DECEIVER!! The Bible did say that in the last days people will have itching ears and prefer to listen to fables than the Word of God. (2 Tim 4:3-4) This is what EGW has presented to Christianity - fables - and those who love to hear it believe - and follow her church! She was so skillful and cunning that she embedded that verse and others into her writings so as to make it credible. If someone doesn't understand the Gospel, one would think that Christians are wrong and Adventism is right - which is the way it is today. Adventism cannot be Christianity no matter how much God and Jesus are mentioned; no matter how much they seem to preach from the Bible, the meanings are not the same. If they have the WRONG Gospel, they cannot have the RIGHT Jesus. The Christian's Jesus' Atonement was FINISHED at the Cross and upon His Ascension, He went straight to Heaven where He sat down at the right hand of God. I know and believe that because it is what the Bible says. On the other hand, the Adventists Jesus' Atonement wasn't completed at the Cross and who knows what happened at His Ascension for he must have been hovering somewhere cause He entered some sanctuary, in 1844 - over 1,800 years later - where He is making Atonement for Adventists. The Bible says nothing about that but EGW. I believe the Bible - not the greatest DECEIVER in Christianity. Adventists claim that we - non-SDA'S are the anti-Christ due to worshipping on Sundays but I think that EGW was ANTI-Christ for she got her people to believe in HER words instead of Christ's. 1. Christ NEVER said to keep the Sabbath - EGW did! 2. Christ NEVER said that the Sabbath is the seal of God - EGW did! 3. Christ NEVER said to Tithe - EGW did! 4. Christ NEVER said that any group of believers in Him is better than the rest - EGW did! Christ NEVER said any of those things in His Gospel, EGW did! All the above are AGAINST the Word of Christ and anything against the Word of Christ is AGAINST the Word of God. EGW may not appear to be AGAINST Christ but she certainly is AGAINST His Word for she is substituting HER words for His; putting HER meanings to His Word, thereby POLLUTING His Gospel to the unsuspecting Christian who then BELIEVES HER words instead of His - in so much that when they are faced with His words and their TRUE meanings, they don't believe it!
This is painful. Every statement that Steve brings up, the pastor answers with a convoluted statement that is simply a mess of word salad. Come SDAs! He uses confirmation of his stance by using the contradictory words of EGW. So frustrating. She changed her stance whenever she got caught. Own it SDAs! Gold medal to the pastor in this Olympic season for all his Adventist gymnastics.
James White knew the true source of his wife's inspiration, (obviously not God!): James White: “But while on the stage of action I shall use the good old head God gave me until He reveals that I am wrong. Your head won’t fit my shoulders. Keep it where it belongs, and I will try to honor God in using my own. I shall be glad to hear from you, but don’t waste your precious time and strength lecturing me on matters of mere opinions. There is considerable and more of the same kind” (Daughters of God, p. 269; Letter 66, May 16, 1876). “…and has felt free to tell me his ideas of my being led by a wrong spirit…” (DG, p. 267, 1876). He says her testimonies/counsels are mere opinions, and there are more of such! And being led by a wrong spirit. This wrong spirit was from the Devil of course. He was mentally sound when he said these things.

If anything this discussion proves that Ellen White spoke out of both sides of her mouth and neither side was instructed by God. Both gentlemen found statements supporting their own understanding and are both equally justified with said statements. Problem is, God doesn’t speak out of both sides of His neck. What He says is what it is. As stated, if anything this entire discussion proves Ellen untrustworthy and someone who was not hearing from the Lord but spoke as she felt moved in her spirit by whatever was going on around her.
Most of the folks I know certainly base their opinions of EGW on emotional experience from what they read, or what they have been told. Lately I have been asking my friends and family, that are still in the 7 cult, how do you determine if EGW wasn't a false prophet? And a lot of them don't have an answer. Some of them simply say the Bible. But when I ask them what is their standard, where in the Bible? They don't have any idea.

I just don't care anymore, no, I'm tired. We all try to say the adventist church didn't hurt us because that's what the adventists assume when we leave, that we left because we are hurt. People are hurt, I am hurt, not by the people but the convoluted, contradicting, controlling, stupid beliefs perpetuated by the members. These statements and beliefs kept changing even though Ellen is meant to be the infalible interpreter, the prophet, Gods words were meant to come out of her mouth and yet it was somehow ok for her to change her beliefs as she went. How many people have been permanently damaged from this movement! This is a real rambling mess, I know, but isn't that what we learned as advenists, a rambling mess that our brains were constantly struggling to reconcile or we had to ignore and defer to people smarter than us.
Ellen White never changed her beliefs as she went, but she was given insight by God to correct her privately held ideas. For example, she didn't think the 7th day Sabbath was important until God showed her in vision how important it was.

Powerful verses, describing God's wonderful gift in sending His Son. That word "so" means SO much. Recognizing that the Son volunteered Himself (Gal. 2:20, etc.) and that the Father, knowing what His Son was going to suffer, still allowed Him to come to earth out of His great love for humankind, was what finally allowed my Methodist-raised dad to understand how a father could allow a son to make so great a sacrifice. I am so glad that my sister was able to explain it to him as she did after my dad's many years of estrangement from God because of his relationship with his father. Thankfully, I can say, that even gasping for his every breath, the night before he died, my dad joined me and my mother in singing, "Jesus loves me this I know ... for the Bible tells me so."

For the SDA to continue to deny the Truth about the dynamic duo will in the end be counter productive for them. Kevin’s truth is grounded in all that which Ellen has written and claims as an infallible interpreter of Scripture. Apparently he also uses other Adventist writings as his backups. My truth is grounded in God’s WORD, it is in God’s Word I saw that Ellen contradicted the Words of God. It was in reading God’s Word in whole that I discovered the “The Great Controversy.” goes against what Scripture tells us. I chose God over Ellen.

I guess I’ve always known this but it connected a thread to the many discussion I’ve been having with SDA’s and things I’ve heard throughout my life. I hear all kinds of comments about the “light given to you.” I think it may prove to be a valuable tool to use this to press people like you did Kyle there. Asking, “am I therefore lost having been SDA and rejected wholly the SDA message?” It forces them to come out and say exactly what they think. No sugar coating. You could see Kevin’s discomfort when you asked him. Your content is so helpful and such a blessing. I appreciate that Myles acknowledged that there is no safety in rejecting light and that calling light darkness is rejecting light. However, at 1:41:18, I was about to go back to the statements that DEFINE the shut door, according to Ellen White's understanding. Myles had no way of knowing that, and I never was able to present all the evidence. I present the evidence that shows that the "shut door" did not mean the close of probation for all sinners in Ellen White Reconsidered no. 26.

Seventh-Day adventism was positive for me too, grew up in 7th Day Adventist Church, went to Adventist schools, had Adventist friends, happy as a kid, teenager, young adult.... I started seeing and realizing the obvious contradictions and scripture compared to what she was writing, activate the church with teaching.... I would see, blatant contradictions , and when I would ask about them and show those contradictions to my, Adventist friends, teachers, and pastors... well let's just say it became that I felt like I was in an episode of, The Stepford Wives. Complete denial on their part that a contradiction, was a contradiction. Then everything became not so happy as I was basically accused of kinds of things. In the end I was told I was in danger of the mark of the beast and hellfire because I did not tow the Adventist line. In the Bible where it says prove all things, and the test of a profit by Jeremiah.... for Adventists, at least when I was growing up and apparently now, that is not enough to overcome the doctrines of Ellen G. White.

I don't think false prophets are good people. I don't like being fooled and I don't like being lied to, especially by some false prophet that I should have known was a false prophet, when I first went to Jerusalem and had breakfast on BenYahuda Street, when in her Early Writings it says that the city of Jerusalem would never be rebuilt... That alone right there makes her a false prophet.

The statement is: "I also saw that Old Jerusalem never would be built up" (EW 75.2). The actual statement says something different from your paraphrase. Jerusalem already existed when she wrote this, and modern renovations of Jerusalem is not "Old Jerusalem ... built up."

I note that you have not cited a single passage of scripture that supports EGW's teaching that salvation depends on reaching perfection in this life. No surprise, since there is no such passage of scripture. BTW, SDAs are fond of citing Matthew 19:26 for the proposition that Jesus demands perfection. Big mistake. The Greek word in Matthew 5:48 translated "perfect" does not equate with the English word "perfect" as commonly understood. Instead, it means "complete" or "mature." Furthermore, Matthew 5:48 is aspirational and hortatory, not doctrinal. Furthermore, Luke records the same statement made by Jesus as follows: "Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful." (Luke 6:36) Jesus clearly did not expect his disciples, much less anyone else, to become perfect, or come within light years of being so. (See Matthew 7:11)
I pray that SDAs will study and do proper research about EGW objectively, setting cognitive dissonance aside and not just trust their pastors nor leaders who themselves have differences of opinions. Its absolutely arrogant to make a claim that you have to embrace SDA to be saved? Nowhere in the Holy Scriptures does this become the requirement for Salvation.
@@kevinmorgan_truth Hmmmmm. Honesty is what many need to pray for; that we be honest, because there's definitely a serious issue right there. A theology professor at USC once said to me that they are very much aware of the problems with Ellen White's writings, and that there are contradictions with scripture, but we ignore them, and very few would acknowledge these problems. I've spoken to so many key persons in the organization on this topic, and many will tell you things off the record. WE have a problem with honesty. Ellen White's writings are not infallible, though many would like to think they are. They are not equal to scripture. They are not a substitute or alternative to the bible. They, like all other extra biblical writings and literature must be subject to the bible; in other words, if they put fort anything that cannot be authenticated by the bible, they must be treated with meticulous caution. They are NOT necessary for salvation. The bible has EVERYTHING we need to know for accessing the one and only source of salvation, CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD. With that said, there's nothing wrong in making use of what is biblically accurate in the writings of Ellen White. My prayer for SDAs is that God's Spirit urges and help us to be HONEST about Ellen White's writings.
I was watching channels like this and was honestly praying to God asking Him if SDA was false, and to lead me into His truth and out of deception. Boy did He answer...and that is why I am a Seventh-day Adventist today. Study it out. Ask God for His truth. He is faithful.

The fact that there are former Adventists is a fulfillment of prophecy as Paul says many will depart from the faith. I pray you seek Christ in His unchanging word and forsake videos that are only founded in error and hatred of the truth as it is in scripture. The Bible should be our only standards.
If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it is a duck. I call false prophet. When someone wants to believe and defend their stance, that’s all their mindset can see. It’s like defending the ball in football. Other Christians see the goal and are progressing towards it, SDA defenders have their backs to the goal because they are so busy defending their position and therefore can’t see the true goal.
In my humble opinion, you are only lost if you reject the truth God has revealed to YOU through the Holy Spirit. This is what I have heard being taught by well-known pastors in our church as well. I believe the doctrines taught by the SDA church not because I was born into it, but because I have asked God to guide me as I studied His word for myself. And I believe every true seeker of truth will continually ask God to reveal what is true as they prayerfully study the scriptures, especially as we near the end of this world's history in order to avoid deception
Again, this is the profound evidence of where this infernal interpretation of the prophetess Helen came from. You do not need a reading comprehension course 101 to not understand a direct and absolute statement from this false prophet. Kevin Morgan still is looking for the fifth leg of the cat to deny a direct and clear statements. These failed declarations of the multiple dates of the second coming of the Lord is an insult to the word of God. Do not forget that this woman has stubbornly continued to establish dates. Still, there is a future pending date and even hour (at midnight) of the coming of Christ in the soon decree of death for Adventists who do not keep Sunday. It is the fanatic members incapable to think clearly like this pastor Kevin Morgan who continued supporting this movement since 1915. Remember that in 1915 the prophet died and all her predictions were not fulfilled, and the members were more deflated than the disappointment of October 22, 1844. The protests at the general conference meeting of 1915 were great, there was no consensus and the meeting was adjourned without agreement or vote. Do you think the devil was going to sit back and do nothing? the devil brought the modern or neo- Judaizers with the same hell force as it was in Paul times. I see the typical claims made by SDA's as this apologist is making to Dr. Steve. Both these men have very high educational abilities in research, reasoning skills etc. Dr. Steve seems to be from the camp of she means what she says as said. The apologist with his skillset is arguing that it means something else and it's back to you for not understanding. So, the point missed here by the SDA scholar is EGW did not have the skillset like these men in writing. Her skills were not even out of the elementary school level, therefore she would only possess a level of skill to literally mean what she wrote as written. Also, her first audience would have taken her as literal as written. This SDA seems to have all the usual excuses. Thank you Kyle's and Dr. Daley for all your hard work.

I think you and I agree on this generally. However, it wasn't the shut door that was the point of rejected light in the statement. I call your attention to Ellen White's own words: "This does not, however, relate to those who have not heard and have not rejected the doctrine of the Second Advent." Had Miles said that he and Steve had rejected the doctrine of the Second Advent, we would have had a proper parallel. I repeat what I said: Is it safe to reject light from God? And if someone sincerely believes that they are not rejecting light, but they are calling light darkness, what are they doing?

A gifted Prophetess cannot go wrong even once so this alone puts her in disrepute. She cannot be a prophet by any standards consequently. But the question of Eternal Salvation is whether or not she was baptized with the Holy Spirit to be gifted at all. I think you may be referring to the Latter-Day Saints with Joseph Smith--but that was long before 1851. James and Ellen White were still in the northeastern states in 1851. They moved from Oswego to Saratoga Springs, New York, so they could engage in publishing.

She did have visions in 1850, 1851 respectively with regard to the imminent return of Christ, the 'gathering time' of the remnant. She discouraged Adventists from going to Israel to convert them as it would be a waste of time, and they will not be converted, instead convert people in our own land for time is short. Later, (since Jesus did not come as expected) she changed her mind and gave advise to evangelise the Jews! 😂

An understanding of the Great Deception would reveal that Seventh-day Adventists did not even exist at that time. The Awakening movement was global with christians from many denominations reading Daniel 8:14 with the understanding that the "sanctuary" must represent the "earth" and that for the earth to be cleansed must mean that Jesus was cleansing the earth by fire at His second coming. This is likened to the misunderstanding of the apostles at Jesus' first appearing when they were positive that He was going to overcome the Romans and sit as temporal King. They were sorely disappointed when He was crucified instead. Of course their disappointment turned into joy when they fully understood that He had to suffer and die to save the world, and was resurrected, and would ascent into Heaven and return again one day to take them home. And so, the Great Disappointment of 1844 turned into joy when the Bible understanding came to view that Jesus was cleansing the sanctuary in Heaven as High Priest and as taught in Hebrews, Daniel, and Revelation.

SDAs make extravagant claims about E. White as being the messager of God. They regard her teaching as authoritative, almost to the point as being infallible. For men, like the reformers, its sola scripture. Bible commentaries and other christian writings,the apographa are useful for teaching but they are not infallible and therefore authoritative.

You’re literally proving what Steve said about ellen white being confused. The word of God, in Joel 2:28 tells us sons and daughters will prophesy. And God says He does nothing except He reveal it through His prophets (Amos 3:7). Scripture also tells us not to despise prophesyings (1 Thess 5:20). You must show from your study to show thyself approved (2 Tim 2:15) her supposed "backpedaling, side stepping, flip flopping and her hypocrisy" as bearing false witness is a serious charge against God's commandments.

I’m a few months new to all of this… I wanted to clearly hear both sides but pastor Morgan wouldn’t let Steve Daily finish his statements. Very confusing to me ! All I have ever wanted is truth I care not where it comes from. I have lived in abject fear most of my adult life to being lost. My time is short on this earth so every spare moment I listen, read & study ! God help us all 🙏🙏

I currently have a close family member who is nearing death. Been SDA 81YRS. They are currently going over their life trying to remember all their "unconfessed" sins, are doubting their position with Christ and if they are even saved. I am currently experiencing EGW teachings and the effects they have on people firsthand. This is really sad. This family member is severely depressed all over these false teachings. Any thoughts on how to deal with this?

He told me that he was not comparing Milton to Ellen White's account of the great controversy as first written in SPIRITUAL GIFTS, vol. 1, but to the biblical stories she included in THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY, vol. 1. His notes are in his copy of the book, so I have not seen them yet. (He's in Michigan, and I am not.) The same issue arises between Patriarchs and Prophets and Edersheim's Old Testament History. But would it not stand to reason that books and compositions on the history of the Patriarchs and Israel would cover the same biblical history if faithful to the Bible?

One needs to read all of EGW's writings to understand what she means. But because she wrote so many books, it's not surprising that there's so much room for misinterpretation and materials that can be used for deception.
Recently I started listening to Answering Adventism, also looking into Desmond Ford & others which a year ago I would have never ventured beyond the SofP. I will confess what brought me to this decision & that is a quote in the GC… that if we had one sin that we haven’t confessed we will be lost. ! For some reason after all these years that statement had not matured in my brain until recently . If true, no one can be sure of salvation. What a miserable mess. This video today did not clear up anything from both sides

There are different reasons for considering statements to be contradictory--when they aren't. Sometimes this is because we don't understand a larger concept. To cite a biblical example, some people think that James contradicts Paul on faith and works, so they ignore one or the other. A better course is to consider that BOTH are right and that they both support a larger concept than those who ignore one or the other. To summarize the larger concept, we can say that we are indeed saved by faith, but faith that is living faith works.

In evangelism p 598 (ev 598. 1 She says Satan, who is the father of lies, deceived Adam in a similar way, telling him that he need not obey God, that he would not die if he transgressed the law But in 1 Timothy 2:14, which states that Adam was not deceived, but Eve was. This is a clear contradiction.
Mr Morgan, i need some SDA advice. I have an elderly close family member that is facing the end of his life. Problem is that he is now reviewing his past sins, worried about if he forgot even 1, is concerned about his future sins that he has not committed yet and is questioning if he even has salvation and what his position with Christ is. This is because he has been taught this for 80+ yrs from EGW's teachings on how to never consider you are saved. No assured salvation only the hope of maybe. This has thrown by him into severe depression. Has he read EGW wrong and she really meant something else? Did he misunderstand his pastors through the years? Did he not carefully and prayerfully read her writings correctly and then forensicly analyze what was written? Um, this is where the rubber meets the road. What do I say to him to bring comfort to him? Anything? This seems to be the dark side of SDA beliefs Please advise. Thank you.

Pastor Morgon has been trained well in how to debate and also trained well in being able to throw back his SDA belief system within a second. He is also condescending. Steve Daily is not trained in debating but in research and writing. My opinion of course
I take that as a compliment since I haven't been trained in debate in either my undergraduate or graduate studies. I've been a pastor for my professional career. Though I did enjoy research in college, I didn't start researching and publishing until mid-way in my career. My research on Ellen White began in 2005, when I co-authored a book with Fred Veltman's research secretary on the Life of Christ Research Project. I've published three books about her writing process and one on her Civil War and race writings. It was shortly after 2005 that I also began editing books for other authors. The process of careful researching is what has honed my knowledge of the subject.

The "few months" is a term that Ellen White would continue to use AFTER 1851, so my question is how that they should specifically be applied to the seven-year theory (which ended in October 1851) when she repudiated that theory by the two visions in 1850 and 1851 that specifically condemned setting dates and when James White also repudiated the theory, even though he didn't want to offend Joseph Bates, a dear friend.

She was so skillful and cunning that she embedded that verse and others into her writings so as to make it credible. If someone doesn't understand the Gospel, one would think that Christians are wrong and Adventism is right - which is the way it is today. Adventism cannot be Christianity no matter how much God and Jesus are mentioned; no matter how much they seem to preach from the Bible, the meanings are not the same. If they have the WRONG Gospel, they cannot have the RIGHT Jesus.
The Christian's Jesus' Atonement was FINISHED at the Cross and upon His Ascension, He went straight to Heaven where He sat down at the right hand of God. I know and believe that because it is what the Bible says. On the other hand, the Adventists Jesus' Atonement wasn't completed at the Cross and who knows what happened at His Ascension for he must have been hovering somewhere cause He entered some sanctuary, in 1844 - over 1,800 years later - where He is making Atonement for Adventists. The Bible says nothing about that but EGW. I believe the Bible - not the greatest DECEIVER in Christianity.
Adventists claim that we - non-SDA'S are the anti-Christ due to worshipping on Sundays but I think that EGW was ANTI-Christ for she got her people to believe in HER words instead of Christ's. 1. Christ NEVER said to keep the Sabbath - EGW did! 2. Christ NEVER said that the Sabbath is the seal of God - EGW did! 3. Christ NEVER said to Tithe - EGW did! 4. Christ NEVER said that any group of believers in Him is better than the rest - EGW did! Christ NEVER said any of those things in His Gospel, EGW did!

You've been listening to Myles too long. Ask yourselves a simple question. Better yet observe : that the last place to hear/learn about Seventh-day Adventism is an ex-SDA,because they're personal view is skewed. It CANNOT be unbiased. They ALREADY are set in persuading you that Adventisim is wrong.
If anything this discussion proves that Ellen White spoke out of both sides of her mouth and neither side was instructed by God. Most of the folks I know certainly base their opinions of EGW on emotional experience from what they read, or what they have been told. Lately I have been asking my friends and family, that are still in the 7 cult, how do you determine if EGW wasn't a false prophet? And a lot of them don't have an answer. Some of them simply say the Bible. But when I ask them what is their standard, where in the Bible? They don't have any idea.

These statements and beliefs kept changing even though Ellen is meant to be the infalible interpreter, the prophet, Gods words were meant to come out of her mouth and yet it was somehow ok for her to change her beliefs as she went. How many people have been permanently damaged from this movement! This is a real rambling mess, I know, but isn't that what we learned as advenists, a rambling mess that our brains were constantly struggling to reconcile or we had to ignore and defer to people smarter than us.

Powerful verses, describing God's wonderful gift in sending His Son. That word "so" means SO much. Recognizing that the Son volunteered Himself (Gal. 2:20, etc.) and that the Father, knowing what His Son was going to suffer, still allowed Him to come to earth out of His great love for humankind, was what finally allowed my Methodist-raised dad to understand how a father could allow a son to make so great a sacrifice. I am so glad that my sister was able to explain it to him as she did after my dad's many years of estrangement from God because of his relationship with his father. Thankfully, I can say, that even gasping for his every breath, the night before he died, my dad joined me and my mother in singing, "Jesus loves me this I know ... for the Bible tells me so."

My truth is grounded in God’s WORD, it is in God’s Word I saw that Ellen contradicted the Words of God. It was in reading God’s Word in whole that I discovered the “The Great Controversy.” goes against what Scripture tells us. I chose God over Ellen.

I appreciate that Myles acknowledged that there is no safety in rejecting light and that calling light darkness is rejecting light. However, at 1:41:18, I was about to go back to the statements that DEFINE the shut door, according to Ellen White's understanding. Myles had no way of knowing that, and I never was able to present all the evidence. I present the evidence that shows that the "shut door" did not mean the close of probation for all sinners in Ellen White Reconsidered no. 26.

Pastor Kevin Morgan truly, asked 2 VERY sobering questions , in fact i was driven to look at myself because those questions are absolute truth, and cut like a hot knife through butter.
Seventh-Day adventism was positive for me too, grew up in 7th Day Adventist Church, went to Adventist schools, had Adventist friends, happy as a kid, teenager, young adult.... I started seeing and realizing the obvious contradictions and scripture compared to what she was writing, activate the church with teaching....
I would see, blatant contradictions , and when I would ask about them and show those contradictions to my, Adventist friends, teachers, and pastors... well let's just say it became that I felt like I was in an episode of, The Stepford Wives.
Complete denial on their part that a contradiction, was a contradiction. Then everything became not so happy as I was basically accused of kinds of things. In the end I was told I was in danger of the mark of the beast and hellfire because I did not tow the Adventist line.
In the Bible where it says prove all things, and the test of a profit by Jeremiah.... for Adventists, at least when I was growing up and apparently now, that is not enough to overcome the doctrines of Ellen G. White.

I note that you have not cited a single passage of scripture that supports EGW's teaching that salvation depends on reaching perfection in this life. No surprise, since there is no such passage of scripture.
BTW, SDAs are fond of citing Matthew 19:26 for the proposition that Jesus demands perfection. Big mistake. The Greek word in Matthew 5:48 translated "perfect" does not equate with the English word "perfect" as commonly understood. Instead, it means "complete" or "mature." Furthermore, Matthew 5:48 is aspirational and hortatory, not doctrinal. Furthermore, Luke records the same statement made by Jesus as follows: "Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful." (Luke 6:36) Jesus clearly did not expect his disciples, much less anyone else, to become perfect, or come within light years of being so. (See Matthew 7:11)
Does plagiarism and lying come under moral perfection?
I pray that SDAs will study and do proper research about EGW objectively, setting cognitive dissonance aside and not just trust their pastors nor leaders who themselves have differences of opinions. Its absolutely arrogant to make a claim that you have to embrace SDA to be saved? Nowhere in the Holy Scriptures does this become the requirement for Salvation.

A theology professor at USC once said to me that they are very much aware of the problems with Ellen White's writings, and that there are contradictions with scripture, but we ignore them, and very few would acknowledge these problems. I've spoken to so many key persons in the organization on this topic, and many will tell you things off the record. WE have a problem with honesty. Ellen White's writings are not infallible, though many would like to think they are. They are not equal to scripture. They are not a substitute or alternative to the bible. They, like all other extra biblical writings and literature must be subject to the bible; in other words, if they put fort anything that cannot be authenticated by the bible, they must be treated with meticulous caution. They are NOT necessary for salvation. The bible has EVERYTHING we need to know for accessing the one and only source of salvation, CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD. With that said, there's nothing wrong in making use of what is biblically accurate in the writings of Ellen White. My prayer for SDAs is that God's Spirit urges and help us to be HONEST about Ellen White's writings.
I was watching channels like this and was honestly praying to God asking Him if SDA was false, and to lead me into His truth and out of deception. Boy did He answer...and that is why I am a Seventh-day Adventist today. Study it out. Ask God for His truth. He is faithful.

Remember that in 1915 the prophet died and all her predictions were not fulfilled, and the members were more deflated than the disappointment of October 22, 1844. The protests at the general conference meeting of 1915 were great, there was no consensus and the meeting was adjourned without agreement or vote. Do you think the devil was going to sit back and do nothing? the devil brought the modern or neo- Judaizers with the same hell force as it was in Paul times. The ideas are the same package wrapped in different colored wrapping paper and the SDA cult is one of them.

Both these men have very high educational abilities in research, reasoning skills etc. Dr. Steve seems to be from the camp of she means what she says as said. The apologist with his skillset is arguing that it means something else and it's back to you for not understanding. So, the point missed here by the SDA scholar is EGW did not have the skillset like these men in writing. Her skills were not even out of the elementary school level, therefore she would only possess a level of skill to literally mean what she wrote as written. Also, her first audience would have taken her as literal as written. This SDA seems to have all the usual excuses. Thank you Kyle's and Dr. Daley for all your hard work.

I think you and I agree on this generally. However, it wasn't the shut door that was the point of rejected light in the statement. I call your attention to Ellen White's own words: "This does not, however, relate to those who have not heard and have not rejected the doctrine of the Second Advent." Had Miles said that he and Steve had rejected the doctrine of the Second Advent, we would have had a proper parallel. I repeat what I said: Is it safe to reject light from God? And if someone sincerely believes that they are not rejecting light, but they are calling light darkness, what are they doing?

A gifted Prophetess cannot go wrong even once so this alone puts her in disrepute. She cannot be a prophet by any standards consequently. But the question of Eternal Salvation is whether or not she was baptized with the Holy Spirit to be gifted at all. I think you may be referring to the Latter-Day Saints with Joseph Smith--but that was long before 1851. James and Ellen White were still in the northeastern states in 1851. They moved from Oswego to Saratoga Springs, New York, so they could engage in publishing.

She discouraged Adventists from going to Israel to convert them as it would be a waste of time, and they will not be converted, instead convert people in our own land for time is short. Later, (since Jesus did not come as expected) she changed her mind and gave advise to evangelise the Jews! 😂

Two individuals set out to accomplish the goal only to fail - Clorinda Fosdick Minor, née Strong, who died in Israel, pursuing her belief in the "Age to Come" and Andrew Nugget Dugger, who ineffectually moved the headquarters of the Church of God (Seventh Day) to Israel.

An understanding of the Great Deception would reveal that Seventh-day Adventists did not even exist at that time. The Awakening movement was global with christians from many denominations reading Daniel 8:14 with the understanding that the "sanctuary" must represent the "earth" and that for the earth to be cleansed must mean that Jesus was cleansing the earth by fire at His second coming. This is likened to the misunderstanding of the apostles at Jesus' first appearing when they were positive that He was going to overcome the Romans and sit as temporal King. They were sorely disappointed when He was crucified instead. Of course their disappointment turned into joy when they fully understood that He had to suffer and die to save the world, and was resurrected, and would ascent into Heaven and return again one day to take them home. And so, the Great Disappointment of 1844 turned into joy when the Bible understanding came to view that Jesus was cleansing the sanctuary in Heaven as High Priest and as taught in Hebrews, Daniel, and Revelation.

SDAs make extravagant claims about E. White as being the messager of God. They regard her teaching as authoritative, almost to the point as being infallible. For men, like the reformers, its sola scripture. Bible commentaries and other christian writings,the apographa are useful for teaching but they are not infallible and therefore authoritative.

I currently have a close family member who is nearing death. Been SDA 81YRS. They are currently going over their life trying to remember all their "unconfessed" sins, are doubting their position with Christ and if they are even saved. I am currently experiencing EGW teachings and the effects they have on people firsthand. This is really sad. This family member is severely depressed all over these false teachings. Any thoughts on how to deal with this?

That was most stupid of her to say that. When God gives a revelation, it was to be remembered and passed on to others. Ordinary night dreams are not so quickly forgotten! If it were not important, why in first place did God reveal the day and the hour? She played the fool with us long enough! The same excuse she gave with the issue of the two laws when she claimed to have lost the manuscript and could not recall what was reveled to her and also in the case of 'the daily' and the 144,000! Not at all! After reading Dr. Steve Daily’s book there is no redemption left to EGW! She is a complete fraud!

The saddest part is people like Paster Morgan devote so much more time and energy toward the mental gymnastics required to defend EGW than where it should be placed. Stop looking at that through the lens of EGW, no one needs her to understand God’s word! How many times does the Bible instruct us to TRUST God and not to rely on our own understanding? He told me that he was not comparing Milton to Ellen White's account of the great controversy as first written in SPIRITUAL GIFTS, vol. 1, but to the biblical stories she included in THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY, vol. 1. His notes are in his copy of the book, so I have not seen them yet. (He's in Michigan, and I am not.) The same issue arises between Patriarchs and Prophets and Edersheim's Old Testament History. But would it not stand to reason that books and compositions on the history of the Patriarchs and Israel would cover the same biblical history if faithful to the Bible?

One needs to read all of EGW's writings to understand what she means. But because she wrote so many books, it's not surprising that there's so much room for misinterpretation and materials that can be used for deception.
Why read a false prophets books when the Bible is available for free on the web
Recently I started listening to Answering Adventism, also looking into Desmond Ford & others which a year ago I would have never ventured beyond the SofP. I will confess what brought me to this decision & that is a quote in the GC… that if we had one sin that we haven’t confessed we will be lost. ! For some reason after all these years that statement had not matured in my brain until recently . If true, no one can be sure of salvation. What a miserable mess. This video today did not clear up anything from both sides
Even in the 613 (which SDAs say they're not under) there were sacrifices that covered unintentional & unknown sins. How dare EGW take that away!
"...that if we had one sin that we haven’t confessed we will be lost." What about her, who violated the laws of God: thou shalt not bear false witness; thou shalt not lie; and thou shalt not steal; thou shalt not covet, with regard to her writings? Was it not sin for her?
Both debator were born and raised from Adventist family and we all should be preaching and witnessing about the soon return of our Lord and Savior rather than debating and confusing the public. God bless us all.

Yet, I have discovered from my research that this was a false claim. She received nothing form the throne of God, but from the writings of honest authors and theologians. She lied all her life about her literary dependence. This apologist deliberately ignores this fact.

There are different reasons for considering statements to be contradictory--when they aren't. Sometimes this is because we don't understand a larger concept. To cite a biblical example, some people think that James contradicts Paul on faith and works, so they ignore one or the other. A better course is to consider that BOTH are right and that they both support a larger concept than those who ignore one or the other. To summarize the larger concept, we can say that we are indeed saved by faith, but faith that is living faith works.

God is all knowing and so he would have never given her any incorrect information, ever.
EGW did not pass the test of a true prophet per the Bible. ANY prediction that doesn’t come to pass makes someone a false prophet. And please spare me the “EGW never said she was a prophet” nonsense!

I’m from a loooong line of SDA. I’m an SDA worker’s daughter. I won’t say my maiden name because you’d recognize it. My dad’s family have been SDA since 1867 and I have an ancestor who worked alongside Uriah Smith. I’m well versed in adventism.
SDA are in trouble because nowadays we have ways to research and prove fallacies.

She says Satan, who is the father of lies, deceived Adam in a similar way, telling him that he need not obey God, that he would not die if he transgressed the law
But in 1 Timothy 2:14, which states that Adam was not deceived, but Eve was.
This is a clear contradiction.

Morgan, i need some SDA advice. I have an elderly close family member that is facing the end of his life. Problem is that he is now reviewing his past sins, worried about if he forgot even 1, is concerned about his future sins that he has not committed yet and is questioning if he even has salvation and what his position with Christ is. This is because he has been taught this for 80+ yrs from EGW's teachings on how to never consider you are saved. No assured salvation only the hope of maybe. This has thrown by him into severe depression. Has he read EGW wrong and she really meant something else? Did he misunderstand his pastors through the years? Did he not carefully and prayerfully read her writings correctly and then forensicly analyze what was written? Um, this is where the rubber meets the road. What do I say to him to bring comfort to him? Anything? This seems to be the dark side of SDA beliefs

You're still just trying to justify yourself! you said, that what Ellen said about blaspheming the Holy Spirit. Is true. and that's what Matthew 12 says... So if you( attribute the work of the Holy Spirit Jesus Christ to the Devil)... Himself .! ..that is what somebody would be doing ,,correct?.. she said the second Goat of Leviticus 16:10.. which is for the( atonement) written (right in the verse ).before the Lord... (is done by Jesus Christ) himself ! She says is done by the devil. ! And that is your confession of Faith! Written in the investigative judgment. As both were claimed to have been inspired? This is the pattern one can find in her writings. This certainly was not the work of God but the Devil himself! I wonder if she used the green cord to figure that out... I use to practice witchcraft when I was a kid ..because somebody taught me. I didn't know what I was doing.. until I did. Learn from somebody telling me.. oh my .. ,was I terrified to realize what I had been in... so now I am adamant against people doing that sort of thing! . It was practiced by both of my grandparents.

Pastor Morgon has been trained well in how to debate and also trained well in being able to throw back his SDA belief system within a second. He is also condescending. Steve Daily is not trained in debating but in research and writing.

I take that as a compliment since I haven't been trained in debate in either my undergraduate or graduate studies. I've been a pastor for my professional career. Though I did enjoy research in college, I didn't start researching and publishing until mid-way in my career. My research on Ellen White began in 2005, when I co-authored a book with Fred Veltman's research secretary on the Life of Christ Research Project. I've published three books about her writing process and one on her Civil War and race writings. It was shortly after 2005 that I also began editing books for other authors. The process of careful researching is what has honed my knowledge of the subject.

No need to research - just read God's Word in whole in context, rightly dividing and Ellen's little story line out of "Great Controversy and the Conflict of the Ages" does not match up with The Holy Bible. I myself am a second generation Seventh-day Adventist, as I describe in my video, "Ellen White Reconsidered" No. 26 - WAS ELLEN WHITE WHO SHE CLAIMED TO BE? Technically, I became a THIRD generation Seventh-day Adventist when my unchurched grandfather became a Seventh-day Adventist and then my Advent Christian grandmother became a Seventh-day Adventist.
1:56:27 I was taken back by Myles' statement that he and Steve have rejected the Advent message. It is hard for me to believe that they do not believe any more that Christ's return is imminent. Perhaps Myles or Steve or both could clarify this point for the viewers.

I grew up around the White Estate and even married into a family that was very involved at the White Estate and knew, even as a child, something was off. Just a child’s logic, of a woman who is not clearly defined in the canon, writing ten times more than God Himself needed to relay in The entire Bible, was disturbing. I felt like we were in the “Mormon/JW” category of ‘weird prophets’, in the first place. Therefore, deep study of things like the closed door, no Mediator and being the only Remnant church, left me quite empty, especially when trying to line her words up with The Word of God. None of that has to do with Christ’s imminent return 🥹 as an adult, I can see clearly now, where “old school SDA’s” stand and I appreciated your devotion and demeanor but Myles & Steve are very clear about knowing Jesus is returning, nothing to clarify there, for me. Lastly, SDA’s being so devout, regarding the typology of Biblical prophecies, why? WHY is it completely different for people in the last days? We will NEVER be perfect when Christ returns! None righteous! Whenever that glorious Day comes, those believers, alive, will still be steeped in (hopefully, repented) sin! God knows our hearts! The “typology” shows that the pharisees who claimed to know The Book, and live The Book were the exact ones Christ came to rebuke… so be careful. I’d leave the “reproving” to The Holy Spirit. EGWHITE never ever set a time for Jesus coming! She kept the Bible Vers, MATTHEW 24:36!!! But it was a time of searching and learning the Bible again, after it was forbidden by the Catholic Church to read! EGWhite and the People realised the Vers, Revelation 10:11!!! And it is a Wonder about EGW with two years of School adjucaton,to write 137 books and over 5000 Manuscripts!! In the 'Great Controversy ' reviews Historic events are absolutely unknown before!!!

@earlysda I will leave it to Miles to give you specific examples because I don't have to care anymore, but the one that always got to me was the salvation by grace or the salvation by works and how we were expected to believe both at the same time.

I guess that didn't come through. The "few months" is a term that Ellen White would continue to use AFTER 1851, so my question is how that they should specifically be applied to the seven-year theory (which ended in October 1851) when she repudiated that theory by the two visions in 1850 and 1851 that specifically condemned setting dates and when James White also repudiated the theory, even though he didn't want to offend Joseph Bates, a dear friend.
