My configuration is the White on White model 3 standard range plus. I received my order a few days before the 2022 model 3 was announced. But that's irrelavent since everything is the same and I have the LFP model as well like the newer 2022 models. Note this is a going-forward transition from the NCA battery. The LFP has the ability to charge to 100% frequently and without worry of degradation which made more sense to me since NCA was advised to charge to 80-90%. In fact, LFP can be charged to 100% daily, which means the daily usable range in this pack, although rated lower, can actually travel farther.

I recently bought a 2023 Model 3 RWD as a daily driver for my wife. We both enjoy driving it and I think the minimalist interior will still look good in ten years. That said, I still prefer my Ford Focus ST with the manual transmission.

A really good review, thank you. I know little about EV's but am trying to learn before i consider buying, i too agree with you that they are not a Lux car, they are priced as one but do not look like one, the lighting you mentioned is a very good point, it would be cheap enough to do for Tesla but it would really ensure the interior looked special.

Thanks for this video man. It was immensely informative. I'm actually contemplating between the Model Y LR and the Model 3 RWD. Presently, I'll be honest, I truly prefer the Model Y over the Model 3 RWD because of its power and SUV like size. Also, I'm a 6'1 dude and my current car is already a SUV. However, there are a couple of things that still have me on the fence.Sigh!
    1. I work from home so my car will be mainly used for road trips.
    2. I live in a condo and thus I don't have access to home charging.
    3. I live in Canada, and It's a 15K difference between the RWD vs the Model Y LR
    4. In Canada, only the RWD qualifies for a $5000K cash incentive from the Canadian federal government lol so that's a 20k difference between the 2
    5. Winters in brutal in Canada, so I don't know how the RWD would handle the Winter, event with Winter tires.

Hi. Great insightful video. I am considering leasing a 2023 Tesla Model 3 base model. I plan to trade in my Mini. Was wondering if you traded in your BMW, if so did Tesla give you a good deal after they physically inspected the car. I have already saved an appraisal thru Teslas website. Also if you did happen to trade in your BMW how was the whole trade process with Tesla. I test drove a model 3 and completely fell in love with the way the car drives. The biggest thing for me to switch to an all electric is not having to pay for gas and maintenance on a ICE vehicle. Thanks for any input you can provide me with. Thanks.

I didn't realize BMW's had such expensive oil changes. I paid $30 for a 5qt jug of Mobil 1, and $12 for a filter to change the oil in my Jeep Wrangler 4xe. I'm renting a Model Y from Hertz on a upcoming trip, hopefully the driving experience is good enough to convince my wife that we can trade in her old gas car for a Model Y.

ooo-lala, love all of the IT data statistical analysis of driving costs. Unfortunately, no purchase pricing factored into data. especially important for low to middle income buyers. How do the numbers crunch when comparing new $21K Toyota Corolla at 35 mpg vs 40K Tessla Model 3 and at commercial charging rates (a lot of apartments in L.A. not provide level 2 or higher chargers (you CAN have one installed, but YOU pay for it, not the owner of bldg). And in Cali, you can expect utility rates to skyrocket 3 to 4 times thanks to the rush to stuff sunshine into a box full of precious metals. For those folks with enough disposable income to enjoy the shiny, fancy, sometimes glitchy, new fangled marriage of machines and computers, there are many really cool EV choices with more to follow (3 year leasing is a great way to keep current on the newest tech toys, by the way). Buying decisions regarding upfront and lifespan costs should best be made utilizing ALL relevant (to you) data, and a healthy dose of speculation and conjecture in regards to future pricing trends.....
