I recently found gold in NJ! There's a place where glaciers dropped two long, parallel hills of material atop hard clay. Little springs pop out in places and form small streams, which erode gullies into the clay, where traps form. Sure enough, the first little gravel trap I cleaned out had 6 flecks of gold and one larger of platinum!

What's the process of getting it as your claim, costs and such. How long is it yours? How do you search for claims? How many claims do you have? Is there a limit for claims a person can have so one guy doesn't claim all the land for himself? How does the next guy get the claim from you? I'd love to understand how all this claim stuff works. My mini shovels are all on their 2nd handles. When I break the big shovel handles, I cut them down for the little shovels. I buy old tools at yard sales and thrift stores just for the hickory handles. The fiberglass ones break really fast if you pry with them.
Met Dan at a rock and gem show at Chilliwack heritage park today nice person very approachable. I figured he would’ve there due to his prospecting not far from the area.

Had a thought, sandblast the rest of the paint off that bar
I use a 7 ft pry bar, to dig out bamboo, got it at princess auto after 4 years it's still going strong. Longer the bar better leverage.
