This did happen to my sister and I, this guy would call our house. It was always when our parents weren't home. He would tell us what pj's we had on the night before. This happened for a couple of weeks. Then He got even bolder, He came through the window and tried to pull my sister out ,I was hanging onto my sister with everything in me while screaming at the top of my lungs. My dad came flying into our room. The guy seen him coming, let's go of my sister. My dad went outside as fast as he could. The guy was gone. Thank God for the police man who lived a street over. Every day when my parents work, he'd come and take us to his house and his wife would watch us until our parents came home . My sister was 6 and I was 7 years old .This was in the 70s . That was the first time. It happened a second time, to us we were 12,and 13 two
guys in a car. Talk about being scared. God was watching over us . Same cop gave chase and nailed them.

    • @ravynsong5799
      @ravynsong5799 ปีที่แล้ว

The irony is when you were living through it, 1970s America WASN'T scary, because unless you were a victim to something like this, no one even knew things like that were even happening. It's not like now where every incident is posted on Facebook. Everyone lived in their little bubble of false security believing they were safe, completely oblivious to the dangers like "Dr. Ramsey" lurking around them. Actually, had "Dr. Ramsey" not started calling the house and creeping out her parents, Kim might have suddenly disappeared one day and they'd assume she'd been out playing somewhere unsafe and gotten into an accident or something. When they were looking for her, her parents probably wouldn't have even mentioned the "pediatrician" their daughter claimed approached her days ago to the police because they would have believed the interaction was innocent. Nowadays, those of us who lived through it all unscathed hearing stories like this and are horrified, because this could have been any one of us and we had no clue back then it could even be a possibility. How many "Dr. Ramsey's" did I encounter that I was just lucky enough to escape without even knowing I was in danger in the first place??? Now THAT thought is terrifying!!!

I've heard the Dr. Ramsay horror story many times before, but it still chills me to the bone. About three years ago, my parents lost custody of me and my brothers due to my mom's domestic abuse charges and drug use.
About two months after that, threats from my mom began. She was involved with a local gang that branched off of a larger organization. She threatened frequently to have me and my brothers kidnapped, and because of her connections we knew it was possible.
I spent two long years being too paranoid to go outside alone in fear I'd be taken away. Every time I had to go outside when I was at school, I always asked to borrow friend's hoodies and jackets, and cut off all of my hair to look different. I didn't let people take pictures of me or post them until later on. Even now, I always get so paranoid to look outside at night in fear of seeing someone out there waiting for me.
These things leave lasting impacts on people, whither or not they're just threats or legitimate stalking and threats of kidnapping, and it's terrible that someone would be willing to follow and harass a child for their own gratification.

The family in the Dr Ramsay story have the self preservation instincts of potatoes. First, the kid doesn't tell anyone she's being weirded out by a strange man. Then, the parents find out that an unknown man is talking to their nine year old daughter, and he knows her name, and they are sure it's fine because he's a doctor and he smiles. Then, no one fixes unsecured doors and windows. They also screw around with the phone a for a ridiculous amount of time. Then, after all the scariness, the parents leave the children the fuck alone in the house that they know is being watched. No one is even at all concerned anymore for some reason. Then, the older boys fucking leave the girls alone in the house that they know is being watched. Then, after the guy actually breaks in, the kids call no one. They don't even shelter in place. They're wandering around separated, eating cereal. And no one even notifies the school that the daughter is being stalked. I get that the police weren't helping, but holy shit, the level of idiocy shown by this whole family throughout this whole ordeal is mind boggling.

I was out fishing for tadpoles in the creek that ran through my apartment complex in Seattle. I was also 9 years old. As I was skipping home with my bucket of tadpoles I felt a hand grab my shoulder and I turned around to face this crazy looking guy that was grinning at me with wild eyes. The only thing he said was "I'm gonna get you" and I screamed and threw my bucket of tadpoles at him and took off running for my apartment. I barely made it inside before he caught me. All of the parents in the complex banded together to go find him but our apartments were surrounded by forest and they never caught him. I didn't go play outside for years after that and to this day I get major anxiety going anywhere alone. I finally broke down and got my ccp which has definitely helped me a bit. There are a lot of sick people out there.

If Ramsay had been watching the family through their windows for months, he probably saw the father guarding his house on one of his window peeping session or something. After months of being scared for his child, he probably stayed up late for weeks or months with that gun. Ramsey probably put two and two together and realized that he had tormented the family for so long, put them all in a state of perpetual vigilance, that the father was likely to just shoot him on sight. Knowing there's a weapon in the house can be enough to intimidate a stalker, though I'm guessing Ramsey wasn't quite all there. This story makes me wonder if this Ramsey character was getting thrills from terrifying the father. Targeting a daughter of a family with a lot of boys, a family that seems well off and attentive to each other on top of that. There are so many little girls that would be easier to grab if that's really what Ramsey wanted.
Btw, mom and dad had to go for a job and big brothers couldn't skip a night at the skating rink? Thanks, big bros lolol

Sad but unfortunately true. N nobody wants to get close to guy n what the hell AFAMILY. GATHERING. It should be a family strategy. Yes I know it’s messed up but like cape. Stalkers are bloody terrifying.
I had one years ago when I lived by myself in an apartment, and the cops basically told me they couldn't do anything "until something 'actually' happens".
    Great. Thanks.
A close friend told her brother (big, super sweet red-neck kinda guy who was home from college for the summer) to stay with me as a live-in body guard.
He would come with me to the apartment gym (cause I had stopped going to my regular workouts) and he lived with me for a couple of weeks until the stalker got brave enough to try and break in one night.
Unlucky for him, my friends brother had a pistol (his legally) and he shot the stalker in the leg, rolled him over onto his belly when he collapsed and sat on top of him while I called the cops.
The guy is now in prison, as he had multiple warrants for sexual assaults, rape, and murder.
I still have no idea where the guy had seen me, or where, if we did, have an encounter, and why he chose me, but I'm glad we were able to stop him from hurting anyone else.
Stalker stories terrify me, especially when friends, family and authorities don't believe the person when they say they think they're being stalked, then they turn up dead and everyone is like "oh, I guess we should have taken them seriously...".
    Luckily my friends did.
