    WARNING- When you inserted the new battery under the contact spring, the negative (-ve) side of the battery was against the chassis of the watch which is positive (+) This would briefly short the battery out and greatly REDUCE it's life. These 'simple' tasks should be left to an expert if we don't understand the possibilities of what seems a simple task. Note also metal tweezers will also short the battery out. Either the +ve contact should be removed, or a piece of thin plastic inserted under the battery as it is being installed.

    I was having question How is it the same 7T62 movement was being used in the Solar or non Solar versions and how did Seiko set it up into 2 different configurations, regular battery vs Solar rechargeable battery? after seeing your video, I can see the regular battery configuration here. In the Solar version, the top + Battery spring contact was isolated by a piece of insulation, the rechargeable battery MT920 itself welded with 2 fingers that mated to 2 connections on the side, I guessed 1 is for Solar power charge input, another one is power discharge output, so if we bought a Solar version watch with 7T62, if we do not want to spend $25 for rechargeable battery, just install a regular Silver Oxide battery for a couple of bucks. Great video!

      Thanks for your advice I really appreciate it, I think the solar movement has some modification to work with solar ... I'm curious if it is really working with a normal battery??? Does somebody check it ??? Please share your experience ...

    Thank you! Very useful. I have two Seiko watches and both say to short AC and + when installing a new battery. It's maybe a dumb question but what is AC? Thanks :)

    • @tickingWATCH
      @tickingWATCH  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You're welcome misterG2006, AC is alternating current

      If you look very closely inside the watch you will see a terminal marked AC!

      @@phil6465 Phil, found the AC terminal, but as per misterG2006, how exactly are we to short the AC and + ? TIA

    Probably should've pulled the crown before taking the battery out & installing the new one.

      Rather should not have any influence to the movement but it is a good idea.

    im attempting to fix a Seiko 100m i just recently got but I'm having no luck. the large seconds hand does not spin at all, and the small seconds hand on the left middle spins very fast (1 full rotation every 7 seconds), do you know what could possibly be wrong with it?

      Hi, the best way is to see what a battery is inside and just buy the same or check type of the movement. Is mostly written by Japanese watches under the 6 hour mark. What movement is in your watch? 7T92???

    • @zosothezephead837
      @zosothezephead837 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why don't you unscrew the back and look at the battery? You'll have to do that anyway when you change it.

    Thanks for the video. I have Seiko snq101 perpetual calender. I changed the battery today but its not working, i think something is broken inside or i broke it. I tried the battery on another watch and it works so the battery isnt dead🤷🏻‍♂️
