    A solution for a problem that doesn't exist.

    Honestly, I like videos that are straight to the point not all this other squabble although sometimes for some people its necessary.

    Lighter? No. Requires tools (slower). More to break (less reliable). More easily damaged (Yes), more maintenance (Yes), Safer (how?????), probably more expensive (I don't know because I would never buy one). Great idea (NOT). The ONLY benefit I can see is that you don't have a handle that gets in the way. I'm 58, loaded hundreds of loads, and have yet to find a load that a ratchet binder handle gets in the way (a solution to a problem that never occurs). Yeah, kind of obvious to me!

    That speed binder has a awful lot of flex in it after he tightened it

    • @richardcooper2287
      @richardcooper2287 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That was our first prototype 4 years ago. With 100 ft lbs of torque, we measured 4,000 lbs tension (way too much) of the chain. Tension is not a problem with the right impact wrench. Appreciate your observation.

      It's a demo... not an actual test... but yeah, the ratchet binder had a few uggahs put on it... why not the s.e.l.f. binder?

    • @unclebenny9028
      @unclebenny9028 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was watching one video over at speedbinder and they talked about their gear ratio and recommended a DeWalt drill/driver/impact of some sort for the best load tightening torque... They didn't explain why, but I believe them... LOL

    • @unclebenny9028
      @unclebenny9028 ปีที่แล้ว

      I really like the grease port on the speedbinder... Can I use my grease gun on the S.E.L.F binders? I like the ability to keep these binders working in ice and mud...

      @frogmanpipes9561 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@unclebenny9028 i understand stand that. It's also true. That defeats the purpose of a speed binder. Plus it's a extra tool you need. Adds cost. You're not going to get the proper torque with just a regular drill/drill driver. It needs to be a impact. You should still check it with a torque bar. That's 3 total tools.

    Wonder how much that guy was paid to give a positive review on a crappy product. Seems like he really likes the old school cheater bar method.

      If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video is how many words? Right, seeing a picture of a load binder with no handle could be confusing...

    They do make ratchet binders with removable handles I don't know how well they work I just carry a couple snap binders in case the ratchet binders are in a place where the handle is in the way doesn't happen very often but this just looks like a pain in the ass in real world conditions ice mud road salt grime and water causes enough problems with ratchet binders seizing up micro mist takes care of that but I don't know if you can get oil down inside of something like this

    At the selling price this binder should tight the load by itself while the driver in the cab , it will take just 10-15min more to do it with regular binders ... Iowa80 price 250$ ... Ridiculous

      I'm going to try out one of the new SELF-2 HD for those odd loads that have no good way to secure without crawling or reaching under the load... Things like giant CNC machines with oddly shaped housings and other odd loads...

    I have both the rachet and the level. just pick your poison. I don't like any of them. they make smaller ones of the lever but depends on the size of the load. they are all over-priced. thanks for your time, Mister.
