The real tragedy that nobody talks about is that we the normal people on the streets have been deprived of better products (that naturally born out of competition) due to our governments banning the Chinese products in the name of ambiguous never-properly-explained national security threats.

yup..I was am avid Huawei user, and I still use my Mate 20x from 2018 as a backup. The phone is still strong as far as battery, gaming, and big screen. The only thing that shows it's age is the camera. However, in daylight like most phones it's still takes serviceable pics.

after seeing the linux malware a few months back that gave a hacker full control over your system. I'm hundred percent convinced a chinese phone with their own software onto their own hardware are 100% none stop watching and listening everything you do then they using AI to figure out which people to focus on.
this is even with USA. So I can understand why they banned chinese phones

Samsung was a protected species by the US, when Chinese phone makers were sanctioned and blocked from markets. So the Chinese phone makers had to really innovate and make good products or they won't survive. So Samsung just became lazy with its inherited secure position in Western markets. Such is the lack of innovation by Samsung they are rolling out practically the same phone year to year and charging the same and sometimes even ore than prior years. How sick.

FYI, the Magic V3 will get 4 years of android updates and 5 years of security patches.

I've hated the closed aspect ratio of the fold phones since the first iteration. He's right Samsung has gotten lazy, they just push out the same phones with slight upgrades and overprice them, the same the android die-hards complain about Apple doing. It's good to see them get some competition, like Redmi in the budget/midrange category, having a better phone that's also cheaper and Honor, Oneplus and Google in the flagship category

Brands feel comfortable and slow down innovations when they feel there is no competition chasing them.
The fact that Samsung can still rely on its ecosystem, updates, OS ... which is (way) better than the other foldables, makes them not rush in releasing a better screen closed ratio, better hinge, and so on.
We tend to 'accuse' Samsung of not being innovative where other brands (e.g. Apple) don't even try to penetrate this market.
When and if this will be ever the case, we will see how magically all Samsung engineers will wake up.

    • @aaronlimitless
      @aaronlimitless 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

What’s gonna happen is three things that will speed them up one if their sales start to just completely fall off a cliff.
That will probably also result in a price drop from Samsung
Number two would be when affordable and more affordable options start to come to market. They will have to compete with that.
And honestly, three, and probably the most realistic I think is when Apple finally makes a foldable phone even though the price will be the same that will still make Samsung at least wake up a little bit to remain competitive in that respect

The fold just feels bulky and "few gen" behind. If u love bricks and industrial design, then its all cool. Or if u have super huge hands and loves bulky stuffs.
But in all honesty, Honor did blow many of the competition out of the water. For busy daily uses, it does pays to have faster charging etc. Every little thing counts.

Depends on if you plan on using it open or closed most of the time. Samsung's flip and fold just operate better than the competition when opened. They've prioritized solid feel and better one handable (or easily maneuverable) aspect ratio when held in the open format. My OnePlus open feels *slightly better as a normal phone but the experience on offer when using opened, ironically, doesn't feel as good. Some combination of the refined software and super solid, tanky build, just make the tablet form feel better on Samsung's devices imo (same goes for the z flip vs the razr ultra). The thickness (or thinness) isn't really an advantage when in tablet form for the Honor. Way worse speakers in exchange for something that is marginally easier to hang onto? (And even that's not a given with thinner devices because so many are just big squares) No thanks

  • @BondiBeache
    @BondiBeache หลายเดือนก่อน

What many people misunderstand is that simply making a device thinner is not difficult. Most of you might naturally assume that the performance has been maintained while the device became thinner, and therefore think the technology is more advanced because of the reduced thickness.
But what if it was just made thinner without other considerations?
This Chinese smartphone company officially stated that users should not fold or unfold the screen at temperatures below -5°C. Consumers who ignored this warning found that their screens immediately malfunctioned, and the company refused to provide any after-sales service.😂
Sacrificing durability just to make something thinner is not an advancement in technology. Samsung had already mastered the technology to make devices thinner long ago. However, they refrained from commercializing it because ensuring durability required new materials or design methods.

Lol, this video was supposed to be about how Samsung needs to wake up, but instead, it shows how Samsung is still winning in terms of refinement and the overall product package. With the way everyone talks about how these chinese phones are "way" ahead of Samsung's, you would think that these phones absolutely destroy the Z Fold 6, but they don't.
The cameras across all of them are heavily comparable and even lose to the fold 6 in certain areas.
The battery life is also comparable despite the heavily criticized smaller battery in the fold 6.
The performance might be the best on the fold 6 of any of the foldables.
Screen brightness is basically the same in real life when you're outside.
Thinness is a change, but I wouldn't necessarily say it makes any of the other foldables better than the fold 6. For example, look at how Honor has to throttle the V3 to keep it from destroying its hyper thin self.
The only areas the fold 6 actually loses in are battery size, charging speeds, and camera hardware (not necessarily performance or results).
The universal opinion is that Samsung's software is the best, so what are we really buying these devices for? Thinness, a bigger outer screen, and weaker software?

He clearly says that the battery life is so much better on the honor, not to mention the embarrassing charging speed. The software difference seems very subjective since you can do anything on the honor that you can on the Samsung. The cameras on the honor are muchhh better. Here he mostly compared cameras during the day ... Which is silly. If you lower the light even a bit the honor humiliates it, not to even speak about zoom capabilities. So with better screens (inside and out) much better battery life and charging speeds, and considerably better cameras, there is simply no comparison

I see no reason to move up from a ZFold4. The Honor is not a viable alternative, although I prefer their form factor. Why would I want a phone with inferior software and support?

Everyone saying honor this, honor that but at the end of the day, most reviewers go back to their iphones. You can have the nicest hardware but people would choose experience over it. Regular updates and support is keeping Apple and Samsung ahead over the chinese brands and as long as it stays that way, I don't really see apple and samsung be threathened by chinese hardwares.

Samsung still beats the competition in foldable devices because they make small increments in changes each year. These companies making " the thinnest " foldables will have nothing to improve on in the future. It's the same as apple, it's smart business sense.

Good overall comparison. But how can a "tech reviewer" still thinks camera mega pixels equals camera size?

to anyone asking.. the global magic v3 works on verizon, tmobile, at&t and all the other usa carriers but you need to import it, sites like wonda mobile or averagedad and then put your sim card in it. however you may not have wifi calling

As frustrating as it is, none of it matters in the US market. I dropped my phone constantly and if I can't get insurance on it 😢

No matter what samsung still win the sales except no one buying then maybe samsung will try change everything, but you know thats impossible people still prefer showing off than quality. You guys can read the comment all below still prefer samsung, thats how samsung is smart & arrogant no need change battery just input AI plus square design from fold 5 to fold 6, increase price for sure people will still buy it no matter what happen.
Yes i am ex samsung user, always got issue after update, not even a single year my samsung can last. Change to Vivo X Fold gen 1, its much better now.

EXACTLY. Samsung & some other "leading" manufacturers seem to be really behind Chinese innovators in some cases. If you do something well, some Chinese will do it better, that's the law 😅

The phone traded performance for what Is essentially aesthetics....I'm not sure I'd call that better.
