As a software engineer, massive props to them for doing the security correctly around the camera. No footage leaves the robot until you tap to view, everything's encrypted, and it's all deleted. Very impressive (even though it shouldn't be, this level of security should be expected)! Also holy shit the app is actually good. There's a few additional options I'd like, but compared to the normal gadget companion app, it's pretty damn solid.
I promise that I'm a real customer and not paid by them to write this review. I can say this robot vacuum is one of the best purchases I've made. It REALLY helps keep my house clean. It can clean dust in most areas around the house and mop the floor with high-quality result. Not just roughly but it cleans in detail. I only need to clean the tiny spaces and the vacuum body + its dock. Always thought this kind of robot vacuums can only assist you in cleaning but turns out it's now the main maid of the house. Her name is Lucy hehe. Try it and you won't regret!
I have a definite love hate relationship with the Roborock where I’m not sure I would recommend any robot vacuum right now. I do think if you have pets, it’s a definite bonus. I would not recommend it to someone as their main/first vacuum unless they’re lazy. Right now it will only vacuum 1/2 my house. I had to edit a lot of rooms as no go zones, because the vacuum does NOT do dark or shag rugs. It errors out. This alone has caused me so much grief, especially since no one tells you this. Everyone is going on about how great it is. You have to search the website online to find out why it’s being erratic, going in circles, and forgetting where home base is. I actually returned 2 others because it worked well for my sister, so I thought it was a quality control thing. It requires you to buy vacuum bags. And the mop attachment just gets stuck on all rugs. Since it’s not doing rugs, maybe I should put it back on but I’m so tired of it not doing its job.
have it (Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra) for week+. Bought a robot alone initially. in 2 days I had Ultra Dock too. This is my first Robot Vacuum in 10 yeras (had few iRobots long time ago). All what is in video is true. Far beyond what I have expected.
It is crazy how good this kind of tech has become! Might be hard to believe - but robot vacuums reviews are my favorite part of the job on the channel.
Hi. Thank you for a great review. I have the same Roborock, but I have a problem with the mopping. It only wets a third of the mop. Roborock customer service says, that this is normal. Do you recognise the phenomenon?
I'd like to know that too, I have a basic machine at the moment which can just about struggle over the tall doorsteps but I'm wondering if I have to build tiny ramps for all of them :D
I wonder how good it does in a fully dark house. I would like to do a general vaccuum while going out for dinner but not having to leave every light on.
8 out of 10 cleanings at home are at night. It's excellent. I generally let robots clean at night - bee like that for years, and almost all robots I;ve tested on the channel have also worked during the night. If there's LiDAR - devices are fine.
I love my S7! (yes, the regular older one) I'd love to upgrade it to the S7 MaxV but sadly the cost/value isn't justified to upgrade for now in my opinion, I did have some troubles with my S7 like some shoe laces (took me a few weeks to get used not to leave those), recently had an issue that the robot reports the filter isn't cleaned or wet, though it was actually not the case but some internal filter near the exit of the other side on the back got clogged, I've seen recommendations on disassembling the robot and cleaning that part, but I got away with taking another vacuum and just sticking it to the filter in take while blowing air on the out take side, so far so good! I've noticed Roborock are planning something new in a couple of days, hope it's something interesting and good and... that you are already secretly testing it ;-)
The S7 is almost the same as the MaxV, so - not really sure if it makes sense to upgrade. The new S8 looks quite interesting on the other hand 😆 And no, still no S8 around. I will have to wait until it reaches Amazon I guess 😇
@@TechMishka Well in my case, I won't upgrade till next year I guess cause now I want the S8 MaxV! lol I guess next year it will come out with the camera version
I love the robot, but the worst part of the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is that when the bin fills up, it keeps going. It does not go back and empty. I have 2 German Sheppards, and it is of no value as a vacuum after just a few passes. It only empties the bin at the very end of the job.
@@PWXcptcrunch Unfortunately, I would have to divide my rooms up. The bin in the Max V Ultra is full after just three passes in my family room. The product claims that it automatically empties the bin. That is a complete falsehood. Emptying at the end of the job is not automatic. Automatic implies that once the bin has reached capacity, it will go and discharge the contents into the bag.
@@petewells6379 that's what you are implying but it never says that they empty it when it's full. And still it's automatic. And although very niche use case it's a pity it hasnt got bin level sensor.
I bought just a robot to see how well it performs. If I like it, I’ll buy the auto empty dock. I’ve been using the Wyze robot for over two years now with zero problems (total cleaning time of 464 hours and 165,600 sq/ft) and it’s been great but it’s time to upgrade to something a little bit smarter that won’t get caught on toys cables and things like that. Also, most of the floor space that I would be using the vacuum is hardwood, so the mopping feature will be nice. The S8 looks nice but I think even the S7 maxV is way more vacuum than I probably need but if spending an extra 200 to get it vs the S6 gives me the option to get the better bases later on, it’s worth the extra $$
Thanks for such a detailed review! The video shows a wet poo like object at the time of 6:40. I was paying a close attention to see what the Roborock S7 going to do, but no result. 😁
I'm super happy with the Q REVO. Should I say "cheap"? Humm...yes. Does everything you can expect? Humm...Yes. Maybe it might better recognize cable-like objects. So requires minimum ambient preparation. I said MINIMUM. Pros: super ultra easy to clean the robot, as well as the doc. Mop does an excellent job. Of course, vacuuming too. House always clean. I say clean because it's clean. Cleaning the dock and robot is easy so dock and robot themselves, also (almost) always CLEAN. Depends on how lazy you are.
To make matters worse, I realized it wasn't working after the return period had passed. Now I'm stuck with this costly paperweight. Beyond frustrating!
I do agree that Roborock S7 max V ultra is the best BUT it is not durable. My dock broke and it was beyond repair jus after 6mths. The dock tarted with being unable to empty dust collected to emptying dust non-stop and i had to cut off the electricity supply to stop it. Sent it for servicing twice and it doesnt get better
You should probably also tell about some of the glaring faults, like you cant program the vacum without internet connection, a phone, gps location,a forced online account and a forced low security password both on account and your wifi. You also have to accept of your info being shared freely with other companies (remember the vacum records video when ever it is used). And even in 2.4ghz it don't work with a MASSIVE amount of routers.
Most robot vacuums require a smartphone app. Every piece of online activity is being tracked these days. As for the video stream - there are a number of warnings and noone forces you to use it unless you want to. As for the router compatibility - please share with me a list with non-compatinle routers.

Are you in the US? If so, where did you get the dock?
Hey can you update about the solution you use? Does it effect the robot?
It is still fine, no issues at all.
How does it work when hair is stuck on the roller and the auto empty clean
The hair will stay there. But the brush is very easy to clean
Hi. Thank you for a great review. I have the same Roborock, but I have a problem with the mopping. It only wets a third of the mop. Roborock customer service says, that this is normal. Do you recognise the phenomenon?
Oh, this is strange. Mine covers the whole surface. Did you try to increase the water flow in the app?
Considering no carpets at home - would you recommend this one or Dreame?
Both will have easy time with hard floors :)
I saw the Dreame- yesterday on the US Amazon for around 600 USD which is a steal.
Do you know how the Roborock S7 Max v can drive over doorsteps? In my house there is a door step between all rooms, height approx. 25 mm.
I'd like to know that too, I have a basic machine at the moment which can just about struggle over the tall doorsteps but I'm wondering if I have to build tiny ramps for all of them :D
Can i use the mop function on laminate flooring
Yes, you can. My floors are laminate too
I wonder how good it does in a fully dark house. I would like to do a general vaccuum while going out for dinner but not having to leave every light on.
I saw it has a built in light
Does this not have LIDAR and therefore no light required?

How dos roborock in general handle doorsteps?
Depends on the height.
The mop dryer is purchasable seperately

I bought a “like new” s7 maxV on Amazon for $540. Worth a shot vs buying new. Should arrive this week.

Yeah, there is no indicator about the container being full.
One thing you could do to help with this is schedule it to clean one room at a time that way it goes back and empties before cleaning the next room.

I was gonna do the same thing but I don’t think I can buy the ultra dock separately in the US.
How does it stand against long hair tho? Most robovacuum just get all tangled up 😅
This one is fine. You need from time to time remove it from the sides of the mid brush.
This one or the Dreame L10S Ultra?
Both are lovely. I keep on using the Roborock.
What about multiple floors, for those living in a house?
Well supported.
Is this how loud?
The station is very loud. The robot can be tuned.

The S7maxv is terrible at avoiding cords. It runs over practically every single one. You should have mentioned that in your video
Hmmm, this is a little weird... Are your cords very thin? It never got stuck in the cord of my laptop...
