An interesting interview on many levels, but the audio was occasionally a bit variable, loud, Loud, LOUD, quiet, quieter, mumble, mumble. Overall, great insights into the fight world from many angles. And by the way Patrick, Conor McGregor should be shamed out of the sport for his savage behavior, and locked behind bars, I'm surprised you let that slide by when discussing character. He had been a great fighter, but that doesn't excuse his brutality.

My biggest influence from teddy (not in this interview)... is when he talks about being the guy that jumps to see if the coast is clear, not the one that waits to be told, hey it's ok come on over! I 'jumped' and moved to Australia and now live by the ocean in the sunshine. I'm not the guy who goes to see if the coast is clear in general, but I was this time and its the best thing I've ever done. Thank you for giving me a little courage from time to time teddy! You da main man!! What a fantastic interview guys. Bless you.

What a beautiful, loving, caring & passionate man - a man who comes from the world of boxing, that parents of sons say destroy their kids, enemies take them for all they can & rub their nose in the things left behind... and this man, tells you why the world of boxing, lived as it has been living for 200 yrs. has carried on, blemishes or not, carried forth by the souls of men called Teddy Atlas!
He had me crying several times as he let go his passion to explain his comments & describe reasons behind them, and no false pride to show a way out of it. What a gentle MAN!! It's people like this that are going to keep an active role in bringing the lost kids up out of the slums and teaching them the good old fashion dictionary of plain, common words as seen through the beings of real people who have wanted and felt lost themselves. He never suffered, technically - but, to listen to him tell his own personal story in HIS way, you felt his suffering down to his toes.
I cried... though, smiling at his simple ways of telling the real truths. It makes you wish he could be made into a serum to be taken 4xdaily, but only if you are trying to achieve, face your fears and live honestly. What a body language this man has - and it's not lying!! His eyes are telling you the very same story. Those pleading eyes are staring directly into yours as if to beg you to please listen to the message I'm sending you. I could have listened to him all day long. What a passionate man. He is 100% Passion - as he shares, talks ... and even the way he feels & thinks.
What I would have given to have had him be my "healing whisperer" (you know what I mean). I'd have let him ride in my ear all my life, I do believe. Such a wise man. He judges things as he sees them, but I don't think he sees the same stuff I do when he "views" something; he sees a translation. He sees something that I didn't even see in the picture. It began when he started talking about the picture filled with your mentors (heroes who inspired you). He picked up on that immediately. He also got stuck on the same two men I did (I still don't remember the one guys name, in white).
I never once felt he said a negative thing about Tyson... I heard him speak of Tyson's short comings, being a bully, etc. He speaks the truths and Tyson tells the same story in his sit-down with you. Tyson finally found his WILL when his skills brought him down. Tyson tells us that, as well. Tyson had to take a hard road around until the will appeared at the time he needed it to. Tyson is now quite a gentleman from what he originally was although few would describe him with the same words - but they DO apply to him, especially from where he came from. THAT is all Teddy was saying about him, as he was talking about Cus letting him slip thru the cracks. Teddy called it right. He and Tyson both have a way of getting their points across in a manner I'm still trying to untangle -- it's just magical, and it only deepens my belief that boxing is a necessary one-on-one sport that must be left as it has been for 200yrs. One man learning, and one man training as a mentor, hugging and talking them thru this thing called life which does appear when you least expect it and not always at the best time. Their real soul is birthed but, only slightly tolerable as they tell the story in a language only the two understand completely. It quietly reminded me of "Karate Kid" - portrayed by Pat Morita. My fatherinlaw tells me Pat's story is quite passionate, as well (friends for years in HA)

It's not about his life in boxing it's his life that is amazing and the way he's lived it and his outcome and perception of it that the modern generation is missing... a real man with faults growing up but learned from them and become a philosopher with all the values, LOYALTY, and understanding of people that the modern day generations are missing x

Fighters deal with self reflection everyday, you thought 5 miles at 4 am was tough enough .Most people can deal with really truly look in the mirror once a month.Teddy is one those guys that takes you to places mentally you didn't know existed before. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand what he says and what he means.Hes insightful, thought provoking,he cant avoid reflecting when listening to him, much respect from strong isl ny .

How does this interview not have millions of views?! Out of all of Patrick’s interviews over the years none of them gripped me like this one. By far my favorite. Wow. The biggest baddest most impactful people sometimes go unheard. I bet his book is awesome. How come out of all the Mike Tyson interviews he never mentions this guy but always Cas. 🤔Sounds like Teddy was the guy who actually put the work in and was/is more influential than ever given credit. Forget all the self professed “tuff guys” this guy is a real one. Honest and humble. IMO
