@@prizory1101Actually, the corporate are the ones who make the stupid decisions that are leading to disaster in most of the company’s games. The reason as to why balance, ranked and so on are in a questionable state right now is simply because these teams are completely new, they don’t know the full history and don’t yet have a clear understanding of the game. I personally believe that Aaron and the other devs have done a decent job at somehow maintaining the game with the little resources and support they’re given by Blizzard, and you have to give them credit when they don’t fully understand the game just yet, which is why you see the balance team “experimenting” with new things balance wise.

Seeing flat just now recognize that aurora is the iris speaks volumes on how little the OW lore is even made aware of. If money is being cut to the PVE skill trees more needs to be put into animated shorts

That’s slightly inaccurate. Aurora is not the Iris. It’s described to be a state of being; more like Nirvana, rather than Brahma.

My best friend and I used to talk about how an Arcane or Cyberpunk, hell even Avatar styled Overwatch animated series would be immaculate. I think going the Arcane route with an ATLA feel and style would be the best for them

Adter watching this mini series, the first thing that popped up in my head was a certain interaction between 2 in-game heroes, Echo and Moira, and it goes:
Echo: “Dr. Liao was not fond of you.”
Moira: “Was she any fonder of *you?*
Echo: “Of course. *I was her life’s work.”*
Moira: “It seems to me that *she was far more taken by your predecessor.”*
After hearing the interaction in the game after watching the series, I was like: “Oh yeah, now that makes much more sense now.” 😂🤣
This just makes me even sadder for what a dedicated Overwatch PVE mode could have been.
blizzards animation team, storyboard team, and design team are genuinely 11/10 people, their talent is wasted on blizzard, and they could legitimately take on titans like disney and come out on top.
i really hope blizzard gives these people the recognition they deserve because they are the biggest reason overwatch is still even ALIVE to this day.

I started playing overwatch because the art appealed so hard to me, I still just love it so much, and because the cinematics are too good. Thats why I collected all 'The art of Overwatch' books and 'The Cinematic art of Overwatch' books, if you are an artist like me and you like this game you will LOVE those books! The Omnic Crisis had the perfect oppertunity to become a Second Renaissance.
Wait, if aurora gave sentience to all omnics, does that mean that the roombas on horizon and Paris are living, sentient beings that we’re allowed to just straight up murder?
Well the thing is, ramattra says omnics are finite. What this means is when aurora sacrificed herself all omnics that existed then gained sentience, but any that were made afterwards do not have it. They are a single generation, which is why ramattra is taking action instead of letting more of his people get killed.

I don't know why ramattra is the villain in overwatch, i hope they really handle his defeat or whatever well, though i dont have much faith. He was just another ravager fighting in this war under the control of Anubis, he got his freedom through aurora and heard her message. All the omnics that were alive at that point did, but any that were created afterwards, except like orisa and possibly echo, didnt. They are only a single generation, and instead of waiting around like Mondatta and the rest of the monks did, hes taking action because his people are extremely finite and being murdered. So like- hes literally not wrong--
That scene in Part 2: Innocence showed 1 Tank, 3 DPS, and 1 Support. Was this made to emulate open queue where you could have any number of roles in the five-man team? I mean, Soldier, Reaper, or Torb would've had to be replaced to match the current role queue limit of 1 Tank, 2 Assassins (AKA "DPS" or whatever you want to call them), and 2 Supports.

Reminds me of Team Fortress 2 where adult swim greenlit with valve to make a 10 episode animated series. But it never came through because valve was lazy and too slow to make even just 1 episode. We finally got that episode with the expiration day short, that was supposed to be the pilot for the TV show. The comic series was the plot for the other episodes, and those comics never got finished either, stopping at issue 6.
Blizzard, like valve, sits on a goldmine IP, with beloved characters and endless story potential. But they aren't using it. Valve is due to lazyness and lack of commitment where as with blizzard I think it's more due to greed and top executives not giving a single flying fuck.
Seems the only studio who understand the value of branching into other media is CDPR with edgerunners and Riot with Arcane. Every other game company with big established IP's not making TV shows are missing out, and always will miss their potential.
I like valve's slowness to release new IP, they don't send anything out they aren't 100% confident is amazing, you know if it's a valve product it's good

The Rainbow Six Siege and the Overwatch Animations, both CGI and Animated, are better than their games by a long run. But, they’re also way too short leaving viewers wanting more.
This is probably going to end up like Cyberpunk Edgerunners, however it won't make the game better, due to blizzard's way of screwing over it's own fanbase for money. Damn shame. (Also I always thought some missions would be better off if they had a solo part for each player, then they group up together for the last part. like how they did in the old Gears of War games.)
A bit exposition heavy, too much recounting in flashbacks. I hope the next chapters bring more action and character arcs.

Honestly this mini series is awful. 15 fps... a majority static images.... Incredibly low quality animation that's about as bad as DC studios movies....
With the production quality they can put out for the hero shorts... This is shameful... They can literally do CG animation on par with dreameworks and we get this sad animation quality... they should be delivering us animation on par with attack on Titan, the 1000 year blood war, or baki hanma.... Or why don't we get a full on CG animated series..
All around this series is absolute trash. Especially from the perspective of me. I animated better animation in middle school 20 years ago in Macromedia Flash MX home studio, and by myself with no production team.... like significantly better, it's sad.
