I do love how you just tell it like it is. You are right in saying that people should do what they want and that you don't make any excuses for what you like! I have tried to eat fairly healthily my whole life, and I have had cancer now 3 times (in fact I'm having chemo and radiotherapy at this time) the dietician told me to forget diets and worrying about eating healthily, she told me to just make sure I get my calories in so that I don't lose weight. So, while I can still eat properly (I won't be able to soon, I will have to use a feeding tube) but while I can I will be trying a lot of your food. TFS and have a great weekend! 👍💖
Hazel I'm so sorry to hear this💕💕interesting what the dietician said, makes sense - dieting must add stress and your body doesn't need added stress on top of it all. Much love and keep fighting 💪🥰💕
@@budgetcookinguk Thank you so much Kerry, hopefully I can get it in in time, before 'losing my swallow' and on to liquids through a tube . . . can't wait. If not, I will certainly save it for a celebration when I get through to the end! You are so good to your followers, I'm glad I found you! 💖💖💖👍
Hi Kerry thanks for this, ive only had my cosori for about two weeks ( my first airfryer) so i value all your lovely videos. I personally dont add oil to my frozen chips but its definitely down to everyones personal taste. Ive not tried the homemade yet but i will now ive watched you do it. I love my airfryer so far, i have health issues so i find it so much easier than using my oven and food tastes better too. Thankyou for sharing all these ideas i really appreciate you and i love your honesty and your chats :)
I started using an air fryer about 18 months ago, I haven't bought in any frozen chips, or pre made crisps, since, easy to make and the home made version tastes so much better, imo.
Thank you for sharing Kerry. I'm not keen on frozen chips, I always do homemade usually in the air fryer. I don't stir my chips but I do shake the basket several times to mix them up lol.
Hey Kerry don't take any notice they're just stirring it! Lol . Ps as im retired i dont have chips so often but when i occasionally get them from the Chippy i half them, then reheat them the next day or so and find them so more delicious...😅
Hi Kerry, it's me again. Just had frozen chips and tried what you said, adding some oil😊 Before you all scoff, try it! It's a game changer. Thanks for that Kerry, won't be going back for quickness. Couldn't believe the difference😁 Jen xx
Thank you. Xx homemade everytime for me. You get potato not what the frozen ones have been through. Dripping always was what was used in my younger days when mum cooked them in oil in a pan on the gas stove . They were lovely. Mum always used lard .or deep dripping .
i only make home made chips now-days but i cook the taters in the micro for about 3-4 mins first. you seldom find mealy/starchy potatoes here so i have to use those ones that take well over 30 mins to cook and chips from raw just don't work :D
I rarely have chips but, like you, I prefer to taste beef dripping, so I always have some in the fridge - usually to cook Yorkshire puds, tbh! Lol Mind you, adding some beef dripping to frozen chips, is new to me, so the next time my daughter visits, I'll tell her to cook them that way - we both love beef dripping, & don't care about using it, as we rarely eat fast food! Lol I bought a Cosori 6.4L Dual Blaze, in 2022 - it's my first, & only, Air fryer so far - I'd love the double basket one, but it would be too much with just myself for most of the time, & I can cook almost a complete meal for myself (fish n chips, or something quick & easy for me) in the Dual Blaze! 👍

Can't beat chips cooked in dripping. Everybody has their own way of doing things. I grew up with grandparents. They always used lard or dripping. Everything tasted lovelyxx. I do prefer homemade chips. They looked goodx
Watched this video earlier, I have made home-made chips before in air fryer, but never have they come up so nice. I put some lard in my fryer about the same amount as you did and copied you with the temperature and timing absolutely brilliant, came up nice and crispy soft in the centre and very very tasty. I also copied with the sea salt. Thank you very much. This is the way I shall be cooking my chips in future. Big thanks once again😋👍⚡️
Hi Kerry, I tend to steam my potato chippies first to start the cooking of the middle part of the chippie, cause putting them in water makes the whole chippie wet and the starch sticks to the outside, i then spray them with oil while they are still warmwith a 1/4 tea spoon of tumric for colour, give them a good shake, before banging the chippies in a hot tray from the air oven with a bit of 'suzy' salt on them : )

Evening Kerry, I prefer homemade chips, but it depends what you're having them with also, I think. I used to peel and cut my potatoes to chips and steep them in cold water all day until ready to cook them, then pat them dry and season, then cook. Nothing beats a good "tottie chip" (homemade chip 😂). I definitely agree that adding some kind of oil to frozen chips makes a difference. Have a lovely weekend, Kerry xxxx Jacs 💚❤️
Hiya Jacs, defo😀👍💕 me too, soak for hours lol now I cut and throw in, without peeling. Comes out delish, the cosori dual blaze (single one) is ace for chips & roasties. You too! (I've emailed you😉💕)
@budgetcookinguk I think it was actually you. I saw doing that the first time tbh 🤣🤣. I'm not keen on skin on, but that's just personal preference. I usually make mine in my salter as it's the bigger basket out the 3 but it has air holes in the actual basket as the basket clips into the drawer with the handle attached, so it means you have to spray the chips rather than coat them in melted lard etc. Anyway I'm waffling haha. I've emailed you back xxxx 💚❤️
I always use beef dripping for my chips, it makes for the best taste. I was using chip fryer on hob but bought an air fryer and the taste is just as amazing.
I always use Maris Piper potatoes for my home made chips Kerry and like you it's skin on,I have to use 1 cal spray as Carol attends a slimming class so all my cooking is done with that,I do mine at 200 for about 20 minutes and they come out golden but not crispy as the 1 cal sprays don't crisp the food,I shake mine about 4 times during that 20 minutes,I do have frozen chips in the freezer that I use if I'm eating on my own, more convenient, another really enjoyable video flower Xx
