    Why does Deutsche Bahn run freight in the UK ?

    • @StarlifeStudios
      @StarlifeStudios  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      DB took over EWS operations in 2007. When the UK rail network was privatised in 1995, EWS was actually the largest freight operator. Thanks Ben 😃

    3:04 there is overhead catenary there. Is the entire line or part of the line going to be electrified?

    • @StarlifeStudios
      @StarlifeStudios  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Nathan! This station will be electrified in the future as part of the TransPennine Route Upgrade (TRU). I believe the stanchions you can see is part of the project.

    • @yorkshiretrains
      @yorkshiretrains 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The electrification stops at that point. Nothing been announced from there to Leeds yet

    Church Fenton railway station serves Church Fenton in North Yorkshire, England. It is on the former York and North Midland Railway main line from York to Normanton, just under 10.75 miles (17 km) from York.

    Great video! Do cross country still operate their class 43s?

    • @StarlifeStudios
      @StarlifeStudios  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yep! 2 up and 2 down every day. The CrossCountry ones are now the only full-sized HSTs on the UK network.

  • @RickyNowis

    Wow, incredible mixed variety you saw at Church Fenton. Odd to see fast trains stopping at Church Fenton for a danger signal. But, why did they switch to the slow lines. The 37's would swap for either British India Line no. 35018 or LMS Jubilee no. 45562 (45699) York to Scarborough. A few questions I would like to ask if its okay with you?
    1. Which camcorder do you use?
    2. Which editing software do you use?

    • @StarlifeStudios
      @StarlifeStudios  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks Ricky, I knew this one would be right up your street! I won't lie, I took my inspiration from you! Towards the end of my visit, the fast lines were blocked due to some engineering work hence the trains stopping on the fast lines. To answer your questions; I use a Panasonic HC-VX1 and Cyberlink PowerDirector/Adobe After Effects. Thanks 😃

    Great video and a great junction to film at there 😎🎉🤔 👍🏽 Looks like in the distance towards Colton Junction and the ECML, they are electrifying the line between Colton junction and Leeds? 🤔

    • @yorkshiretrains

      Colton Jn to church fenton north jn is getting electrified. Nothing beyond that

    • @jamrah8713

      @@yorkshiretrains they will, they are going to electricity the whole north transpennine route between manchester and york via Huddersfield, starting with this part of the line. I’m not sure when the other parts will be completed by though. I think they’re going to start work on Huddersfield in 2023 last time I recall
      Edit: I am mistaken, they are only going to electrify from york to church Fenton, Manchester to stalybridge, Huddersfield to dewsbury. They haven’t announced anything regarding further than that

  • @Andrewjg_89
