having recently tested the M1000XR on track here in Italy (and after having recovered my jawbone from the ground, owing to the UNBELIEVABLE track attitude of such thing), I'm very glad to see that even the more "modest" Suzuki crossover shows a certain "happiness" in being tossed around a circuit!!! a very interesting eposode indeed!!!
Lamb’s got his chop out again 😂. Great vid buddy and you have just proved that it’s not the bike it’s the rider that makes all the difference plus every bikes fooking fun no matter the cc, make or style!!! Cheers for taking us along for the blat!
You just know the drinking was good (and heavy) the night before, when you wake up to a phone at 05:53 that says: "Face doesn't match!" 😁 Jolly good track riding, and I enjoyed watching it!
Well done brother Chopsie, I watched your video just after watching Fast Bikes magazine doing their stint. Your pace was brilliant. Gonna look how far away Cadwell is
That looked like a fun weekend, I guessing that 8R now has considerably less foot pegs onboard, your modifications have just made it so much more easy for the next guy or girl to throw round the track.
Love the new intro John. Showing up-to-date footage whilst keeping your brand 👍🏻 I'm sure the other 19 minutes will be of your usual calibre but just wanted to give you feedback as I know you're working hard to improve your channel. I'm looking forward to the banter between you and Al that I hope is coming in the next 19minutes when I stop wibbling on and press play again. Little bit drunk 'Pops'. Hope this comes across as positive feedback.
Yes unfortunately missing Al in the vid, he was there with his kids and wasn't staying in the evening. Had a good chat with him but unfortunately not on camera 🤪
Top class bit of track riding at Cadwell Park Chops’y you look great on every bike you rode buddy. I did make it on the Saturday and I was late getting there on Sunday so very sorry I missed it. Thank you for a cracking video buddy you really get the best out of them bikes on track and prove what the bikes are capable of. Hope it’s not too long before you are back at Cadwell and hopefully I get the chance to have a few words.
Really enjoyable vid Chops. Suzuki live looks like a great event as ever. The GX is seemingly a comfy do everything track weapon once you put some decent tyres on. Very glad you've got it as long termer as it's really underrated & has bags of potential imo. Also glad you liked the GSX8R & looking forward to yours & Greg's impressions, if he can tear himself away from his new Tuono that is. ; )
Meet you Saturday just as you got the tent up had a good chat with you an another chap, got a photo and watched you around the track. Gregoreo didn't make it though shame, great day 🏍🏍🏍🏍
Thanks John , that was a great video. Hope Suzuki does something similar one day down here in Oz now that I'm back in the fold and enjoying retirement on two wheels 😁
Great video as always 😁😁😁😁 How would you compare the GX suspension to a GT suspension? Its nice to have semi active suspension for preload setting, but if it lacks feedback, its no good...
Enjoyed that I did a track day there 20years ago on my GSXR600k1 identical to the one you kept passing. I think this video proves what a good bike the GX is and has done it no harm at all after a lot of average reviews online. Btw the front of that 8R is so ugly!! Saying that the back with that long numberplate hanger isn't much better
Hey Lamb Chops. Im very near buying a GX. Came from a R1250GS. loved it. Wanted something a little lighter and more sporty(looking too). Have you experienced the hot start rattle from the tining chain? Also just saw a guy in a video say it was wabbly in the turn when pressed and the bike senses it and lowers power to compensate. Have you experienced that? It sure didn't look like it! Any dislikes? I think I've watched all your videos on this bike including the lextech exhaust one. Thank you for doing that! Cant wait to see the results on the dyno.
Good questions, rattle I've noticed a very slight one occasionally. Its nothing to worry about in my view. There is also the stability detection you mentioned but I never notice it, if your not smooth moving across the bike it can sometimes activate. I only ever noticed it on track not on the road. It's really not something to worry about just keeps you smooth with the bike which is no bad thing. I've done 3k miles on mine now and absolutely love it
Enjoyed the video. I'm interested on your opinions regarding the 8r. Here in the states there are lots of aftermarket performance goodies and ecu flashes etc. Is there a dedicated review coming?
I rode my Suzuki GT (flashed tuned at the time with stock exhaust) to test ride the XR. Biggest thing I remember was being surprised at the lack of midrange punch on the XR. I felt like my bike had more midrange. We all know the XR's top end is stronger. I haven't ridden the GX but I highly doubt the differences are night and day between it and an XR. I remember expecting to be blown away by the XR's "superior" performance only to come away a bit underwhelmed. The XR might "feel" a bit more premium but for the money, it damn well should.
FAST BIKES is doing a GSX-8R Project bike series, taking a stock bike and upgrading parts to make it a race spec super bike. I'm looking forward to seeing the result
Hi chopsy, Was nice to meet you at cadwell and have a quick chat, I,ve been watching your vids nearly 4 years since you convinced me to buy a new s1000rr, (The old mans sports tourer), 6 years your senior . Qudos for taking the GSXS round the track and then riding the 4 hours home. I bet that rear sportsmart did,nt feel quite so good on the way home. What happend to mavis? did she die ? Ps keep that front wheel up.
At 3:34 I noticed a windscreen extension by Puig that looks very adjustable. I did a search for it and could not find it. Is that a production item that is currently available?
I don't think it's as quick as the GT. Only thing I would miss is the electronic suspension. For my GT nice track day. GT looks better as well. More of a mean look. GX would be better for touring though Suzuki needs something with more clout maybe a GT with a VVR .
Isn't Cadwell a fantastic looking track, it has everything. I remember when I was a kid watching BSB, Formula 3, Formula Ford, BTCC etc here on Irish tele. Superb, it's like a rich guys plaything of a track. If Scalextric made an actual track......
@@LambChopRides Have a look at Lomo, they do some great dry bags and the prices are decent. A pair of 30L dry bag soft panniers, with the 60L holdall on top, would give you loads of storage space. They're easy to put on and off, because everything fits over the pillion seat. I've been using one of their 15L yellow holdalls for years, it comes in very handy. There's also the option of a 'U' shaped bag, but everything is in one large bag. It could be a right pain if you want something, and it's stuck at the bottom of the bag! 😬

This was great. You are the perfect GX ambassador, Chopsey👍I Hope Suzuki appreciates your effort.
Doing a wheelie on such a big and heavy motorcycle requires great skills. 💪 Congratulations!

Thanks Kelvin 👍
What a brilliant day. Nice footage on track. The bike looks good, I wouldn’t mind a blast on that.
Cool video, great on board stuff. Obviously had a great time on and around the track . 👍.

As I mentioned in your first video about getting this bike - you can see the mirrors vibrating like hell. Well done though for taking it on track 👍🏻
At 10:12 is that Simon Hargreaves from Bennett's Bikesocial on guitar?

Yes completely agree, the launch really didn't show the bike off to its best if I'm honest. Tyres changed and it's epic!
Awesome weekend, and I was on the blue GT you overtook between Coppice and Charlies 😊
Love Cadwell, Love Suzuki and Cult cover with a beer what more could you want! Shame you couldn't take out #34 for a few laps my first biking hero! 🔥🔥
Wouldnt that be amazing!!
This bike is awesome 👌 and you are also. Sounded like a good time 🎉
I'm going to get over to this event hopefully next year,, with my K6GSXR,, and meet loads of other SUZUKI fans ,,☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️ from northern Ireland
Definitely going to go next year , looks like a cracking weekend, great vid sir Chops 👍🏻 🏍
Thanks Wayne it's a great weekend 🙌
I laughed so hard when you "woke up"
What great fun👌👍
Hi fella you mentioned new tyres but did you change to 55 profile
Great video. Does that red Busa have more room than your own Gixer 1K ?? Which would you prefer and why please? I'm thinking of changing my bike.

You’ve come up with a new race series Chops “ King of the Sleeping Baggers” with all that gear! A win in the novice is still a win John 👍
Suzuki weekend looked great and I'm going to come along next year even though i don't own a Suzuki.
You had your Hero lid on that day, great stuff
So nice testing mate
Thats a rather precarious loading of your tent and other "Stuff" on that Bike ..wow !!
It's wasn't going anywhere 😅
Fabulous event and track setting. I don’t think Suzuki does anything like this in the USA🙁
Great video. about lap times on GX? Do you have any data?
Good job! Nice wheelies 😎👍

Yes certainly is Chris, only reason I havent tested it already as was planning a big comparison test. I will get it sorted

awesome riding !
hooning that thing! Nice work
Thanks 👍
Nice answer to the people talking about high speed wobbles. Just dial in your suspension guys.
Yeah it's absolutely fine in regards to that, stock tyres are rubbish and need to be changed. Absolutely transformed the bike!
Nice bike and nice beard👏
Thanks! 😃
How does the fair against the more expensive XR? On road? An ex demo GX is around 11.5-12k which is very appealing.
Full comparison review coming soon 👍
Happy days
so which one do you prefer? this one or the tracer 9 gt+?
It’s great cadwell

A is a bit too aggressive when you want to be smooth. I thought I had hard suspension however but seems it was only in medium! 🤪
