Agree! Don’t waste your time and money. It’s an overpriced trash! I have had the smart sound bar 900 for about 2 years, and I can definitely tell you that it’s not worth the price at all!
Don't go to this website people. It's just ads on top of ads and impossible to see anything and if you click close on any ad, it'll link you to a dodgy site
I tinkered with my soundbar for days. You made it so easy!!! Thank you! The Bose website and manual is trash!
Glad it helped!
Simple yet effective. It worked! Thank you so much.
Glad it helped!
Bose 700 here. We relocated system and after plugging in, Our universal remote was not controlling TV or cable box anymore. Several days of trying to add TV or box, remove remote and pair again . Nothing was working. Finally went with HARD RESET, and everything back to normal. Thank you!!!!
Wow, sounds like you had quite the adventure with your Bose 700 there. Relocating tech can sometimes feel like you're asking it to relearn everything it knew, huh? But awesome to hear the hard reset did the trick! It's like the good ol' "turn it off and on again" but on steroids. Thanks for dropping by to share your success - it's super helpful for anyone else who might be in the same boat.
Where is the Power Button at soundbar 700? I have only mute button auf the other one where the bass comes
When purchased my 900 two weeks after Bose released it the issues were endless to the point I was seriously considering returning it but I decided to give it a chance and it finally settled down and started performing flawlessly. After five months it stopped working completely and because it was still under warranty Bose replaced it in five days. The second unit has performed flawlessly from day one and it's been a year and a half. Every once in a blue moon there might be a minor glitch and I unplug it for a few seconds and the problem is solved. Excellent and informative video, well done.
Wow, sounds like a rollercoaster with that 900! Glad the replacement's been solid for you. Unplugging does wonders sometimes. Thanks for the kind words on the video!
I noticed adaptiq lowered the bass 700 output it works well with more deep bass without the adaptiq settings on
My 900 is behaving wierd. After like 10 secs there is 90% dip in bass followed by orange light flashing 4 times. Tried resest etc but it again repeats the problem, any clue?

was ready to throw the sound bar in the trash I was so frustrated. I found your posting on a hard reset and I tried that and I finally got it to work.
thank you for posting this on how to do a reset and connect your Bose app to the sound bar.
That's awesome to hear! So glad the hard reset trick worked out for you. It can be super frustrating when tech doesn't wanna cooperate, but happy to help you get your soundbar and app talking to each other again. Thanks for dropping by and sharing your success
Thank you this helped me so much I was going crazy but all I need to do was reset it you made my weekend fabulous appreciate it
You're welcome!
This video helped me 100% with the reset and kept me from returning my soundbar! Thank you.
Amazing thanks. I was stuck and this help.
I literally come here every 3 months!
Haha, glad you find the video helpful! Maybe it's time to bookmark it for quicker access. Thanks for watching!
I have attempted both hard, sort resets, to no avail. I can only assume my 700 is kaput. It’s dropping audio every few seconds for just a second or 2? It’s a little better with dolby turned off. But the pcm audio quality is significantly less appealing. Been a nice soundbar for a couple years….
Thank you. This was really helpful and straightforward.
Very helpful! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
This video helped me reset my sound bar successfully! Thank you for sharing this video with us! ❤

I Can’t locate the 500 power button
Useful video. I just turn the soundbar 600 into recovery mode and I have a white lights that go from left to right. Unfortunately it continue with this for several hours. Even I unplugged and and plug in again I still have this behaviour. Do you know how to hard reset in this case? Many thanks.
If it's stuck like that even after a reboot, a hard reset might just do the trick. Usually, holding down a specific button combo for a few secs can work, but it varies by model. Since the 600 series is a bit tricky, I'd suggest checking the manual or Bose's support site for the exact steps. Hope that fixes it up for you!
Reset worked for my Bose soundbar 500.
I was lost for days prior to this, thank you
Oh, that's awesome to hear the reset did the trick for your Bose soundbar 500!
Hey ! My Bose soundbar has muffled audio , does it mean it has moisture can I use electric contact cleaner on it ..?
Also it Doesn’t turn on with the power button anymore but when I press the Bluetooth on the remote it powers on as well as turns on Bluetooth .
Hey there! Sounds like moisture might be an issue. I'd be careful with electric contact cleaner; it might damage the internals. 🤔 For the power button, maybe try a reset as shown in the video? If problems persist, might be best to contact Bose support.
It worked..thank u so much..
Hello, my soundbar 700 is not turning on. the red light on the mute mic is on and no other light from the lightbar. Please can you advice what I should do.
Mine won't work either. On the way to best buy now. It worked for 10 minutes and that was it. Can't get it to turn back on.

This fixed my problem with the 300 soundbar. White sliding light left to right then solid red. Did the reset then power, microphone, power, microphone. Then got the green light and it downloaded and installed the software update. Now back to normal.
You saved the day.
Hi, I have tried the hard rest on my soundbar 700. I had deleted my account on Bose app and no product shows on the list. However even after deleting the account/product, I switched on the power and press and held power button and forward play button for 5 seconds, but nothing seems to happen.
The steps you described for performing a hard reset are correct. When the soundbar is powered on, you should press and hold the power button and forward play button for 5 seconds. The soundbar should then enter a reset mode and the LED lights will blink.
If the soundbar is not responding, there could be a few different causes. Here are a few things to check:
Make sure that the soundbar is powered on and that the LED lights are on.
Check the batteries of the remote control, if you're using one.
Try unplugging the soundbar from the power source for a few minutes and then plug it back in and try the reset again.
Try to use another remote control if you have one
Try to use another power source if you have one
Try to reset the soundbar by using the Bose Music app, if you have it installed on your phone.
Contact Bose support for further assistance if none of the above steps works
Bose 300. My remote does not have same buttons. I have bass instead of Bose music and dialog instead of play/pause

How do I hard reset a 700 without the remote being conneced as I was unable to pair it yet. Thank you in advance
Hey there! I think for the 700, you gotta unplug it for a minute and then plug back in. Hold the power button for a few secs when you turn it on. Should reset it.
Good day, Chief! I did that to my Soundbar 300 a hard reset but it did not work. The white light still running from left to right.

I have a sound bar Bose 900 it’s up dating every day it’s causing problems with connection with the Bluetooth speaker on the sound bar so I just removed the Spotify app on it hopefully that will fix this problem
You've taken a good first step by removing the Spotify app to troubleshoot the issue. If you're still having problems, try resetting your Bose 900 soundbar as per the instructions in the video. This should refresh the system and hopefully solve your connection issues. If you still face the issue, consider contacting Bose support for specific advice for your model. Keep us updated!
hey, just bought the soundbar 900 but it wont play any dolby atmos audio… its in eArc hdmi port everything is hopefully setupped good in tv settings but it wont play dolby atmos only normal audio, any tips please?
Hey! Congrats on the new soundbar 900, nice choice! 🎉 But bummer about the Dolby Atmos issue. 🤔 Make sure your TV's audio output is set to Dolby Atmos. Sometimes it's not just plug and play, ya know? Also, check if the content you're playing actually supports Atmos. Not everything does. If it's still a no-go, maybe a quick reset of the soundbar could help.
I finally had to use my portable X Pro Inseego Mi-Fi to connect to the Bose 700. I tried the suggestions and it just wouldn’t work. It connected to my portable Wi-Fi and everything just started working like a charm. I just took a gamble to see if it would work. And it did.
Wow, that's great improvisation! It's interesting how tech sometimes works better in ways we don't expect. I'm glad your Bose 700 is connected and working now. Just shows, sometimes it's worth taking a gamble! Thanks for sharing your experience - it could definitely help others facing similar issues. Enjoy your sound!
Great thanks for help since 2 days i am facing the issue, now solved
Is there any way to start a bose 500 soundbar without the remote, i just can't.
Hey! It can be a hassle when you can't find the remote. For the Bose 500 soundbar, you might be able to start it using the buttons on the soundbar itself, if it has any. Otherwise, the Bose Music app on your phone could be a lifesaver. It lets you control the soundbar pretty much like the remote.
Why won’t my light indicators turn on on my sound bar?
Any way to reset Bose smart sound bar 300 with out remote?
Press and hold the Power button on the soundbar for at least 10 seconds. The soundbar will flash and eventually turn back on, indicating that it has been reset to factory settings.
@@hifiaudios8101 Interestingly, there is no power button on this soundbar model. Only mute and action buttons. Later is for Alexa or google home.

Sounds like your Bose Lifestyle 135 has been great till now. For the volume issue, a reset might help, but with older models, it's kinda hit or miss. The software can be tricky, I get it. Maybe check for any software updates or reach out to Bose support.
@@hifiaudios8101 thanks for the response. I changed the audio cable which made no difference, but then suddenly a couple of days ago it came back to life by itself! I literally have no idea why.

My Bose smart soundbar 900 is stuck updating (white light L to R), I connected it to the router via Ethernet cable, it’s been hours… will it take longer for for the update to complete or am I missing something?
Hey there! It usually shouldn't take hours for the update to complete. Try restarting your soundbar and router. If it still doesn't work, disconnect and reconnect the Ethernet cable. Remember to check if your router has a stable internet connection. If the issue persists, you might need to contact Bose Support for assistance. Hope this helps!

Anybody know how to restart your sound bar 700 I lost the control and used to control it with my phone but switched to a different Internet provider and can’t seem to turn on the Bluetooth
To restart your Bose Soundbar 700 without the remote, follow these steps:
Unplug the soundbar from the power outlet.
Wait for 30 seconds.
Plug it back in and power it on.
To enable Bluetooth, press and hold the Bluetooth button on the soundbar for 5 seconds until the light starts blinking.
Now, you can pair your phone with the soundbar again.
I dont have a functioming remote, can I do a hard reset without a remote?
Oh, that’s a bit tricky without the remote. 😕 Most of the time, Bose soundbars kinda need the remote for a full reset. You might wanna try getting a replacement remote or maybe use a universal remote if you have one. That should help you get things sorted.
@hifiaudios8101 i got a universal remote and the remote doesnt accept the multiple inputs necessary for the hard reset (tv + skip button) so i am at a standstill currently. I find this one post on reddit of someone who was able to hold the circle button at a specific time after plugging in the soundbar and Im trying to get that to work.
This is honesrly the most frustrating product design I have ever seen.
Thanks very much very helpful😊

How to reset 900 without remote, I don’t see the volume buttons so please let me know thankyou
On the back of the soundbar, press and hold down the “Input” button for 5 seconds.
The soundbar will turn off and then on again. You will hear a tone indicating that the reset is complete.
Alternatively, you can also power off the soundbar by pressing the “Power” button on the control panel.
Then, unplug the power cord and all other cords from the back of the soundbar and wait for 5 minutes.
Plug everything back in and turn on the soundbar. The soundbar will be reset to its factory default settings.
I hope this helps you with your issue.

But what if you don’t have a remote. Where can you find a replacement remote for a 900
if you lost your remote for the Bose 900, no worries! You can get a new one from the Bose website or check out Amazon. They usually have loads of replacements. Also, some universal remotes work too, just make sure it's compatable with Bose.
How to do this without remote...remote is not pairing no matter what i do
If you're unable to reset your Bose Soundbar using the remote control and the remote is not pairing no matter what you do, you can try resetting the soundbar using the physical buttons on the device. Here are the steps:
Make sure that the soundbar is powered on.
Locate the "Volume +" and "Volume -" buttons on the soundbar.
Press and hold both the "Volume +" and "Volume -" buttons at the same time for 10 seconds.
Release the buttons and wait for the soundbar to restart.
The soundbar should now be in a factory reset state and will be ready for initial setup again.

can i reset without the remote?
Absolutely, you can reset your Bose soundbar without a remote. Simply unplug the power cord from the soundbar, wait about a minute, then plug it back in. The system should automatically reset. However, for specific features and settings, you might need the remote or the Bose Music app.
what if it still solid when after doing a soft or hard rest 😢
If the light remains solid after trying both soft and hard resets, it might be time to reach out to Bose customer support. They should be able to guide you through some more specific troubleshooting or help with a repair if needed.

Hey there! Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Bose 500 soundbar. It sounds like a bit of a tricky situation without the remote and Wi-Fi connection. Have you tried a factory reset? Sometimes that can help with these kinds of issues. Since you've already tried the apps and holding down the button, a reset might be the next step. Oh no! 😕 Have you try resetting it? Also, check if batteries in remote are good. If still problem, maybe contact Bose customer service? They should help you out.
I've tried changing the batteries and still having issues. The bose tv speaker has no buttons on the speaker itself. So I need the control. If you had to say shat is the problem, would you say it's the control? If so, is there a universal control for it.
My soundbar doesn’t connect to my Bose Music app anymore (probably too old). If I would do a hard reset, I would never be able to reprogram it , right?
It’s still working fine, but I don’t know how to preset radiostations with my (new) remote, since I can’t connect with the Bose app
A hard reset typically brings the device back to its original factory settings, which should make it possible to pair it with the Bose Music app again. However, you're correct that if the soundbar is too old, it might not support the current version of the app. As for programming radio stations without the app, it can vary by model. I'd recommend checking the manual or Bose's official website for instructions. If all else fails, Bose's customer service can surely help out.

What if I dont have a remote broken
if ur remote's broken, u can still reset the soundbar. Just unplug it from power for 30 sec, then plug back in. This should do a basic reset.
No need to rerun AdoptiQ when we disconnect power cable and hdmi in Bose soundbar 900? Soft reset does not require AdoptiQ? Power loss does not require AdoptiQ?
From my research only Factory reset requires AdoptiQ rerun, and once you do AdoptiQ it saves in somewhere in config. I Would like to verify that.
You're right! Generally, a soft reset or a temporary power loss doesn't require re-running the AdaptIQ setup. The settings are usually stored in the soundbar's memory. But, yes, a factory reset typically wipes all settings including AdaptIQ, so you'd need to rerun it in that case. Remember, always double-check with your user manual or Bose support for specifics to your model.
@@hifiaudios8101 i run that with Bose costumer service which they are good in my opinion. Same answer. However I moved that soundbar from wall .4 inch and sub 3 inches from wall and rerun that AdoptiQ. (For my peace of mind.. since its takes a less then 5min)
My bose 600 has a ton of issues vs the Sonos arc that has almost none ever.

@@hifiaudios8101 I got it fixed for now it seems. I think it was a HDMI handshake issue. I went into the CEC menu and tried the setting that best fit the issue. With that being said. Bose does seem to have more issues than Sonos when doing a quick google search.
What if there is no light?

If your curious about buying one of these systems, don't do it. Over priced trash that constantly disconnects and glitches.

How to reset Bose 700 sound bar
Sure thing! For the Bose Soundbar 700, you can typically reset it by pressing and holding the 'Power' button on the remote for 10 seconds until the LED indicator blinks white. If that doesn't work, it might be best to consult the manual or Bose's support site for specific instructions for your model. Hope that helps!
What about the fact Google Assistant no longer shows up as a Set-Up option. It’s completely gone.
If Google Assistant isn't showing up, it might be a software glitch or something. Have you tried updating the soundbar's firmware? Sometimes these updates can fix such issues. If that doesn't work, maybe reaching out to Bose support could help. They're usually pretty good with this stuff.
@@hifiaudios8101 okay. yep don’t recovery and factory reset ect and even tried different accounts
But how do you do a reset if your remote has already quit working? I am starting to despise Bose...
you can usually reset it directly on the unit itself. Try holding down the power button for 10 seconds or so. If that doesn't work, you might need to get a replacement remote or use the Bose app on your phone to control it. Hopefully, that gets your soundbar back
I haven’t used mine in over a year or more. It won’t even turn on. I can’t get no white lights. Just bought a new tv and now the sound bar won’t work.
Hey there! Sounds like your soundbar's having some trouble after not being used for a while. First, make sure it's properly plugged in. If it still won't turn on, try a different power outlet. Sometimes, these devices need a 'wake-up' call after not being used for long. If that doesn't help, a reset might be needed. Check the video again for the reset steps. Hope this fixes it and you get to enjoy your new TV with great sound!
Thanks for the reply. Yeah still no power. I ordered a new power cord just now. Try that in a couple of days.
My remote stopped working years ago for the 700…. Not in stock either. I guess $3000 e waste now right ? This engineering is astounding
It's such a bummer when expensive tech becomes useless. Maybe you can find a universal remote as a workaround? Just a thought. Keep your chin up!
None of this works on the Bose 600. I had to cycle the circuit breaker to get it working again. Unplugging cables is not practical when mounted to a wall.
Where's the turning bottom? I can't find it 😫
The power button (or "turning bottom" as you might've seen it), can sometimes blend in with the rest of the soundbar. It should be on the top or side, depending on your model. Look for a button that’s a bit different from the others, sometimes marked with a power icon.
It doesn’t work for my bose 700. I try many things since many month, but nothing works. I'm gonna be crazy (i think i am already) 😢

My Bose keeps on "forgetting" the Wifi network although i don't change anything. Every few weeks. It sucks.
That sounds super frustrating! 😖 Next time your Bose soundbar loses the Wi-Fi connection, try rebooting your router or updating the soundbar's firmware. *Be aware if you have a cat!!*
I love my Bose systems, never had issues for 20 years with them, until a few months ago. My Bose 900 would randomly not work.
What was happening, my new kitten, at night would sit on the buttons and somehow mess up the soundbar. Going to put something over it.
That's quite a story with your kitten and the Bose 900. Cats do have a knack for finding the most interesting spots to sit on, don't they? 😸 Covering the buttons sounds like a smart move to prevent any more accidental 'kitten resets.' It's great to hear you've had such a good experience with Bose over the years, aside from this little feline hiccup. Thanks for sharing your tip with fellow Bose owners!

Sorry to hear you're having a tough time with your Bose soundbar. Sometimes, electronics can be a bit of a headache. Did you try reaching out to Bose customer support? They might be able to help sort out the issues.
What about 600 ?!!
Oh, for the Bose 600, the reset steps should be similar to the 500 or 700 models. Just unplug it for a minute, then plug it back in. That usually does the trick. If not, check the manual or Bose's website for specific instructions.
I wish I had seen these comments before buying one and not reading all the positive ones. 😢😢😢
Oh no, sorry to hear that! 😟 Sometimes it's hit or miss with these things. Hope the reset tips help out though.
@@hifiaudios8101 thanks and yes the hard reset solved the high volume at turn on issue thankfully.
i stuck at updating i changed my wifi password now im stuck.
If you changed your WiFi password, your soundbar probably can't connect to the internet to finish updating. Try resetting your soundbar to factory settings, then reconnect it to your WiFi with the new password. Usually, there's a button you can hold down to reset it, but check your manual to be sure
*I'll NEVER buy another Bose product again. The bugginess of such a premium-priced product makes Kohler's Numi toilet seem like a steal.*
High prices should mean no hassles, right? Hopefully, your next tech purchase works out way better!
@@hifiaudios8101 Thank you. _(Sonos,_ here I come ...!)
This is the worst setup experience I've ever had. Maybe this is why the $900 Bose 900 Series was on sale for $599. Absolutely horrible experience. I've been hard at it for 2 hours straight with zero progress.
Maybe take a little break and then give it another go? Sometimes that helps me. Also, maybe there’s a step or something weird that’s not clicking? Bose usually has pretty decent customer support, so if it keeps being a pain, maybe give them a call
I got on the phone with them yesterday. After 30 minutes, we got it working. I was so happy. Then, it kept turning off my TV and 4K player about every 10 minutes. I took the batteries out of the remote, and it kept doing it. Finally, I unplugged it, and it stopped. So, I tried for some time to fix the issue, but I couldn’t. I’m on my way back to Best Buy now to return it. How on earth can a speaker be this difficult? It’s just a speaker. 😂
this isn’t working wtf
I hate my Bose 900 soundbar. I don’t care how many times you unplug, plug back in. It drops the connection with the Sony A90J at least two times a week. I will not purchase Bose products in the future. The fact they built into the app this change CEC setting shows they know they have a lousy product. Their incompetence has cost them a long time customer. Stay away from Bose products. They just aren’t worth the hassle or money.
Connection issues like that can be super annoying. While I can't change your past experience, I'd recommend reaching out to Bose customer support if you haven't already. They might be able to offer a solution or even a replacement. Thanks for sharing your experience; it's valuable feedback for others considering Bose products.
Soft reset worked! Thanks, bro!
This did not help at all still frustrated
No lo vale no lo compren
My wack ass bose sound bar 700 not turning onnnnnnn my gosh what a fucking headache
Oh man, that sounds frustrating! 😩 Try the reset steps in the video. If it still ain't working, might be worth reaching out to Bose support.
Throw garbage, like me, buy Arc
@@jackzhang4462 lol I mIght have to do it..... its c4azy how expensive this brand is and always haves issues
Worst $1000 I've ever spent.
Ham sound, never clear, all tone with Bose smell, not real sound.
Oh, I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Bose soundbar. It sounds like there might be an issue with the settings. Have you tried resetting it as shown in the video? Sometimes, that can really help clear up any sound issues. Also, checking the audio source and cable connections could make a difference. Hope this helps, and you get to enjoy better sound quality soon!
Worst soundbar I've ever used. Constant disconnecting.
Oh no, sorry to hear about the trouble with your Bose soundbar. Disconnecting issues are really annoying. Did you try resetting it like in the video? Sometimes that fixes these kinda problems. If it keeps happening, maybe reach out to Bose support or check if there's a software update for it. Hope it gets sorted out for you!
@@hifiaudios8101 tried contacting Bose ... useless. No resposes on their chat.
i want wired products wifi stupid af
"Haha, I feel you! Sometimes the good ol' wired connection feels more reliable. 🤷♂️ No fuss with connectivity issues. But hey, at least the Bose soundbars offer some versatility for those who like the wireless option. 🎵🔌"
Fack Fack
To much talk. Please go straight to the point
Got it, thanks for the feedback! I'll try to be more stright to the point in future videos. Appreciate you watching though!
This did not work. Not helpful.
Sorry to hear it didn't work for you. Sometimes, these steps can be a bit tricky. Maybe try again, and make sure all the steps are followed exactly as shown. If it still doesn't work, it might be a good idea to contact Bose support for help.
