My goodness this is the best cruise news channel on TH-cam!! Seriously, all the other cruise news channels have long videos and it takes them forever to get to the point, where your channel is daily and the videos are quick, all the information in two minutes!
Thanks so much for the kind words. I have to do the news how I like it delivered, short and to the point. The other channels will pontificate if you’d like to know more or have a longer attention span.
Was recently on a Carnival ship & noticed a good amount of security however did hear stories about kids/teens knocking on doors and running away in the wee hours of the morning. Have a good one!
Mornin' Doug! Glad CCL is stepping up their security game. Hopefully it leads to a better experience for everyone. The "improved on-board spending" NCL is praising might also be described as "successful nickel-and-diming campaign.". We really try and limit our onboard spending to a few things we really enjoy. USS United States is looking pretty rough. Sad to see it go, but better a reef than a breaking yard.
The fact that more security is needed on some cruise ships reflects well the new reality of cruising and maybe the ships to avoid...anyway in my case. Thank you for all the information you gather that you present to your lucky viewers in the most professional way. I was lucky enough to find your channel quite some time ago, which I appreciate a lot. Have a great weekend. Take care!!!😊
Good morning Doug! I think that Carnival needed more security, but only 2 more positions? Drop in the bucket. Thanks for the updates and I hope you have a great weekend.
I thought you could easily add a few more cruise ships in Mobile, or any other departure port by adding a secure remote parking lot and a bus service. That you can put in place within a few months and as long as the port only takes 1 ship each day all other facilities are already capable of handling more ships.
Yeah, that is what I was thinking too while I was reading the story. Remember when Carnival bailed on them in 2011 after they built a 25 million dollar terminal? They eventually returned with Fantasy in 2016. I’d be taking that approach then relying on a cruise line to help subsidize a new terminal.
@@CruiseRadioDoug, just found it so narrow thinking that you MUST have a huge parking lot in the port. The port area is prime real estate and often limited ability to expand. I am retired from working in the aviation business and there are so many similarities between Cruise Terminals and Airports as well as Cruise companies and airlines. Airports would never say no more flights as our car park is too small. As long as the terminal can handle more flights and the runways can handle more flights go out and find airlines to use them. Remote car parks are perfect for Cruising as you are away for a few days so adding an extra 30 minutes on departure/arrival should not be a big deal. Make them slightly cheaper and add Bag acceptance by the Cruise line and you have a winner. Total cost is lower as real estate is cheaper, so even at lower prices they are likely to be more profitable.
It wouldn't surprise me if Margaritaville at Sea and Norwegian wind up in Mobile. Also of note, Mobile is replacing the Civic Center, the site of which was used as additional parking for the cruise terminal. Construction is expected to be completed in 2026. Now if Mobile can get some better air service . . .
Morning Doug Wow good for Carnival. AMAZING for NCL.Never really thought of cruising out of Alabama.Great photo of the week.Ty for your updates.Have a wonderful Friday and wkd.😊
Good morning! I’ve done it once. It was a different experience. It’s one of those ports (for at least me) that getting there is a 6 hour drive or 5 hour flight (connecting), so i usually pick South Florida. Unless something special like Carnival Ecstasy last sailing.
@CruiseRadio daughter and I were nervous we flew into Mco then drove to port canaveral parking etc.Found it very easy arriving and departing was at typhoon lagoon by 915 lol
Probably, and the ships getting bigger and bigger isn't going to help, either.. Longer lines, more people, less courtesy in general among people, are all contributors to trouble. It's not just on Carnival, they just seem to get the bad press.
NCL cost cutting equals huge decline in quality of service and drastic cutting in overall entertainment. After sailing with NCL for years we are now booking different lines.
Good morning Doug. Thanks for all your updates. Carnival is the party cruise line, sad they have to bring out security. But, some of the stories I see these days, no ship is immune to drunks, peeping Tom’s and theives. Thanks Doug! Have a beautiful day.
The Carnival RSA staff need to be bulking up and doing strength training. It’s a formidable task to attempt to get between a Carnival drunk and their drinks package.
mobile would serve NCL/RCCL cruise lines better than NOLA (less crime and also avoiding 8+ hour trips up/down river meaning less costs for having to use so many river pilots)... so would Gulfport if they would've opted to actually do something; easy access to open waters (like galveston) and they could team up with local casinos/airport/tourism board for deals for staying at casinos + cruise deals
Sad that it's necessary.. I saw more security on our cruise in October than I have ever seen, so Carnival is battling their reputation. Remember, everyone they make a security guard is another position on the ship that has to be reduced by that same number. Since the crew live on the same ship as the rest of us, adding staff in one place removes staff from another.
Mobile Terminal parking spaces sell out all right! I bought one because of my handicapped daughter and had to park down the road in a mud hole under I-10! I had to drop her off and go park in the freaking mud. Then walk back to the terminal because the freight train was blocking the shuttles. We were not able to check in together. It was even worse on return, because my daughter was unable to climb the steps on the shuttle. We had to turn in the rental mobility scooter, so she had no where to sit. We had expected to just bring the car down from the deck parking spot I paid for and load her directly into the car. I had hike to the mud hole to get the car because another train was blocking all the shuttles again. To make it worse, it’s nearly impossible to get back to the terminal to pick up my wife and daughter because the train is blocking traffic and it’s backed up down the interstate. It’ll be better if they actually have enough parking at the terminal, but the freight trains are not going away. Never again! Never!
dancing in a packed dance club on a carnival ship that was 80's music not a security guard in sight. two hours later same club but a hip hop dance time again the dance floor packed and 12 armed security guards manning the exits. A total different demographic at the club....
The only reason for carnival to have this position was a lawsuit. They have to show their response for improvement. Ppl can’t take responsibility for their own actions and sue because of their poor decisions.
They will never pay off that debt. Imagine getting a line of credit like that and still being able to stay in business. I’ll take a cool billion and pretend to pay it off for the rest of my life.
Good news on Carnival new security additions!!! Thanks for sharing 🛳️🛳️
You bet! Have a nice weekend.

Kudos Carnival especially with security at the adult section. I've seen more kids than adults in there!
You know, i watched a father with two kids berate a towel attendant who said Serenity is adults only.
Good to see ship to become reef! & hear about port Mobile. About time Carnival created more security on ships
There should be more handling of the drink packages that are more likely the cause of problems on board.
Agree. I believe they now limit you to 15 drinks per day. 15? I'd have alcohol poisining!
@@daisysmom75always has been 15 drink limit. The package would be a waste of money for us and Carny would love us to buy it for that reason.
Thanks Carnival. Happy Friday Doug.
Same to you!
It's about time Carnival.
It is needed. When is the next sailing?

You’re welcome .

I am sure it will be multiple, plus they have 27 ships. I’d imaging problem ships may get more.
Have a great weekend. Thanks for the update. Doug.
Thanks, you too!
Thanks Doug, we always start our day with your News!
Wow, thank you for the support. So appreciated.
Have a wonderful weekend Doug and thanks for the updates!

A shame to see that this is necessary but thankfully you are doing something about it!
Yeah, weird times. Right? Cruising used to be super relaxing. And it wasnt that long ago.
Okay. See you Monday.

have some room to expand .. You have Yourself a Great Weekend ..
Good am Doug.
Thanks, you too! Only sailed out of there once but would do it again.
Never have , Good area
for Hotels & Eats ..???
It's sad that Carnival has to do this. Its embarrassing at this point.
But also will it REALLY work?
Go Mobile GO, it's about time to look into other cruise lines
With as many new ships are being built. It may be an only viable option for the Gulf.
It's about time
On point.

30+ security on the 25 day sailing from Singapore.. average age 65.. only 30 kids .. but we need security

Good luck Carnival. We went on one cruise with them and decided never again. Mainly, due to lack of enforcement of adult areas.

It blows my mind how they were able to do it. Luckily interest rates were super low, most of them were locked in 4-5%.
I’d like to see smaller Carnival ships for a more intimate, mature crowd but still family oriented. 🫶🏾🌎
