I was reminded of something while watching this video when you mentioned your four recipe books (I have all four, BTW, and have learned much from them). I'm sure that many people (including myself) would like to have a fifth recipe book from you, with a selection of your holiday recipes. Hi John, I’ve just tried the recipe and for general information for yourself and other bakers here are my observations and experience. I didn’t have a metal loaf tin that would fit in my air fryer ( it’s the same one as yours ) so I used a silicone tray the same size as a loaf tin. The result was that the bottom of the loaf was still uncooked, so I turned the loaf upside down and gave it an extra 7 minutes at 160o and the loaf was fine. I will buy a metal loaf tin that fits in the air fryer and try the recipe again and let you know how it turns out. Thank you for the recipe !!
Yes i had the same problem . I have the slightly smaller Ninja ( 7.6l ) model .Unfortunately here in Greece the metal loaf tins are all too big for my air fryer !!! So i am still looking
None of the 2-pound loaf pans made to USA measurements, including the disposable aluminum pans, fit this Ninja DZ550 Dual Drawer. I distinctly heard John say his 2-pound loaf pan fit, and I saw him place it into the drawer. It seems I have no other recourse but to order a loaf pan made to English measurements from John's Store. Glad you had success with a silicone baker, but I prefer to bake in a metal pan or in a pinch a disposable aluminum one.
Thank you John for an excellent video! So well produced with a clear explanation of everything. Not a minute wasted with unnecessary padding thanks to a carefully considered script. The gold standard and a lesson to others.

I was also a reluctant convert. Thinking air fryers were just another food fad like sous vide appliances which are, in my opinion, way too much trouble for the home cook. John's air fryer bread-baking tutorial won me over though, so I clicked on Amazon and the rest is history. This bread is every bit as good as traditional oven-baked; the difference is technique which is well explained in this video. I just baked John's Seeded Bread in my air fryer and like it even more than oven-baked. I would mention that I am not a fan of silicone bakers, I have the best results with baking tins.
@JeannetteShoreland we have the same machine at home. We use it for most frying, but there are still things you need oil for. Fish and chips, for instance. Anything with batter, really.
Thank you for sharing the technique of folding a couple of pleats into the clean tea-towel covering the raw dough while it is rising. That is a very practical solution especially if one has aggressive yeast or one tends to add a little extra yeast or adds bread booster to one's flour. I often hedge my bet so to speak.

@JohnKirkwoodProFoodHomemade thank you, John. First loaf was, surprisingly, actually edible, but I know I can improve with your expert guidance. Will be giving your channel more attention in due course. Best wishes, Bill
Your demonstrations are amazing - clear instructions, simple recipes, but really good food. I haven't made bread since the 70s (there was some sort if strike, maybe flour not being produced - I can't recall). On the subject of bread - about 75 years ago students at a nearby tech college would go to the bread shop, buy a small fresh loaf, pull open one end, pull out and eat some of the inner on the way to the fish and chip shop, and there the staff would lightly butter the hollowed out inside and fill it with a sixpenny portion of hot chips. Delicious. Add some shredded meat or chicken or sausages. Really fast food. E❤
Thanks so much, John, for this great recipe. My daughter and me are ready to give this beautiful loaf a try in our air fryer... We can't wait any longer. Greetings from Spain 🙏💜

This looks amazing, John! I love making bread but even though I don’t have an air fryer I had to watch this video. I learnt some stuff too (last minute egg wash 👌🏻) that I can use in my regular baking. Thank you so much. ♥️
John, thanks for an interesting channel. I have used a Bread machine to make my bread (fairly successfully) I was very interested in your use of the Air-fryer so I used your recipe to mix the dough in my bread maker, after 72 mins I took it out of the bread maker, kneaded the dough on the work top and placed the dough in the bread pan to rise in the oven for 45 mins, then into the air-fryer for 25 mins. And it worked well. Thanks for the inspiration
I tried making a loaf just using my bread making knowledge...wish I'd seen this before! Thank you, now I know what I did wrong. Can't wait to try this the next time!

Hi John, just to say ... brilliant video. I've tried dozens of bread recipes and processes to try and find something close to 'bakery bread' and was beginning to think they used a secret ingredient only available to the trade! :) I split my dough after the first proving ... one half to be baked as intended and kneaded some softened onions and cheese into the other. I then placed then lengthwise in the baking tray for the second proving and baking. Worked a treat but the combined loaves needed longer than the 25 mins. in your video. I actually did 25 mins. before the remove them from the tray action and another 12 mins. before egg washing and the final 5 mins. bake. Both were top class. As a retired cook have you noticed the decline of the Chelsea Bun (in the south if not national). How about a video for those of us who remember the Chelsea Bun and are dying to taste them again! :)

@Full-tilt-banana - Yeah - I think it needs about 30 mins plus.
