- In this video I give my thoughts on comments made by Governing Body helper Ken Flodin in his morning worship video "Beware of Deceit." Flodin uses an anecdote of a sister writing with a question about a 1910 Watchtower article to make the argument that those who walk away from Jehovah's Witnesses are deceitful. But on closer inspection, the article he refers to demonstrates perfectly why many find they can longer follow Watchtower.

I was raised in the JW religion and in the last few days I've been watching many of your videos. I have been a non-believer for a long time since I started my higher education, but learning about the extent of the lies and deceit of the WT org is just blowing my mind. I can't believe how much time I wasted while I was dragged to meetings. Thanks for the hard work.
I feel the same. Been out for so long but after finally not feeling scared of watching these videos I am in shock as to all the lying. Im feeling angry that I was lied to and tricked, to such incredible extents, for so many years. What a waste of the best years of my life.

Back when we got out there was no support group waiting to help, at least for me. I was lucky enough that a friend of mine had been out for a couple of years before so I at least had one person to reach out to. I feel bad for the people who were literally out there all alone, left to cope and not being prepared in the least bit. Not to mention being saddled with a mountain of guilt on top of being alone. Now these people have a means to connect with a network of people who can help and relate to what they are going through.

and none of the JW's seem to be aware of how much the organization mimics the Seventh Day Adventist church that they split away from in the late 1800's. Even the term "new light" was first used in Seventh day doctrine.

I don't see how any JW can watch this with an actual willingness to listen, and not immediately wake up.

When I used to be a JW if I ever came across these kinds of videos I would immediately turn them off or dismiss what I heard because according to what JW publications said, entertaining even the slightest of this type of content was "wrong" and would undoubtedly lead me "astray". I felt guilty about watching anything and never wanted to ask because that in itself was bad because it proved that I was watching or listening to what apostates said. I wish I had listened sooner though, and I hope that JWs who come across this channel and view this content take it for what it is, factual information intended to enlighten and expose the truth about Watchtower really is, a disgusting sham and way to keep its followers controlled and their money donated to it.

+Biblical Truth thank you for your comments...im not convinced by your comment.but have dicussed it with three elders who gave me a similar answer..however i am aware that other churches have publicly addmited they have the same problem but are cooperating with the aythorities. it still seems WT is in denial.even when i spoke to elders i was given only limited answers and felt they did not wish to discuss it..nothing is ever mentioned at meetings or on webbsite. most jws are in denial and will not even consider the ARC . as long as the GB keep in denial as far as im concerned i have no faith in them..what we need to see is some humility and concern for the victims and those wrongley DFS for speaking out.....it will have to be made public.

Why not just reason in general?" I was POMI for a long time...years in fact. Then went back. Finally saw it for what it is. Their looping mind control is another level.
I was a JW since infancy. You could say i was "born in the truth". At age 14 i was told i would be trained to be a ministerial servant by age 17, an elder by age 21 and a CO at age 30. None of this materialized except the MS part which i turned down thrice before i thought i was finally gonna accept it.
The main reason why i never accepted the appointment was looking at how they treated the sheep, basically as "thier cattle" and for ignoring bible principles when it came to congregational matters + worship, they chose instead to pay heed to society's policy everytime.
It became very clear to me that their god was watchtower and not Yahweh. I threatened to write to HQ and report them for thier wrong doing if they didnt stop, you see i loved god more than them.
Then jealous and fearful elders ganged up on me framing me for demon meditation and collaborating with the government to harm the brotherhood. I was disfellowshipped while taking the "stand" in detention. Yahweh saved me out of there with his mighty right hand and before i got out , they told the congregation i had renounced my faith and joined the military. I never served national service btw. I wished i had left that house of demons (JW.org) at a much younger age though.
My whole family in the truth were told lies and ordered not to speak a word to me. They obeyed like docile sheep of course but there were some friends inside who disobeyed, found out what happened to me and left. I hope to be able to tell my story on one of your videos to save many thousands of young ones and abused sheep worldwide who were brainwashed into thinking they are serving god when in effect they are serving a group of men in new york.
The hypocrisy, manipulation and wickedness is so profound that 9 yrs after the incident, i still get calls from ex congregation members informing me that the elders recently asked if I contacted them. they went as far as offering me reinstatement in exchange for my written agreement to never disclose what happened to me in detention barracks. That is how steep they are in thier wrongdoing and wickedness. It will overtake them very soon and leave the "harlot" naked and desolated when judgement day comes. Leave, run, never return if you have and get the right chance and timing. Get out of her my people, says yahweh, if you do not want to share in thier sins. Our god yahweh will sustain you if you trust in him and make him your rock.
Please get out of the disgusting thing formed by the greatest apostate that ever walked the earth: CT Russell and his spawn. They have made an idol and golden calf for themselves by thier exclusive devotion to JW.org and its non-bible based rules and regulations. Think for yourself, wake up and remain loyal to god and never to men! God gave us intelligence and something animals do not have, common sense so use it :D

Instead of bravely, honestly facing an issue, It was more important to save face, to maintain an image of sanctity and wholesome purity. Similar to the Catholic organization, it was 'don't get the authorities involved so as to not cast a negative light on the organization / to not bring reproach on Jehovah'.

+Kema Katsin My brother is an elder. I recently sent him a letter, quoting inky from the Watchtowers own publications, proving without room for doubt that God does not direct this organisation.
He ignored every but of proof on the basis of the fact that I referred to the 'great tribulation bunker series of videos'.. instead of calling them 'Convention drama'. Very frustrating. I wish I could break through his brainwashing. Evil cult.

This is actually my first public comment on one of your blogs and let me say that I like your videos a lot and agree wholeheartedly with most things you say. This video was no exception. Bravo on exposing watchtower for being the very thing they condemn. I hope the arm gets better soon and I look forward to the next rebuttal of JW broadcasting.
I am amazed and very impressed by all your hard work and research. You uncover things I could never find, simply because I don't have the resources. I had an extensive library of old WT publications, but after I was disfellowshiped I burned the lot. I didn't want anything in my home that had any connection with that evil cult. Now, I regret burning many of those old publications because they are a great source of evidence against the Watchtower. Thank goodness for the internet! It's our greatest resource for finding more evidence. I use the word " evidence" purposely because the WT is guilty of grave crimes against millions of innocent victims. How many would be alive today if they hadn't been misled and lied to by the Watchtower over the blood issue? How many died because they refused organ transplants? How many went through life without marrying because they believed the lies about the "end". How many couples died childless for the same lies? How many families are broken because of the unChristian, cruel lies and misapplied scriptures of the Watchtower on shunning? The list of accusations could go on and on. And the Watchtower Society is guilty as charged your honor!

I am in total awe. Completely astonished by how phenomenal this video is. I only woke up not even 3 weeks ago, and I was still feeling some confusion. However there is nobody in their right mind who would continue on in this organization after watching all the facts you have laid out here. It always bothered me that the jw online library doesn't have access to the older publications but now it's very obvious why. Everything here is so heavily researched and well put together, I would have never been able to find these detailed facts on my own....I love your other video about your judicial meeting and your father's email. I'm curious if there's any person, even just one from your family who have seen any of the information you've posted here and woken up? I was a 4th generation jw, my two children would have been 5th (thank goodness I've woken up while they're still little). But my entire family is devoted to this organization and their lies. The whole time I'm watching this all I can think of is how in the world can I get my family to watch this?! Do you have any tips in this regard?
It might be difficult to get them to watch something like this if they're very indoctrinated. You could try showing them material about another cult (Leah Remini's aftermath series, or Louis Theroux's Westboro Baptist Church documentaries) and see if any of it resonates with them. Good luck! :)

How did things go, how are you by now ?
Ihave read the Bible for decades without it being clear and have found that increasing my knowledge of history, geneaologies, geography, ancient texts, other religions, various Christian deonminations, etc. has helped me immensely to make my belief in God and words inspired by him clear. Nothing written by men can be taken at face value. We need aids for guidance. Sometimes though just sitting in the sun, on a pile of dirt, digging crystals all day, the wonderful feeling of hot and cold running water in your home or the smell of the first Hyacinth in spring will bring you just as much joy and blessing from our creator.

Interesting how JW Rep, Ken Flodin accused "apostates" (people who have not necessarily left worship of the TRUE God, but left the JW Borg) of being deceitful, when his arguments only use adjectives [name calling] to prove his reasoning of contempt, when ironically, the so called "apostates" [like John Cedars] actually use the WTBTS's own literature to show the inconsistencies and contradictions, as well as the obvious observations of critical thinking that no one at JW "Bethel" ever use.

Ken Flodin is the scariest of the WT. He reminds me of all the grumpy, hateful elders I've met over the years.

As a child growing up in the org. i always wondered why they never used the meetings to go over apostate allegations in the open. They couldn't they d be exposed as they have been by the internet.
I remember asking about that. I was told that they didn't do that, to save the disfellowshiped one any embarrassment and to prevent rumors. I knew that wasn't the real reason. Of course the rumors flew but only in hushed tones, while driving home. To save them any embarrassment? That was a joke. It was to try and keep people under control. To just accept what was done and not talk openly about it.
John thank you again for all the research you continually share. I have been following your videos for almost a year and I give you the most credit for helping me truly wake up from WT's deliberate deceit along with Ray Franz. It came with great pain in recognizing my lost years of my life dedicated in sincere servitude to WT. But as we all say, better late than never. Please continue John with this tremendously important work you are doing in helping countless JW's who are waking up, fading and finally bolting from this hurtful, shameful WT Organization disguised as the channel of "Truth." In fact, the subtext of the "omitted" sentences is that the quoted scripture constitutes sufficient Bible for a Christian's needs. It's quite remarkable that that section is used to defend their use of the Bible.

Erica, don't be afraid. Just get a real Bible (KJV) read and pray. God will be with you through this if you are sincere,have faith and most of all, believe. That's what true faith is. It'll be hard w/o family but you'll find others who will be supportive of you. Check out Les Feldick who is a Bible study teacher and Pastor Charles Lawson who preaches on end times prophecy. They have changed that scripture somewhat in Jude..Many JW's acknowledge JESUS is their Saviour..But the original text speaks of God the Father and JESUS as being ONE...OUR SAVIOUR...

I love how they tell me "God's word doesn't change" . I then ask well then , why did you need to come out with your own version of it that changes what is said in other versions. What has prevented the bible from being changed each time it copied or reinterpreted over hundreds of years like you have recently done?

Apostate: someone whose beliefs have changed and who no longer belongs to a religious or political group
That being the case, Kingdom Halls are full of apostates. I was an apostate of the Reformed Church the entire time I was in a Kingdom Hall. One could even argue/debate that Jesus himself was an apostate of Judaism! So where exactly does this deceit actually begin???
