(Some of the content in this video may be inspired by other amazing quilters' work. And while I would love to be able to identify the author of the original pattern, sometimes that's impossible to do. I hope you understand.)
Hi guys. Have you ever tried making a Brick Wall Quilt? I haven't done one of these in many many years but is it, without a doubt, the simplest quilt pattern to make. Can you really call it a quilt pattern when there is none? So confused right now...
Hi teacher its me Eduardo i like the video my mother tried it!
@@TableBelike Hi Eduardo. Thank you! I hope she had fun 😊
thanks for the ❤️
@@seweasybysandy Thanks
@@TableBelike 😁
I use selvages to tie the plants in my yard and garden. Very strong, gentle enough for tender plants, and not constructive like garden twine when pulled tight.
That's a great idea, I've tried regular fabric strips but selvages make much more sense, thank you 😊
I do that also.
Really cute and quick. My guild makes placemats to donate to Meals on Wheels and I could make up a LOT with this method! Thanks for sharing!
Oh wow, that's such a perfect idea for these! I wish there was something similar where I live.
You could check local nursing homes or senior centers that offer meals. You might also check hospitals with children that they might give to patients to cheer them up. I’m sure you could find somewhere that would love to have them.
@@CopycatQuilter I tried it with my own family at a nursing home and they said it wasn't sanitary so all I could bring were quilts. But yeah, I need to be more proactive for sure 😃
I think if you start each row with a square and make each row the desired width, you can rotate each row to off set the bricks.
Thanks for your videos! You keep me inspired.
That's a great idea ☺️
I love this because i am fully self taught and some people make quilting so intimidating! this makes it look fun and easy!
I'm self taught too and this channel was made for that exact purpose, to make sewing fun and accessible 😁
Love this! Thank you! Also love the idea of sewing scraps into a long strip ready to do something with them. 👍🏻 You rip away! 😂 Deb x 🤗
I'm so glad 😊 yeah, it really helps emptying that scrap pile
Very cheerful and bright. I like the idea if making a big jelly roll. Great tip!
I've made this quilt and have fabric set out to make 2 more. It is definitely very fast to cut and sew; in fact it was finished in no time. And it's very attractive. I put one square on each row, alternating the side the square was on so the seams would be offset. So easy.
And so much fun too 😁
Thank you for your great idea to use scraps! ❤
Great idea. I love how bright and cheery it is.
Thank you 😊
I absolutely love it !!!! Thanks for this inspiration ❤️❤️
Thank you 😊
That would be great for a jelly roll race quilt! It would be very colorful and scrappy! Beautiful! You sparked my creativity! Thanks!
Happy to hear it 😁
That would be a great pattern for Easter table runner and place mats! Yours reminded me of Easter eggs! So fun!
You're right 😁
I love that idea thank you very much for showing this on TH-cam. I am new to Quilting also.
Welcome! I hope you have a lot of fun
Never have made this.
It's pretty and bright.
It's so much fun too! 😁
❤ watching from Vernon BC Canada 🇨🇦. Excellent teacher. Thanks for sharing 😊
I LOVE this idea! I love scrappy quilts and this is a quick beautiful way to make one. Im going to make some placemats, too! You're so right - this makes me smile and makes me feel happy. What a great way to spark some joy in our homes. Love your channel, just found you. ❤
Hi! Welcome. So glad you like it 😁
😊 Thank you, I do a lot of sewing and have a huge stas😊 of cloth and 100s of patterns. Sometimes I do difficult quotes and to get frustrated. You know, if I mean it's little things but having the simple one like that is awesome. That is a no stress.Use up your stash, just relax, take a quote.I am on my way to make one now. Thank you so very much.
Exactly, that's the whole point of these kinds of projects. No stress, just fun 😊
Bright and super cute.❤
I really like your fabric and how your brain works 😊.
Thank you 🥰
NICE! I might even be able to sew one, which is saying a lot.❤
I'm sure of it, it's even easier when you do it@@paularodery8074
LOVE this! Thank you 😊
love it pretty and easy.
I love this! The colors are perfect for spring.
Wellllll I never🤪. I ❤️this and it’s on my wannado list!!! I was thinking instead of cutting the brick in 1/2, why not slice it @ random intervals. It would affect the length of the strip but it could mix it up😝. Just a thought.
I love your color choices and the end result looks fun👏👏👏
❤️😀
I have tried different lengths and it looks cool too but that whole brick wall, mismatched effect isn't as noticeable. Maybe for a future video 😁
Aha that does make sense ❤️😀
Very beautiful, enjoyed the video ❤❤❤
Thank you ☺️
Lovely
Great idea. Thanks
You can use selvedges, if they are cotton, as twill tape (seam tape) in garment sewing. I have also heard of using it to wrap your middle hoop when doing embroidery so your fabric doesn't move as much.
Great ideas, thank you 😊
Super cute! 🥰
Very sweet!
Love it!!!!!❤
Great video. Have you ever tried Elmers school glue on binding. Small thin line holds very well just dry iron press as you fold in. No clips or pins. I have been doing my large quilt bindings this way
I'll have to check that out, I'm not sure I have that brand here but surely there must be something similar. 😊
Oh girl, I could see making large squares and doing a quilt as you go type quilt.
I like that!
Very happy pretty. I would do the corners a little different.
Quick question, what foot did you use to quilt this project? I love this idea, just what I need for Easter!💗
Hi. You can use a walking foot but I used a regular foot.
Thank you!@@seweasybysandy
@@julyrodriguez7533 what do you mean double stitching?
♥️♥️♥️
Cute but I miss ironing pieces- which I will do.
I tie them together and knot them and let my cats play with them while I’m home. If they were to get it caught in their throat while I’m not home they could die. Fyi
My cats would love that 😁
