I remember how competitive Huawei phones were with Samsung's before they got soft-banned. The P-series were competing blow for blow with Samsung's cameras and also had amazing battery life and screens
Samsung was a protected species by the US, when Chinese phone makers were sanctioned and blocked from markets. So the Chinese phone makers had to really innovate and make good products or they won't survive. So Samsung just became lazy with its inherited secure position in Western markets. @everstar8056 Samsung is very good with regular security updates. Whereas Honor is known to be slow with updates. Some times going 6 plus months without and security updates.
China's flagship phone already went ahead beating Samsung and iPhone. The leverage they have only because of US sanction over them. ZTE is already beating Samsung and iphone in slab and Huawei is already beating every foldable in existence with Mate XT.
Eh, had my apple phone for 7 years, and it works great, can play all the phone games like Genshin HSR, camera lost a bit of quality when I accidentally left it in a fridge too long, but the phone works great overall and still getting updates, you really don't need the yearly or biyearly updates, once every 4-5 years is more than enough.
Samsung has been selling the same phone 3 years in a row and it's crazy expensive. This Honor is great, so thin and with a big battery, very impressive.
I'd say 4 years tbh. I've owned the Z Fold 2 and 4, and was ready to upgrade this year but chose not to bother with the 6 because it's basically the same phone I bought in 2020. I like their software and am embedded into their ecosystem, but their hardware is no longer market leading, so I've ordered a Magic v3 instead!
they've been doing the same thing with their slab phone tbh. s24u s23u and s22u are carbon copies, s21u is basically the same too just slightly different design

If you want to talk about the same phone in a row look at apple, apple been selling the same phone since 2019. 2020 was the updated version or they so call redesign. Honor phone are quite popular in the other side of the world and it's gunning down the throat of samsung as they keep sleeping on their technical hardware part. Even the software are catching up fast. Honor also committed to provide 5yrs of security updates and few major android updates too.
I have seen a few comparisons and there really isn’t much between them apart from subjective preference. The V3 is not even released yet so is likely to have updates to improve it, as may the Fold6.
Brands feel comfortable and slow down innovations when they feel there is no competition chasing them. The fact that Samsung can still rely on its ecosystem, updates, OS ... which is (way) better than the other foldables, makes them not rush in releasing a better screen closed ratio, better hinge, and so on. We tend to 'accuse' Samsung of not being innovative where other brands (e.g. Apple) don't even try to penetrate this market. When and if this will be ever the case, we will see how magically all Samsung engineers will wake up.
What’s gonna happen is three things that will speed them up one if their sales start to just completely fall off a cliff. That will probably also result in a price drop from Samsung Number two would be when affordable and more affordable options start to come to market. They will have to compete with that. And honestly, three, and probably the most realistic I think is when Apple finally makes a foldable phone even though the price will be the same that will still make Samsung at least wake up a little bit to remain competitive in that respect
It's too late for Samsung. It is already losing market really fast. Why do you think Samsung CEO was angry? Even i was a Samsung Fan but that was till 2020. Unfortunately the company began to sell cheap plastic flagship phones again, exynos is terrible, hardware problems including camera, heat issues, battery issues etc. One Ui lacks smoothness and it's just copying Apple at this point. After One Ui 3 everything fell down. I still use the S10 but im switching up in 2025. It will probably be Pixel
@tedishijaku8096 I'd be angry if I was Apple CEO. Apple Intelligence (AI) is future music for iPhone 16... even worse, there is no timeline defined for Europe 😮 Samsung will have his 2nd phone with AI by Feb 2025...

I have the zfold since launch. I also just bought the V3 last week. Putting em side by side, i cant help but feel that V3 is much more posh and easy on the eye. I had a vivo x fold 2 and i said everything that's being said about samsung. A little after 1 year, the vivo decided to just give up. Seems like chinese phones are still, chinese. I replaced it with the fold 6, i dont want to risk it again.
The v3 has one feature I love. Pen support for the outside screen as well. Samsung has no excuses when Honor can put all this into such a thin device. I have ordered my v3 in the UK direct from Honor and they have £300 off, included the Pen / 66w charger and insurance on the screens for 6 months. So Cheaper than Samsung too.

Samsung and Google are slacking behind because they can get away with it Not just the Honor Magic V3, but also the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 all have better designs and hinges, but since so many of them are china-exclusive, they don't pose a threat to Samsung/Google. I'm glad that Honor and Oneplus are bringing their foldables to the western market to show that Samsung really have to up their game
exactly. Warranty RMAs, support, parts repairability/availability, resellability. These other companies need to make the endeavor out here to the US. they would KILL it. until then, samsung and google will reign supreme.
They don't have better hinges. If you want something that is lighter and easier to open but will flop open in a year, then that's great but I cannot fathom how you can say a hinge design refined over 6 gens from Samsung isn't objectively superior/more reliable
Better design maybe. Better hinges and software, not on your life. Also Chinese phone quality control and customer service would make Asus looks like God.
If these other folds aren't released globally, or in the US I doubt Samsung would care. The only fold competition Samsung have is Google, but Google tensor can't compare to Samsung snapdragon.
I still remembered when watching Foldable comparison like this, but it was OnePlus Open Vs Z Fold5. Well, main focus wasn't the actual device, rather Matt's Black Hoodie
Lol I switched from Z Fold to Open and don't regret it at all. I paid $600 less for it and it blows my Z Fold out of the water. The only thing Samsung has going for it is their superior multitasking
For the crease problem, I think that a crease is a crease until it's gone. So no matter how prominent or not prominent it is on a device, it doesn't change the fact that there's a crease.
Just got the fold 6. Upgrade from the fold 4. I love the fold 6 so far. The way it fits securely in my hand also the premium look. All my coworkers(iPhone users) are alway looking. I'll buy the Honor Magic. Fold phones are the best. Never going back to a regular phone.
Great review. Samsung seems to be borrowing a page from Apple's playbook-prioritising profit over pushing the boundaries of innovation. I suppose they assume we can afford to play it safe and revamp it next year. However, with sales plummeting, that strategy might not be as clever as they think.
I miss Huawei challenging Samsung in the US, those were the days of innovation. But they basically killed Huawei off there with that government stuff and the google ban
The funny thing is that the Taiwanese also laugh at the new mobile phone launched by China's Huawei. They don't even have their own mobile phone brand. I don't know who gives them confidence.
In most parts of Asia, except Korea, Japan, and Taiwan? So basically, just mostly Chinese, right? Or do you now want to expand beyond East Asia to include our friends in India and South East Asia and former Soviet Union countries.
Hey Matthew! I appreciate the comparison video. I currently own a Fold 6 and just ordered the Global version of the Honor Magic V3 from Wonda Mobile. I'm excited to try something different after having used the Folds since the 4th version. I'm sacrificing support from Samsung here but I really wanna try the V3 out alongside the Fold 6 in person.
It's not that Samsung can not make equally good foldable like v3 nor they are lazy, it's because Samsung plays to the market where it sells most. Since they don't have much competition in these markets, they can get away with their inferior phones.
wow, nobody else has mentioned the performance mode differences in their reviews of the Magic v3. Are all the other people paid shills or something? That's a very important selling point.
Everybody knows that keeping a 20:9 aspect ratio is comfortable for a foldable phone's external display. It's a shame Samsung still thinks a slim candy bar screen is proper. The battery size has barely increased as well. The only thing they have going is: 1. Good dust resistance compared to others 2. Better trade-in value.
Most sand and dust are under 1mm size. Samsung Z Fold 6 would still get sand in the spine if you sprinkled some on top of it. I would even go as far to say that all of these foldables should be >1mm dust proof, but just Samsung had it certified (The certification adds cost).
I see what everyone is saying about Samsung getting lazy, I do however feel they are taking an apple like approach to hardware.. perfecting there design rather than changing it.
Yes Samsung getting real lazy each time they released Z Fold series. I am really disappointed now looking into V3 , I can only say Samsung you can forget it my money 💰 going to V3.
Great video. I have the Z Fold 6 and I couldn't be happier. I added the anti glare film for the front. I seriously feel like this is the perfect phone.
That's how a $1500+ foldable phone should look. It's crazy that Samsung is getting away with this every year. Nothing has really changed since the Z Fold 3, which is when I got mine. I haven't upgraded to any other foldable phone since then. I went back to the S23 Ultra because of the bad camera and battery life. I'm hoping Samsung will come up with something great like a Fold Ultra with a bigger outer screen, larger battery, and the same cameras as their flagship phones.
The fold 6 is perfect. If you try it out im sure you will love it. I upgraded from gen 1 to gen 4 and now to gen 6. The battery life is amazing and there are actually big differences between those 3 devices.
Got the honor magic v2 about 6 months ago after having EVERY version of the fold. I'll never go back to Samsung. This phone is absolutely amazing. Same size as a normal phone but folds out to a beautiful screen. Samsung has been stagnant with their fold model for far too long and it shows.
I don't know about other markets, but in Portugal the Fold 6 is already being sold at €1100 less than a month after launch (in Portugal it launched at €2200, so a €1000 discount lol), so I got one 😂 For the price it's a very good phone
Using a now pixel nine Pro XL, a 15 Pro Max soon-to-be 16 Pro Max and a galaxy Z fold six as my main drivers it’s deplorable that Samsung doesn’t put in high-end cameras from their ultra line in these expensive phones. They should have the best cameras in them that is my single biggest grip for the price of these phones is that they can’t even have ultra/premiumspecs across-the-board especially sad when other brands let alone cheaper brands are doing better
my next fold phone will be a Honor Magic !!! everything is better: bigger screen, bigger battery, better camera overall, thinner and lighter, less expensive. Like wtf did samsung do with their R&D to let a smaller brand completely destroy them on every aspect of a phone ???
HONOR is the best... please make an ultra larger version!! Please make the stylus nib smaller.... improve stylus' battery life or make it non-bluetooth and improve the notes app... Something no one mentions is a very underrated feature on the Honor, the IR BLASTER! It's super useful!!
Samsung heard that one. Maybe they we're like getting it slowly like Apple. The consistency and stability of the chip same with the camera is there main point to get attention from it's users. We'll take Honor Magic V3 as the stream of foldables does better for 3 to 5 years. I'm hoping Honor will make more phones like that in the future.
When Huawei (who was HONOR's parent at the time) created an outward folding phone with No Gap and was barely thicker than their flagship, while Samsung had the Z Fold 1 & 2 with huge Gaps and was super chunky. I knew Samsung better step up their game
I've never going to buy a fold phone with a crease for 2k. Sounds ridiculous to me. I'll hang on until such time they sort it out. But this Honor has blown me away with how thin it is. And yes... The Samsung Fold 6 looks exactly the same as the 1st Fold... Except the improvement in the hinge.
I had fold 6 already in the cart, but I will wait for official global version v3. It is jus ton another level and even software is not going to justify such a big differences in thickness.
Depends on if you plan on using it open or closed most of the time. Samsung's flip and fold just operate better than the competition when opened. They've prioritized solid feel and better one handable (or easily maneuverable) aspect ratio when held in the open format. My OnePlus open feels *slightly better as a normal phone but the experience on offer when using opened, ironically, doesn't feel as good. Some combination of the refined software and super solid, tanky build, just make the tablet form feel better on Samsung's devices imo (same goes for the z flip vs the razr ultra). The thickness (or thinness) isn't really an advantage when in tablet form for the Honor. Way worse speakers in exchange for something that is marginally easier to hang onto? (And even that's not a given with thinner devices because so many are just big squares) No thanks
What many people misunderstand is that simply making a device thinner is not difficult. Most of you might naturally assume that the performance has been maintained while the device became thinner, and therefore think the technology is more advanced because of the reduced thickness. But what if it was just made thinner without other considerations? This Chinese smartphone company officially stated that users should not fold or unfold the screen at temperatures below -5°C. Consumers who ignored this warning found that their screens immediately malfunctioned, and the company refused to provide any after-sales service.😂 Sacrificing durability just to make something thinner is not an advancement in technology. Samsung had already mastered the technology to make devices thinner long ago. However, they refrained from commercializing it because ensuring durability required new materials or design methods.
Really good review. I appreciate the in-depth approach. I am upgrading from a Z Fold 3. Does Honor have support in the UK? I think the ease of if the Z Fold 6 goes wrong, I can pop into my local Vodafone store and get it sorted. However, Honor are offering Phone, Watch, Earbuds, Charger and Pen for £1399 in UK.
One thing is hardware. The other is software. And how both work together. For me personally the best worlds of both is the zfold 6. But best for me does not mean best for you. Test if you are able to and make your own decision. And have tons of fun afterwards…..😊
Chinese phone brand is kick ass I was iphone and then samsung user before But their lack of innovation push me to try some chinese phone Im now using a huawei mate x5 and really love it , it made want to get the latest mate XT
As someone from Asia where majority of these chinese smartphone are sold, here is my comment. Great hardware, shitty software support and after sale support. Basically, if something happens to your phone you are on your own, and don’t expect any long term support for these devices. Until they fix their crappy customer support and software optimization, I’ll stick with the tried and tested samsung and apple. Had a xiaomi phone for years they are just pain to use and I don’t expect any better from other chinese brands. Their global presence is simply an after thought.
As someone coming from Asia too...Samsung doesn't have great customer support too ... lol . Apple is best but in all my years with phones I never had to reach out to customer support. But hey that's just me
I had shitty customer service with Samsung My s20 never received andriod 13 even though it was supposed to and Samsung customer service told me "sorry we can't update your phone it's the carrier" it's like how the hell can't you update your own phones it's your SOFTWARE!!
@@nanodesu9031 I think they may consider expanding their support if they see healthy sales and buzz for the global version. Why invest a lot of money in something when there’s only a few users?
I have two questions.... first is the performance. This is the first review I have seen where it performed worse than the ZF6 in sustained benchmarks, why is this? all other reviews it destroys the ZF6 where its not even close. Second.... is the outer screen a soft screen like the inner? or is it more traditional glass type. Thanks and great video!
Galaxy Fold 9 Ultra at 2024 by Honor. Samsung depends on US protectionism and they are getting lazy and greedy. Good job Vivo, Honor, Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo.
Like Apple in the United States and Samsung in South Korea, if only one brand dominates the market in a country, they will become lazy. There are ten brands competing with each other in China, and they are improving every year.
My theory is 3 things: 1) obviously samsung is dragging their feet. 2) they cant make it thinner if theyre going to do the internal s-pen (which they have been testing for years now) 3) they dont want a big camera bump
Samsung isn't going to have any trouble outselling honor's foldable. You can get a Fold 6 just about anywhere. Verizon, att, t-mobile, xfinity, us cellular... The Honor? You have to get that from Honor. Which means no financing option and no in store support. If you ask me Honor needs to get their ish together and make some freaking carrier agreements already so we can- you know, ACTUALLY BUY THEM.
I was going to by today Fold 6. But yesterday heard about V3. I bought V3 and saved 600 Euros! Samsung is too expensive and this V3 is fantastic. So thin!
The crazy part in all this is that samsung is still doing better in their sales with Z Fold series than that of its competition at least what it looks like for me. I've seen a lot of yters talk about how the the 6 isn't worth buying and yet it still performs better. Strange paradox. Idk, fact check me its just an assumption
Decent review but as a five year fold owner, Samsung devices will simply always be a solid investment, just like buying one of their TVs. No one would ever go to Walmart or Bestbuy to buy and Honor tv or phone device. People buy well known reliable quality..... Samsung, LG...etc
I always avoid Samsung tvs. Had to many of them fail and the colours are always not calibrated properly. Usually over saturated. Sony for TVs but yes the fold 6 is super reliable.
Lol, this video was supposed to be about how Samsung needs to wake up, but instead, it shows how Samsung is still winning in terms of refinement and the overall product package. With the way everyone talks about how these chinese phones are "way" ahead of Samsung's, you would think that these phones absolutely destroy the Z Fold 6, but they don't. The cameras across all of them are heavily comparable and even lose to the fold 6 in certain areas. The battery life is also comparable despite the heavily criticized smaller battery in the fold 6. The performance might be the best on the fold 6 of any of the foldables. Screen brightness is basically the same in real life when you're outside. Thinness is a change, but I wouldn't necessarily say it makes any of the other foldables better than the fold 6. For example, look at how Honor has to throttle the V3 to keep it from destroying its hyper thin self. The only areas the fold 6 actually loses in are battery size, charging speeds, and camera hardware (not necessarily performance or results). The universal opinion is that Samsung's software is the best, so what are we really buying these devices for? Thinness, a bigger outer screen, and weaker software?
He clearly says that the battery life is so much better on the honor, not to mention the embarrassing charging speed. The software difference seems very subjective since you can do anything on the honor that you can on the Samsung. The cameras on the honor are muchhh better. Here he mostly compared cameras during the day ... Which is silly. If you lower the light even a bit the honor humiliates it, not to even speak about zoom capabilities. So with better screens (inside and out) much better battery life and charging speeds, and considerably better cameras, there is simply no comparison
It does not matter what company is going to come out, with any new devices. Samsung, will still rule the market phone wise, and tv wise. From my perspective, when is about promoting their product, nobody can beat them. Even though some other products may be better than Samsung.
I don't agree with One UI. Maybe you think it's better because you use it more. One UI is horribly convoluted and confusing. Some things make no sense at all.
FYI Honor promised four years of updates and five years of security updates and my V2 has been updated regularly. Most people are unlikely to keep folds longer than 4-5 years.
Honor updates are really good, ive had at least 4 security updates in a month and the battery is Silicon Carbon, thinner, lighter and more powerful than Lithium ion. Think of honor as if it's a Huawei 😉
I do believe that Samsung can also make a thin and wider Z Fold. It just, instead of doing it in one interation, they do it in an incremental way so that they can call it a yearly improvement. BTW, based on GSMArena Battery test Z Fold 6 still perfom better despite Honor packing a larger battery
If someone values a software experience and update amplitude is clear that he will never buy Xiaomi realmi Huawei honor devices... And Samsung know that also. End of the story... Is our case, customers must vote (sales numbers) not companies. They know that is many complaining about slow hardware progress and so what?? Excel still shows great numbers year after year ...
Honor should increase the thickness and increase the battery size and also improve the cooling. 1-1.5 mm increase won't make much of a difference honestly
Can't believe how much more powerful the Apple chip is. I'm on a 15pro and like the honor but seeing it 40% slower really makes me wonder if it can hang.
The day i buy a chinese phone is the day I buy an iPhone. Most chinese phones dont last unless your a person in the minority that has had one for more than 2 years. Design definitely blows Samsung out of the water but there is a reason why you dont see a lot people importing or rocking them. Also the whole outer display argument is stupid and i eish people were smarter because i like how the Fold6 is. I didnt buy a folding phone to use the outer display. If thats how you are using your folding phone, i just dont get why you would spend the money. It would just be a small convience to you at the point to open up every now and then instead of pulljng out a small tablet
I see no reason to move up from a ZFold4. The Honor is not a viable alternative, although I prefer their form factor. Why would I want a phone with inferior software and support?
Everyone saying honor this, honor that but at the end of the day, most reviewers go back to their iphones. You can have the nicest hardware but people would choose experience over it. Regular updates and support is keeping Apple and Samsung ahead over the chinese brands and as long as it stays that way, I don't really see apple and samsung be threathened by chinese hardwares.
Samsung still beats the competition in foldable devices because they make small increments in changes each year. These companies making " the thinnest " foldables will have nothing to improve on in the future. It's the same as apple, it's smart business sense.

I am saying this since forever. Reason staying with samsung just because of the software.
@@pokoksawit i don't understand people shouting about Samsung software. What special is there? I used all the brands and honor software is not bad at all.
@everstar8056 Samsung is very good with regular security updates. Whereas Honor is known to be slow with updates. Some times going 6 plus months without and security updates.
I won't pay a penny to Samsung for a phone that doesn't have any hardware updates, we are still fighting the greed of Samsung and Apple
China's flagship phone already went ahead beating Samsung and iPhone. The leverage they have only because of US sanction over them. ZTE is already beating Samsung and iphone in slab and Huawei is already beating every foldable in existence with Mate XT.
boohoo
Eh, had my apple phone for 7 years, and it works great, can play all the phone games like Genshin HSR, camera lost a bit of quality when I accidentally left it in a fridge too long, but the phone works great overall and still getting updates, you really don't need the yearly or biyearly updates, once every 4-5 years is more than enough.
I agree with you on the candybar phones from samsung but not with the fold series
Samsung has been selling the same phone 3 years in a row and it's crazy expensive. This Honor is great, so thin and with a big battery, very impressive.
I’m impressed by it. I still like the pixel 9 pro fold better but this would be my second choice
@@MatthewMonizcan you compare them by any chance? im having hard time deciding which one to get (pixel vs honor)
😂😂😂 you sound butt hurt to be honest samsung been selling the same twice with upgrades. If you want to talk about the same phone in a row look at apple, apple been selling the same phone since 2019. 2020 was the updated version or they so call redesign. Literally the iPhone 16 is about to come out is 3 days and is the same phone since 2019
Honor phone are quite popular in the other side of the world and it's gunning down the throat of samsung as they keep sleeping on their technical hardware part. Even the software are catching up fast. Honor also committed to provide 5yrs of security updates and few major android updates too.
There is NO reason to get the Fold 6.. Samsung needs to do better!
I agree. I prefer the OnePlus open, pixel 9 pro fold and v3 over the fold 6

make sense: hire engineers from temu, they are the expert of making cheap things. so samsung profit can be increased exponentially.
I don't know, maybe my eyes suck, but I prefer the look of the cameras quality from the Honor Magic V3.
I have seen a few comparisons and there really isn’t much between them apart from subjective preference. The V3 is not even released yet so is likely to have updates to improve it, as may the Fold6.
It’s close when not pixel peeping on these photos.
I noticed that too , the photos from the Honor Fold look way better .
That will probably also result in a price drop from Samsung
Number two would be when affordable and more affordable options start to come to market.

Take a look at widgets or the costumization with iOS 18. Yes i know, you don't have full freedom but still what you get feels way much more premium
On the other hand Android widgets despite so many years feels like 💩.
When it comes to AI i dont feel like Samsung is better than the competition. We still have to wait till 2025 to see what all companies will reveal.
I like the apple approach to their AI. I better wait to get smth finished and polished the right way then get some chunky Samsung AI just for the sake of it
I own an Honor V2 and will be upgrading to a V3 soon. Been with Honor since Vs and never looked back
I have the zfold since launch. I also just bought the V3 last week.
Putting em side by side, i cant help but feel that V3 is much more posh and easy on the eye.
The fold just feels bulky and "few gen" behind. If u love bricks and industrial design, then its all cool. Or if u have super huge hands and loves bulky stuffs.
But in all honesty, Honor did blow many of the competition out of the water. For busy daily uses, it does pays to have faster charging etc. Every little thing counts.
*From someone who owns both and have practical day to day experience for both*
I text msg with one hand so I don't like wide phones. Even in Samsung I use the swipe and use the smaller one hand keyboard to make it work. Are these options there in v3? Can you please tell because none of the reviews mention it and for me this will be the deciding factor. Although everything looks better on v3 but because it's wide I m thinking one hand typing will be easier in z fold 6 ??? Can you help

In China, no one uses Samsung; it has no competitiveness at all. I estimate its market share isn't even 1%.
Last year we got the Oneplus Open, this year we have the Honor Magic V3, I just don’t understand why anyone would get the Fold 6 unless you live in the Samsung ecosystem, which I rarely hear anyone say that.
Software/Warranty..Ifsomething happens to your phone it would be a hassle to fix if you buy another fold besides Samsung.
Yet Samsung had the nerve to charge a hundred dollars more

Honor Magic V3 is the greatest phone I've ever had. Fold has made no significant changes in 5 generations since the Fold 2.
It’s getting better each generation but not a big jump like the Honor has brought to the market.
Samsung and Google are slacking behind because they can get away with it
Not just the Honor Magic V3, but also the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 all have better designs and hinges, but since so many of them are china-exclusive, they don't pose a threat to Samsung/Google.
I disagree with the hinge. Only the Z Fold can stay put in more angles.
If honor was in Brazil i would get in a heart beat, currently with the S24 Ultra but im itching to get a fold
You are right. V3 is a much better choice. I have it for almost a month now
Any complaints?
I actually really enjoy the small front screen on my Fold 5. It's so comfortable to use.
That's what im saying.
That's what i like the most about my fold 6.
Thanks for the comparison Matt.
You’re welcome!
Awesome video I think i may spring for the OnePlus Open 2 when it launches. I need to see more screen reliability from the users on Reddit.
Thanks! Im super curious to see how the OnePlus OPen 2 turns out. I was a huge fan over the original one.
Fun facts. In most part of Asia except Korea, Japan and taiwan, no body really uses samsung outdated phones anymore.
I miss Huawei challenging Samsung in the US, those were the days of innovation. But they basically killed Huawei off there with that government stuff and the google ban

So the bad parts? What an honor.
One thing I don't like about the Honor foldables is the front screen left and right curvatures are different. But they look very nice other than that
Yeah once you notice it very hard not to see it
Can you explain please? I don't understand what you mean by the curvature of the screen.
With the honor magic release price early bird offer, there is zero reason to buy the z-fold 6

Nice!! Let me know how you like it when it comes in
It's not that Samsung can not make equally good foldable like v3 nor they are lazy, it's because Samsung plays to the market where it sells most. Since they don't have much competition in these markets, they can get away with their inferior phones.
There are literally 10 phones with better hardware?
I love my Samsung Fold 6. I wish it had better battery, camera, and front screen, but love the software. The new square shape is perfect for me.
Samsung has fallen behind their competitors such as Honor, Vivo, OnePlus etc.
😂😂😂😂
wow, nobody else has mentioned the performance mode differences in their reviews of the Magic v3. Are all the other people paid shills or something? That's a very important selling point.
Most not all are paid for honor. This one is not. Also if it was I always mention it.
The red brown version as seen here is 9.3 mm thick and weighs 230 g.
It is really not dust resistance as it does not protect against anything under 1mm and most dust is smaller than that. It is really for marketing.
@@andyH_England Fair point. Wouldn’t want to get a foldable without a spine covering case.
@@yensteel I got a very nice free case with a spine covering on my V2 and the V3 comes with one. Similar Samsung versions are around £50-70.
The Fold 6 is only 22:9. It's not that different.
Matthew, Thank you for such amazing reviews! They are really helpful for us in making the right choices!
Yes Samsung getting real lazy each time they released Z Fold series. I am really disappointed now looking into V3 , I can only say Samsung you can forget it my money 💰 going to V3.
To me Design wise the samsung looks so much better specially with the sharp corners
It does need to be wider and slimmer tho
Yeah same. I'm a sucker for anything that has the industrial minimalism look. But I don't like the aspect ration when it's closed though
Thanks for providing a pretty balanced view of both amazing devices!
You’re very welcome!
Imo Software that accopanies the hardware is really important.
Though, competition is always a wake up call.
Great video. I have the Z Fold 6 and I couldn't be happier. I added the anti glare film for the front. I seriously feel like this is the perfect phone.
😂
Watching this video on my Honor Magic V3😂😂
I don't know about other markets, but in Portugal the Fold 6 is already being sold at €1100 less than a month after launch (in Portugal it launched at €2200, so a €1000 discount lol), so I got one 😂
For the price it's a very good phone
Using a now pixel nine Pro XL, a 15 Pro Max soon-to-be 16 Pro Max and a galaxy Z fold six as my main drivers it’s deplorable that Samsung doesn’t put in high-end cameras from their ultra line in these expensive phones. They should have the best cameras in them that is my single biggest grip for the price of these phones is that they can’t even have ultra/premiumspecs across-the-board especially sad when other brands let alone cheaper brands are doing better
is it me or did this video turn from the Honor to the Samsung Z Fold 6
my next fold phone will be a Honor Magic !!! everything is better: bigger screen, bigger battery, better camera overall, thinner and lighter, less expensive.
The repair of foldable screen phones is not only expensive but also inconvenient due to the specialized parts and technical requirements.
No problem for me as I never had to repair any phone the past 25 years 😁
Great concise review.
Thanks!
Consumers who ignored this warning found that their screens immediately malfunctioned, and the company refused to provide any after-sales service.😂
Sacrificing durability just to make something thinner is not an advancement in technology. Samsung had already mastered the technology to make devices thinner long ago. However, they refrained from commercializing it because ensuring durability required new materials or design methods.
Welp let's just say sacrificing cold resistant durability for something as niche as at -5°C is good marketing
Honor phones are all running on android platforms and all android apps and services are available
One thing is hardware. The other is software. And how both work together. For me personally the best worlds of both is the zfold 6. But best for me does not mean best for you. Test if you are able to and make your own decision. And have tons of fun afterwards…..😊

I think the software issues are subjective and can be addressed with updates! Downsides for Honor are minor and for the most part personal preference.
But hey that's just me
Seems like Chinese phone companies only care about pumping phones out
I had shitty customer service with Samsung
My s20 never received andriod 13 even though it was supposed to and Samsung customer service told me "sorry we can't update your phone it's the carrier" it's like how the hell can't you update your own phones it's your SOFTWARE!!
As someone from Asia too... When my 300$ xiaomi spoilt, I BUY A NEW ONE
If you see the new Huawei Tri-Fold (Mate XT), your video title would change to "RIP Samsung" 😅
I saw it! It looks insane!!
Bro really don't want us to get him wrong 😂😂
Don’t get me wrong!!!!
I was going to by today Fold 6. But yesterday heard about V3. I bought V3 and saved 600 Euros! Samsung is too expensive and this V3 is fantastic. So thin!
Hope prices drop with all the brands jumping on the folds now.
Great comparison ❤
Thank you!
Not sure what models TVs you had because their UHD models are the best! But Sony or LG are always a good investment as well.....cheers
I think charging isn't even that bad on the Fold. I use a 30W charger I got off Amazon and it charges the phone faster.
As a oneplusopen owner i'm not impressed by the v3 or fold 6. The Huawei is mind-blowing tho
I had the Samsung fold phone and I loved it but sadly I will never buy another Samsung as they don't honour the warranty on their products
OK OK, I get it. I am not going to get you wrong! By the way, nice review and comparison.
Honor phones should hire you as the design director of Honor😂😂
Can't believe how much more powerful the Apple chip is. I'm on a 15pro and like the honor but seeing it 40% slower really makes me wonder if it can hang.
I have a honor phone that have lower benchmark but it do not hang at all
The day i buy a chinese phone is the day I buy an iPhone.
Good overall comparison. But how can a "tech reviewer" still thinks camera mega pixels equals camera size?
to anyone asking.. the global magic v3 works on verizon, tmobile, at&t and all the other usa carriers but you need to import it, sites like wonda mobile or averagedad and then put your sim card in it. however you may not have wifi calling
Can you send and receive texts and text pictures? Thanks
@@ferretmom10 of course
As frustrating as it is, none of it matters in the US market. I dropped my phone constantly and if I can't get insurance on it 😢
No matter what samsung still win the sales except no one buying then maybe samsung will try change everything, but you know thats impossible people still prefer showing off than quality. You guys can read the comment all below still prefer samsung, thats how samsung is smart & arrogant no need change battery just input AI plus square design from fold 5 to fold 6, increase price for sure people will still buy it no matter what happen.
Yes i am ex samsung user, always got issue after update, not even a single year my samsung can last. Change to Vivo X Fold gen 1, its much better now.
EXACTLY. Samsung & some other "leading" manufacturers seem to be really behind Chinese innovators in some cases. If you do something well, some Chinese will do it better, that's the law 😅
The phone traded performance for what Is essentially aesthetics....I'm not sure I'd call that better.
