Infiniti has bested Lexus in the past, in my opinion. The original G35 was a much sportier car than the IS. The Q45, again, in my opinion was a much sportier and fun to drive car than the LS. They introduced the first hydraulic active suspension in the original Q45. Something the Lexus or the Germans didn’t have yet. The third generation M is probably my favorite Infiniti model. Toyota is still doing very well with its less premium options. But they are lagging in the luxury segment. Lexus is still good, don't get me wrong, but this Infinity is better. Europeans present more exciting options with better driving dynamics, Americans are coming back with some very interesting luxury options in 2024/2025. Lexus way is becoming a bit stale lately.
toyota has nothing to sell other than reliability recently, but that too has gone to the gutters with the new hybrid metal chips factory engines in the tacoma and tundra and potentially some Lexus
Infiniti destroys Lexus on overall design and functionality in this case. Plus if the new Nissan/Infiniti 3.5L TT V6 has better reliability than the Toyota/Lexus 3.5L TT V6, then it's game over for the Lexus.
In all honest the large Luxury suv segment is so competitive now. Its crazy. Escalade, Navigator, Grand Wagoneer, LX600, QX80, X8, GLS, Q9 and GV80. All these trucks has engine option between 400-600+hp

Lexus better do something if this the direction of Infiniti in the future. Yeah they have brand loyalty but not with younger buyers who may buy the Genesis or Infiniti over them if their stagnant designs continue.
Good video. But I think what's missing..is the fact the LX is being compared to family haulers. Lexus offers the TX for space. The LX is in its own class like the Range Rover. So using a scoring model offering points for length makes no sense. Take them off road and the Infiniti will get smoked it's too large.
Hey guys. Great video. The Infinity's legroom and headroom figures are wrong for the second row. 39.2 inches of legroom and 37.8 inches of headroom means the LX doesn't get the half point due to the headroom difference being less than 5%.
I would have liked V8’s on both, such a shame. On the flipside they’re both assembled in Japan, so not by the shody workmanship in the U.S. So likely no engine issues like the American assembled twinturbo v6 on the Tundra.
The Lexus is literally an LC300 underneath (and then the Lexus touch applied overtop), the most legendary platform to ever come out of the Toyota Yoshiwara plant. If you're comparing form over function, sure the Infiniti wins, but compare the off road capability too, the build quality, etc. Almost every aspect of the LX is overbuilt, covered and protected with reliability in mind. Just because it's made "pretty" doesn't mean it will last or worth the entry price. And yes, I purchased a '25 LX600 F Sport, matte PPF, 20" vossens with Falken Wildpeak AT4's and yes, I have taken it offroad and overlanding. It's awesome.
I've already said it 2 years ago that Lexus interior has always been dated, actually all Japanese cars. It looks like Infiniti is the first one to adopt the modern trend design.
I picked up black Autograph QX80 yesterday! I was weirded out when i decided that I didn’t like the Lexus…. Normally, I would pick it over the Infiniti. But my QX80 won my heart

To everyone who was surprised about the scores...I have two questions: 1. When has the LX ever been the size of a QX80, Navigator or Escalade? 2. When has the LX ever even been luxurious? What made Lexus successful (in the beginning, 90s-2000s) was that they benchmarked other luxury vehicles (especially European luxury vehicles) and added Toyota reliability The original LS benchmarked the S-Class The original SC benchmarked a bunch of luxury coupes like the Jaguar XJS, Lincoln Mark VII and BMW 8-Series What exactly did the LX600 benchmark? The G Wagon? No The GLS? No The Escalade? No The Range Rover? No Its literally just a Toyota with no benchmarking of the luxury segment
@@joecool9739 to be fair, they were luxurious. def not full size tho. the 112" wheelbase has been the standard for them since its inception.. it worked in the 90s, but now when the competition has grown so large, it's become a midsize at this point
I own an LX and have always been team Lexus. The LX600 is ruined with its “sport” interior, removal of split tailgate, and increase of price by 30k usd. I always hated the Infiniti design but this time I’m switching. Love the design, great new features, and it’s actually cheaper than Lexus.
Infiniti has to go all in as thay are trying to save their brand. Nissan is failing at this point!! The truck is beautiful no doubt, and as a die hard lexus fan, smacked this LX to the floor!!!!!
I drove both of these and an Escalade ESV this past weekend. The QX80 is the newest and looks great, but at $110k+, the Escalade ESV beats both the QX80 and LX600. The Escalade ESV is about 14" longer than the QX80 and the 3rd row is adult friendly and a lot of space behind the 3rd row. The giant OLED dashboard display is a level above QX80 and LX600. And the 6.2L V8 Escalade engine has a broader acceleration band then the V6 Twin Turbos do. The Lexus is really looking old and not up to the Lexus name. It looks and feels like 2 generations old.
The lexus will last longer will keep the price longer even though I admit that the infinity looks better and more modern, after owning a nissan rogue, I wouldn't touch a nissan product.
If I'm adding to my vehicles, I'd grab the QX since I already have my off road focused vehicle in the Defender. If I'm swapping that out, probably the LX.
did you know the Infiniti QX80 sells more units world wide? it is also rated as one of the best SUV's of all time - engineering, quality, dependability etc. I dig your comparison vids. thanks guys
Although the infinity made a huge score vs Lexus, am still choosing Lexus over infinity , the points Lexus scored is the most important options for a car buyer, all the scored points by infinity are on options that’s more like gadgets which will case a lot of usage problems, and a lots of maintenance which will make you hate the day you bought this car, infinity should be compared to Escalade not lx600, and saying Lexus comes second in off-roading after land rover , put both of them in the desert dunes and you’ll see the deference, good video though thanks 🙏
I wonder what your favorite Toyota hater you know you love to mock is going to say. Your pro Toyota comments to prove me wrong have already backfired before I even see them 😂
Normally anything versus the Lexus I choose the Lexus. But we live in a world where Lexus has recalled this model and the tundra and they're replacing all of the engines. I'm kind of confident that in a few years they would have sorted out what's wrong with these engines but it's not right now. In 2024 I would never buy one of these brand new Lexus.
Very good review. This was a slaughter for Lexus. Someone touched on it in the comment, but Lexus keeping this based on the Land Cruiser, is hobbling it on the road. It's too short overall and in wheelbase, which gives it better off road chops, but it's making it too much of a compromise on road which is where most of them will spend their time. The interior is lacking to say the least. Lexus SUVs are just not noteworthy anymore, as the GX just got a beat by the Defender in a C&D comparison. Reliability? You mean the 100K V6s Toyota is having to replace? Infiniti killed it here and I suspect that when the press reviews and compares these two they will find the same. Well done video.

Lexus isn’t what it used to be. They’re extremely slow and boring cars. Yes, I know they are reliable, but…..
@@Blackandwhitecat-u9v I wouldnt rush to call this car reliable when all of its siblings like the Tacoma, Sequoia and Tundra have been having crazy reliability issues...and the LX is mechanically related to all of them due to the new platforms and engines used
@@joecool9739I know lol. I put that in there so I didn’t hurt the Lexus fanboys feelings. At least Acura is quick and fun to drive.
@@Blackandwhitecat-u9v so you’re now finally agreeing with the infamous Toyota hater on the internet?😆
@@naveenthemachineI was always more of a Honda/Acura guy. Toyota = BORING
I like the back of the Lexus, the front of the Infiniti and the Infiniti’s interior. Hate the back on the Infiniti
I prefer the qx80. It has all I need.
Nissans large suvs and trucks have also always been reliable unlike their small cars…. So to say the Lexus is more reliable isn’t necessarily true
Facts
The QX80/Armada/Patrol is the best full-size suv on the market, and it's been that way for a while
They would’ve been better off comparing the Qx80 to a Sequoia Capstone, because the LX’s “full size” classification is laughable! 😅
Aren't they the same size? The Sequoia is still compromised by that stupid sliding. Third row seat is either you tried to move it back. That's almost slammed on the floor to get some third row leg room, or you move it all the way forward a little bit of cargo on. You can't get both LOL.
есть случаи что на LX600, LC300 при пробеге 30000-40000км застучали двигателя. Как у Вас в Америке?
Вроде в Америке как раз первыми и стучали, стружка в двигателе была проблемой если верно помню
@@karacha too stale. They’ll be gone out of business soon
toyota has nothing to sell other than reliability recently, but that too has gone to the gutters with the new hybrid metal chips factory engines in the tacoma and tundra and potentially some Lexus
Infiniti making a big comeback!!
Infiniti destroys Lexus on overall design and functionality in this case. Plus if the new Nissan/Infiniti 3.5L TT V6 has better reliability than the Toyota/Lexus 3.5L TT V6, then it's game over for the Lexus.
Well it was game over to begin with. So far no issues the v6 in the Nissan so I’d say Lexus is history. They have to cease
Thank you for this review. I am off to the Infinity dealership.
In all honest the large Luxury suv segment is so competitive now. Its crazy. Escalade, Navigator, Grand Wagoneer, LX600, QX80, X8, GLS, Q9 and GV80. All these trucks has engine option between 400-600+hp
it is competitive but Escalade, navigator, Grand Wagoneer is one catergory LX600, QX80 is another X8, GLS, Q9, R1S, EQS, Model X, Lucid Gravity is the real competition
QX80 looks better and is bigger with more interior space, but LX is mechanically more sophisticated and more off-road capable.
QX80*
I'm not so sure! The QX80 is base off the Nissan Patrol, which is the Land Rover of the Middle East. Check out the Patrol, if you're familiar with it!
@@mauriciomendez1912 it’s a reliable truck like the Toyota Sequoia, but it is not a professional grade off-roader the LX is.
There is quite a difference between a Japanese full-size Land-cruiser and a Sequoia in terms of sophistications.

I can't think of a single reason to take the LX other than off-road performance.
Other than that QX80 wins in every imaginable category
Hey guys. Great video. The Infinity's legroom and headroom figures are wrong for the second row. 39.2 inches of legroom and 37.8 inches of headroom means the LX doesn't get the half point due to the headroom difference being less than 5%.

I'll take qx80 and replace that V6TT with the more reliable V8
I would have liked V8’s on both, such a shame. On the flipside they’re both assembled in Japan, so not by the shody workmanship in the U.S. So likely no engine issues like the American assembled twinturbo v6 on the Tundra.
Seriously made me consider and respect the infinity, however I still think that most people will buy the Lexus for more reliability
Infinity QX80 good design good size better than LX600 but LX570 very good design very size
QX80 all the way !
Regarding resale, the majority of buyers at that level typically lease these vehicles and swap every 2-3 years.
just because of this review i subscribed! can you do a 7 seater suvs comparison in hybrid vs non hybrid for families.

Great video. I would recommend testing audio systems with a FLAC file on USB. Testing through Bluetooth or Carplay could introduce potential audio degradation.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I would probably get the QX80 if I were leasing or only driving for 5 to 6 years.
They should’ve compare the LX Ultra Luxury. It’s so nice.

To everyone who was surprised about the scores...I have two questions:
1. When has the LX ever been the size of a QX80, Navigator or Escalade?
2. When has the LX ever even been luxurious?
What made Lexus successful (in the beginning, 90s-2000s) was that they benchmarked other luxury vehicles (especially European luxury vehicles) and added Toyota reliability
The original LS benchmarked the S-Class
The original SC benchmarked a bunch of luxury coupes like the Jaguar XJS, Lincoln Mark VII and BMW 8-Series
What exactly did the LX600 benchmark?
The G Wagon? No
The GLS? No
The Escalade? No
The Range Rover? No
Its literally just a Toyota with no benchmarking of the luxury segment
@joecool9739 to be fair, they did come out with the first full-size luxury SUV before Lincoln did with the Navigator
@@normanli7085
I dont think you know what "full size" or "luxury" mean
@@joecool9739 to be fair, they were luxurious. def not full size tho. the 112" wheelbase has been the standard for them since its inception.. it worked in the 90s, but now when the competition has grown so large, it's become a midsize at this point
@@JokerG16
What was luxurious about them?
They have always been Toyota rebadges with no differentiation aside from leather seats, always.

As a Nissan/Toyota fan boy who currently drive a Lexus, this one goes to Infiniti. Kudos to them for stepping up
I own an LX and have always been team Lexus.
Toyota needs their family CEO Mr. Toyoda back, the new CEO from marketing dept has been a disaster.
One major problem! The escalade would be in the shop more than on the road. And that is a 100% fact
Damn that was an ass whooping. Infiniti wiped the whole floor with the Lame-xus. Anyone who picks the lame-xus over the qx80 is drunk
The lexus will last longer will keep the price longer even though I admit that the infinity looks better and more modern, after owning a nissan rogue, I wouldn't touch a nissan product.
I agree with everything said in this video but if it comes down to buying a Nissan vs a Toyota I'm still gonna choose the LX
Lexus needs to go back to the drawing board.Their reliability is no longer what it used to be
If I'm adding to my vehicles, I'd grab the QX since I already have my off road focused vehicle in the Defender. If I'm swapping that out, probably the LX.
did you know the Infiniti QX80 sells more units world wide? it is also rated as one of the best SUV's of all time - engineering, quality, dependability etc. I dig your comparison vids. thanks guys
References, please?
Although the infinity made a huge score vs Lexus, am still choosing Lexus over infinity , the points Lexus scored is the most important options for a car buyer, all the scored points by infinity are on options that’s more like gadgets which will case a lot of usage problems, and a lots of maintenance which will make you hate the day you bought this car, infinity should be compared to Escalade not lx600, and saying Lexus comes second in off-roading after land rover , put both of them in the desert dunes and you’ll see the deference, good video though thanks 🙏
in Viet Nam, Lexus is the King
Thanks for this wonderful video 🔥😍
I wonder what your favorite Toyota hater you know you love to mock is going to say. Your pro Toyota comments to prove me wrong have already backfired before I even see them 😂
Qx80 looks amazing!!! But it will have more problems down the road. I've owned both brands and Toyota/Lexus has never cost me a penny.
Analog gauges in the price... cmon Lexus
You deserved Like 👍
Normally anything versus the Lexus I choose the Lexus. But we live in a world where Lexus has recalled this model and the tundra and they're replacing all of the engines. I'm kind of confident that in a few years they would have sorted out what's wrong with these engines but it's not right now. In 2024 I would never buy one of these brand new Lexus.
Infiniti did a great job, but i would still choose the Lexus, simply because Im not sure i should trust the QX by selecting gears on a touchscreen😅
Если у меня Мерседес я никогда не куплю БМВ. Думаю что и человек покупавший Лексус не пересядет на Инфинити.
Both LX and LS are disappointing vehicles for flagship Lexus. A dying Infiniti can make a better flagship.
Infiniti is back but Lexus has officially died.
Thank you!
