Amazing video Ross!! Some amazing shots there on the straights it looks like a brilliant station! I imagine 90% of the trains were absolutely rammed but better to film them than be on them! Nice catch of the 68s on the intermodals and the 37 PLPR sounding great!!
Great Video Ross! Love to see the Turbostars still in service and the 37 thrash. Have you thought of doing any station near Southend? Thanks for sharing mate👍👍
Thank you! The Turbostars are some of the best units on the network although I do find it a little odd that it’s considered acceptable to go from Nottingham to Cardiff on one! I have considered Southend (both stations) before but the variety has dropped off since the 321s were withdrawn. I will investigate this further and see if I can make something work. To be honest, I partly regret not going in 2020/2021. Thanks 👍🏻
Hello Gray Leaf Trainspotting, I would LOVE to come to Portlethen. The truth is that its a very long was from home (I live in central England). Next time I am in Scotland, I will absolutely consider it. Thank you for the donation too! 😃
Nice video! Do Bombardier Turbostar trains of Class 170 serve the same routes as the Bombardier Voyager trains of Classes 220 and 221? But are the Turbostars also InterCity train vehicles as Voyagers?
No, turbos do routes from Cardiff to Nottingham and Birmingham to Stansted Airport/Cambridge/Leicester where as voyagers go from Penzance/Plymouth/Paignton to Birmingham/Manchester/York/Leeds/Edinburgh/Aberdeen/Glasgow and from Southampton/Bournemouth to Manchester/the North
Nice one Starlife and entertaining as always, nice quiet little station! I do apologise if I’m asking this again but it’s my birthday soon and I’m wondering if you could tell me what camera you use and whether you’d recommend it/easy enough to use! Also how much it cost you to buy. I’m guessing you’d import the videos to your phone after?? Thanks for your time if you do read and reply to this comment 😀! Regards!
Thanks GTR Railways Trainspotter! I use a Panasonic HC VX1 (and have done for several years) I believe it is easy enough to use, there’s a bit of a learning curve with the zoom since it’s slower than most cameras but I don’t think it’s too hard to get used to. As with all this technology, you can dive into the settings and it’s a different world but I keep mine on automatic and it does a pretty good job. It cost me £550 in 2019. I have a Desktop PC which I do all my editing on, the video is stored as an MP4 file which makes it nice and easy to use. Hope these answer your questions and I hope you have a great birthday!
@@StarlifeStudios well my birthday isn’t actually until early October but I’m just considering what to save up for😅! Do you use an SD card for it (I’m guessing so as I’m no camera nerd)?
Are CrossCountry getting rid of the Class 170 Turbostars or are they going to keep them and to inherit more extra Class 221 Voyagers. That some have been cascaded from Avanti West Coast to Grand Central. And CrossCountry to inherit the Class 222 Meridians from East Midlands Railway.
Hello, I re-invest everything I earn from the channel (which isn’t a lot but it helps to cover travel). I also work a full time job and I use this to fill in the gaps. Overall, I don’t have a lot of money but I make good use of my time and money for multiple videos per day. Thanks for the question 👍🏻
Great video and always great to see a 37 around. Well done 👍
Absolutely! I was hoping the 37 was on the front but it wasn’t to be. Thanks DC87 🙂
Sick train video ross
Cross country class 221 yes
A class 170 at a high speed is possibly one of the most satisfying sounds known to man
Amazing video as always Ross! 👍

I feel like if you go to Southend Central it would be nice seeing the 357s 720s and a 387!
Nice job you're always the best Train Spotter
At 0:52 that 170 sounded AMAZING!!!
Nice bank holiday footage Ross 👌🏻
Thanks, I was a bit ill at the time but the sunny warm weather was helping to pull me through it! 😃

You should come to Portlethen train station

@@StarlifeStudios good to hear that you want to come to Portlethen station and England is very far away so I understand
That blackbird was the star of the show.
Great video
Nice can you do Long Eaton?

Hey Ross, why is 170101 going to Birmingham New Street?
Those 170s can be quick when they want

5:30 cool to see the two signals change in the distance!
Great video as always. Is the line speed 125mph here?
Yes it is 125MPH in both directions. Hope this helps Tom! 😃
hey, can you do trains at winsford?

Yes, I recommend something above 32GB, I use a lot of SD Cards as you can imagine! For context, a 4K video is about 20GB of raw clips for me.
@@StarlifeStudios Ah ok ta! I guess you reuse the SD cards when imported

That some have been cascaded from Avanti West Coast to Grand Central. And CrossCountry to inherit the Class 222 Meridians from East Midlands Railway.
No 170s will not change they are getting more voyagers to add some desperately needed capacity on the voyager routes
What is the speed limit on the track
125mph 👍
How much money do you have to throw at the railway for these trips?
