Yeah, kinda like it’s interesting seeing a river sluice installed on the rock? Hmm kinda like you don’t see this everyday? Hmm I wonder if it would be Neat to keep in place to show future generations because well it’s not hurting anything, but you’ll be removing history by removing it for what your queen? Lame 😕
Dan, I don’t have much interest in gold prospecting, but I watch because of your personality, knowledge, explanations, and care for the rules and environment makes it entertaining. The roar of the river near you is just a bonus. You definitely earned a subscription here.
Agreed. I'm more of a rockhound, but Dan has such a likeable personality. Pure positivity. Same can be said about Pioneer Pauly. He never fails to crack me up.
The river floods every year washing LITERAL TONS OF SILT down it and the fish do JUST FINE. These laws are made by ignorant propogandists on a power trip. Small scale mining like Dan is doing has 0 effect on the environment, if anything he collects LEAD FROM the river and helps with removing mercury that is trapped on the bottom of the river and can ONLY be taken out by mining ! Sorry for the rant, it's just when the general public takes these laws at face value and innocently believes that the government is doing ANYTHING to protect the environment by controlling mining it ticks me off and i want to inform.
The river noise is actually super relaxing. I remember sleeping next to the confluence of the Kern River and Little Kern River in California, as a teen. I slept so very well. I love that sound.
My condolences . That fire was devastating. We covered the progress of it from Rutland while helping people evac . Hats off to you and your perseverance.
Dan, I really enjoy your vids. JUST A HINT; obtain a 1 qt gas can from HOME Depot's fuel for small engines. The fuel is crap so burn it in your vehicle, and refill with the best gas you can obtain. It works for my tiny outboard motor and has saved me paddling more than once.
I've been a casual viewer for quite some time. Good to see you looking so healthy and vibrant! Wish I had the mobility of my younger years back as I would love to fish that beautiful river.
Dan PLZZZZ don’t change a thing sir you’re personality is very animated. Do not loose that Dan you hold the attention of your watchers ect…. The way you talk & act is more exciting than you gold get get. Rev. Paul, Eustis Florida.
I don't know what I like better watching you look for treasure or seeing the scenery. ..here in West central indiana we been receiving the smoke from the fires in BC..your in our prayers. ..
Oh, I'm so sad, I was just admiring your beautiful, foggy morning! Our fires in Oregon were not so bad this year, the sun only turned red a couple times. Fun to be back in this spot, I was fascinated by your earlier videos about the sluice. Good luck, and I ALWAYS enjoy!
I like that removing the illegal ground sluice gets you a tip in the form of collected gold. I wish there was more remediation that came with a built in reward.
never found anything in boreholes. until one day i find one loaded with an ounce. didn't make any sense it was high above water line. gold is where you find it!
Love seeing those nuggets in the pan! Dan you actually got me into gold recovery! I don’t live in an area where I can pan so I decided to recover gold from electronics! Seeing the flakes in the jar is always amazing!
Hello from st John's Newfoundland! I am a big fan of your videos and have heard NL has a decent amount of gold. I'd love to give it a try for a weekend on the rock! Much love keep up the great work Dan!!
Mr. Hurd. same province. ive found myself with nothing to do. spent a lifetime in the woods but never threw a pan at anything until recently. great stuff. thanks. very personable as well.
Nice little setup you have. I sure enjoy your way of working on the rocks. (Like Neil Diamond song. Love on the rocks). Thanks Dan. You are the man. Regards 🇿🇦.
I would love to come explore the beautiful nature and learn to pan gold with you. You could keep every bit of the gold. Just to have the experience would be enough for me.
Well that was good stuff. Thank you very much I always enjoy and look forward to your videos. Unfortunately I don't get to watch it when it first gets out in the morning on Sundays. I'm in church. However I need to be in church anyways. I love being with the brethren😊
I had an entire mountain of pine trees I planted in 1970 catch fire and burn a couple years back. Down in the valley going to Hamilton, Montana. They grew for a long time first.
Lots of luck to you Dan, sorry to see the devastation of the fires. We are heading into summer here in OZ, Victoria is known for the bushfires as well. I'm glad you found some shiney, thats a good take compared to what I find locally, I have a 2 hour + drive to get to decent ground. So I bought 1 of your Xmas paydirt bags, even with the exchange rate, its still cheaper than fuel and travel! 😊 ❤it you got me out of my depression and out in the scrub chasing gold. Thank you regards from down under😊
I’m in Pennsylvania and we got smoke from Canada a few months ago! I’m 34 and I’m decent shape and my motorcycle battery died so had to push it uphill to pop start it! The smoke made me feel like I was in my 90s and wiped me out!
Wow that means Ive been watching your channel for over two years, keep it coming I’m learning a lot of information I may use in 20 years when I’m retired 😂
I don't quite understand how you could 'pollute' the water if you just throw it through a sluice, combine with soil and eventual gold will stick, but whatever at the backend comes out seems not to be a bad substance for the river to soak back up. Just water and dirt.
Whenever I watch your vids, my eyes are always immediately magnetized to anything with a slightly yellow tint.... and it usually lasts for a few hours after I watch lol.
Your nuts the best kind there is. Your a great teacher. Your entire demeanor is top of the line. I don't know if you ever taught in a class room but it would have been a pleasure to have been in your class. Great energy. Rock on...❤
@17:50 : Thank you for saying that it was people and their damaging actions causing the rules being put in place. People and their want to push the envelope to the determent of society are the reason for basically all regulation. Well done stating that fact.
That sheet metal at the end could've been a remnant of the sluice work there... A sheet metal chute to run water or material down? Not sure of it's proximity to the sluice, just a thought. Seems pretty remote for tin foil.
Hi Dan, I have the same high banker. I use those black tote bins with the gridded blue or yellow lids as a table for the high banker to sit on. The gridded lid works as a level when there is water in it so you know you are on the correct angle and raising it up is also great as it creates the perfect height for a 5 gallon pail to catch and move the tailings away for longer run times. Cheers from Calgary, Alberta! 🤘
I am never mistaken when I hit the like button BEFORE you even welcome us to your video! Yet another wonderful experience, despite the smoke! One day I would LOVE to come up there and assist you with some of my muscles to move some of those big rocks!
Was in Kelowna during the fire then had to go the long way around to Summerland after the slide closed 97. The smoke was bad in Kelowna when we were ther but not nearly as bad as it was in Prince George a few weeks earlier while we were up there.
Love your stuff, Dan. Suggestion from a high school media teacher - it looks like you've set a camera to auto white balance or somesuch.... the color grading on this one was all over the place. Lock down the white balance for consistency. Might've just been this video - I don't recall this being a distraction in past videos.
19:50 Excited, are we? Sounding like Beavis or one of The Muppets YipYips. 🤣 It’s great that you explain how you follow the rules. Even for people like myself under a completely different set of rules, it helps guide us as to how we should find the local laws, but also how we can act to mine in a way that protects the environment above the local law.
First time viewer and happy to subscribe... Good to see how a little gold can be found without huge machines and the Gold Rush greed kicking in.. I feel you do it because you enjoy finding the gold no matter if it is just a few flakes or a good few ounces.
May have been gold in that rubble pile but you tossed it all 😝 The color wash seems to be sunlight overpowering the sensors for a brief moment, maybe clearings in the smoke. Or just infrareds
Great video! So many things I could comment on. Lots of topics. I just wanted to say I am entertained and educated and still, after many years, coming back to watch. I can't recall when you earned MY sub, but it was immediate. lol I do recall your original "illegal sluice" videos and a few others around them.
Dan Hurd like your videos you are inspiration for people that want some inspiration in their lives. Im doing a speed panning for a month, th goal is 350 pans a day, sleepeng in a tent like nomad, dont worry im prepered, do you know Trakia? there is good stuff everywhere, btw im watching u and ur friends for a while and i want to thank you for the tips. keep going

I love your videos! That high-banker is really effective, I imagine one with a but more hopper volume would help, what with that larger material. Good stuff!!!
😅.Dan i ❤ the way you do things my hats off to you. I live in LA .lower Alabama 8 miles north of mobile you all get down here ide ❤ love to show up some show nuf Southern Hospitality God Bless you and yours

id love to give this a go. looks like so much fun not to mention exciting!! 23:41 "no, i did not put the grates back in" yeah, thats what i'd would have said too 😉
All the work that u have done to get rid of the sloose and help the river of course they would let u keep the gold u done a lot of hard labour to get that out I remember watching the channel when u did that, and it's your class any way isn't it 😉 lol...and u done a fantastic job cleaning it all up to ..
Mu heart felt condolences sir on the loss of that bunk house. It sucks when something so special is destroyed. The memories when you built it the blood sweat and tears. Be strong dan you'll rebuild. And I'd love to come up and see it. God bless prospector.
Hello Dan! I have been watching your content on and off for a few years now. I hope the wildfires clear up soon. I can't believe it has been two years since you found that ground sluice. The older we get the quicker time flies by.
Man, was just thinking this lol. And I'm only 31 😅

I thought it was last year 😯
I dont appreciate your timeline or comments on time. Truth is irrelevant in regard to my lack of appreciation.
You’re not kidding, no way it’s been 2 years! It feels like maybe a few months ago…time flies!! (As we get older just as you said!)
Dan, The sound of the river helps put us right there with you. Never apologize for that. Thank you
I will never complain about the sound of the river, it's great 👍
yeah people buy apps and devices to make nice white noise like that. It's comfy.
Dan, I don’t have much interest in gold prospecting, but I watch because of your personality, knowledge, explanations, and care for the rules and environment makes it entertaining.

Dan, if there’s one person who I wished they came across a big, big gold nugget, it’s you. I wish you had such luck and soon.
May I ask which machine do I need to use in order to extract gold stone from the land
i am amazed how much effort you put in for virtually no apparent return. you obviously enjoy it .

You can find gold anywhere there's a river!
Greetings from the BIG SKY of Montana. I'm glad you do everything by the rules. I try to do so here in Montana because I can like you.
Great to see you Back in Action after your surgery
Firering on all 8 cylinders with a Supercharger behind you
Background river sound is really nice. I definitely prefer it instead of background music.
Dan, one of these days you need to cast a line in some of those gorgeous fishing holes to satisfy your fisherman follows :)!
My God! What an office to "work" in Dan! Beautiful. Love your videos
Wow I can't believe it's been 2 years! I found the illegal sluice video way back then and just happened to stumble across your channel today!
Always funny when he just turns around and give a huge smile
The ground sluice video was the first video I watched, and I have been hooked eversince.
If you're gonna try to make them holes bigger. I recommend using a step drill, not a drill bit.
So sorry about the bunkhouse. I hope the weather holds so you can go back. Thanks for your efforts. It looks like fun….and a lotta work!
WOW, Dan, the smoke is bad on that vlog date. We had several days of bad smoke in Nebraska. You mentioned camera color affects, you were orange.
Hello from st John's Newfoundland! I am a big fan of your videos and have heard NL has a decent amount of gold. I'd love to give it a try for a weekend on the rock! Much love keep up the great work Dan!!

I fall asleep to Dan hurds videos sometimes
So peaceful
recreate memories with the kids rebuilding that bunkhouse!
Had no idea about the leaf pattern on gold. Very interesting, thank you!
Panning and finding something like this is always going to be on my bucket list and everytime I watch your content I learn new things.
You could use the plywood and make you a homemade ruck to carry your stuff on your back . I was infantry for 20 years that’s all I know
Love the sound of the river. Your voice is fine with it.
Well that was good stuff. Thank you very much I always enjoy and look forward to your videos. Unfortunately I don't get to watch it when it first gets out in the morning on Sundays. I'm in church. However I need to be in church anyways. I love being with the brethren😊

It's great to see you back at the old sluce. You found more than I expected, nice 👍
Any time you find gold is a good day remember it all adds up thanks for sharing this six stars

Dan Hurd i alway enroy the scenery you show in your videos and the whoo you do when you gold too
Great Job Dan! What a great way to spend the day! Watching a Dan Hurd video!
As I have found, your video, even without that 7oz windfall, is entertaining and informative.
Beautiful spot there Dan😀👍
I love those little spade shovels. I have one and find i use it often
Dan , so sorry about the camp , hope you are protected from further damage😢
That river water is beautiful!
You should mount 2 RV levels to the mini hi-banker or carry a torpedo level & protractor.
Dan, next time you come down to bellingham come visit racehorse creek for fossil hunting!
That video is what got me started on you Dan and I am glad for it
@17:50 : Thank you for saying that it was people and their damaging actions causing the rules being put in place. People and their want to push the envelope to the determent of society are the reason for basically all regulation. Well done stating that fact.
25:00 Just plunk a flat rock over the pocket before moving the overburden and save yourself a whole lot of trouble on the back end!
This sluice was the first episode I watched and followed from
That sheet metal at the end could've been a remnant of the sluice work there... A sheet metal chute to run water or material down? Not sure of it's proximity to the sluice, just a thought. Seems pretty remote for tin foil.

I just can’t wait! 7:15 am west coast time on a Sunday. Yeah still sleeping or getting ready for church. But not
I can understand why you would want to protect the environment. That's absolutely beautiful country you're in.
Before weather gets crappy you should knock down that overburden and let the flooding river clear it out over the winter
I am never mistaken when I hit the like button BEFORE you even welcome us to your video! Yet another wonderful experience, despite the smoke! One day I would LOVE to come up there and assist you with some of my muscles to move some of those big rocks!

The smoke from those fires has reached all the way down to Orlando FL, where i live. crazy!
Great video!

Dan you're a national and global treasure! Much like the gold you find 😊
Answerd my question on a sluce, neat little portable machine, type/brand? Fruits of your labour!!
You are very entertaining and your method of dealing with trolls is pretty good.
အထူးပင်..ကျေးဇူးတင်ပါသည်ဗျာ..❤❤❤❤❤❤❤..။။
Another great video.
Your production is second only to your content. 👍
we've had smoke travel from those fires all the way down in North Carolina! Yall hang in there
I can't help but notice the rusty appearance of the rock surrounding that divot. Gold and that rusty colour go together.
I love your videos!
That high-banker is really effective, I imagine one with a but more hopper volume would help, what with that larger material. Good stuff!!!

Thanks for the great video and follow up on the illegal ground sluice.
Bet it's a treat to be able to sit and feed your high banker all the material it can handle!!
My wife just flew from Prince George to Kalowna, but flew to Calgary first lol
id love to give this a go. looks like so much fun not to mention exciting!!
23:41 "no, i did not put the grates back in" yeah, thats what i'd would have said too 😉
That is awesome that is about that small high banker
All the work that u have done to get rid of the sloose and help the river of course they would let u keep the gold u done a lot of hard labour to get that out I remember watching the channel when u did that, and it's your class any way isn't it 😉 lol...and u done a fantastic job cleaning it all up to ..
Yay another great Dan Hurd video, YAY
The flake at 16:35 looks just like the logo for the St. Louis Blues!
It wasn't there at the final reveal. Do you think it broke, or got lost in a subsequent panning?
Yeah, it was very smoky down here in lower Michigan this summer 33:01
Mu heart felt condolences sir on the loss of that bunk house. It sucks when something so special is destroyed. The memories when you built it the blood sweat and tears.
Be strong dan you'll rebuild. And I'd love to come up and see it. God bless prospector.
Hello Dan! I have been watching your content on and off for a few years now.
I hope the wildfires clear up soon. I live in Ontario, and there were wildfires in the neighbouring province of Quebec (as you may have heard). The air quality was so poor that at times I would have trouble breathing. I can't imagine how bad it must be.
Good luck!
Stumbled into your channel this evening ll
Ooks lime something i can learn from.
