      I'm glad you find them useful. I have several examples of patients having jaw surgery for sleep apnea without addressing these lifestyle categories first. The results are usually less ideal than those who have these things dialed in before surgery.

    Also my mum didn’t believe it and my dad it took them a long time to finally realise. He was coughing over 20 weeks. My dad took it seriously and I keep telling him to go the doc sooner and then we did and my brother had to take antibiotics because he has strephbugs and his lung detoriated. 😖

    I found insulin resistance causes me fatty/bloating face and neck that causes me wake up during the night and can't get back to sleep with or without CPAP and my BMI is only 20, after that I have tried low carbs diet to treat IR and no more wake up at night!!! but I still have ton of symptom from sleep apnea (severe one).

    Hello, I had a sleep study that suggested I did not have sleep apnea, but I know I have a narrow airway due to having a class 3 malocclusion / crossbite that's been camouflaged. Surgeon recommends double jaw surgery with genioglossus advancement. I'm in my late 30s and debating this surgery since I was a teenager. If I don't have sleep apnea (currently), how can I decide whether it's necessary to have jaw surgery?

    • @allsleepashley
      @allsleepashley  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Have you had a drug-induced sleep endoscopy (DISE) procedure done? This may help better understand if/where your airway is collapsing at night. It's not perfect (difficult to standardize head/neck position and drugs don't equal sleep), but it may help give you more data to sway you one way or another. Also, was your sleep study an in-lab PSG or an at-home study?
