Seriously major that to Samsung. I have the Fold 4 and even last year for the Oppo Find N3 as I prefer a phone than a slim little candy bar. Now that there is ACTUAL competition for the foldables, Samsung needs to up their game MAJORLY. They've been on top of the pile too long and keep spitting out the same phone year after year while raising prices. Hopefully this will light a fire under their arse and get them making something interesting when instead of following the 🍎 mantra...
Here are some key points from the video to consider before purchasing the Honor Magic V3: * Design: The phone is incredibly thin, measuring 4.35mm unfolded and barely thicker than an iPhone 15 Pro Max when folded. This thinness is achieved without sacrificing features like water resistance and wireless charging. * Display: The internal display measures 7.92 inches and features a 120Hz refresh rate. The crease is less noticeable compared to other foldables, and the display is less reflective. The external display is also impressive, with a peak brightness of 5,000 nits. * Hinge: The hinge has been upgraded for improved durability and now feels closer to the Samsung Z Fold 6's hinge in terms of resistance and snap feel. * Performance: The phone is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, offering improved performance and efficiency. It comes with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. * Battery: The 5,150mAh battery provides excellent battery life, surpassing many other foldables. * Software: The phone runs Magic OS 8.0.1 based on Android 14. While it has improved, it still has its quirks and may require some tweaking to get it to your liking. * Camera: The camera system is a tier below top-tier flagships but still performs well. The primary camera captures rich 12MP images and performs well in low light. The ultra-wide camera is decent, and the telephoto camera offers good resolution and zoom capabilities. * Price: The phone is priced similarly to the Samsung Z Fold 6 in Europe. Overall, the Honor Magic V3 is a strong contender in the foldable phone market, offering a compelling combination of design, features, and performance. However, the software may not be to everyone's taste, and the camera system may not be the absolute best available.
The only thing they need is better marketing and physical presence. No one would gamble 1k of their money for an "unknown" company. Yes I know they're big, but go out there to the masses, ask them what or who is honor, you'll be surprised how cluesless they are
Honor could literally make the most amazing foldable but until they can match the truly global availability of samsung their foldables just won't be any threat to Samsung "What's an honor? Is it the newest samsung?"
None of the international phones can compete with Samsung mainly due to the promo's and discounts offered by the company and carriers. Sadly, they are not an option at full price.
I have this phone. It's definitely overhyped. Honor decided to put in the latest hardware but not fine tune it. The selfie camera is horrible. My note 10 which is a 5 year old phone has better picture quality in my own comparison. The speakers have so much base it drowns out the highs and mid range sound. Zero tuning. And lastly the display is beautiful however compared to my note 10 the colors aren't as vibrant or sharp. Tuning the hardware is everything. That's why Samsung still out rivals it's competition.
battery wise, don't expect too much to be honest. I think this guy is just selling this phone. My ip 14 pm can go through one day with one charge on normal usage. my new magic v3 need 1.5 charge per day on normal usage.
Thermal management is absolutely comprised. Flagship chip nerfed by throttling. The pursuit of thinness is stupid. Even Apple came to their senses with the MacBook.
I've been using it for a month and it never heats up even in heavy use. The gaming performance is also great on mine (consistent 120fps in pubg and 60fps in Genshin) If you want a better gaming foldable then the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro is better but it's not as thin and lightweight. Also the global version is expensive and not available in many countries. For general day to day use the thinness and light weight is really great.
yeah no, oneui is bloated and slow. and honor also has a desktop mode similar to dex. also the US isn't the only country in the world. there's a whole world outside the USA. blame your government for banning chinese companies because they couldn't compete with them
Absolutely not. Z Fold6 is way behind in software and in hardware it's in prehistoric times. the ONLY reason why Samsung does well in the US is because of the economic and political sabotage that the US government enacts against Chinese tech companies. so much for a "free market" lmao.
Ordered it! Crapping myself as currently an Apple forever user, needed something different. Best vid on the software so far.
Completely the same boat mate, literally sold my Mac, watch and phone and took the plunge with this! I think it’ll be worth it !

Kudos for Honor. Great review!
I'm currently using the zf6.. But I've ordered the v3.. Out of stock tho at the moment! Have to wait 2 weeks! 😭😂
What about system & security updates, did I miss something?
Another question: what about it's "telephoning home", to China?
Just bought.. the camera, sound and slimness are what i like most
Great review definitely thinking about getting one question you think my Galaxy watch will connect to this
Great review! Lovely footage and 🔥 editing. I'm seriously considering buying this phone. Thank you very much.

I love the Z Fold 6, but this phone looks good. I'm wondering how long with Android provide software updates?!?
Pretty sure it’s 4 years of android updates and 5 for security
It gets 4 years of android os updates and 5 years security updates

Great review!
I'm still deciding on this or the Vivo 3 Pro
Coming from the Find N2 (which is perfect in size)
Correction on 8:10
Manufacturers are required by law to *market* anything as AI features.
That's the most beautiful phone I've ever seen.
I am soooooo tempted by the Honor 🤷♂️
I am too. I just like the Z Fold 6 too much to steer away from it
Big love Alex, kindest regards, Richard U.K
It pave the way to tri fold which is going to be as think as iphone?
Check out the Huawei Mate XT. It's only very slightly thicker than a fold 6😅
Okay another question do you think this is coming to the US

Careful, the US government finished Huawei and may do the same with Honor. Besides, the OS (nix Android) isn't quite my cup of tea.
hi, thanks for the video, have you or anyone out there use Honor Magic V3 with Android Auto?
Ugh, two selfie cams. How much does it save to remove the outside selfie cam? It's redundant with the main sensors
And what, remove the option for quick, casual video chats?
You need that for the face unlock

Great professional review, very tempted.
It's very tempting. Worried, I'd hate the software.
It's not too bad these days
Nothing to hate. I have it. It is better than Google 9 pro fold software but not as good as Samsung software but hardware is superior to both.
Can't wait for jerryrig to open this phone apart.
Z Fold 6 is literally the worst fold this year 😂
no it isn't.

Why does the cameras have to stick out on any and all smartphones?
Remember the LG V50.
Bigger sensors
because you have to choose between better camera or thin phone. and people want both
Bc the bigger the sensor, the longer the lens (ie the thicker the camera) have to be so the light can hit the entire sensor
Thinnest also means most fragile 😉
Apparently it's got aerospace grade fibre body that's stronger then most phones by several times. It's a tough phone.
