I love the little details of Sojourn already knowing the agent was coming and planning for it. Gives her the identity of being a well-connected and resourceful tactician

Not only that, but rewatch the video. The two guys she contacted at the end were there early on hidden: the delivery driver and the guy on the roof as she enters her home.

@@xtrem5428 those were both Trombley's support, CSIS agents. Sojourn broke into their communications and started giving them orders.

Overwatch cinematics never disappoint, everything else does but not the cinematics 😅
The Art team never dissapoints. That goes for the in-game art/concept art, etc.

I do feel this Cinematic was a bit lackluster. Like yes, we know invasion is happening, and we already know Soujourn is a taction as former captain of the Overwatch Strike Team. This just feels like Character Building, Aside from the strike the night before the invasion, Nothing happens. Soujourn almost gets locked up for breaking protocol, Dog gets Croissant, Invasion happens. This has NO lead to story, like "Dragons" or even "Alive". Yes Art department knocks it out of the park, but this is by far one of their WORST in my opinion.

@@o0_VanYsH_0o Was thinking the same, it felt really more like a hero introduction than a character building cinematic. Feels alot like it was originally planned as a hero introduction but they didn't finish in time.

I have the same wish, but arcane took 6 years to finish and Overwatch has been out for 7. I think we still need to wait a few years for something similar.

Nah it took so long because they were securing funding, prototyping, re-making a pilot a lot of times. Actual production was like 3 years if i remember, next one will probably come faster because they have the pipeline going@@mrj1299

Murphy is a very cute animated dog. I love her and Sojourn needs an emote or victory pose with her. I’m also hyped for pve now.

Forcing you to go in game to watch it makes so much sense. They know the cinematics are the only thing that doesn't make everybody mad, may as well force people to redownload/re-engage with the game to be able to watch it.

There’s a ton of subtlety to this one. Sojourn knows Noah is going to show up, that’s why she gets a second coffee. She instantly identifies where the other two CSIS agents are.
I cry when I watch this. Overwatch is such a great IP with untouched characters and lore… it really is frustrating how they dropped the ball on OW2
I always tear up at the cinematics. They make me remember how much I loved everything about Overwatch.

I got to say I hope we see more of Agent Trombley! Finally some First Nations representation! I only hope we see more of that representation! I'm actually so happy about that because it's in Canada and I was so concerned that they'd just make anyone else in the short not a part of Overwatch just super generic but I actually thought his character was interesting and plays nicely against Sojourn until the end when he knows we need her leadership and then the cool gun trick at the end with one hand so fucking cool! I'm over the moon happy!
Cinematic is great, was this cinematic meant to be released alongside season 1? Kiriko and Junker Queen got theirs, so it would make sense for sojourn to get hers too.
I have a feeling it was meant to be released alongside the PvE release, but now it's just for this invasion event

this was such a good cinematic. The animation is amazing, great fight scenes, great twist with her house turning into a command center, MURPHY 💜, and the references to her voicelines like “it’s all connected” and ofc “croissant” lol. Love love love it

I think in a voice line Sojourn and someone talk about her prosthetics being outdated so it would stand to reason she would have a few arms and legs laying around for spare parts. Also we need coffee guy as a playable character. He is already in the posters in game and is pictured beside Sojourn and the agent in the picture so we know he can fight.

My guy, 3 small missions for 15 bucks isn't what was promised. Just because they are giving out these little missions doesn't mean people will just forgive them, same for what I said on top. They deserve all the criticism they get.

One of the reasons I like overwatch is because of the characters and I appreciate that a good amount of the cast, are veterans of some kind, either it be from a war, battle, or horrific event in their past. Many of them are broken people that are just trying to live a normal life now. It's cinematics like this that I really appreciate where we can just have the character existing, doing their own things, and reflecting on their past and their actions in the past. Seeing how, even tho they are trying to be different people, but struggle to because of the connections to their past, past regrets, unfinished business, and/or that past still haunts them for whatever reason.
Man, this cinematic would be a perfect setup to a short mission where you play as Sojourn to start a single-player Campaign. Would be cool if that existed.

Besides the marvel ass writing, their animation and score combined with the lighting intensity and perfectly mixed soundtrack, make them always have a certain feeling that other game animations don't

These are all made well, they pull at the heartstrings, patriotism n' all that. Almost bring you to tears! I hope one day all heros have an ingame accessable cinematic (including the ones already made that arn't currently in the ingame hero gallery)
Just watching retired vets and seeing how they adjust to life outside of conflict is always interesting to see. Along with them still having urges to go back and fight because they feel after all the trauma they've endured, they're no longer fit to live a normal life like everyone else and begin to hate themselves when they feel like they can't fight for something, someone, or for what they believe in.
