absolutely unbelievable work. i dont know a thing about what goes into cosplay / making gear like this but looks like a lot of care and effort. i just bought my first halo helmet this summer and i think its just the start
You know I've been trying to do this, and part of me is sad I couldn't finish in time to beat some people; and the other part is relieved that I have a framework in regards to the vacuum forming. Thank you.
Got inspired to Get a 3d printer from Watchinkg Frank's channel and yours! Specially for Star Wars! I don't have the skills to paint or sand down really but my Father in law loves this stuff! So I'll probably ask help from him! It's super inspiring seeing your channel fork like 5 years ago trying to find what works to see where it is now where you are making a fantastic marketing for it! Wonderful job!

you might consider using some panel liner on the visor to make the different panels pop, it kind of all blends together at the moment.... up to you though
Your channel inspired me to make my own armor. I ordered the files from your website and I am working on printing them out. I have a request, and maybe you already have done a video on this and I just can't it, but what visor material do you recommend? Thank you!
Just a thought, maybe use compressed air and try and spray it in between the two parts on the visor mold. This might help with pulling the two pieces apart. Ive done this before on similar things and it worked pretty well. Cheers.
What size holes did you use to drill into the visor buck? also what size holes are in the vacuum former? also any specific print settings for the visor buck? I assume about 25% infill should be strong enough to support the force?
I’ve been wondering if you can apply a reflective window tint to a round visor like the EVA helmets. Could it be heated and vacuum formed over it? Never used the stuff but it seems like something that would work
Just came across this video while looking for guidance on some different print projects I'm looking into, but I was wondering why you don't hydro chrome all your reflective visors if it is so durable? I was looking into the Master Chief Halo Infinite armor & helmet prints, but was probably going to order the visor and noticed that it says it is chrome painted on the inside and is very delicate. Is just cheaper and less time consuming to chrome paint the tinted halo visors or is this just something your phasing into still and haven't applied it on a wider scale yet?
Don’t quote me on this, but I’ve seen it in other videos. One common method is to 3D print it, then make sure it’s absolutely 100% smooth, then make a mold/cast of it. Normally the mold/cast is very flaccid though, so I’m unsure as to what keeps it rigid in this case.
How do you even get this visor on this helmet? I have been spending a couple hours trying to line it up, but trying to see how it fits on there is very cumbersome..
@@GalacticArmory thanks! Very tempted to start making my own helmets because of your videos. Good chance I buy a 3d printer and the annual patreon within the next couple of weeks:)
We have tried that many times. It won't work because there was a 90o angle around the rim of the visor that the plastic latches onto. It's now been fixed on our current mold!
So does he keep count and only limit himself to each kill. Thats stupid. Seems like he would just scratch in the skull. Or do tickmarks on the not visor. That lore sucks.
I feel like he probably just tells people that but really scratched the skull in all at once. It would be wierd to just randomly start carving up your visor.

Use compressed air to get the visor off the buck 😉
Have tried it, the bucks return edges are too deep - that's my fault though
Not sure who is doing your editing now but wow the video editing game has really leveled up.
I gave it over to the pros lol
I would love a ”printing tutorial” too. Thats where I am stuck 🤪
Omg i been waiting for this for so long, im so excited with these hydrochrome visors! instabuy 4 sure
Love Emile’s helmet! I’d love to see you do some sangheili helmet files to go with the Spartans.
Have you guys considered making a video on how to get a similar finish to a visor without hydrochrome?
Finally some halo builds 🤘🏻
Are yall going to sell hydrochromed visors? I’ve have my eyes on the Emile helmet for a minute.

Have you tried an air compressor to separate the master and the sheet?
Yep, the return edge is a bit too steep and all the holes drilled in the face prevent a good air gap from forming

Yes!
Will the Master Chief visors be hydro chromed now too?
How do you adhere your 3d printed helmet parts together?
How much did you have to thin down the 2k clear to get it to spray with an airbrush?
None at all, we use a HVLP gun and a 2K mix that is designed to be sprayed using this method!

Maybe try a blast of air from an air compressor between the mold and the plastic to better release them

Could you do a tron helmet? Legacy?
