Good afternoon! I had to rewatch this episode because I miss seeing you. I think it is because I just started knitting An Italian Winter Shawl in Drops Antique Green and wanted your company! Hope all is well and you are enjoying your spring.
I love your latest shawl!! So pretty❤ I am also knitting another No Frills & I love your 2x2 collar, I will definitely make one. I found a lovely cast on that works, for me, in place of a tubular cast on and it is the Alternating Cable cast on. It looks really beautiful & it doesn’t require the long tail!!! I live in the Southern US & I think our summer gear is comparable (accept we might have higher humidity) so I really appreciate your summer knitting. I can’t wait to see what you cast on.
So I just bought the Noro and sandes garn yarn in your colors. I’ve never made a cardigan. So there’s that! lol! Your cardigan is gorgeous, and I’m like you, more neutral color palette. But that cardigan! Love! Wish me luck! 😂
Chaigoo shorties 😬 yep!! I bought a set of 4 inch, 10 cm tips and I use one longer needle on the right hand side and the shorter tip (3” or eek 2” if needed) on the left-hand side and that really works for me. Trying to use the blue set as is😳🤨😣 and I do not like magic loop so I had to make it work 💪🏻🤭 thanks for the fun 💕 love the cardigan.
Thank you for providing you free shawl, pattern, they are so versatile. I do have to comment on your cardigan, it’s gorgeous on you! You’ve done a beautiful job. Do you know when the “how to” video will be out? The Noro yarn you chose looks perfect on you!❤❤❤
Your step by step cardigan is beautiful with a perfect yarn choice. Are you able to share how you converted the sweater into a cardigan? It's just too hot where I live to wear sweaters. Also, thank you for your generosity in sharing your Italian shawls.
I want to thank you for the free shawl patterns! I am just getting into shawls after a long deep dive into endless sweaters. And I must say, you are writing patterns that I are very much me, “this is super mindless. I would recommend it for the times when you can’t be bothered…” is so me. Thank you!!!
Okay I think it’s time to cast on the spring shawl! So many people recommended it for my spring knitting video and I love that gradient yarn you mentioned. Seems to be tough to find in Netherlands though.
It's always so lovely to spend time with you. I'm sorry to hear that you were ill, glad to see you are on the road to recovery. I am always so inspired by your knitting. I love that cardigan. Do you think an intermediate knitter could make it? The buttons are so fun, I love them. I also love Petite Knit Patterns. The No Frills is a great pattern for all the reasons that you mentioned. All the wonderful yarn you showed today was a treat. I will definitely be trying a few of them. I'm always looking for something new and different. Thank you so very much for all the seasonal Italian patterns, this has been so fun and I love each and every one of them. Take care and I look forward to seeing you next time.
I could see that No Frills as a short sleeve!!! LOVE THAT COLOR!!!! It is so bright and lights up you skin ...I am also a brunette and these are some of our colors! YESSSS on the bangs!
One of my favorite lines in the movie”The Family Stone” is , “ Generosity, generosity of spirit”. That perfectly describes you. You express a sincere joy in sharing. Thank you for the patterns.
Thanks very much for uploading your spring shawl pattern to Ravelry. I’ll be casting on one very soon. I just watched your TH-cam channel for the first time tonight. I very much enjoyed the discussion about your knitting projects, designs, and the yarns. It’s exactly the sort of discussions my local knitting friends and I have when we get together. It’s a great time to be a knitter because there are so many different versions of tools and materials available. While you haven’t had a good experience with the ChiaoGoo Shorties interchangeable needles tips, I adore them. I have learned the short tips, esp with a short cord, require a different grip than longer circular needle tips. I use just the fingertips of my thumb, index, and middle finger and just use a light grip. It took some practice, and now I don’t even think about making the grip adjustment. Trying to use all the fingers to grip the short tips that same as the longer tips just doesn’t work very well, in my experience. I actually use the Shorties so much that I have two sets in each size range because I am knitting a lot of baby garments for the many friends and relatives who have grandchildren or are expecting grandchildren. I like to complete the sleeves and legs at the same time. Babies and small children have such little sleeve/wrist and leg/feet circumferences. I also travel with one of each Shortie tip set and a range of cord lengths. They don’t take up much space or weigh down my luggage. I can buy yarn on my trip and start knitting nearly anything I want right away on 2.0mm to 10 mm. I have subscribed to your videos and look forward to seeing more of your knitting!
I hate Magic Loop, and I really like Chiagoo Shorties for sleeves. So I think you're right here. This is for those who are not fans of Magic Loop. Love the color of your orange sweater! I need one like this for King's Day. It's in April, and everyone wears something orange because it's the color of a king's family.
Thank you so much for your new shawlette pattern!!! I love it! I knitted your “Italian Summer Scarf” pattern as gift for my sister-in-law in a Malabrigo yarn which came out lovely and she loves it so much. I enjoy you and your podcast very much and love forward to watching what you are up to recently. Happy Knitting, Kathy from Massachusetts ❤
My goodness this episode is charged of beautiful projects/ that bubblegum cotton 😮😮 I need a tolsta in that pink too! Nice catching up with you, and you picked some lovely souvenirs ❤
I really enjoy your channel, Francesca. It gave me a nice gentle hour or so to just sit and knit while watching you this morning - thank you 😁 I totally agree with you about the short needles. I've often wondered what it is about them - people either love or hate them. I suspect its something to do with knitting style and how the knitting is held. There's just not enough needle to hang on to and knit with for me, despite having tried to give them a go, so I use DPNs or preferably, magic loop. Yet my daughter who learnt from me LOVES her short needles and cables.
I love your podcast. You are so enjoyable to watch. Your cardigan is such a winner - to be honest, a much better choice for the yarn than the Terrazzo. It looks wonderful on you. Thank you for sharing your shawl patterns. I dont like the word shawlette either. I get it is descriptive but it doesnt sound nice. I have a gradient yarn it would be perfect for and once i finish my half and half wrap, i will cast one on. Thanks again and lovely to spend time with you. (I love Lisa as well. So nice you got to spend time together). x
Thank you so much for your series of patterns. I absolutely love shawlettes. I find large shawls just too large and too much bulk. Love your pretty sweater too.
Thoroughly enjoyed!!! Lovely everything, you made a gorgeous cardigan and you look great in Orange, definitely. Thanks so much for the 4 seasons shawl project! Take care and see you soon ❤
Wow that orange looks great on you! And the cardigan in the variegated yarn is really beautiful and totally understand that you wanted som more yarn of the same brand. The Shalette is av very nice pattern, thank you for letting it for free 😍 Thank you so much for this episode, it was such a joy to watch 🥰
Thanks for the pattern. I have never knitted a shawl before as they don't really appeal to me, but your silk shawl hit the spot. I live in the desert and so it is hot hot hot in the summer. I can use the shawl to protect my chest (mostly) from the sun. Fabulous!
Love your podcast and all your knitted pieces! Thanks for your beautiful free patterns! I especially love the shape of your spring shawlette. I like a triangle scarf but I often feel swallowed up by the amount of fabric on my chest. It's just too much. Also, it rarely gets very cold where I live. So a shallow, less bulky triangle scarf is just perfect ❤
It was great catching up with you, Francesca! Congrats on releasing 4 patterns this year 🤩 I think your step-by-step cardi looks beautiful on you! Can't wait to see what your bamboo and cotton yarns turn into😍
Very enjoyable podcast. Love everything classic & tasteful. Your Noro cardi looks nice and fits you well .thanks for all the yarn acquisitions I always aghast at beautiful muted and bright colors.
I’m beginning to think you should be my fashion go to person! Everything I’ve seen you try on or wear I just love it! Love the cardigan and I’ll be adding that to my library. However, when you tried on the No Frills Sweater my eyes nearly popped out of my head. So beautiful!!!!! 😍
Aaaah thank you, you’re so nice! No one has ever told me I’m a “fashion person” ever, but I guess that might be because I mostly hang out with non-knitters and they tend to not appreciate knitted fashion 😅😅 So glad I inspired you!
Beautiful new patterns, Francesca! I’ve made your Italian Summer Scarf in green linen (just like your sample) and it always makes me feel so put together no matter what else I’m wearing - plus I always get a compliment on it as well. I can’t wait to make the new shawlette. Your finished sweater is gorgeous and seems like it will be very versatile. Thanks for such a fantastic podcast!
Beautiful cardigan! Thank you for another free pattern. I've knitting your Italian Summer Scarf twice recently, it's the perfect scarf to wrap around the neck and tie the ends and such fun to knit!
Thank you for another beautiful free pattern Franchesca!! I have quite a bit of pure silk in my stash and I know what I'll be casting on next 🥰 I hope you feel better soon my friend! 🤍🧶
Thank you. I am all set to cast on my Shawlette. I was watching Florence yesterday and she mentioned your cardigan. It looks beautiful! Thanks for another great episode
I love the blue ChaioGoo sizes. I agree that it does hurt the hands, but you can use a larger needle on one side and a smaller on the other. That helps a bit. I have never used DPN's and I couldn't bother with magic loop. I also have the red version. You're right, it's all a matter of preference!
First time to watch you. You have a nice pace in your podcast. It didnt feel too long at all. Thanks for the great patterns. I just bought some electric blue fingering yarn plus the mohair. I didnt know what to make, but you gave me a good idea.
The spring shawlette is a life saver, thank you. I had almost completed the fall shawl and ran out of yarn😑 I will rip that out and make this one as there will be no issues with yarn quantity since I will be able to see where I am to do the bind off row in time. Thanks so much for the series of patterns. I actually plan to make them all, great gifts!!!
Wonderful episode again!!! Your cardi looks amazing on you! And the No Frills is so cute! Love seeing new to me yarns and I love all you selected. You made this Saturday evening so enjoyable. I definitely plan casting on another of your patterns. Perfect for going into air conditioning here in Southern California 👍
For me its a Smeper sweater that I cast on whenever I dont know what to cast :D although I make it oversized. I just like raglan shpaing. Cant wait for Florence Step by Step Cardigan, I learn to knit with Step by Step Sweater :D I will definatelly try to knit your shawlette!
Ciao Francesca - I have been wondering about you so glad to see you again. Your cardigan is beautiful and the colors in the Noro yarn suits your coloring. Thank you for your patterns, they appeal to my easy knitting preferences.
Hi Francesca. I always enjoy your podcasts - thank you! Can you tell me how much or the Noro Silk Garden Sock yarn you used and for which size? I love the Step by Step cardigan and yarn that you have used. I will be knitting it when the pattern is released.
Congrats on the last pattern! Will you doing it again with a different theme? They are all so lovely! Your Step by Step cardigan looks so good! I don't usually like Noro personally, but I love this colorway and it looks so good on you, so I might have to change my mind. Also, you could always try knitting the Nordic Summer dress off gauge! I hear people do that sort of thing. 😂
Enjoyed your podcast today. Your cardigan is beautiful and I have yarn in my stash to start the Italian Spring Shawlette. (Thank you for offering it as a free pattern). I haven't seen it mentioned in the comments so it's probably a glitch on my end, but I'm wondering if you've noticed any problems with the download link in Ravelry? It doesn't seem to be working for me this morning. I guess I'll try again later.
Thanks for a great time with you- i Will knit the shawlette when i spend the whole summer in Italy ( i live in Danimarca) you Can follow the shawlette project on my Channel : Forever Knitting by Annie 😊
Io adoro le Chiaogoo, devi utilizzarle lavorando con il rovescio delle maniche all'esterno (diritto all'interno della manica) cosi i ferri vanno verso l'esterno, no so se capisci quello che voglio dire, io lavoro sempre cosi è molto più comodo. ;-)
Enjoy your energy so much. Good job on completing your "an Italian neck accessory" series. Looking forward to your next projects + You've been mentioned⬇️ th-cam.com/video/SuBVcfE-Xsg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Iu7DV42DGdYsJqDx
Although I enjoy the knitting content…the constant need to drink a beverage on camera is so very annoying. Seems to be a “thing” lately with podcasters
That pink yarn is stunning! And orange is a great colour for you.
Thank you so much for the free pattern very kind of you in these difficult financial times ❤can’t wait to start it 😀
Big, big thank you for the series of free patterns for your Italian shawl which are so pleasant to knit and to wear, it's very generous of you. 🤗🤩
Please do not cut your hair…. You look great 😊 thank you for the episode.😘😘
😊
Good afternoon! I had to rewatch this episode because I miss seeing you. I think it is because I just started knitting An Italian Winter Shawl in Drops Antique Green and wanted your company! Hope all is well and you are enjoying your spring.
So impressed that you are making your own designs! 👏🏼
These all bright colours suit you so well!!
I Love your cardigan! The soft watercolors in it are beautiful.

Fantastique New pattern ! I'm Starting two today. 😍 Thank you ! You are vertu funny, I quite like your humour 😁.

Great podcast! Very beautiful finished objects and wips. Loved your new shawlettes and acquisitions. Thank you!
Beautiful new patterns, Francesca! I’ve made your Italian Summer Scarf in green linen (just like your sample) and it always makes me feel so put together no matter what else I’m wearing - plus I always get a compliment on it as well. I can’t wait to make the new shawlette.

Don’t know if it’s because it’s technically spring but I’m loving the bright orange No Frills as well as the bubblegum pink.

I hate the shorties as well. I use two 24 in circulars for both socks and when I do sleeves.
Lovely podcast, thank you. Really enjoy listening to you. Your cardigan is just gorgeous! Linda, UK 💕🧶💕
Thank you, Linda!
Just found you - my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed your podcast, thank you
Thank you, love from Poland ❤️
The spring shawlette is a life saver, thank you. I had almost completed the fall shawl and ran out of yarn😑 I will rip that out and make this one as there will be no issues with yarn quantity since I will be able to see where I am to do the bind off row in time. Thanks so much for the series of patterns. I actually plan to make them all, great gifts!!!
Agree about turtleneck sweaters. Too hot to wear indoors. Too claustrophobic. Love your cardigan. Hoping I have enough old Noro yarn to make it.
Thank you so much! ❤️
Great podcast! Love all your patterns and I’ve made them all, and I like your taste in patterns. I think I will try peacock sweater.

That’s so nice of you! ❤️
Your color choices are amazing! ❤
Great podcast, I enjoyed everything you made and are making. Lovely😊
Thanks so much for those beautiful Free patterns. 💙
Nordic summer is like +20 Celcius, so it is probably way cooler than the Italian summer! :)
Sei troppo forte!!! 😂 Bellissimo lo shawlette 👍👍👍
Ciao Francesca, grazie😊
I order from LoveCrafts often and they carry Noro Silk Garden Sock. Not sure if they ship to Italy but are based in UK.
I cannot take my eyes off of that cardigan! I want to make the same exact thing, I just need to search for the yarn 🧶
Loved hanging out with you! ❤
Hi Francesca. I always enjoy your podcasts - thank you! Can you tell me how much or the Noro Silk Garden Sock yarn you used and for which size? I love the Step by Step cardigan and yarn that you have used. I will be knitting it when the pattern is released.
❤
Beautiful cardigan 😊
Congrats on the last pattern! Will you doing it again with a different theme? They are all so lovely! Your Step by Step cardigan looks so good! I don't usually like Noro personally, but I love this colorway and it looks so good on you, so I might have to change my mind. Also, you could always try knitting the Nordic Summer dress off gauge! I hear people do that sort of thing. 😂
Enjoyed your podcast today. Your cardigan is beautiful and I have yarn in my stash to start the Italian Spring Shawlette. (Thank you for offering it as a free pattern). Ciao Francesca! Hai usato i gomitoli Noro alternandoli?
I found a few dress patterns on ravelry with the same issue. Spaghetti strap dress with aran weight yarn. Why?
