Personally I love the Build your dream logo on the back - the car too is amazing and wonderful to drive - I got the surf blue Atto 3 comfort model just loving it …
Each to their own, glad you are enjoying the car. Don’t let me tell you how to enjoy it!! Thanks for watching.
It looks SOO much better....
Agreed! Thanks for watching. Make sure to subscribe.
Great stuff, I have a white one ordered here in the UK and will follow this exactly 👍🏼
Glad it’s helpful. We’ll be making more content like this so please subscribe.
Good job!Chinese users don't really like build your dreams badge too,not to mention English native speakers;just BYD is enough.
Very true! Thanks for watching!
是的,那一行字有点累赘
Thanks for this. I think I’ll just book you in.
Haha no worries. Just chuck us a DM and we’ll sort you out!
Thanks for the tip. I did with thin fishing line and lots of patience.
Sounds good. Glad it helped!
Thanks for the video! I have a couple of questions and appreciate your advice.
My Atto 3 is already over a year on the road. Is the process of removing the letterings the same?
1. There will inadvertently be some dirt around the alphabets despite my best efforts of cleaning it. Will heating etch the dirt onto the paint leaving a shadow after the entire process?
2. Any possibility of old/new paint contrast for a year old car as the parts under the alphabets are sheltered for a year versus the exposed area.
3. Heating for a year old car will have same softening effect on the adhesive as shown in your video?
Appreciate your advice as I hope to get this right.😅
There may be a possibility of contrasting colours with the old/new paint. But if the car is garaged and doesn’t see the sun 24/7 then that’s less likely to happen. Unfortunately you won’t know until the badges come off.
There’s no issue with heating it and the dirt or adhesive.
@@steadfastdetailingsydney Managed to successfully remove the Build Your Dreams logo following your video and advice to the letter! Thanks a bunch!😀
Question: Do you know a way to remove it from the Dolphin? I know it's behind some clear plastic, but surely that can be removed first, apply fix shown here, then put the clear cover back on.
Unfortunately not! Dolphin isn’t available in Australia yet so I’ve yet to come across one.
You could place a black decal over it? I hear it's impossible to remove without disassembling the entire tailgate
That's so much better the badging on BYD cars is horrible
Cheers thanks for watching.
Although I don't own a BYD car but I know I can sleep better tonight.
Nothing better than a good night’s sleep.
Does the front BYD logo come off the same or is it moulded in the plastic?
I think it’s molded into the plastic.
How much for you to just do that 'Build Your Dream' decal on the back?
On average, you’re looking at $200.
Can I use a heat gun? thanks for the tutes
Yup definitely, just don’t leave it in one spot for too long!
I'd be very, very careful with a heat gun. They get MUCH hotter than hair driers and could blister the paint underneath.
@@davidcolin6519 Agree. I have two settings on mine. Even that I use sparingly.
Would it be wise to do this on a novated lease car, we're going to sell it at the end of the 5 year term - would it affect resale value to debadge? I also prefer the look of just BYD but will deal with build your dreams if it would be a negative for resale
No it wouldn’t affect resale value, to be honest, most people would not even notice if it was removed because it simply looks ‘cleaner’ and the BYD badge looks more natural anyway.
Also, the badges can be reapplied. So there’s no reason to not do it.
@@steadfastdetailingsydney great, thanks! How do you reapply them? I've seen some with just BYD but not sure how to put the letters back on
@@DelphineSerenity You get 3M tape (from Bunnings or anywhere else that sells them), then cut them to size and stick it to the badge. Super easy. If you're in Sydney, we can help you out with that.
@@steadfastdetailingsydneycan you elaborate on the putting back part? Like how do you get it to line up, and how do you get it centered.
I got a 3 years lease, I hate the full name logo, but I'll lose money if I give it back without it.
Also, is the polishing mandatory?
@@MrMonteillard Lots of patience, a measuring tape and painters tape.
You'd have to do your best to center everything. Since there are so many individual letters for the badges, I'd be using another Atto 3 with the badges on it so I can create a template with painters tape and transfer that template over to the car without the badges.
I am getting a BYD in the next few weeks but don't trust myself to do this de-badging ... I might have to get you guys to remove my rear badge, as it will annoy me.
Feel free to reach out to us if you are in Sydney. More than happy to help.
It's a shame that such a great car has some weird logos that we have to get rid of risking damage to new paintings on the car, haha
That’s why you get a professional to do it if you aren’t game enough. Thanks for watching!
I really like my BYD but mine came without the “atto 3” sign. How can I add it?
You’ll have to buy it from BYD I guess. In Australia, they all come with the Atto3 badge.
@@steadfastdetailingsydney : In Israel we were were watching all the information and reviews from Australia since you got them first. Last November the first shipment arrived and some of them had no atto3 sign.
Wondering if that affects the warranty after removed the letters??
Great question, it would not affect any warranty.
These are just badges stuck on with 3M adhesive. If you’re in Australia, the ACCC would have be on your side if warranty was denied for any reason unrelated to the badges.
Can you help me put it back after PPF
Yeah that’s no problem. Reach out to us via DM.
We have had the car ceramic coated already, can we still do this?
You’ll strip the ceramic coating when you get up to the machine polishing stage.
But you can just ceramic coat again once you’ve removed all the emblems.

floss + eucalyptus oil
Nice. I’ll have to try eucalyptus oil next!
Destroy Your Dreams
Agreed. Definitely the case if you don’t debadge it.
It's such a silly badge, why did they put it on there? Do they have some sort of humiliation fetish?
Haha. Apparently they don’t think so.
So much better without it. Just BYD would have been originally sufficient.
Agreed!
The car looks much better with the logos. Removing them looks so ugly
Thanks for watching. Appreciate it!
I would rearrange the letters or put something else original there 🤣
In our other BYD video, that’s exactly what we did. We debadged and replaced it with a much more sophisticated look.
th-cam.com/video/agCtg54mFB8/w-d-xo.html
@@steadfastdetailingsydney really? Haha okay…I’m sorry I didn’t aware bout that 😂 thanks! 🤣
You could use those letters to create 'Disorderly' 😄
@@UTube-gs1yf haha might have to try it!
What point for remove it…lolzz
It definitely looks much cleaner when removed!
Are people that insecure? 😂😂😂
To each their own.
Get a Tesla then u will be proud of the badge
Maybe.
Now stick the letters back on to read ‘ABDUL RIMED YOURS’. Ok, it’s pretty crass and missing an ‘m’, but it’s better than ‘Build Your Dreams’ any day of the week.
Cheers thanks for watching!
