    A COUPLE THINGS:
    1. Forgot to mention - if your curls need moisture instead of hold, try adding a bit of curl cream, hair milk, or leave-in conditioner instead of gel!
    2. Try to steam up to 2 minutes total only - any longer and you might get more of a caught-in-the-rain vibe!
    How do YOU refresh your Day 3+ curls? Have you tried any of the techniques I shared here?

    • @djdingwall1
      @djdingwall1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I read this comment a little too late. This morning I needed moisture and instead I added some gel after I steamed my hair a bit for the first time. Oh well, live and learn there are other days ahead to try something different.

      Girl! I watched this early this morning and suddenly remembered I have one of those steamers and have forgotten about it. Game changer on my curls! Genius! Not only that, you saved me from ironing! 😆 I really love your content and think you're the best curly girl on TH-cam! It's probably been 6-8weeks that I've been following the CG method and my results are already amazing! I'm a bit bummed that I followed bad advice several months ago and cut my long hair, but at least I'm working with healthy hair. It just doesn't feel like it's grown now that my curls are forming! Not a bad thing! Also, did you know Sally now carries a hair color line for curly girls? I am not ready to go gray yet, but don't want to undo my progress. All about curls, combined with an additional pre poo treatment and a deep conditioning and my curls are unscathed!

    Just want to thank you for teaching this 56 year old girl to FINALLY be able to handle and style her 2b/c/3a combination curls. Love watching your various videos with techniques and styling product advice. Waiting for my Denman brush to arrive in the mail 😉. I'm also doing the grey grow out thing which further complicates the matter with HUGE demarcation as I'm quite white and going from dyed brown. Yikes! But I'm all in! Thanks again and keep the videos coming. 🙂

      Oh my gosh, thank you so much for saying this!!!! I’m so glad to help and thrilled to have you in the Fit Curls Family 💛 if the grey grow out is kinda getting you down, it may be worth talking to your stylist about blending it down to ease the process! Best of luck on your journey and keep me posted xxx

      57 to young to embrace the gray curly girl here! Sally's now carries a coloring brand for us CGs! It's called All About Curls and comes with a pre color treatment. I also did a hot oil treatment before that and then a deep conditioning treatment in the shower after shampooing and rinsing out the color. My curls are unscathed! I've only discovered this CG method a couple of months ago, have the same curl types as you though they're definitely getting curlier! I'm blown away!

    Hi! I just tried this technique on day 2 hair and it’s great. I never would have thought of the steamer! I’m still struggling with a halo of frizz on the top of my head though. What do you do for frizz control? I also have 2c/3a curls, although they lean more 3a. Your lack of frizz is amazing! Would love any tips.

    Question regarding the steamer: been wanting to get one for refreshing, but feel nervous about it due to living in FL, & humidity is already SO high, I can't help but wonder if that will somehow affect results? Maybe that sounds dumb, lol, but I worry I'll hit some humidity threshold, and that leaving my house after using steam will just be too much. This sounds way dumber now that I'm writing it out 🤣

    Hi Angela! I love all your content. After 2 bonnets and a few buffs that fall off during the night I'm going to try the bonnet you suggested. What size did you get, medium or extra large? The ones I have don't let me bring my hair all the way above because they're way too small haha

    I'm 50 years old and have been fighting to keep curl in my hair for 10 years!! (the previous 40 years were curl-licious) I am sooooo excited to try your methods as your curl looks similar to mine on some of my head. :) Can you tell me what shampoo/conditioner you use? I've just bought the LUS package & am anxiously waiting delivery, but wanted to see what you use. Thank you so much for these posts!!!

    • @judylinke
      @judylinke ปีที่แล้ว

      LUS is what lead me to discover the CG method (I'm 57!!!) and changed everything for me! Watch her video review on LUS. It helped me a lot! It's a great product, but it wasn't lasting. Turns out, I need protein (seriously, I've never even heard of that before!) In searching for products with protein, I discovered I don't need to spend all that money on expensive products to get great results, which is good for me because I'm disabled and really can't afford to keep buying that. Also, I cannot give up coloring my hair. I'm too young to embrace the gray. Sally's carries a color line All About Curls. Fabulous and a lot cheaper than the salon!

      Great image 🤣 I showered every day for a long time until I started performing after college. If you deal with an oily scalp, try using a little dry shampoo at the roots on day 2 & 3! Finding the right products & ingredients for your hair will help too. I still shampoo my hair twice a week, and I’ll often do a double cleanse when I do!

    • @TheFitCurls

      I was surprised too! But as long as you keep the time you steam under 2 minutes and seal the results with a good serum (oh hey, step 5!) you’ll be golden 👌🏻👍🏻

    • @Irishrainy
      @Irishrainy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheFitCurls
      I tried this once and didn’t have the greatest result. I have the same clothes steamer so I’ll give it another try using your method. However, I think you have low porosity hair because it’s so shiny and you can run your fingers through it. My hair is high porosity and super fine and if I try to run my fingers through it, I end up with frizz and my 3a curls get tangled. 🤬

    • @TheFitCurls
      @TheFitCurls  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Irishrainy Oh trust me, you should see it in the shower without product - soaked immediately, starts drying as soon as I take my head out of the water, and tangled as all hell! The products and methods I use help to lock moisture in to my cortex and seal the cuticle. Plus the lighting helps with the shine 😆 I hope this works for you as well as it works for me!! And if it doesn’t, keep experimenting to find what works best for your curls! xx
