Lack of improvement between my z fold 4 and the z fold 6 put me off upgrading, I've had Samsung's for the last 10 years but I've ordered myself the V3.Time for a change
exactly the same situation, i loved Samsung for being Samsung, had the fold 3, waited every year and nothing happened, got a s24 ultra and well im also done with candybar phones. Samsung lost me also as a customer, i need innovation, and i tested the software extensively on the Honor, it's not bad at all, they are even a lot of apps that do all the Good lock stuff from Samsung 😊

It's impressive how Chinese brands are offering high-quality products at competitive prices. They're clearly putting in a lot of effort to innovate and deliver value for money. It's a testament to their dedication and ambition.
I have a feeling we're going to see even more incredible things coming from China in the future. It's definitely a force to be reckoned with!
Yes the magic V series is a nice looking alternative to the Samsung fold line. However it's missing some basic capabilities that are essential to "my" personal use. The biggest for me is the fact that the magic doesn't support Ultra Wide Band, being able to use your phone as a digital key is an important feature for me. The lack of support of this feature made me switch back to the zFold line.
i support tech reviewer to bash Samsung for sitting inside their comfort zone, that's the way to force them to accelerate their pace
but i would say the battery efficiency of Fold 6 is better than V3 despite having smaller size of battery, but yeah V3 charging speed compensated that.. Fold 6 video and camera output is actually comparable with the output of v3, except telephoto zoom
i guess it's still down to customer's preference they prefer Samsung slightly more polished software and higher brand awareness (conservative mindset) or V3's specs-rich device but lower brand awareness (adventurous mindset)
was hoping Honor would give better price discount for preorder though, cuz we could still get Fold 6 with 15% rebates + RM700 trade in value, which ultimately being priced slightly lower than V3
Not sure what you mean by the Fold 6 being better with battery when there are extreme battery life tests on youtube showing the fold6 die first before the honor.

I don't get the thing about Samsung having a more polished software. I have an Honor Magic 6 Pro and had a Samsung S20 before it. The Samsung's UI feels like a cluttered convoluted mess compared to the easy clean to use UI on the Honor.

In hardware Honor and Vivo are in a league of their own by lightyears superiority and even as a Samsung Knight I admit that. However, in software Samsung is phenomenal with stylus gestures , Samsung TV gaming emulation ecosystem, galaxy AI like sketch to image my favorite multi tasking etc. I will import Honor and Vivo to Here in the US because the hardware is incredible!
Was just about to order a fold 6 as I have a 5, now I'm going on the waiting list for a Magic V3
Personally, I have been using Samsung smartphones for several years. Even currently I'm using an S23 Ultra and haven't seen fit to upgrade to the S24 Ultra. This year has been a disappointing year for me as a consumer of Samsung products. This habit they have of wanting to imitate Apple annoys me to no end. For the Fold I expected a lot from the Z Fold 6 since having used the Z Fold 4 last year I hoped that this time Samsung would make a revolution with the Z Fold 6. But here again I was disappointed. I'm not necessarily a fan of thin smartphones but the size of the screens, especially external screens, matters to me. And I don't like the shape of the Z Fold 6's external screen. For Samsung I'm waiting to see what they'll release next year! And I hope that the anger of the boss of Samsung against the mobile department of this company will bear fruit. It would be a shame if Samsung, which gave us so many quality products, ended up like Nokia. I hope they will finally listen to consumers and give them what they want!
yeah, I have the fold 5 and the 6 was such a disappointment for me... Why cant Samsung just make a foldable with an external screen ratio like the Ultra and just make it 1 mm thinner. I don't need a phone as thin as the Honor, just a but thinner than the 5/6
I actually like the smaller size of fold 6 compare to magic v 3, I just hope that samsung will change the lithium battery to silicon carbon battery next year so that the phone can be as thin as magic v3.
Except the silicon carbon battery is less reliable than lithium and will quite literally fail quicker than lithium, the phone will need a battery replacement years ahead of someone rocking a lithium.

Just a heads, Honor mAGIC v3 only provides 3 years of android software updates compare to 7 years on ZF6 which is a huge point to Samsung which you missed.
You're quite right. Honor Magic V3 is the clear winner overall. However,
Samsung hinge better at any angle compared to Honor.
Battery life although Samsung's smaller battery, is comparable with the Honor.
Samsung's front display does not support pen but Honor's front display does.
Magic OS 8 UI has improved tremendously, you can drag any app to create shortcuts to the app - eg. Grab if drag, can create different shortcuts for food, car etc.
Samsung supports updates up to 7 years. Strong security feature from Samsung Knox. Honor's updates lagged behind by a lot to other phone brands. No clear indication how long the updates will be supported
Say what you will but Z Fold 6 just look so premium.
*Few Questions if we switch from One UI:*
1) Any App like GoodLock on it
2) Can we just Lock the Front Screen to Potrait, like we can with GoodLock & keep Inside Screen to Auto (Bixby Routines)
3) Can we choose any App to open up, when we connect to Bluetooth Headphones - Routines in GoodLock
4) Will Excel Sheets work just like on Samsung, Read Edit for FREE
5) Any issues opening Apps in Full Screen, does it have option to Force open Apps in Full Screen, like we have in Samsung
6) Will we able to do a FREE Full Cloud Back like in Samsung ☆(have to pay monthly for iPhone)
7) Can we download Themes & just Icons of Themes ? Does it have a Theme Store ?
8) Will we be able to change Back, Home, Multiple Icons like in - NavStar in GoodLock
9) Will we able change Task Changer in SlimList, like we can with - HomeUp in GoodLock
10) OneHand Operation & Routines features anything similar on it - GoodLock
11) Can we Stack Widgets like in Samsung ☆
12) Does it have PlayStore or....

Betul, Honor Magic V3 lagi hebat dari Samsung Z Fold 6. In terms of hardware, quality and price Honor is the winner but Samsung offers better software support for up to 7 years of updates and Samsung has more third party accessories so you won't feel outdated.

I do consider software equally important for a mobile phone. Honor hardware is impressive but I decided to go with fold6. Reason is I need the S pen feature and also its AI translator.

Decent review but as a five year fold owner, Samsung devices will simply always be a solid investment, just like buying one of their TVs. No one would ever go to Walmart or Bestbuy to buy and Honor tv or phone device. People buy well known reliable quality..... Samsung, LG...etc

Samsung's One UI is probably the iest Andriod UI on the market, still full of bugs still slow and still has wierd stuttering animation that cuts and lags icons. its a un-optimized garbage.
Software is not a win for Samsung. I absolutely hate One UI. It is a mess. There is absolutely zero consistency with how certain functions on OneUI works.

Only the black version is 4,35mm the green one is a little thicker. The inner screen of the Honor goes to 1600nits nothing above 2000
Tried so many times on Samsung Fold but cannot accept the weight, thickness and dimension. Want to like it as I've using the S-Pen Samsung phones for so many years but failed. Samsung Fold is so yesterday. Samsung is too complacent and fallen behind competitors like Honor, Vivo, OnePlus etc.

Saya memang fan honor dari Honor 8 pro lagi dan sekarang pakai Honor 70... bila Fold 6 keluar saya beli Fold 6 dan suka... apatah lagi saya link dgn ultra. Tak nafi Honor memang power tapi saya tak kisah bagi saya fold 6 ada hiddem gem. Fold 6 pun dah ada upgrade phone Fold 6 Slim... tggu dan lihat

You didn’t mention the dust resistance, this is the most important feature in foldable phones and I think this one goes for samsung 😏
Fold 4 user here.. samsung so laid back and not really serious. After fold 4 came out.. those fold 5 and 6 is more update rather than upgrade.. happy for honor to see what customers really wanted.. and see though every possible upgrade needed.. samsung win by DEX but thats all no more😂

agreed on all aspect.. but what about overall software experiences... does honor magic v3 provide specific customization to differentiate tablet experience from normal mobile.. i am a z fold 6 user and so far user experience was great.. but i want to know what does honor do to make v3 magic os a tablet friendly os. if the os experience is fantastic as one UI i may sway to that camp as well
Ya, time for a change. I've been using Samsung Note 2 until Z fold 4 which I've replaced the inside screen for 3 times in last 2 yrs (luckily got warranty), but I am disappointed with the specs of Z fold 6. Just pre-ordered V3.
Congrats for your v3 pre-order. I just bought Z fold 6 pre-order last month due to my samsung note20 ultra screen spoilt suddenly. Thought of buying V2 tat time but decided to buy fold 6. My first fold phone tat i wanted for long ago. Im newbie in fold phone.
Love your attitude as a tech reviewer ❤ especially when you use your Melayu accent, so genuine 🎉 I'm using my F6 for months now since I got it from early PO in ID. Overall, am not bothered at all by its size, the thickness and shape, totally fine and it makes the grip so comfy, literally no issue. The only features that Honor put a shame to F6 are bigger battery and faster charger. The rest, i think it's going down to user's preference. In this case, Samsung with its matured UI, is its strength, likewise if you combo it with GoodLock, damn so comfy to use the phone with one hand. The Spen and notes features I'd say very practical and I haven't seen HV3 notes features yet. Lastly, SF6 Knox, it gives some kinda worry free, nothing to be afraid of your phone gets hacked by malware, such a peace of mind feature that HV3 hasn't flaunted it yet ❤ so for SF6 users, don't worry about it, our phone is still great, no big issues that require us to move to HV3 😅 hope on SF7, all the concerns are well addressed by Samsung ❤
Buy samsung due to good after sale service. The price is not cheap, better buy the one with reliable after sale service. Samung provide monthly security patching on time, safe from any vulnerabilities. The reason the spec not as good as v3, is because they cannot build it better than bar phone flagship s24u, else who wants to buy s24u? Narrow screen is for easy to grab in hand. Just my 2 cents.

the free 365 screen protection has a catch...do not use your phone naked and hope honor to cover your repair. Quote from Honor official shopee page '365-Day Screen Protection covers internal and external screen that is cracked, damaged, or broken during the course of normal use only. Customer is entitled to one (1) time free of charge internal / external screen spare part replacement. Do note other parts are chargeable, should the physical damages involved other parts of the phone and the screen protection is subject to a service labour fee of $78. Thank you'

Honor is much better in specs, but camera design on the back is unacceptable ugly. Looking exactly like a 200$ beginners phone. Software unfortunately is also a clear deal breaker for the really great honor.
