    Actually, sometimes, the most difficult job is to snap back the cover. When does not go by a thumb pushing it required another sound-science solution: place the cover in the freeze for a few minutes in order to contract the circumference and then it will go by an easy push.

    For some watches you will need a special tool. Many press on casebacks will not open like this. Similarly when closing them you also need a specialized tool.

    Thank-you for your helpful video! I have a Timex (snap back) watch. I carefully removed the back with a small pocket knife. After replacing the battery, I placed the watch on a thin foam pad. I then popped the back on with a small vitamin bottle, bottle cap on top of watch back. Luckily, I had a bottle lid that was virtually the same diameter as the watch back. I didn't think it would be so easy! All the best.

    I love the plastic suggestion. I’ll definitely used it from now on. One comment: most of those tool kits come with another tool for Snap down case backs. It smaller, almost T shaped. The edge is more blunt but it actually works better then the knife style tool. It is safer for you and the watch and works surprisingly well.

    • @DavidSchwartzjr
      @DavidSchwartzjr  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Peter! The plastic will prevent many scratches in the future! I wonder if it’s the other tool I have it’s kind of short and t shaped like you mentioned. I’ll give it a try next time, thanks for the suggestion! 😎🍻👍

We were able to take the back off eventually, but cannot put it back, there are no little indications to mach up, no screwing - it just lifted off, no hinge, but we can't replace it. Can you help please? Thank you in advance.

      Hi Janet, thanks for the kind words. The tool you likely need is going to be something like this:
      amzn.to/3DqfW98
      or like this:
      amzn.to/3RZEBp9
      Just depends on if the dies are the correct size for the Rolex Tudor Rose that you own.

    A good video. When i opened my watch the guts inside fell out, put it all back in. Well not all, had two or three bits that wouldn't hammer back in. Anyway keeps not bad time without those so just binned them. Sometimes stops though, so i just batter it off the mantlepiece or the kerb if i'm outdoors. Anyone know how to remove scratches from the glass without making a crack any bigger?
