Theses cameras are a scam. I bought 3 within a week. They all seemed perfect within 12 hours. After that, good luck. You have no control over these insta cameras. They do what they want

Is this a good camera for like streams and twitch?
Great video and especially pointing out some different things to consider as you mentioned different from other review videos. I am slightly torn as I like the x3 for the bullet mode and the 'me' mode etc I am considering using this for DJ entertainment and am worried about the low light situation. Naturally I am in spaces where the lighting is lower (not completely) off. I am curious when you went into the elevator or lower lighting you stated that you can toggle between standard and another setting in low light did you find it made the video sharper? I have looked at the RS one inch edition as well but I don't like some of the lack of other video features. Curious your thoughts....
There are settings for the sharpness you can adjust but probably the elevator footage is the best indication of how it will do in lower light conditions. Hope this helps!
In Low light you want to turn sharpness to low....otherwise it will cause artifacts trying to sharpen moving video. They really shine in full sunlight.... but you can still get great results in lower light situations, especially if you go into manual mode and set the ISO and shutter speed to match the conditions you are shooting in. A GoPro might give you better results in low light, or an expensive Lens on a good DSLR but if you looked at the one inch edition, then the X3 wont be any better in low light as its sensor is smaller. It does however have other features that make it a better choice for some. I shoot mostly Live Music video and I love mine.... but there are still times I will use the DJI Pocket on a Wiral or the Sony Alpha cams or one of the Nikons if the front lighting isn't up to par

Opinion seems to be divided about lens covers. Some say they degrade the image, particularly in sunlight, and they scratch easily so you have to be just as careful with those as with the naked lens. On the other hand, if you are using the camera in 'action' situations, indeed the lenses are somewhat exposed. But if your uses are not too inherently risky, then just get into the habit of treating the lenses like glass - well, they are! - and use the provided cover either to completely protect the camera, or as a cushion if you need to put the camera down for a moment.
You do have to think a bit about which way the camera is pointing so that the likely subject isn't in the stitch line, particularly if it's close to the camera. But yes, it's not crucial because everything is freely reframed later.
The downside with using the phone app for reframing is that it's hard to know whether you've cropped in too much - your phone might not reveal unpleasant pixellation that only becomes clear when you see the image on a proper screen.
The wind noise reduction option in the sound settings significantly degrades the sound, whether there's wind or not, and it's only mono. Personally I prefer having a bit of wind noise but with proper stereo audio without that processed sound - but it's a matter of personal taste of course.
Thanks for the feedback. the lens covers can and do scratch but it's better than the lens itself and like you mentioned, they are, ultimately, more glass. It why when I'm out using the X3, I'll bring the lens cap to make sure I'm not placing the camera down directly on surfaces.

I stopped using my plastic lens guard. it ruin my shots. I'll just be more careful not scratching my lens for now. I'll just wait until insta360 releases glass lens protector for X3.
Great review. A question...must it be the selfie stick provided by Insta360? I wondered about this and haven't seen anyone mention it. Is it their selfie stick that the camera doesn't see it, or any black selfie stick?
Any straight selfie stick works. It doesn't even have to be black. Don't put a ball joint on the selfie stick. Also if you use a very long or flexible selfie stick it won't all be hidden.

I am curious to know if the clear lens guards cause distortion or unwanted glare? I have used a GoPro Fusion for a couple of years I’m just extra careful not to scratch its lenses. They did have an aftermarket company making clear covers but people complained they caused issues. Just wondering what you have experienced. Thank you great video.

We ordered an insta 360 X to day i have shot more then 3000 32 MP Photo spheres on Google Street View with an ONE X and wonder if the Insta360 X3 really shoot in 72 MP ?
It isnt really 72MP it is a bit of digital magic they use to double the resolution vertically and horizontally. The image sensor is only 28MP.
how about the lens flare when pointing light source after you put the lens guard? some said that it reduce sharpness and add unnecessary lens flare because you add more element in front of the lens
You can check through the footage to see for yourself but it's not an issue I've come across.

There are 2 big issues with this:
1. It's fish eye distortion is very noticeable.
2. Video quality noticeable lower than go pro.
So get a GoPro max?

honestly, im ok with my gopro 9, one thing that i amaze only with this camera insta 360 was its me mode that's it, and the rest nothing....

Which micro sd cards are the best ones to use with X3?
(There is a list - given by Insta360 support - of micro sd cards which are compatible with X3. The problem is, the list is too short and can easily create annoying questions like: now that Sandisk Extreme V30 A2 256 GB and Sandisk Extreme Pro V30 A2 1 TB are compatible, should we suppose that Sandisk Elite Extreme Plus V30 A2 1 TB is compatible too?)
Best to reach out to them directly to be sure, but most common V30 cards should be compatible.
SanDisk Extreme Pro 128's have worked great for me in both the X2 and X3
I've been using and filming with it recently. How to you get rid of the stich lines? My stich lines are very bad even in me mode.
Camera angle can be a factor but if you have the lens guards on, make sure you have the stitching setting on in the settings.

Try to avoid pointing the edges of the camera at your subject and see if this helps.

just get Ulanzi selfie stick, has 1.4m, a tripod included and also has that neat magnetic lock mounting system. Is a bit bulkier though but has much more features for the same price

Yesterday was a long day... my mistake.
I heard that if one is going to be using their X3 underwater, that it might be wise to get a selfish stick that won't rust, etc. Your thoughts and can you recommend one? ( great video by the way!)
I'm pretty happy with the invisible selfie stick. Just make sure to rinse it with fresh water when you're done, if you're using it in saltwater.
Grab the extended selfie stick...its carbon fiber so OK to use in Salt Water and is light. You can extend it over 9 feet if need be to get shots from the surface, or use it collapsed or any length required. You will also want the underwater case if you want good underwater footage. The camera IS waterproof to 30 feet, but the video isnt the greatest without the case and it allows deeper diving as well
Something you definitely need to know about all of the Insta360 360 cameras is that they create a 15 second gap in your footage when you record longer than 30min.
What do you mean by that? It records 30 min stops for 15 seconds and records again for 30 min?
@@ai.manipulator imagine you need to record an event that lasts 45min. At 30min the camera will stop recording to create a new file so that it can keep recording and that process takes 15,9seconds during which time it is not recording, introducing a gap in your footage. If you need to record for 1h10min you will end up with two gaps....
I bought brand new X3. The first time I used it, after 20 minutes, the recording stopped due to overheating. I found many complaints about overheating. Did you encounter this issue? What SD card brand are you using?
Never had any overheating issues.
I've been waiting over a month on how to get my camera to recognize my phone and do something useful. So far, I am not a happy camper. Someone please respond to how they set it up?

1TB is the max recommended storage.
We need to add that the X3 does not do Webcam, and the 5.7K's you can't really export on that format...? at least I do not know how
what about heating issue since most of the action camera has heating issue
I haven't had any issues in a variety of environments.

The biggest problem is slow editing when blogging, as the app does not show a waveform track to quick search for voice clips, and crop the silence.
So it not a mov file ?

Once it's in 360 original file, you must edit it using instaApp plug-ins which misses a waveform to quick search your clips. But once you export, you would export in mp4 or mov, then run your next steps of edits.

The lenses sticking out is a major problem for scratches every time you put it down
The lens cap, case, or covers are a must.
I’m considering it the lenses need to be replaceable I think if they can do that they’ll have it in the bag

There seems to be fish-eye distortion in all the videos he shows that were taken by the Insta360. Has anyone else noticed it?
One thing they don’t tell you is that the video and audio gets off sync after recording 20min. I’ve got 2 replacement cameras and all 3 cameras have the same issue. Buyers beware.

The whole sphere is 5.7k. It outputs 16:9 1080p.
DONT BUY THIS INSTA360 X3 : I bought this camera recently. It has overheating issue. No one saying this in review.... all are paid reviews.... initially I thought it was a defect and I raised for replacement. They gave new one after many fights and discussion... again I'm having the same issue in new one also. I raised this issue to customer care.. they are saying it is the behaviour of this camera... I was terribly disappointed.. No one speaking about this in any reviews......
so should i stick with my GOPRO?
Havnt had that happen here...... I usually go through a couple batteries and only time its shut down was when battery was dead or SD Card full. Where are you using it?

Duh!!!!!! Why didn't you talk about we need to activate this camera before you can even use it. And that older phones, even my Android 4G phone, are not compatible to activate the Insta360 camera and the Insta360 app will not install on older phones or older IPAD's, etc.
Note: I don't have an Insta360 camera right now until I get a device to activate the camera. Probably will be an IPAD since I don't want another phone just for cameras. My current 4G Android is a 100% fully updated good working phone.
What did you use to activate the Insta360 camera??? Nobody wants to talk about this and did you have any problems connecting to the camera?????

@@zharienab5537 yes, as it will give much more piece of mind. There are drawbacks like the footage gets worse (the covers are low quality plastic) and more flares visible . Some footage also have worse stitching. It’s a bit of giving and taking.
