    Aaaah what a great idea!! We have so many producers and mills in Italy that don’t get as much love as they deserve. A lot of hyped yarns are actually produced in Italy, I would really love to know by whom! I personally don’t love the idea of buying yarn from Scandinavia and ship it back to Italy when I might even get the same product sold under a different name by the actual producer with less environmental impact.
    The Dark Omen Dynasty is a stunning base, I made an Ingrid sweater last year with it. Definitely a splurge but it’s very warm and it was a joy to work with! Definitely would love to buy some from Lana al Pascolo, Sibillana, Lanivendole and Yes I Wool.

    omg. Good list francesca. I would add for sure Myak... Paola is great, and she's up in Caluso, Piedmont but ships worldwide. then there are my favorite stores, but let me know if you are interested... happy to share. I am in Piedmont area most of the year, so my list is very regional :). Sesia is from the area of Borgosesia - they have an outlet, but I've never found it open :(. Laines du Nord are in the north of Piedmont as well (yes I am spoiled), and I found some similar wools elsewhere... :D

    Sesia Vivienne is THE kid silk mohair for me. Soft and luxurious. I knitted Petiteknit's Novice Sweater - Mohair Edition in colour 0956. Truely a showstopper garment.

    Wish I had found this podcast before my trip to Italy! I looked everywhere for a yarn shop in each city we went to but was unable to find any that we could get to. I think many were in the suburbs and the one that was actually a possibility for me, was closed the day I was in town.

    Oh no, I went to Italy and couldn't wait to shop for yarn. I found Silke Country Merino in Florence and Lane Grawitz Fluffy G Cashmere and Silk in Venice. I love both, but you do not mention either. What do you think?

    Really liked the producers in the hand-dyed section!! Will definitely check them out! 🤩 Also the Cardiff Cashmere is gorgeous, they sell it at my local yarnstore and have it locked up in a glass cabinet 🤣

Me li voglio tutti 😅

    This video is exactly what I needed! Moving to Italy for the fall semester of 2024, and my biggest concern was will I find yarn or do I need two suitcases of yarn to bring :P Haha :P Definitively will be checking out dark omen and their hand dyed sock yarns when I am in italy, they are absolutely georgeous!
    I have heard some people say that you could also buy Drops Yarns in italy, is that correct? :) Also, is it normal with small local yarn shops? Going to Padova outside of Venice and I just need to plan my yarn access to not panick haha.
    Great video! You got a new subscriber!

      You’ll definitely find enough yarn in Italy! While I would not say it’s “normal” to find Drops in small local yarn stores, I would say that some of them do have it. My local yarn store has it for example! If you don’t find it in store, you could always order online. Feel free to message me on Instagram if you want to chat! ❤️

    hi! I’m wondering if Le Wolle Nocciole has that scratchiness that normal wool has? or is it a lot softer and non scratchy? thank you!

    Hello Francisca

    • @AnItalianKnitter
      @AnItalianKnitter  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! I’m not well versed regarding Venice and Rome unfortunately, but in Florence I’d recommend Campolmi Filati. It’s fairly downtown so should be easy to get to if you’re walking around in the city center. Hope your trip will be fabulous!
