My grandmother dropped dead of a heart attack at 45, my aunt at 55. My dad has his first heart attack at 32. I'm 37 now and struggled for the longest time with what you're describing. I've had all the tests including genetics. Nothing. What I have is a genetic anxiety/depression predisposition that causes cardiac symptoms, not a heart issue that causes anxiety. It's helped me immensely to keep this in perspective. ❤
The first time I had a panic attack, I felt like my heart was going to explode. My friend drove me straight to the hospital which was very far from our village, we had to cross a river at the same time the bridge collapsed and we couldn't cross. Fortunately, my friend brought a float to spread out. after reaching the other side of the river we walked to the small town and waited for the bus. After taking the bus we arrived at the hospital where I met an old man and I complained about everything I felt. the old man It was a leaking lung system.. I panicked more and more and fainted at that place. Since then, panic, anxiety and cardiophobia have stuck with me until now. I lost a lot of things. family, work, friends, girlfriend, money, everything. Thank you God

I totally can relate, because that’s how pretty much my health anxiety started/got worse, many years ago I went to the doctor for just a regular check up, and when they took my vitals my blood pressure was high, so the nurse came back with a pill and she told me that the dr wanted me to take it right there because my blood pressure was high, I already took meds for high blood pressure, and I told her that I wasn’t going to take it cause in my mind then my blood pressure was going to drop quickly, and she told me that the doctor wasn’t going to let me go without taking it and I told her “well, I guess we are all sleeping in this office cause I’m not taking it” and I didn’t, so after that moment I can’t stand blood pressure machines, only having one around or close to me makes my heart race so fast and of course it’s going to be high everytime they take it. So after that incident my health anxiety got A LOT worse and I have to warn nurses etc of the issue that I have with it because I know that it’s going to be super high when they take it, this is horrible
So nice to see you back! Hope you are doing well. I have been suffering lots of pain these days - trying to accept it and sit with it. Some days I do - other days, I get stressed out and miserable.
Thank you for sharing your experience Cherelle. Actually bawling my eyes out watching this because I'm genuinely terrified of doing anything that makes my heart go fast, I live in constant fear that If I overstress my heart it'll give out and I'll just drop dead.. I haven't left the house in months. This gives me hope that one day maybe I'll be out of this mental hell.
i cant believe the symptoms you just listed. the "having to take breaths between sentences" etc....on my bad days i have all these. thank you for making this video.....still healing 🙏
Same sometimes I feel them too and it bothers me, I haven't been to a doctor in like over a year tho I used to go alot but they all said I was ok No family history of heart problems, blood good and BP also good.
Thank you for the video, and sharing your story, i found it very interesting as I am going through very similar things now. Pls ignore the people on your videos demanding answers, you don’t owe anyone anything! Signing up for your newsletter ✨
I’ve just restarted with the whole heart anxiety again. So draining. Sudden fast beat episodes that last for a few moments. Palpitations. Exercise related beat followed by a palpitation for minutes at a time. Saw the cardiologist earlier in the year before the quick beats and they said to ignore them and take a long acting beta blocker.
I’m living this right now. It’s horrendous and debilitating. I have chest pains, ectopics and my heart sometimes feels like it’s losing rhythm for a few beats.
This video has helped alot, the gentic thing not so much because thats what started this whole thing with me in 2022 when my dad had had a mild heart attack. Knowing that hes my dad got me in a uproar thay its gonna happen to me or gentic so for the whole year last year pretty much ive had some type of cardiophobia where im checking my pulse frequently, not moving around too much which now i realize is actually good for the heart. Anytime i feel chest pain i think its my heart when my logical reason is my bad posture and costochondritis. Ive had ekgs, heart monitor for 14 days, x rays of chest and heart, blood tests, vitals and all came back fine. Heck i walked 4 miles a couple weeks ago and was fine so that all convinced me i am ok. But recently going through stress of different situations is bringing em back up again or trying too and this cycle sucks. But your video has inspired me to just sit with my symptoms.
Thanks for this. “The Food Programme” broadcast on BBC radio 4 last week was fascinating. It was all about how vitally important OMEGA 3 Fatty Acids (from fatty fish) are for our brain health (& presumably heart health too!). I always knew they were “essential”, but never realised to what extent…particularly pre-natally and during child development. It seems many of us have forgotten a simple fix!
thanks for sharing! i’m still feeling symptoms months later but currently going through the acceptance stage. i work out and have a physical job which spike my heart rate but i tell myself that it is normal and that i’m not afraid of sudden death or heart attack! hardest moments are when i’m trying to relax or in a very silent environment i can feel my body on another level but focusing on breathing helps and watching something funny help!
Same thing happened to me. Went to the hospital cause I thought my appendix ruptured (gas pain) 😭 they did a ct scan told me they saw a lung nodule. I asked the nurse if it was bad she tells me it could be bad. I went absolutely nuts just for the doctor to come back and say it was nothing but an artifact on the cat scan for years after I thought I had lung cancer. Doctors really need to work on how they speak to anxious people
actually this video made my heart anxiety worse, because you talked abput this genetic thing.....my heart was checked (ecgs, long term ecgs, ultrasound blood)....was ok and i was calm again....but now i am not, because i think about my grandmother who dropped down dead and now, because you talked about this genetic thing i am worried again... aaaaarrggghhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!why did i watrch this video aaarrggggghhh

I've just discovered that I have somatic symptom anxiety disorder, which is apparently different to health anxiety , the difference is I have pain and loads of horrendous physical bodily symptoms every day all day, and not just worrying about getting a illness or disease. I thought I had health anxiety but now I know the difference, I'm just hoping that the therapy and recovery is the same
This is amazing. And gives me hope! Do you still get these symptoms like PACs and PVCs? I want to move on but it feels like I’m gonna have these forever
Cardio phobia is the worst thing ever. It can ruin your life even when you get all the tests done and it’s normal! You seem to have a need to latch onto medical issues! Severe Hypochondriasis!
This was my fear: LQTS. I had around 30 ECGs, and my ECGs only showed prolonged QT at elevated heart rates (7 out of 30 ECGs), so I thought it was a machine error. Even the ER doctor thought there was nothing to worry about. When I saw an electrophysiologist, they hand-calculated a QTc of 590, which was in the 530s when calculated with other formulas. I just started beta blockers, and I'm terrified due to my severe health anxiety and cardiophobia. I just was diagnosed a few days ago. My fear has come true. I'm currently waiting for a genetic test. The scary thing is that a few days after taking an antifungal (months ago) I experienced graying and fuzzy vision, along with flashing vision that came in and out, off balance, struggling to stay up on my feet) This might have been me going into torsades (a potential fatal arrhythmia). This same thing happened a few times since 2016, two times while laying in bed, one time outside, and to a mild extent often at home sitting, or walking. These incidents is how my health anxiety started. I thought maybe it was just an anxiety response. My prolonged qtc only seems to appear at high heart rates on ECG, so I initially thought it was a machine error. If your QTc is over 100, it's a good idea to get ECGs hand-calculated and have them use a different formula than Bazett's. Unfortunately, mine was over 500 with all formulas used, last ECG. At higher heart rates, my QTc has measured between 470 and 590, all hand measured by the electrophysiologist he said with my presentation and my wave presentation in ECG (bifid) I most likely have genetic LQTS (not on any medicine, prolonged qt been showing up since over a year ago with my first ECG) I have no family history, idk how this is. I'm a wreck, wondering now with this condition if my health anxiety, and panic attacks will ever go away. I have severe anxiety, life crippling, I haven't left my house except for appointments, or done anything enjoyable in a year 😢
@@cherellethinks Thank you! ❤ I don't have an Instagram, but I'll make one to get in touch. I'm so scared, I almost fainted twice today. It felt like I was fading away. I don't know if its anxiety, the beta blockers or LQTS 😢
Hi! Nice to see you... my health anxiety can get horrible. I have a little lump lower neck left side. It's hasn't grown. Been there since Feb when I had a chest infection . My dr said we have many lymphs in that area. I took my daughter to a ENT And ask him for a second opinion, he kindly said can I feel it. His opinion was that chances that being something bad is slim. My dr doesn't recommend any scans, should I push it? It's a pea size and actually changes size occasionally but never bigger than a bean. Is that normal?

Hi dear could you answer what tests you did to check your heart is okay. Because I have done ECG, troponin test, stress eco cardiogram test all are normal but in my mind still have doubts about my heart.
Did you feel it like it was not anxiety but something happening with your heart? I mean kind of subconscious anxiety: "I'm not anxious. What is happening with my body?"
Absolutely. You don’t have to be in a state of stress or panic for you to get symptoms of heart problem ( read: anxiety), once the symptoms start, you get anxious and so on and so forth. At the end, in most of the cases it’s anxiety. And especially if you give an emotional response to it, it means it’s anxiety-related. And no, you don’t have to be in a state of stress or anything to feel these symptoms. Sometimes its always sitting deep inside of you and can present itself even if you are happy or in a good mental state. I hope it helped
