    Recently picked up a 2024 S1000GT+ in black just like yours. Added Helibars and a Sargent seat and can ride for hours. The bike came with a T-Rex Racing center stand which is a huge upgrade. I highly recommend that for all S1000GT owners.

    Great video! I came from the Kawasaki Ninja 1000sx and I've changed to the Suzuki GT you made the right decision. It's the better bike. It's definitely a riders bike.

      What was the major differences? I've been debating between the 2 and from most reviews the Kawi seems more refined but to me its borderline ugly. The GT+ looks pretty damn good and is cheaper with the bags from the factory already installed.

      @@ninji5226kawasaki has awful colors and patterns imo. They don't even know how to do a solid black properly next to the Suzuki!

    I have a '22, 15K miles now, and I see that many have made the same modifications. However, one can order the taller and wider Touring screen direct from Suzuki. It does a better job, but at 6"2", I also added a Puig visor. The only real issue I've found is locating a replacement air filter at a reasonable price. A shop manual is a good investment, as the bike is very easy to work on once the plastics are removed.
    I've replaced the stock brake pads as well to address the lackluster performance of the stock with EBC semi sintered, and found a great deal on a set of Dunlop RoadSmart 4 to replace the stock RoadSport 2. I went through 3 sets of the stock tires before upgrading, and looking forward to the longevity and enjoying the performance/handling boost. They indeed work better. I found a source for Ecstar R9000 oil, things seem to run smoother on full synthetic, especially the blipper. Added Denali fender mounted S4 aux lights to the front and their rear lights to the back. The last thing I'm going to splurge on is the Sargent seat that another poster recommended, the stock seat is not comfortable for touring, Suzuki should have gone premium on a GT bike.

    one of the things I like about mine is when sitting on the bike the view in front of you ie the cockpit area is very clean and uncluttered . The TFT screen is nice and big and clear. This is what I like about Suzukis, they have a very simple and clear design approach even when servicing and taking off bodywork, everything (for a motorcycle) is accessible unlike some other brands.

    I recently sold my Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic and bought a BMW F750 GS. I had ridden cruisers almost my whole adult life and it was a big change but I love it. It’s given me a whole new perspective on riding. Good video and have fun on the Suzuki, especially going fast on all those private roads outside the country. Got a chuckle over that. Ride safe!

    Great bike, congrats and enjoy. I bought a 23 MT-10 last year, and I love it, but it is pretty aggro for true sport touring especially without wind protection. I'll keep the MT because the engine alone is worth it, but may add a mile-eater like this Suzuki.

  • @Sprocket01

    When I bought my GT (black like yours) last year, both the regular and 'touring' screen were included. The touring screen is quite good. Also, I see you have the shift lights enabled. I would suggest raising the thresholds on them so you aren't lighting up at 4500 RPM.
    The kind of hidden, but excellent feature (in my mind) is having the display switch automatically between night and day modes by using a photosensor in the dash.

    I’m very tempted to try and find one. Having such a reliable engine with smooth yet aggressive power and a more upright style is ideal to me. I’ll be curious to see how it fits being 6’4”. I’m Uber comfy on my vstrom 1000 but would love something along these lines as well.

    I have a black 22' model. It's as if a GSX-R1000 donned a tuxedo. The bike is deceptively fast, especially once you flash the ecu and remove the factory restrictions.

    Test rode the GX1000 version. A fine bike indeed. Feels slower than an MT09 for some reason despite 30 horsepower up. The weight perhaps. Doesn't feel like a rocket like the Yamaha does. But it's plenty fast enough. Probably faster acceleration at highway speeds. The bike is well built, and has one of the best quick shifters I have tried.

    • @fearhand12
      @fearhand12 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I don't think it's the weight but the length of the bike. The suzuki is low and long which will make the bike feel less raucous but also more stable at high speed.

    Nah man, that can't be called a motorbike... but a damn airplane haha!
    I have had a Suzuki Katana 1000, until one month ago. Same engine and same chassi. What you wife said about speeding tickets, was completely right for me haha. I got a few after a year and I wanted to go back to a kind of "chill retro cruiser". So I have gotten a Bonneville T120. Reminds me of my old Sportster Roadster 1200. Comfortable, slow and strong. Great in nothing, but good in everything.
    However, listening to you has given me the enthusiam of having a great new bike. I guess you already know it, but your new bike is awesome. And the engine is pretty old (from the K6 Gsxr i think) which means pretty tested and reliable as hell. Suzuki is a great manufacturer. Plus, GT stands for travelling comfortable, far and, if you want, fast. At least that was the original meaning in the 80's in Europe.
    You sound nice and humble. I really wish you enjoy that bike for so many kilometers (or miles).
    Best regards from Spain!

      Thanks so much for the kind comment all the way from Spain! It is definitely nice to have the performance AND relative comfort of a GT. The Bonneville is such an amazing looking bike. That might need to be my next choice if I don't calm down on this Suzuki 😇

    How is the wind protection (helmet noise especially) with the windshield extension? Have you thought about getting the touring windscreen?

    • @slowridertv
      @slowridertv  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The touring windshield was temping but I hear a lot of people are not happy with it. The extension helps slightly. I feel it's well worth the $12 I paid for it, but it is still noisy enough that I feel the need to wear earplugs.
