    If you don't like the back, you can do things to make yourself like it, such as stare at the back of a 2016 CRV then back at the back of a Civic. Much better.

      I actually liked the back. I notice them all the time in traffic and I'm like "that's my car alright"

      +wantsanewvehicle Have you ever driven an S2000, or a Civic Si? They have some cars that have been very fun, from what I understand this new Civic has a more sporty suspension and the engine is a lot quicker with that low-mid range torque from the turbo. I don't think the 9th gen civic was a very good example though, Honda has rested on laurels because they didn't need to try. Now this generation is them actually making an effort.

    I have had my new 2016 Civic for 2 months and it is awesome. I get an average of 37-44 mpg. I feel safer with the added side camera and better rear view camera which gives a panoramic view. Plus my car is the beautiful Burgundy Night Pearl! Gorgeous car. Apple car play is fantastic and the touch screen is such a great addition. I love driving my new Civic. I traded in my 2013 Civic and Wow...Honda nailed it on this one!

      Kregz Syb I spend 3 days with a brand new Civic and the design grew on me. Its in a different league than the last generation Civic. Its way more refined, handles better and gets better gas mileage. The interior is also miles ahead of the last generation Civic, its bigger looks better and is built better. The seats are also a huge improvement. I didn't like the design of the Civic until I had one for 3 days. It was even a base 2016 LX that I had. My 2013 LX has no where near the same amount of standard equipment.

      honestly as long as the rated numbers are the MINIMUM you will see this new civic would be worth it to buy when I'm at that point next year when the house is finished and i can afford one, my brothers wife just got the 2016 EX-T on Tuesday my current daily driver gets about 15 MPG so even with just doubling the fuel mileage on my work days (and still driving the gas guzzler on the weekend) I will save enough on fuel to pay the insurance cost on the new car.

      +JUKEBOXX1990 Not yet but I will when I do my test drive in early 2016. But several online car reviewers commented that they wished the new Civic had lumbar support on the front seats. Comments about comfort have varied but most have been positive and that is reassuring.

    • @DougCeleste
      @DougCeleste 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Zach Simpson Thanks for your excellent reply! Much appreciated! One or two TH-cam Civic reviewers said they were disappointed with the lack of lumbar support in the car while the Accord does have it on the higher end models (if not all of them). Anyhow, I do a lot of long distance trips and seat comfort is VERY important to me and glad you find the Civic's seats comfortable. I am only 5' 10" and currently drive a larger car (a 1998 Camry) and like the roominess and the large gas tank. The new Civic gets high marks for many things including the roominess for the model. And as far as the smaller gas tank (less than 14 gallons), I can live with that but will have to fill up a bit sooner than before. Anyhow, I will do my test drives this spring and then go from there. (I had a 1986 Accord LX for 11 years and it is probably the BEST car that I have owned with the Camry second.)

    • @billpaul6675
      @billpaul6675 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Doug Celeste I've had a Civic Touring model for about two weeks. First, I think it looks terrible in the color shown in this video. Mine is black/black and I've already had a half-dozen people ask me if they could look at the interior. It's a nice looking vehicle, maybe just not for everyone. Also, I find the seating very comfortable. I traded a 1998 Accord EX-L for the Civic, and the new car sits just as comfortably. I think the lack of lumbar support is offset by the seat design - it just sort of "hugs" you, you feel very secure and protected. I get it with the 14 gallon tank, but remember, if Honda is right about their gas mileage, you're looking at a range of over 500 miles between fill-ups, that's not too shabby. I have not taken a long trip in it yet, but it's fine around town. I'm also not seeing the 35/41 mpg yet, but that's probably not fair with only 600 miles on it. I am averaging just over 30 mpg, though, and I'm happy with that, I know it will improve. Visit your Honda dealer (I'm not one!), if you're serious about buying see if they will let you take it overnight and try it for yourself - you might like it. I LOVE it!

    • @DougCeleste
      @DougCeleste 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Bill Paul GREAT reply and thanks so much, Bill! Sounds like you really LOVE your new car which is great!!! I was considering the silver color for the new Civic Touring but then I got a BIG shock yesterday when I found out that the new Civic does NOT have a cd player even though the Accord still does. And please note that I do not have the tech devices to hook up to play music in this car and I am not tech savvy. Anyhow, I am now looking again at the Accord Sport which was originally the car I was really considering since I am a former Accord owner. Sure, it does not have all the "bells and whistles" of the Civic Turbo but does have enough for what I really need in a car AND the larger gas tank which I really like, esp. on my long road trips. And yes, your gas mileage should improve as you break the car in. Finally, not sure where you live but I have NEVER had a car dealership let me take a test drive overnight and so consider yourself VERY fortunate that you found one that did just that. So for now, Happy Driving!
      (And P.S.: Your name reminded me of the 70's singer, Billy Paul, but I bet people tell you that all the time.)

    the touchscreen 7 inch display isn't available on the LX, the LX has a 5 inch display with buttons and volume knobs, so that clip with the touchscreen is EX and up, a bit inaccurate in this video, but still a good video

      depends on the car, I've had many people frown at me because I bought an Automatic on my old 99 Firebird instead of a stick, most anyone looking for a "sporty" car wants a stick.

    so when they say there's a turbo option is it a performance turbo or some bulshit fuel economy Turbo? I'm looking forward to the Type R & S I also

  • @yashar1991
    @yashar1991 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    The cvt on the 1.5 is not a bad idea, because the peak torque starts very low 162@1800-5500 rpm, which is very quick compared to other civics from prior years.
    Anybody looking for sportier manual car can get the SI, which I don't think has a big price difference between the 1.5 EX-L. I believe they included the 1.5 turbo only because anyone that spends 25k+ on a civic expects a faster car than that slow ass 2.0 which is not much of a improvement since 2006 1.8L civic.
