Except that in #3 - 15 miles is not 80km and 30ft is definitely not 9.1km etc... his conversions are usually accurate so I'm not sure what happened in this story.

When I was 5 a man attempted to kidnap me from the front yard of our home. Even as a 5 year old I knew this man was going to try to harm me and I was able to get away. Now, at age 66 I have a very clear memory of this man, his appearance, car, time of day. If he stood in a line up I could pick him out. Always trust your instincts. Trust your fear.
Im 77 and had a similar experience when i was about 8. The man was probably a college student and spoke to me with an accent i couldent understand. You and i were lucky and smart. I think of him often and wonder what he was saying to me. There was no one outside in any direction and it was winter so windows and doors were closed. I ran to nearest house and pounded on the door. When i looked back he was gone. He had been running toward me. I guess if u survive u have a purpose.
I had a few close calls, growing up in Los Angeles, walking to and from school at a very young age...those things are imprinted on my mind even now from fifty years ago. I can only think that I must have had a very benevolent guardian angel, because I've lived a very charmed life😌
ALWAYS follow your gut instinct! When I was 17 I was at a Fourth of July party & about 2 hours into the party I had this extreme sense of dread. I never left parties early back then. But this horrific feeling kept telling me that I needed to leave. I left the party just before 2 teens were stabbed to death. Never try to argue away that sense of foreboding.
And people try to say those are instincts, I’m no biologist or doctor, but I don’t believe instincts can predict the future especially when everything seems to be going perfectly well, it’s most definitely something more
@@fancifrance4039 I’ve had a sense of dread or where I sensed something would happen. Once when I was taking my mom to the ER due to a fever and she was on chemo we were in a storm and it was late at night. For some reason I told my mother that I could smell a tornado coming and it did come. It was an F4 tornado/waterspout (was over water for a couple of minutes making it a water spout). It was devastating and caused a lot of damage. One other time I had that same sense and a cluster of tornadoes hit. I’ve lived in Florida half of my life and only those 2 times did I sense it and only those two times did they hit. Also had a sense of dread in 2016. Told my family something was going to happen to me by my birthday which is in December. My birthday came and left and my family surprised me with a visit including my sister from California. On December 19, 2016 exactly 7 days later it hit. I was diagnosed with severe sepsis that nearly killed me and I was hospitalized for a month. My health isn’t in good shape so I’m used to frequent hospital stays but this one was within hours of being fatal without help. Spent time in the ICU as well. I tend to listen to my gut and I go to the ER when it’s really nagging and I have symptoms. Has happened several times and I would find out I had severe pneumonia or whatever. It’s definitely a gift and it should be listened to. My alarm bells have been going off the past week or so and I’m having that sense of dread but with COVID I am not in such a rush but I’m afraid it will get me in the end if I don’t listen to it
Me: *hears some creepy noises, then makes even weirder creepy noises to Assert dominance* Monster: “ok dude chill out, I’ll leave your crazy ass alone”
If you don’t want to be a victim, look like someone who is about to commit a crime. Look over your shoulders, look kind of paranoid, but also moving purposefully and confidently. The last thing an actual criminal wants as a target is another edgy paranoid potential criminal
Spooky yes, but I'd prefer to be stalked by a human than a bear or mountain lion. I don't know enough Brazilian jiu-jitsu to fight off a cougar or bear lol
I’ve hiked at the Superstition Mountains before. That area has rattle snakes, tarantulas, scorpions, mountain lions…the fact that some dude was walking around the mountains at night in complete darkness just shows how crazy he was. Luckily Sam made the right choice and didn’t go after his flashlight!
Do you remember the mining camp restaurant at the base? Did you ever eat there? Also that mountain has always freaked me out there is supposed to be lost gold out there somewhere
Dont u think that if something could steal his fleshlight it could kill him while he was asleep? I know its obvious fake but i like that kind of stories.
Lesson I've learned from Mr. Ballen. Whenever you decide to do something with a friend/friends and everyone cancels leaving you alone... don't do that thing.
Iv watched a lot of Mr balle s stuff an I can honestly say I have now opened my eyes more to the dangers in this big bad world and I have also learned a lot of lessons from his stories Mr John Ballen you truly are a legend!!!
It's light refraction in your eyes. Your brain is intelligent enough to know that the only glassy surfaces you'll see at night are the water reflecting the moon, and some eyeballs. Some people have mastered it, they're usually skilled hunters or trained riflemen though.. youve got to learn what assumptions to make when your brain gives you a clue.
I normally hate these types of channels because I suffer from crippling panic attacks (I don’t mean just bad anxiety, they manifest in the form of what I imagine a heart attack feels like and i have been hospitalized for them multiple times) but, Mr.Ballen is just such a comforting person to listen to, that I’m able to enjoy these videos.
3:00am is the demon hour. According to biblical accounts, Jesus Christ’s body finally gave out and died at 3:00pm in the afternoon. The demonic forces enjoy perverting everything Christ like and anything considered holy by inverting it. So the hour of Christ’s death at 3:00pm is now 3:00am which has now become the demonic hour. That’s why 3:00am is such a deadly time to be awake and why so many paranormal things occur at that time.
I'm thinking that I'm likely to never go camping alone again. My new goal in life: Do not do anything that will get me featured in a Mr. Ballen story in the future.
@@OG3XOG After listening to Mr B, I looked up where Bell Canyon was just so I would know in case that happened. Not kidding, I'm in Washington, not far from where that story took place. It's not close to Bell Canyon.
The things I've learned from all the Ballen stories are don't ever go camping, hiking or into isolated areas alone. If the offer sounds to good to be true, then it is. If you feel like you're being watched trust your indistincts. If you think things are being moved around your house someone is probably behind your walls preparing to kill you. If you take up scuba diving into under water caves you will eventually die. Never investigate strange sounds on your own and if people say that a place is dangerous you should stay far away from it and lastly never walk into our attempt to repair dangerous equipment without turning it off completely and having someone with you incase it goes bad.
MrBallens ability to create visuals when story telling is on a completely different level from everyone else. I catch myself closing my eyes and completely envisioning the scenery/landscape, which makes it 10x more intense. You are the GOAT story teller!!!
I’m right there with both of you! ☹️ But I’m happy to see someone coming to the worldwide use of the metric system! 👌 President Carter couldn’t do it, but Mr Ballen may be the one to finally bring Americans to join us in the metric system! 😄
Lol same here. Leave it to the military to let you know 24 hour clock measures and metric distance. We noobs from the states don’t know shit. And it makes so much more sense than the imperial measurements 🙄 Europe: metric Asia: metric Africa: metric South America: metric Antarctica: who the hell cares? Nobody lives there but still metric North North America(Canada): metric Australia: metric The United States: feet and miles!
@@Minimojojoy Carter got such a raw deal... he wasn’t the best president but he knew his shit and doesn’t get enough respect for what he tried to do 😕 I am more right than you could fathom but Carter just had bad luck with shitty global economy and the “Cold” War he just didn’t have any room to show how he was genuinely interested in keeping everyone alive. Sucks to have him as a failed president when he did everything right. Sorry for the tangent but as democrats go he is one of my favorites
I’m always eagerly refreshing Mr Ballen’s page around this time 😅 👁👄👁 Anyone else been here since his first few videos who’s watched religiously? Always the best part of my day, I work night shifts so I stay up a lil after work and wait patiently for a new video 😭
I watch him every video! I have to wait for the new ones cause Ive already watched all of his other videos! On youtube anyway I dont go to any other social media. They are too busy.(hfa)
The biological phenomenon when knowing someone is watching you is known as “gaze detection” or “gaze perception”, neurological studies have found that when you have the feeling you’re being watched, those brain cells telling you that are very very precise, always trust that feeling
Actually there is a electromagnetic grid that envelops all of us that we cannot see naturally.... And since our mind is electrical we can actually tap into this grid.... That's why when you feel someone that has bad intentions towards you that's because we are all connected on that electromagnetic grid... And if you don't believe me that's how lightning tracks you it literally pulls up your bioelectrical energy up towards the sky then it connects with a circuit of your bioenergy and then you get struck.... Everything in our world is made of energy anybody with the most basic understanding of physics should know this.... So when someone sees you and has bad intentions toward you you're going to pick this up.... Some people will call it psychic energy other people will call it esp but all it really is is natural electromagnetic energy that envelops your body and connects you to the surrounding energies.... That's why you get literally like a spidey sense is tingling sensation.... And paranoia is an unreasonable and ridiculous fear so for example paranoia would be thinking that Napoleon is out in the darkness and he's got a cannon and he's pointing it at you.... That is paranoia.... It's an unreasonable unnatural fear....getting the feeling that you're stalked is not unreasonable or unnatural....
It’s so bizarre how you can just feel eyes on you. There’s no way you should be able to know but somehow you feel something that makes you uneasy. Despite there being no real logic to it everybody knows what it is and what feels like. I’ve never really sat down and gave it much thought but it’s a very intriguing concept. Edit: ngl didn’t think this comment would get any attention since it was kinda just a random passing thought it thought I would share but it’s pretty cool it got the ball rolling on a nice discussion. Cool seeing so many peoples views on this topic so thanks for the interesting input.
I don't know this for sure, just my thoughts on it. But, I think it is because our eyes see something that we didn't consciously register. Like you scan a tree line and didn't see anything but then you get the feeling that you are being watched. I think its because you saw something in the tree line watching you but it didn't click in your mind. Like when you are looking for something right in front of you, you physically see the thing but for some reason it just doesn't click in your brain.
You don't feel eyes, you feel the presence of another person or animal. It's a subconscious reflex. Our brain can detect minor changes in the general environment around us that we interpret as someone or something in that area.
I believe it has to do with knowing that you are vulnerable or are in an area where you can be easily seen. Maybe also hearing incredibly faint sounds like rustling leaves or sounds that queue a thought of "something is near."
Ngl I like to test this on people sometimes and stare at them from a distance to see what sort of behaviour they examine and honestly I haven’t had any reactions that can confirm this yet I still believe it … mind you my intent was never sinister so maybe if people are staring at you harmlessly it doesn’t trigger any instincts or feelings
There are many stimuli that we process unconsciously. For example people who went blind because of a damaged visual cortex (the eyes still work but the brain cannot process it) can still recognize aggressive facial expressions and feel fear because of it. That's because before the nerve signal from the eyes is processed by the visual cortex, it is processed by a small structure that is there to detect hostile intentions and that is completely unconscious. And even so they can't see anything, they can feel hostile faces which is amazing.
When you watch some of these videos, did you notice how often people survived just because they had this "bad feeling" and decided in the last minute to rather not go into that cave etc.?! Their friends ignored that feeling and perished...
That’s usually how horror movies go...The main character gets a bad feelings says “hey, maybe this isn’t a good idea,” their friends laugh at them and convinces them to go on anyways and in the end they all die. 🤷🏽♀️
I kinda just told myself only to watch his videos during the daytime only! Lol I’m a wimp, oh well. I can hardly watch his shorts…omg constant jump scares and nightmare fuel! 😳
Seems pretty stupid to set up a trap for someone who’s asleep and the first step of your master plan is to steal their flashlight that’s right next to them. If they wanted to harm him they could have when he was wrapped up in a sleeping bag asleep.
@@DiamondCake2 No sir, u are wrongly assuming the stalker had a criminal mind... that he would gained something logical with his dead, taking his car for example... but there are no criminals in the middle of nowhere stalking random lonely people... what he encountered was a lunatic, and he didn't want to steal from him, he wanted to toy with him... which he did... He was in real danger...
Sam didn't bring a tent because it's a fake story. The guy took a flashlight from next to Sam while he was sleeping, didn't attack, and then tried to "lure" Sam away from his bonfire in order to attack him? Yeah that makes a ton of sense.
A tent offers no physical protection from anything except for rain. Having a tarp strung up over you offers the same amount of physical protection as a tent would have = none. So Sam bringing a tent or not bringing a tent doesn’t make him any more or less likely to be featured in these stories.
I just went solo camping in Oregon and I couldn't stop imagining this guy narrating everything I was doing like something bad was about to happen. Beyond creepy lmao
One thing is for dam sure: I am never going into the woods without at least two flashlights that also have guns attached to them and are attached to me.
Or u could just go in with a group of professional woodsman while making sure one of them is a badass ex special forces mf Along with a complete moron that no one likes that can be used as a distraction In other words you want to go with Rambo and me.
As a graveyard shift security officer posted at an open train station, I’ve had one of these unnerving feelings. Funny enough I was listening to MrBallen at the time, but the unsettling feeling would not go away. After my patrol routine, I would just post up in a spot I can see 80% of the site, but my back was faced towards the side street. On the other side were a couple small businesses with gated security and beyond the gates was pitch darkness. I’ve never felt anything like it in the 3 years I worked there, it just happened randomly and was just on edge the rest of the night. Thanks to this video in particular, I will always look over my shoulder when feel uneasy.
I worked the graveyatd shift alone in C-stores for 8 years. I learned the hard way to ALWAYS listen to your instincts. I got lucky as cops showed up before anything happened, but.....
I have to give the guy alot of credit- To deduce the flashlight was a trap, while fighting panic that would say "NEED THE LIGHT, NEED THE LIGHT", is a boss move. Ive been in the wilderness and had wierd experiences- as the saying goes "everyone has a plan till they get punched in the face". He performed well even after a punch.
i mean its kinda an obvious trap imo that dont take away the fact the kid did a stellar fucking job tho did that shit damn near perfect except for making a big ass fire although i do wonder why he wasnt scared of the lads knife
The woods are wierd places at night i live smack dab in the middle of a million acher park the Adirondack mountians to be specific whats scary is when your in the forest and it goes silent no birds no squirrels silence is usually the calm before the storm
What trap? If whoever was messing with him wanted to actually hurt him they could have done it when they got the flashlight and he was sleeping. Whoever it was screwing with him appeared to want to mess with his head and not actually harm him. Ofcourse you never know.
@@mojoelite yes, it's totally illogical. If they were by his side to get the flashlight, they could hurt him there and then, not set some stupid-ass trap with the flashlight. So either it was a total lunatic that didn't act rationally or it's wholly made up story
@@mojoelite Typically the goal with planned murders like this isn't to actually kill the person, but to feel powerful or to have fun. The murder itself isn't what's important. How the murder is accomplished is.
I'm from NJ where we have the Jersey Devil down south. If you grew up there, you know all about it and more likely than not believe it. I DON'T DO WOODS!!! There are God-awful things in the woods!!!
I live in a suburb near Amsterdam, and there'a park there, you would think nothing crazy would happen... but i had the worst day of my life running there
That flashlight trap is the scariest story (to me) that I've heard you tell so far. Because to me that indicates that whoever that was didn't want to just hurt him(they could have done that when he was asleep) but they wanted to scare, torture and possible kill him. Normal people don't even think about doing that to other people so, or lurk in the woods waiting for the opportunity to do it to someone so whoever that was. was really deranged!!
@@Skyril2 Like a friend would do something sick like that to a friend. Maybe give him a little scare and then reveal himself but that was a night of Sam experiencing extreme terror and fear for his life.
It kind of takes the sinister threat off of whoever did it just thinking of them back in the brush, sitting there like a doofus for three, four, five hours. Too sissified or mentally gone to say "screw it" and leave, or attack the guy already! Undoubtedly just some freak living off the grid that got threatened when someone was on "his turf", and just trying to scare him off, like the villains in the masks on Scooby-Doo. I could just see him as it goes into the fourth hour, in his little bush whispering to himself, "get ahtta here, you meddling kid!!"
ooo this reminds me of another personal story. Years back I was living at my parents' house, which is on a hillside with a bunch of undeveloped land behind it. There was a fire road on top of the hill that I used to hike all the time. I'd try to bring our dog up there on occasion but it always seemed anxious and wouldn't go down the trail unless I really yanked him along. One day I went up to the trail to do some jogging, but then it started to rain so I turned around and start jogging home. My shoe became untied and I bent down to tie it, and there in the fresh mud next to my foot was a mountain lion print. It had only been raining about 10 minutes and I had just passed this same section of trail probably 15 minutes before. Never saw the cat but after that I was on hyper alert every time I was on that fire road. I probably should've packed pepper spray or something but at the time I didn't realize how dangerous mountain lions could be.
As someone with an anxiety disorder, I can only hope that my "someone is watching me" instinct does not feel the same as the general feeling of impending doom that I feel several times a week. My mom says to trust my instincts but how can I do that when my instincts are fried? She went to a gas station when she was an older teen and someone got in line behind her. She had that feeling MrBallen describes. She didn't turn around, but paid for her gas and left. She noticed the other person got into their own car just after she got into hers and he proceeded to follow her down the street. She kept making random turns but he kept following her. I forget where she went, but she made it to a payphone and called the police. Turns out the guy had multiple warrants for sexual assault.
Yeah "trust your gut" isn't really helpful for like 40% of people But also I think it's possibly more important to train yourself to assert your needs... Like the old elevator example, whether or not you feel anxious getting in an elevator with a stranger at night in a parking structure, don't. Don't get in either way lol. But you have to have some skills to be able to just turn around and leave if there's someone in there. It's really awkward and they may pressure you. People often do things they don't even want to do, and they're trusting their gut, but they don't know how to deal with negative feedback from other people so they go along with it and suffer (Also i know sometimes it's dangerous to say no, too, but that's a whole other issue)
I have anxiety and I’ve also been in a life threatening situation. When I was 12 I was almost kidnapped. I had to walk along a long secluded road from my bus stop to my dance class, most of the time this was fine, but one day I heard a car coming up behind me but it was *slowing down* and I was hit with the most intense feeling. Hair on the back of my neck stood up, my stomach dropped, and i instantly felt WIRED. Something was WRONG and I needed to get out so I jumped across the ditch by the side of the road and ran up the hill and hid behind some parked cars in a used car lot. As I ran up the hill I heard the sound of a sliding car door shutting and a car accelerating away. When I looked it was, I shit you not, a white van with all the windows blacked out turning the corner by my dance school. It was one of the most terrifying feelings of my life and completely different from the way my anxiety feels. My anxiety feels sick and queasy and I feel mired and helpless. It’s a sticky fluttery feeling. When that car came up behind me the fear was sharp and cold.
Kay Jay: In 1980,I was living with a girl in south Louisiana. We were driving down the road one evening and got into an argument in the car,so I told her to pull over and let me out.I was going to walk back home. So I got out, walked across the road and started walking in the opposite direction. She then drove off. As I was walking along,a car passed me and then pulled over to the side of the road just ahead of me. Two guys got out of the car and they each had a pipe in their hands and they started toward me. I stopped and knew there was nowhere to go and it was going to be a fight for my life. There was no time to be afraid. But then, unknown to me,my girlfriend had turned around and came back to pick me up. She pulled along side me and opened the passenger door and yelled at me to get in.She turned the car around and sped away from there as fast as she could. She was very upset by what she had seen and of the thought of what could've happened to me had she not turned around and came back for me.
With sever anxiety it actually a remnant of human life before we settled down in to many civilizations. We where hunter gathers. People who where hyper aware were better at protecting themselves and hunt food. The highnt anxiety isn't bad it just means you are overly aware BUT when you truly are in danger your body will physically react more then just the internal feeling of dreed and doom. For example I was in a sever car accident more then once. I felt it getting into the car all the way up till right before we ended up in the ditch. Hair standing straight up my throat was tight and I was nausea my self. But my mom didn't listen to my complaining about turning back and going home something was wrong or missing
I love how in the camp video with the stolen torch, rather than be scare and run away or be stupid...the kid was smart, recognised a trap, put his boots on and grabbed his knife and ready for a fight!....not many people are that brave or smart
I'm a country girl and growing up my friends always laughed at me because I have never been camping in the woods, but after listening to MrBallen's stories, I've never been more convinced I made the right decision!!! 😄🤣
I have trekked into the forests in my locality for days at a time all by myself penetrating deep into the forest. Nothing more peaceful than camping at night on your own.

My whole life Ive always had that 6th sense to a scary degree, when I was younger I was told/thought it was a gut feeling. As I've gotten older I think it has more to do with energy & somehow certain people can read/feel the energy shifts in a room and/or environment.

I was charged by a sick mountain lion and it was the worst thing I’ve encountered. PTSD up the ass, but still couldn’t be as bad as something a human could do to ya. 😳
Sam's story was quite terrifying. My imagination was running wild with what might have been stalking him but when you said someone wrote "sleep well" definitely indicated that it was a person and not some creature but the fact that they are hanging out on a mountain and is not terrified of being out there in pitch black is scary af
I knew it was a person and when he realized the flashlight had been moved I DEFINITELY knew because a mountain lion or bear wouldnt know the significance of a flashlight!
I've spent quite a bit of time in the woods. Not once has a rock fallen out of a tree on or near me. Occasionally birdies and other gentle woodland creatures will drop shit on you, but that's a stretch in this situation.
The last one scared the shit outta me oh hell no imagine being paranoid all night thinking someone is watching you and then all of a sudden your fear is confirmed from a stalker writing on your window like wtf👁️👄👁️
And imagine that person literally staying up all night to fuck with you. I’m guessing they realized he was waking up and that why he heard them walking away when we woke up. But obviously it wasn’t a crazy mountain man. I wish in one of those stories that when the person hears them leave they they could then go stalk what was stalking them. That’s also why I want cars in my vehicle that start recording when they sense movement, because I feel like seeing who it was helps because you can put a face to it.
@@kylemonnin2071 A mountain man could just find scaring the tar out of hikers the only real source of entainment. More then likely it's just another camper that enjoys messing with people and knows that area well. The stalker probably doesn't get many chances like this and wanted to milk it all night.
There is a good chance that the swoosh sound the man heard in the first story was an arrow/bolt flying past his head. It would explain why he couldn't find the object nearby/didn't hear it hit the ground in a quiet forest.
@@digginggopher I can say from experience that an arrow passing closely to ones head does sound like a swoosh or even a bit like a sucking sound. I've had it happen twice. Once when I was young (my brother and I were messing around with my uncles compound bow) and once on a white tail hunt as an adult (we had someone in the group that didn't understand not to draw the string unless they were sure there was no one in the brush ahead of them). I'm not shocked that he didn't find the projectile. Arrows can fly far beyond where they are aimed if they miss. I've lost countless arrows in the woods despite knowing the angle and direction they were traveling.
Sam thinking it's a trap as his first instinct, and TRUSTING his gut to not fall for it, is probably the smartest decision I have ever heard anyone make on this series.
That's overblown. If he/they meant to do him any harm, he would have when he was right over him while he was asleep. My best guess is that this was some freak living out in the woods off the grid that had lost his mind in the extreme solitude (if not before that), and was just jerking with this guy.
I find the trap thing pretty unbelievable. Think about it. If their intent was to actually do harm, why set up a trap when they already got close enough to get the kids flashlight while he slept. That would've been the perfect opportunity to attack him. Not while hes awake holding a hunting knife ready for something to go down.
@@h91rex100 It probably wasn't to harm him per se, but more just to watch him struggle, thrash, scream, etc, plenty of people get off the suffering of others. Since as you said if they just wanted him dead they could of just done it when they grabbed the flashlight, but is less of a game to be enjoyed then.
When he was telling the last story and said that the stranger was about 10 ft. Away I thought he was gonna say that the stranger said "Do you know how to get to Bells Canyon?"
Mountain lions are extremely curious animals, and although their attacks are rare, them stalking people seems to be more common, one time I was out turkey hunting by myselg and there was a little snow on the ground and I basically walked a big loop, and there was a small feeling of being watched while I was out there, but I ignored it, but then as I looped back to my initial tracks I found mountain lion prints right in the middle of my tracks, it had stalked me for quite a while, so I stopped and waited to see it and I was in camo and I sat down against a tree and about 30 minutes later, I was looking at a bush and I realized a shape that I thought was just a shadow of the bush was actually the face of a medium sized mountain lion with its eyes just transfixed on me. At this point, I truly don't think it was interested in attacking me, after all I'm a big unknown animal, but I think it was just extremely curious and was watching me. But if it wanted to attack it would've had so many opportunities. I basically had a staring contest with this mountain lion for at least 30 minutes, and then it just got up, and sauntered away slowly.
you should of said to the cat "since you like to look, would like to look at my pals " "whos you pals " says the mountin lion " 12 gauge shotgun and smith and wesson " lol
@J B I believe there is a limited number of tags available in colorado for cougar, and we sure got a ton of them around, the one I saw was southern colorado near Alamosa
This might not mean a lot to other people, but the conversions on screen are extremely helpful. Trying to normalise, that there are other measuring units in the world is super considerate
@@OhZjuchi Do you know by how much? I have watched alot of mr.ballen videos including serial killers, cults, massacres, etc. But the last story about Sam is the one that scared me the most. I work outside so when I'm on break, I like to wander down cool looking paths. I've done this for years and enjoy it very much. Two weeks ago, I wandered down a natural path that led into the backwoods behind some retention ponds. I stopped to check out a super cool crooked tree but got a horrible, panicky feeling that made me stop. I hadn't heard any noises, I wasn't around private property, and there were no people there. There was no explanation for that rotten feeling. It was so overwhelming that I panic-ran back to the truck, locked all of the doors, and sat there panting for a minute, trying to see what the threat was. There was nothing noticeable but whatever was back there meant bad news. I've never, ever had such a powerful feeling like that before. No questions asked, I was outta there. Just thinking about it makes my body flutter.
Years and it hasn't never happened before or since I'm guessing I would say something or someone was definitely had bad intentions towards you glad you got out of there. That's the 6th sense I'm guessing?
Similar thing. Year's ago my now ex boyfriend and I would go out on his motorbike at night, sit and relax somewhere. One evening, we turned up at a place we'd been a few time's before. This time though, I suddenly started to demand we leave immediately. He was really annoyed at me, but hey ho. Well, the news report the next day, reported that a man had been murdered there!!! Definitely follow your instinct's 👍👍
This guy is literally one of the coolest people on TH-cam he was a navy seal which by itself is awesome and now he makes super interesting content on TH-cam and has 700k subs. Mad respect to you bro
Well a bird could easily have brought a rock up there and left it by accident. It's not stupid, it's more rational to think it's your mind playing tricks at night than it is to thing, 'OMG there's a stalker out in the middle of nowhere throwing rocks at me for no reason' lol
I have a friend who did the pct (a 2600 mile hike from the border of Mexico to the border of Canada along the west coast) COMPLETELY ALONE. She even met a guy on the trail who told her he thought he was being followed but brushed it off until after five hours he finally saw a cougar tracking him and she just went “yeah that’s fine” and finished the whole trail by herself and I still don’t know how she did it and didn’t become a 411 case
I use to camp alone when I was homless. It's better then staying in the city. And I didn't really care if something happened to me at the time I just hoped if something or someone attacks me I just wanted them to kill me quickly.
I used to camp in the forest of upper michigan with my daughter all the time. Not once did anything odd happen. Well except that one late night when a noise woke me and I peeked out of the tent with my flashlight to see a raccoon drinking a sippy cup of left out milk. Damn 🦝
The mountain lion thinking that it's going to eat a nice deer but getting closer and going into complete confusion to see a wierd looking thing on two legs and shoving water down it's throat like a madman.
No joke that last one got me good! I honest to goodness was like "It's okay. He made it. Everything is fine now." 'Sleep well?' "Holy shit!" Never before have I been so rattled by a story!
That “gut feeling” “hairs standing on end” “feel like being watched” isn’t something to joke about. It’s called human evolution and that’s a sense we haven’t lost through time. Trust it.
@@rrb396 scientific intuition, even. our brains are capable of something called “thin-slicing” which is essentially your subconscious picking up on patterns and waving a red flag for you.
In fairness, mountain lions watch us all the time w/o us knowing. They almost NEVER attack. I've spent years in the outdoors conducting field work, and I found evidence of a mountain lion following me/us numerous times. It became clear eventually from the tracks and sounds that they were just curious (and probably bored, lol). They are cats, after all. 😂 That being said, I wouldn't feel great about inviting the curiosity of a mountain lion if I had a set of elk antlers on my shoulders...
Yup... some ideas are really, really dumb. Especially when you start having second thoughts about it, but still do it anyway. They usually end up making horror movies about those kinds of bad decisions....
lol im convinced that there’s just a bunch of people living out in the middle of nowhere with no tv or video games to entertain them, so they just troll the city folk who come around.
Me and two buddies were long boarding through a park here in Oregon called Minto Brown. It was summertime and because of the foot traffic and bugs we went at 11pm. 10 minutes into our ride we stopped to drink some beer when we heard crunching of twigs and leaves. This park is very lush and forested and you can’t see past the tree line. My friend turned on his flash light and aimed at the blackberry bushes, and standing not 10 feet from us was a cougar. All 3 of us started waving our flashlights and singing at the top of our lungs (we were listening to bohemian rapacity on a Bluetooth speaker) and mobbed out as fast as we could. The irony is that earlier that day I was in a different section of the park and saw a sign saying (cougar sighting, beware of walking alone).
I had an incident as a teen that nearly qualifies me for a Mr. Ballen video: I was at my boyfriend's house (a few blocks from my house) later than expected because I fell asleep watching a movie. I didn't have a cell phone at the time, so my mom called my boyfriend and was super pissed off at me. I jumped up and decided I'd just walk the few blocks home since it is a quiet neighborhood. Less than five minutes after I started walking, a red jeep pulled up beside me. The driver was a 30-40 year old man, driving alone. He rolled his passenger side window down and asks, "Hey, do you like to party? I can take you to one..." I saw him reach for something in the center console, but wasn't sure exactly what it was. I say no thanks and keep walking while the jeep drives on and turns right. Once the car was out of sight, I picked up rocks from the road so if he comes back I can at least try to defend myself. The jeep loops the block, three times. At this point my hearts pounding and I am looking all around so this guy doesn't drive up behind me. I was crossing the street just around the corner from my house; as I'm crossing the jeep turns the corner and guns it toward me. Right as it would have hit me, I jumped onto the lawn and my mother turned the opposite corner in her car, effectively cutting the jeep off. I jumped in the car and she reamed me, and I told her that she could ground me for the rest of my life because I was pretty sure she had just saved me from a horrible death.
I gotta tell you that you're great at telling stories. I am captivated every time. You paint a clear image in my mind without fail. Thanks for creating these videos! You're awesome!
From the beginning of the video he talks about how human instincts are something we developed and are buried. My friend once said “Humans have the ability of being able to tell if something that looks human is not human, that means that at some point in time we needed to develop that to survive.”
@@Atlas_Atlantis yea it's only like the last 10000 years we've been the only humanoid species, before that we coexisted for a very long time with other humanoids, some probably very hostile.
Camping tips: always take a large sturdy tent. Never go alone. Collect a large pile of firewood before nightfall. Take at least one firearm and be prepared to use it. Take a dog with you if possible.
Appreciate those tips. Never going alone and at least bringing a fire arm if you do seems like common sense. Unfortunately for Sam it wasn't but at least he survived to tell the story.
I'm, generally speaking, not a gun person but I keep one firearm and that's for camping. Only had to use it once, somewhat similar story to Sam's, except when I hear the crunching of leaves I yelled out "I have a gun and I will fucking shoot you" and then I fired a couple shots into the direction from where I heard the leaves. Before the second shot even popped off I heard the running away from my camp.
oh yeah definitely I'd take being eaten by a mountain lion aaaaaaany day of the week compared to what people can do to me..... I've heard enough Mr.Ballen stories to be afraid of people way more than of animals :D
My dad told me a story about how he was riding his bike around the forest outside of town with his friend when he was 10, he hears something crunch behind him and they turn around and see a cougar running at them, his friend biked as fast as he could but my dad got off his bike picked it up and ran at the cougar screaming at the top of its lungs. It didn't expect this as it freaked out and fleas back into the woods. Long story short cougars will avoid combat
@@unclebaba3463 Damn, that's scary. An injury for any predatory animal means death by starvation, so most predators will avoid any scenario where they have to fight. It was smart of him to try to make himself look like the bigger threat.
@@unclebaba3463 "cougars will avoid combat"? Yeah...no...when being attacked by a large mammalian predators, your best bet is to do something strange and unpredictable to unnerve the creature. Most mammalian predators are not going to commit to attacking something that they can't readily comprehend. The reason why you can scare them off by shooting a gun into the air.
most cougars will avoid humans too. unless they have cubs but then they are still more likely to scare you off. there's only abount 27 recorded deaths by cougars over the last 100 years or so. fatal attackts are extreamly rare. so yeah id trust that big cat more then any human stalking me in the woods XD
I absolutely love the first remark of this video. I’ve been thinking lately about how we train that out of people; kids seem to go with their gut when they don’t like a new person but they’re taught to be polite. I think that eventually blunts our awareness.
Gracious…I’ve been binge watching this channel for DAYS straight, now!!! So glad this came into my algorithm!!! Before this, I was watching those TikTok “Unbelievable but True” Paranormal Stories Compilations and, sadly, they were starting to repeat each other😩. Totally love THESE though, because it’s ALL AROUND weirdness and creepiness 👀🍿🍫🥤👀
Funny how, in the second story, the man was willing to walk half a mile to the spring. Then half a mile back for his water bottle, then half a mile back to the spring… all while being less than a mile from his car. Makes sense.
It does sound like a stupid thing to do, but MrBallen has it that the guy was pretty dehydrated, and dehydration can mess with your head as well as your muscles...
You forgot about a half mile back...and then almost a mile back to his vehicle....Hopefully without the Moose antlers...to keep the mountain Lion from trying to hunt him down...
Being a mile away doesn't mean anything depending on terrain. Think a hike... probably isn't going to be a 15 minute walk to cover a mile. I thought that would be common sense.
Any story that contains: “he/she knew it was a bad idea, but they continued anyway...” I immediately start shaking my head 🤦♀️ No no no! Don’t do it!! Trust your gut, people!
Omg I must be being watched all the damn time!! I know that feeling, its like when someone watches you theres more of a connection then you think, and I don't think its just when something sees you but when something is putting all its focus on you

Here is the thing my friend. Ignore the stuff that can't hurt you, if you know how to use a gun, carry it if you feel you may need it, after all you are safer to have a gun and not need it, then to not have a gun and need it. Live a good life, use common sense when out and about in the jungle, forest, or major city, if you can always travel with a friend, better yet travel with a girl friend, they are much nicer to have along if nothing happens, they also give you the drive to protect them, it's part of nature, built into our lives as it is. If you are lucky enough, as I was in 1969 and find a great woman who loves you and is a great cook, then so much the better. God how I miss my darling, now gone for a year and 4 days.

You probably sensed that the party had a bad vibe to it without being able to put your finger on it.
And people try to say those are instincts, I’m no biologist or doctor, but I don’t believe instincts can predict the future especially when everything seems to be going perfectly well, it’s most definitely something more
The gut instinct is a gift. Not everyone has it nor will ever understand it. Don't even bother to explain it to most.

This shit worries me so much, I’m always have a handweapon on/near me unless I’m around people.

Sam didn't bring a tent because it's a fake story. The guy took a flashlight from next to Sam while he was sleeping, didn't attack, and then tried to "lure" Sam away from his bonfire in order to attack him? Yeah that makes a ton of sense.
@@tylerjeb7888 Well except that it sounds like it was just a few high school/college kids having fun and scaring him. That’s what I think happened.
A tent offers no physical protection from anything except for rain. Having a tarp strung up over you offers the same amount of physical protection as a tent would have = none. So Sam bringing a tent or not bringing a tent doesn’t make him any more or less likely to be featured in these stories.

Or just scare him :D
I was hoping it was a friend pulling a prank, but they'd have to be seriously committed. Probably it was a serial killer.
Probably just messing around. If they truly wanted to hurt him they would have done so.
ooo this reminds me of another personal story.
Yikes that's scary, dude. Mountain lions are no joke. The last time i thought a mountain lion was approaching me, I was so scared
Yeah "trust your gut" isn't really helpful for like 40% of people
But also I think it's possibly more important to train yourself to assert your needs... Like the old elevator example, whether or not you feel anxious getting in an elevator with a stranger at night in a parking structure, don't. Don't get in either way lol. But you have to have some skills to be able to just turn around and leave if there's someone in there. It's really awkward and they may pressure you. People often do things they don't even want to do, and they're trusting their gut, but they don't know how to deal with negative feedback from other people so they go along with it and suffer
(Also i know sometimes it's dangerous to say no, too, but that's a whole other issue)
ALWAYS BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS AS WELL AS YOUR GUT INSTINCTS. CARRY SOME TYPE OF PROTECTION ON YOUR PERSON.

@@jamesforsyth418 That's really sad... I just hope things are much better for you now though.
I used to camp in the forest of upper michigan with my daughter all the time. Not once did anything odd happen. Well except that one late night when a noise woke me and I peeked out of the tent with my flashlight to see a raccoon drinking a sippy cup of left out milk.
Damn 🦝

That “gut feeling” “hairs standing on end” “feel like being watched” isn’t something to joke about. It’s called human evolution and that’s a sense we haven’t lost through time. Trust it.

Evolution.
That being said, I wouldn't feel great about inviting the curiosity of a mountain lion if I had a set of elk antlers on my shoulders...
People do not realise how silently those lions can move

Bullwyn1971 You gave me a much needed belly laugh with tears in my eyes. Thank you.
MrBallen: "Before you skip this video......"
Me: "MrBallen, NOBODY skips your videos"
When does he say, "before you skip this video"? I must have skipped over that part...
@@karlsteffen7804 it was at the beginning of the video I commented on
True
ummm, no it wasn't. Never once, in any of his videos, that I can recall, did he ever say before you skip this video.
Especially in this video
I had an incident as a teen that nearly qualifies me for a Mr. Ballen video:
I was at my boyfriend's house (a few blocks from my house) later than expected because I fell asleep watching a movie.
Why didn't your boyfriend walk with you?

From the beginning of the video he talks about how human instincts are something we developed and are buried. My friend once said “Humans have the ability of being able to tell if something that looks human is not human, that means that at some point in time we needed to develop that to survive.”
Or to mate, lol,

@@DominicNJ73 I do the same thing, only from my home. The second anyone approaches my yard I'm blazing those guns like fire crackers on new years eve!
In the case of the last story, a firearm being stolen would be even scarier than a flashlight.

Being stalked by a mountain lion is still a hell of a lot less scary than being stalked by a person imo.
oh yeah definitely I'd take being eaten by a mountain lion aaaaaaany day of the week compared to what people can do to me.....
Yeah...no...when being attacked by a large
mammalian predators, your best bet is to do something strange and unpredictable to
unnerve the creature. Most mammalian predators are not going to commit to attacking
something that they can't readily comprehend. The reason why you can scare them off
by shooting a gun into the air.
most cougars will avoid humans too. unless they have cubs but then they are still more likely to scare you off. there's only abount 27 recorded deaths by cougars over the last 100 years or so. fatal attackts are extreamly rare. so yeah id trust that big cat more then any human stalking me in the woods XD
Knew I’d find this comment, it’s the first thing I thought.
Being a mile away doesn't mean anything depending on terrain. Think a hike... probably isn't going to be a 15 minute walk to cover a mile. I thought that would be common sense.
