5 yrs of quilting/sewing and I'm now getting into bag making. I've watched several tutorials on specific bags and have made a few but I have to say this is the best video tutorial I've ever watched. I'll be making this bag right away. Thank you from a new subscriber. :)

Tutorial of the year and maybe of all time! Now this is a proper tutorial. Not those videos which fly like the blink of an eye! Thank you very much for making this comprehensive tutorial. It sure went from A to Z.

Sara, you are a gem. Thank you so much for giving clear concise directions that show all the steps, not assuming we know how to do what you’re doing. Even if we did know, we might learn a new easier way. I really like your channel and your method of teaching.

Instead of slip stitching the lining closed, I inserted Velcro and made the space between the lining and the bag into a secret compartment. xoxo from sunny Arizona.

Just finished my first bag. A few modifications, though. I am a conceal carrier so I made one of the inside side pockets into a carry pocket for my holster and gun. Worked out beautifully...next one will be even better ! Also, I added an outside pocket for my cell phone. Now, I am ready to design another one !

    On your zipper strips
Rather than mark folding over to iron lines I run a long 4mm+ stay stitch at the 1/4”. Then it folds and irons exactly where I want it. Then after stitching closed I can easily pick and pull out that fold stitching.
I do the same thing on any spaces fo a hole to leave open to turn something right sides out. That also keeps the opening from stretching out when turning.
The zipper panels I would sew both sides on at the same time and make them both tubes and then with zipper all the way opened turn both tubes with the ends open... worth trying it so you can share shortcuts and efficiency

Great tutorial on this lovely bag! I am not clear on why your zip has one long end, and I didn't see an end photo of where it sits on completion? Or did I nap and miss something?! The pattern shows a shorter one, this one seemed very long. Loved the tips on sewing in a side insert and dealing with the curves! I am not confident with rivets etc so missed seeing that done too. Thank you.
