@@thevinylhunters They are far from obscure. One of the singles (Don't Speak) from Tagic Kingdom knocked the Spice Girls off #1 (UK). The album itself was in the top 100 of the decade (and pretty high up that list too). Although not quite Michael Jackson/Queen level of fame where even people not interested in music have heard of them, they were well known enough that I'd think everyone interested in music would know them, espcially if their era of interest or introduction is the late 90's.
@@thevinylhunters I'm surprised you haven't heard of them but you're not missing much. Don't Speak is the only song I think I know, but it was played everywhere.
Great video, almost like a 'What's In My Bag' at Ameoba records but it was hard to see what Chase bought. (Saw The Cure/Discharge) I have that Sleeper record on vinyl, a superb record. Nice that he was getting into Dub - some of those records cost a fortune, a real rabbit hole. That Nick in the store really looked like Tony Visconti 😊Cheers, Paul
The owner of All Ages is such a sweet and knowledgeable guy! Reckless Records in Soho is a great spot for rare and cult records, often times you can strike gold at a Flashback location too
@thevinylhunters not particularly, but only just heard of them. Giving them a listen now and they sound great, the singer seems like a really nice guy in your video 👍🤘
Good meeting you guys in Chelmsford yesterday jake…also meeting twink…. Interesting guy.. if you can remember to look out for that van halen album I’d appreciate it…see you next time 👍 kev
I visited this shop for the first time last weekend, so sick, what a place! Just a constructive comment, id have liked to have seen what he picked up, incase it would have expanded my musical taste/knowledge. good video though man!
This was painful to watch. I'm not sure how someone doesn't pick up on clear social cues. Nothing says 'this is going well' like a clenched jaw and lack of eye contact.
@@theycantallbezodiac Which doesn't mean NO stock. For example, there are 2 main record shops in my town plus a couple of very new ones. Of the oldest 2, one is a cheap shop with blokes up for a laugh and don't take the shop too seriously and promote local bands. The other is run by a woman who took over from the previous owner who retired. She has expensive and good stock (Blue triangle Dark Side, Electric Ladyland etc.). But if you go to trade she checks every one on Discogs and expects you do drop the rejects in her cheap bin for free. Er, no! So despite the lower 'quality' of stock in the bloke's shop, it is the better shop and best in my town. Certainly the most entertaining and I spend a lot there on the rare occasion that I have enough money to make a visit worth my while.
Fields of the Nephilim while wearing an Anathema shirt and a Paradise Lost cap! Love the widespread love for goth inspired music that metal bands have.
Thoroughly enjoyed this. I've got approx 250 cassettes of late 80's to early 90''s USA hair metal music. Can I suggest you listen to tracks on TH-cam from the LP's 'Under The Influence' by Wildside and Sven Gali's self titled debut album. You won't be disappointed!
How have you never heard of No Doubt?!
Who knows why! Perhaps upon listening to some songs I’d recognise them.

@@thevinylhunters Don't worry, this crap was destroyed MTV in 90s by replaying this "Don't speak" piece twenty times per day :)
@@thevinylhuntersIt's a bit like missing a flying broken bottle. Definitely advisable. They were shite.
OG Anathema shirt and Paradise lost cap, good man.
Cool video, All ages is a great little shop.
Throughout the time I got to hang out with the band he mentioned the Peaceville three a lot!
@@thevinylhunters Those who don't listen old Anathema and Paradise Lost should be deprived of UK citizenship :)
Anathema, Paradise Lost, Cathedral and Skyclad were my favourite 90s metal - the first half, up until 1995 for all four bands.
I love when bands do vinyl hunting and their influences. Also love the paradise lost hat, respect.
Chase is a cool , down to earth guy . Thanks for posting 😎👌
ALL AGES knowledgeable, fantastic place..
We agree!
I love All Ages! Always go there when I'm in London!
Spotted the new Black Knife LP. Really rad to see it out in the wild!
Great vid. I think Chase is on the money with printed music stuff being super collectable/ valuable in future.
I think so too! I don’t think he’s thinking of the monetary value, more so of the novelty and importance of printed stuff in a world full of screens!
Ya'all need to go to Plastic Wax record store in Bristol UK.. The stores been there over 35 years and the same guy has worked there the whole time ❤❤
All Ages Records is the best record shop in London hands down
I see Slimelord in the racks!
Get that picked up!

Damn record shops in london are crap nowadays
I found that how good a record shop is, comes down to the attitude of the owner and your subsequent relationship. Irrespective of the stock.
@dcarbs2979 no point going into a shop if there's no stock
