Oooooh, how I like your style!!! I always gain encouragement from every li'l ["think outside the box"] fashion tidbit that you have to share. And, YES!!! Right at this here moment not only is Black Friday bargains within our midsts, but they're "Gaining On Us". Lol. Thankfully, I'm in control though. I wear white all year round , I love sequin tanks with jeans and maxi skirts with boots and just fashion period so when I found your channel I was so excited. Kyndra lewis - Hiya! I’ll be 58 next week! I’ve always been a rebel (in every way imaginable) so it’s of course it’s spilled over into my wardrobe. Never be afraid of being yourself - ignore the nasty looks, revel in the compliments as I’m sure you get when you are your true self! I come up with some pretty crazy combos, have young 20 something’s asking to take selfies with me on the subway as they’re so excited with my personal style. (The past four years they’ve been asking for advice on how to get their hair as silver as mine... um Mother Nature, premature greying since 16! Sorry guys!) Otoh, had women a bit older stop me, ask for a pic to send their younger 30 something daughter as they felt so inspired by my crazy outfits, wished their daughters would take chances! Not bragging, I think it’s really funny how people react! There’s the boring ones that say “don’t you think you’re too old for that?” to which I respond “don’t you think you’re too young to question your elders?” 🤣😜😂 or I get nasty and look at their boring outfit slowly head to toe, and say “don’t you think you’re too young to be so boring, have no personal style?” laugh & walk away! Just going with the Thanksgiving theme. I want to thank you because you have been an inspiration. After I found your channel I started to be more adventurous the combination of my outfits. At this moment I cannot go out and buy all the things that I want but G~d you have taught me how to be so resourceful! The culottes are a little too urban/upscale for my groups. But I can't see why they couldn't be switched up with say, black Pixie pants from Old Navy instead of black culottes? It really is a video of inspiration! Thanks Karen!

Jet Kuhn oh, the easiest thing I can tell you do do is go to OldNavy.com and search for their Pixie pants! They have a whole line. They're basically pegged ankle length pants. (Think Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face dancing at the Jazz club). They come in a multitude of colors and prints (and fabrics for the Holidays).
blackvelvetno1 For my circle, they would be fine at an after office party or going to dinner and a show or the ballet, but culottes are too dressy for suburban middle class moms. A plain pair of dressy slacks in velvet or satin or jacquard sateen would work in their place much better.

Hi Karen I don't know if it is something you do in the UK or USA but in Canada you pretty well have to take your footwear off at the door when entering someone's home. Do you have any suggestions on what I could do to still have an outfit look cute? I hate barefoot so I usually bring house shoes or slippers

Hi Karen! I love the "mantra," Always be you! I think this is what draws people to your videos. You always have your own wonderful sense of style mixing high and low, new and vintage. I love digging back in the closet and pulling out some gem that I love. For us, Thanksgiving will be 85 degrees so, I will be wearing a skirt and t-shirt with sandals or flats and a lacy sweater for the evening. What I like to do to dress it up will be a statement necklace. Love the idea of the layering under the dress. I have a wonderful silk black slip and you gave me the idea of perhaps adding a nice dressy top over that. Keep them coming, just love it. Happy Thanksgiving to you!

I love this video, Karen! I'm a curvy but proportioned size 16 and I can incorporate some of these looks! I have a long, pleated, muted gold skirt that I'm going to pair with a fitted knit for Thanksgiving. Thank you! Do you have any ideas of where to get a similar jacket like your Taupe velvet one in a bigger size, Xl or XXl for baggy fun? Usually some of the plus size brand have things that are too wide and not long and closer to the body.

My favorites were the last one and the one with the jumper and mustard colored coat. I liked all the ideas though and I need to do a closet try on session before the holidays hit and I freak out because there's something I have to go to and I immediately forget everything I know looks good and decide it looks terrible. I swear, my biggest problem isn't finding great outfits that I really do love - it's not deciding they don't fit when they did just last week. If you could tell me why I do that - it would be such a gift. I know what I love, I know how to pair it and I do all the time so this problem I have is more than a little annoying.
