Well, another epic video as always. I went to Chester a few months ago and was surprised on how busy the station is. And as well, the unusual train combinations for certain services such as Manchester to Holyhead.
The 507s and 508s have already had an extended life and they were supposed to be replaced entirely before 2021. I was hoping to get some ‘pops’ of the motors during recording but it wasn’t to be 😉 Hopefully this won’t be my last 507/508 video, I hope to also catch them during 777 transition (which hasn’t started yet)
@@StarlifeStudios the last few times I've been to Chester, there was 153s on the Crewe to Chester services, including a 3 coach train form of 3 class 153s, must be somewhere else on that day.
Great, love a Sprinter! You could do trains at Penrith if you find yourself up north 😅 as you get a bit of freight there as well as TPE and Avanti services!
I love the clip in this video with the 150 and 158. The 158 sounds like it’s working so hard! I’m hoping to go to Scotland soon to capture some HSTs so I hope to go to Lancaster, Preston and Carlisle during my trip there/back. If I’m around the Lakes area, I might see if I can fulfil your wish 😃 thanks RF765
I am hoping that Merseyrail will be doing a farewell tour of the Class 507 and Class 508 PEPs. As the Class 777 Metro is schedule to come into service later this year or early/mid next year. And the Transport for Wales Class 175 Coradia to be replaced by the Class 197 Civity. Which Northern could inherit the Class 175 Coradias.
Hi Andrew, I definitely think that the 507/508 should be given a farewell. Wales will become very bleak with rolling stock once it all changes, it can only be sprinters for so long.. Thanks for your comment 😃

MerseyRail services start at Chester and then running through the centre of Liverpool (which is a loop) and then return back to where they started.
