    Hey there, I love how you are gluing random scraps of paper onto the coffee died papers. In my current junk journal I am using blank tea died papers and pages from a floral book, but I find that I feel limited somehow. Blocked some way. And now seeing your method, I feel that might be the perfect way to help get over the blank page anxiety and not limit yourself because the entire page is covered with pictures or text. I hope that makes sense.... anyway, I'm really enjoying the series so far. It's great to see the step by step process. And I look forward to next weeks lesson. x Marieke

    Very interesting and super pleasant to watch. I tend to add paper pieces to my journal pages after binding the signature into the cover. Delighted to see that stash of scraps...as big as mine....but just as awesome to drool over. Love rummaging around choosing which piece to use up😀 Joie 🌿❤️

      My paper scrap stash is so huge, and I am so methodical/anal I had t o organize it using accordion folders. I also teach Art Journal workshops so the organization helps with that, too!

    Hi I am so excited to find you! I too am Australian. I was wondering when you dry your coffee died paper what temperature do you have the oven and how long does it normally take? Do you put them all in on top of each other on a biscuit tray or something? I've never dried them in the oven. Thankyou I am really enjoying your video's!

    Quick question ...how do you dry your pages in the oven?

    • @JohannaClough
      @JohannaClough  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Depending on how much time I have, I do a combination of things. Usually while i’m dying all my papers, I put my oven on all the way up and let it preheat. As I dye the papers, I stack them in one pile and then when finished, turn off the oven and put the stack in the oven for maybe, 20 minutes give or take. That takes out a lot of the drippiness enough for me to handle and separate them again. From there I either repeat the process of preheating with the papers out and then allowing them to sit in while the oven cools, or if I have time to dedicate to it, i’ll dry the sheets one by one, with the oven on and me watching the entire time :)

    Hi!! I love it. Do the paper smell of coffee?

    • @nuvoclassic
      @nuvoclassic 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      YES! I don't drink coffee and the first time I tried coffee dye technique the coffee odor overwhelmed me. So I switched to using tea to dye, because tea has less odor....

    I have an account with Skillshare already and would like to take the class but can’t find it when I type your name or Namless in the search. When I click on the link it just tells me That this coupon isn’t available for me which I can understand but I still would like to take the class or do I have to wait for the first 500 then wait till it opens for everyone? Not sure. Thanks for your time.

      Hey love, sorry for any confusion but this class/series is all going to be here on youtube! We’re currently at part 2 so by now, hopefully everyone made their cover and their pages! I’m releasing each segment weekly, so the next video in the series will be binding the book. I don’t currently have any classes on Skillshare this video is just sponsored by them ♥️

    I don’t know if you will because it seems as though you want to keep some of your magic for Etsy (understandable too) but it would make my entire life if you made a tutorial on how you made the cover for your light blue journal. Even though I tried following the steps from the last tutorial and a few others I found I seem to have no luck with perfecting the effortless vintage look

    • @JohannaClough
      @JohannaClough  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you, Kat 💕 if i did a TH-cam tutorial it would be unfair (and unethical!) to those who’ve supported me by buying my pdf that covers all of the same information! The PDF version includes the same techniques used to make the light blue journal cover, (and my other hard cover journals) 🥰
