      Most definitely worth it! I know even my dog looks so bored with the sanding process haha.

    Need to invest in a large resin printer. My buddy has a large resing printer and he ABSOLUTLEY loves it

    • @ChrisBoshProps
      @ChrisBoshProps  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Don't think I'm quite ready yet. I could get a roll of PLA+ filament for 12 dollars versus a bottle of resin for 32 bucks. Twice the cost and a bottle of resin doesn't go nearly as far for the amount of prints you get. I might take the dive one day though! I'm kind of waiting for the technology to advance a little before investing but so far my Elegoo Saturn which is a medium size resin printer does very well for small intricate parts. Thanks for the comment!

    Hey Chris, you're a pro at this so you probably already know this little trick, but when I did mine, I used an old trick that Adam Savage talked about where once you're finished with painting is to use oil paint and smear/brush it on and then wipe it off the surface. The result is easy weathering that gave mine a neat grimey look that darkened crevices and made it look like it has served a tour of duty.

    • @ChrisBoshProps
      @ChrisBoshProps  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah that's a really cool trick or making a black acrylic wash works well also. I'm not sure how much I'm going to weather this helmet when done. I'm still hoping the paint job will come out good but we'll see. I do appreciate you sharing! Thanks for your comment.

    Print detailed parts in Z direction not in the XY plane. You will get way more details this way. You can also slightly tilt your model, say 30° and print it that way, for more details and less post processing.

    I'm sure that the Stan Winston studios must HATE 3d printing, but I believe people should be able to own replica film characters, especially as so much of it isnt made any longer, & when it was it was all limited edition stuff, only available whilst the film was popular

    • @ChrisBoshProps
      @ChrisBoshProps  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Exactly. 3D printing is a game changer and doesn't hide a lot of these iconic props behind a large paywall.

    Your build inspired me to try a t-800. I bought the entire endoskeleton file from the guy who did the head display you used. I printed the lower jaw to start. It seems small to me. Are the files 1:1 right out of the file?

    • @ChrisBoshProps
      @ChrisBoshProps  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's great man! Yes sir if I remember correctly the files are 1:1. The pieces do look smaller when they are printed but once you put everything together it looks just right.
