    Mate I finally made some time to set this up.
    There is a MASSIVE FLAW that you did not mention in this video.
    You see, the high rev warning light comes up exactly as you demonstrated. The flaw bit is:
    everytime I stop at a red light now, when the lights turn green I need to get these warning lights flashing before I can change gear.
    And then in the next gear the same. In other words I am unable to change gears unless the lights are flashing.
    Just so no one gets me wrong. The motorcycle will comply, there is nothing wrong with the gear box.
    The massive flaw is to do with the rider. I want to see this warning light flashing, everytime, or no gear change, rev higher, not enough, make it blink faster, rev even higher..
    People have been warned, you will get the 'blink addiction' (TM).
    hahahahahaha .. lol man.. 😆

      I woke up with blurry eyes reading this wondering what’s I missed out or what misinformation I have given out.
      Haha nice one! yes I feel you shifting gears feels better when there’s a flickering light compare to without.

      @@RUBBERNMETAL Come to think of it, what the light was meant to do, it is achieving the exact opposite for me. hahah lol man..
      Before it was sure I'll change gear and ride like like a gentleman.
      Now, ------- show me the lights. lol.. funny..

    • @madingahmar4420
      @madingahmar4420 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@CyberCatTechnologies The light is just for the rider. When at high speeds, trying to shift at peak power and looking down at the tachometer could be a little bit too much for a rider. So, the light uses peripheral vision to tell the rider when to shift (which you can adjust on the CB), so that the rider does not need to glance down at the tachometer.

    • @CyberCatTechnologies
      @CyberCatTechnologies 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@madingahmar4420 no, No, NO.. The blinking lights. I stare at them, make them blink, rev higher, blink faster, my heart beats faster. I stare at the blinking lights with my two eyes.. blink led.. BLINK...👀

    Remember me. You answered me yesterday in regards to the 650r and the 500f. What you told me yesterday and this video today has made up my mind. Definitely the 650. Hope it all comes back to me quickly since it's been 25 year's. Thanks and great video.

    • @RUBBERNMETAL
      @RUBBERNMETAL  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the compliment! Of course I remember you 😎 that’s a great choice you can’t go wrong with the 650. it’s a much more grown up bike I feel. Better sounding too. Just the seat is a little too hard for long rides, that can be sorted with a gel seat mod if you feel it’s a big problem.

  • @The.JZA.
    @The.JZA. 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I imagine the default setting is good for the run in period so you dont rev the engine too hard while it's still tight and then once you have finished the run in, you can change it to flash at peak power so you know the optimum time to shift. Handy.

  • @Zed7
    @Zed7 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    All 650R have this function. My dealership showed me how to use it when I bought my bike 2 years ago. I used it a lot for the breaking in period (6000 rpm max for 1000km) and now I have set it up to blink when approaching redline. But you can set it up for mileage too ! Really useful feature and thanks for the video ;)

    • @RUBBERNMETAL

      No problem I’m glad you enjoyed it, it is an awesome feature. It would have been good if I knew this feature during the break in period. I tried to keep it below 8,000rpm but it’s tough to be honest hehe.

    That light would be useful only at the highest RPM for people who... cannot hear the bike? RPM light is more for cars i believe, because the driver might not be able to hear the engine? But a bike... dude, they're loud. How can anybody not hear, that the bike is hitting the rev limiter? Or maybe if the biker has pro-grade ear plugs? Or listening to music, maybe?

    • @RUBBERNMETAL
      @RUBBERNMETAL  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s maybe to indicate in your peripherals that it’s hitting the right rpm for shifting while you’re focusing on riding. Sometimes other bikes around you are way louder you don’t hear your own, I’ve been in this situation.
      Actually it’s not really necessary and I get your point but it’s nice that the feature comes with the bike.

    • @RUBBERNMETAL

      Hi. Yes it’s an OEM inspired rear seat cowl. Beware that 2019-20 and 2021-onwards models fit differently for rear seat cowls.

      @@2wheelsPL oh those. I call that the slider. I had some generic massive ones before. Got rid of those and installed some stealthier looking Evotech ones. If you have the cb mount it on the radiator bolt not the engine (middle) bolt as there’s less risk of frame damage if anything happens.
