    I love your video! I put the tied strings to the top of the journal so i can leave the book standing up and the tied on dangles hang down the spine. Just another way to do it. For me, they are in the way at the bottom when I write or create art in my journal. But I love your journal and your ideas for hanging items! Thank you for sharing!🌸

      I, too, thought I’d prefer the beads and dangles at the top of the journal. They could decorate the spine and be moved out of the way when working in the journal.

    I really like how the charms and such are randomly spaced on the strings. Thanks for all the great ideas.

    Johanna, what type of thread or string is that you used please??? I love the vibrant color instead of ivory or white.

    Love your charm ideas. I never would have thought of scissors, or a bottle or even a bobbin, but they look so cool. Thanks

    I am loving this series! I have done so many things I never tried before. I'd never painted a cover, added dimension to a cover, or done a cut out on a cover before. Stepping out of my comfort zone has been great! It doesn't look as good as yours but imperfect is just fine.

    How fun and how true, you don't have to have super jewelry making skills! Thank you for sharing this method of finishing off/adding charms to a journal. Laura

    Great process video Johanna:) I've made a LOT of really simple junk and art journals, I tend to like smallish, easy and simple projects. Perhaps I can use beads on my journals now...I like to use my stash and I have some in my collection. Let's see:) joie xxx

    Love this, I have a question which may have been answered somewhere and I missed it🙃 but is there. ReSon you type your charms and baubles to the bottom, as opposed to the top? Thanks!

    Any tips on getting a bead and charm button collection going? Do you buy new beads? Those can get pricey. Any good shops you recommend for charms?

    • @RobinfromCA
      @RobinfromCA 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Go to flea markets, estate sales, garage sales, antique markets - if you're not in the states then go to op shops which seem to have far more interesting things than I find here. Sometimes I see vendors at flea markets who sell vintage buttons by the scoop for very little money. You can also find unique buttons or bulk buttons on eBay.

    What type of thread do you use on your journals?

    • @ruthiev618

      I wonder why she has not shared the type of thread used for charms 🤔

    • @brookecarver7
      @brookecarver7 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think its linen thread. I saw her answer on another video.

    • @ruthiev618
      @ruthiev618 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I asked what she suggested, wax linen thread.

    • @ruthiev618
      @ruthiev618 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have you heard of polished linen thread? Wondering if that would work better because it'll be less thick? 🤔

    Ummmm ... Actually I have an idea... People who don't have any kind of charms to add or who can't buy them.... Can make some kind of beads themselves using a clay... Isn't it a gud idea ?? I mean it's not even costly... When I'll make a journal for myself I'll surely do this ...
    Btw thanks Johanna for inspiring me ❤❤💖💖

    I love your work, but would not enjoy using a journal I had made with all of these dangling objects in tow.
