- The latest Insta360 X3 camera is very versatile but takes way too long to learn all the tricks, tips, ins and outs.
I wanted a great out- of- the box solution for my Las Vegas real estate and will stick with my high quality phone and microphone.
Some of the issues: complicated software, unfriendly editing process, poor audio, and cannot add music on the laptop Studio app.
I bet the next version comes out soon, and your X3 will have less value.
Still, It's a great camera if you have a LOT of time to make videos.

I like this kind of videos where normal users do a review
Thanks Carlos! Will try to do more videos like that, as you say, normal users.
I love the camera and do the editing in Adobe Premiere. Its not a big deal if you know what to do.
true, if you are willing to download the file via USB-C to a third party program from the camera, but Insta360 claims their app is so great. Tks for commenting.
You don’t have to be real bright to be a realtor.
Totally agree sir! Returning mine as well. Alot of work for simple shot.
Thanks for comment and glad I helped.
As you said, it's too complicated, and I can't afford the time. The only way I would buy this so-called camera would be if there was a “development” type service. Like Kodak or Polaroid: send them the “roll of film" they process it and send it back. TH-cam presenters make it look so simple. If Insta360 X3 had explained anything about what else was required, I would have saved my time and money. I'll stick to my Nikon Coolpix.
That really2x correct. Nice job sir. I also quit insta 360 because its not a quick edit... It usually heat up my phone when downloading the 360 video to my phone
Thanks for sharing!
Thid camera u can use it in single lense mode for those eho want quivk edits 4k,3k,2.7k1080p,,u dont hahe to use it in 360 mode all the time ,,u only use it in 360 when u wana capture a scene u noy sure what angle u wanna show and even so u dont capture 3hours just the places u need ,,even go pro has issues sometimes doesnt charge etc ,dji osmo action 3 is best but i prefer insta 360 koz i dont shoot 50 hours of video i shoot small clips for later edits
Yes time is required on anything, so if I wanted to do a 1 video file, hte 360 vid has to get processed, tehn keyframed, then rendered, then I can work on my videos, too much time if asked. so i was again thinking of a 360 camera but do I have time, all the time in the world but not really. I hear exactly why you are returning and totally agree. excellent pointers
thanks for the feedback!
Snap editing through the app is by far the easiest way of editing and exporting...give that a try I promise you it will make it all seem extremely simple from there...normal editing takes time with keyframes etc..Snap editing is for on the go easy editing
good tip on Snap editing feature.
True
I learned most of it in a few hours, mostly hands-on playing around with it. Maybe that's too long for some people. But it's fun to do, and a good skill to have if you shoot video.
Thanks for the reply and glad it worked out.
I can't seem to find videos of learning how to reframe and edit a 360 video, and KEEPING it a 360 video. apparently you need to spend BIG $$ for that feature
I love my X3 but I've used 360 cameras for a long time so I don't find it hard to edit. However, it is certainly more work than a standard camera from an edit perspective. I do wish Insta360 would invest more in their desktop software because it does lack some important features. But I use Davinci Resolve for editing so this isn't a deal breaker for me. Anyway, if you don't need the ability to capture a 360 video and reframe later, then you don't need a 360 camera.
Thanks for your insightful comments.
Agree sir. New subscriber.
Don't quite get it , the app even does the editing for you if you don't wish to edit yourself , I found after buying mine after a little time researching what to do I was making fantastic shots within a couple of hours
Glad it worked for you. But the time to edit the clips, move the files from camera to app and maybe to laptop and then to a 3d party editor to get it all right, was not worth it to me.
Did u update to firmware 1.066
I agree too much work…
I guess I missed what camera you went to that you can leave the footage in the camera and edit without an app. 😳
Hi. My point is that to edit the video the company says you can use the app, but a hundred TH-cam vids says move the file to a desktop and use Insta360 Studio software, which has more functions, exports at a higher quality than the app, and is just more serious. It's just tedious and even Insta360 says move the file "to a desktop."
Expectations require effort.
Maybe hire a real estate photographer. Now, you can appreciate what they're worth. It's more than point, shoot and upload
For sure, if doing a Listing and posting images or video on the MLS, a professional is the way to go.
