    This somewhat can be considered a new definition of "sport tourers".
    A general similarity of such bikes like Multistrada 1200/1260S, BMW XR, KTM 890 SMT,... and this GX is they provide better comfort while you can ride fast. Also I agree with you, from listening to this video, the quickshifter is a little bit on the slower side that it sounds somewhat slower than a smooth clutchless upshift.
    And the electro-aids problem you mentioned is the first time ever I have heard from a Japanese bike.

      @@Schaaf It's not an electronics problem, but it's a Suzuki system that when it evaluates the instability of the bike at high speed, it takes away power similar to traction control. The side cases are causing the instability.

      The crossovers were somewhat invented by yamaha though All starting with the TDM 850 / 900 and now with the newer tracers. Just a shame they dont have a "Fullsized" Crossover bike, because for me the 900 would be lacking in torque.

      Hello,
      I can give you an overview because I have done 76,000 km on the Versys se 2020.
      The Versys is incredibly agile, but at low speeds the GX is better. The Versys is very stable in curves, even at high speed; it has a better brake. For a long trip as a duo, I would definitely keep the Versys. Torque is also better between 3000 and 5000.
      Then, after 1000 km on the Gx, I can say that it performs better. From 5500 revolutions, there is no photo. Much less inertia too. The pins sometimes remain a little...heavy (190/50 vs 180/55). The chassis is incredible with a more forward position. The rear brake is better, the front lacks bite (pads need to be changed).
      I have wonderful memories of the Versys.
      I would say the Versys: 14/20 and the Gx 16/20.

      Thanks mate! I'd love to be able to do that but just from memory I unfortunately can't. My guess would be that the XR provides a bit more stability. The GX a bit more power from the bottom. The GX's engine feels more satisfying to me. Wind protection was better on the XR with touring shield. But like I said, I'd need to ride them both for a decent verdict!

    I ride similar to you Schaaf (Italy, Alps), I own a Versys. Unfortunately those bikes don't have a proper rider position to really "inspire" you to go fast. I saw myself in this video: yes you can go fast...but you're not screaming inside. You'd scream with a 1000RR even if the power would be the same, the body position would do all the rest. I'd sell my versys any day, but can't as I always travel as a couple, so I'm stuck in this "comfortably boring" situation. Always ridden Ninjas before, NO COMPARISON

      Pre-crash was riding an unsafe line, braking at last possible moment, entering lean insanely fast without giving the bike any time to compose, going round blind corners way too fast. I didn't see much of that here. I'm aware of the risks I'm taking. I'm only endangering myself and I don't value my life very much. I appreciate your concern but it is completely unnecessary

    I though about this as my next bike but S1000XR won for just about $1500 more for same package (suzukis base price is low, but accesories are 2 - 3x more expensive than BMWs or Ducatis). Main disadvantage is windshield - no on fly regulation which would be bad even on a $10000 bike. Vibrations on my test ride were so bad i could hardly see anything in mirrors. It lacks comfort too for me. Lights are just bad - you can hardly see them from side.

    • @swissversyspeedrs4131
      @swissversyspeedrs4131 26 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hello,
      I drove 75,000 km with a Versys SE; many in duets.
      I just got the GX. The Suzuki is clearly superior in terms of chassis and engine. Much easier. The Versys has a little more torque between 3000 and 5000 rpm. Afterwards it's the festival on the Suzuki. I fitted a 47 sprocket because the ratios are a little long for my taste. (I also did it on the Versys). The fun is truly incredible on the GX. For traveling as a couple, the Versys will really be preferable.
      I mounted S22 on the GX and it is perfect; you have to ride hard at a minimum at a sustained pace.
      Greetings.

      This bike with the current VVT engine would have me running down to the dealer, this one….? Meh. And I’m their target customer for this bike.

    2:43 is the correct behavior by an IMU-equipped bike; pulling the bike further into the lean while at the same time having the throttle nearly full is the most common way of low-siding a motorcycle. A non-IMU bike equipped with traction control would cut power after the slide (ie the flashing amber light in your previous videos) but can do it so fast that you wouldn't even detect the slide.
    You can confirm this behavior by riding through a kink in the road. If you keep the throttle open and gently bend the bike through the turn then power is minimally cut. Or if you keep the throttle open and heave the bike through the kink then the power is cut dramatically.
    Finally, consider using considerably higher RPM's (which you were doing) in these kink areas as the TC can react far quicker and more precisely as it has more RPM's to cut the engine power or not. You can have a low-powered torque engine or a high-powered revy engine but you can't safely have both.

    • @Schaaf
      @Schaaf  27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      that's interesting to read and since I don't understand anything about these systems I can't say anything against it. Although I kind of doubt it's normal for the system to cut off power for almost two seconds?
