Stef... Another great video! I own a 2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio in Rosso Competizione and a 2018 Porsche GT3 and the two things that surprised me with the Alfa is: 1. This is a great at long road trip's, daily driver and a back road fun weekend car. My girlfriend hated long drives in my past M3's but loves the smooth ride of the Alfa. 2. People of all ages have positive reactions to this car. It turns heads, people point, smile and wave. People will approach you complimenting the car or asking questions about it. 100% agree with you. New m3 XDRIVE is a brilliant car. This still feels more connected. M3 is heavier but it’s a weapon. More soul on the Alfa but as an everyday car the m3 does wonders with the XDRIVE
the way the front end grips and turns in...the way the rear differential pushes the car forward in curve exits...The car is a blast....Not many car give this level of pleasure..However, please have the wheel alignment done with the proper alfa Romeu parameters... Most wheel alignment machines will say to set front convergence to zero and the car become awful with that...it needs the real values from Alfa Romeu to behave properly...and the difference is huge...the best steering wheel feeling of modern cars....with wrong alignment... a lot of pleasure lost
The CarbonFiber roof is a scam :) I tested mine (MY2020 QV - EU market, Germany) with a magnet and it sticks to the roof. Tried it in multiple places all across the roof. The magnet doesn't stick to the bonnet (real carbon) nor doors (aluminium). So everything else is probably tin :)) So the MY20 cars equipped with ,,Exposed Carbon Roof" are the only ones with an actual carbon roof. Another change is that ECUs are not branded Ferrari anymore. They have an Alfa logo. Another change is (don't know how real this is, sources were shady; couldn't verify it myself) that the gas intake is no longer only direct injection, they added port injection too. One more nice change is that now there is PilotSport 4S available in the OEM wheel size. Probably 'cause of the Alfa-Michelin partnership for the GTA_m. You're the only reviewer that noticed the power limiter in the first 3 gears, even in Dynamic mode. I'm impressed. I really hope you're right about it only activating when it's cold outside. I only use Race mode when the streets are completely empty and I'd really love some more power in 2nd and 3rd gears in Dynamic mode. Couldn't test this either, 'cause I bought the car in late Octomber, and it hasn't been more than 10degC outside since then.
I love this car and had to choose between this and the new M3. I took the M3 because of mainly 2 reasons: 1. Reliability 2. Manual Transmission. As much as I love Alfa as an Italian, but they still have to improve on various things...altough no car in this class has so much soul and emotion than this. And it looks absoloutely awesome !
Improvement towards the epitome that is ‘best of class’. You know what.. the Alfa does not need to improve so it can comply with the Germans. Alfa is Alfa. The reliability is not bad for this car. Mine had nothing since I bought it. I do treat it sensible because I like it and I want to keep it. Many people take chances and when it takes a turn for the worst they blame the car. Evidently this happens also with the so called ‘best in class’ German cars.

Did they sort out the Race mode, as in you can have the full exhaust note but still have traction control? It's compelling all being said.
Still not. No fully open exhaust unless in race. I drive this car in race only now though lol
@@StefABtv - haha, I think I'd run out of skill when least expecting it. I had my M2C in MDM mode on a relatively cold day, and nearly lost it. I've never gone back to MDM since 🤣 I would want the safety of the TC if I get overly exuberant with the right foot. Any word on a new Giulia (apart from GTA/M)?
@Stef ABtv some guys have reported in some markets that its available in dynamic however i doubt it has the same effect as race mode.
Hi Stef,
so what is it compared to the M3 CS?
You did that review also.
New m3 XDRIVE is a brilliant car. This still feels more connected. M3 is heavier but it’s a weapon. More soul on the Alfa but as an everyday car the m3 does wonders with the XDRIVE
Thank you Stef!
But I meant the F80 M3 CS 🤗
What mic are you using outside the car at the exhaust?!
2 GoPro cameras mate. One facing forward one by the exhaust and sync the rear cam sound in the edit
@@StefABtv I guess urs the newer GoPro mine sounds sh1t.(doesnt do justice to my qv exhaust sound)
Nice vid
Rear cam is a GoPro hero 7 mate
@@StefABtv mine is 4 ,thx for the response
the way the front end grips and turns in...the way the rear differential pushes the car forward in curve exits...The car is a blast....Not many car give this level of pleasure..However, please have the wheel alignment done with the proper alfa Romeu parameters... Most wheel alignment machines will say to set front convergence to zero and the car become awful with that...it needs the real values from Alfa Romeu to behave properly...and the difference is huge...the best steering wheel feeling of modern cars....with wrong alignment... a lot of pleasure lost
6:30..... I want that key chain. Where can I get it?
NLO ❤
The CarbonFiber roof is a scam :)
I tested mine (MY2020 QV - EU market, Germany) with a magnet and it sticks to the roof.
Summer soon so you will get a chance to test it properly :)
Hi stef we’re can I purchase your car stickers from thanks
What color is this?
Your optimistic about getting a 19 plate for 37k,i would say 45k? But worth every penny.
Is this the best sounding V6 there is? This or the F Type?
It’s a tough one mate. I think the ftype sound amazing and more high pitched than the QV
Could I sell my E39 M5 to get into one of these and love it just as much?
I think so mate. But the M5 is a beast
Would you say the Giulia QV or the Cayman GT4 is the more sporty / more fun car? ... Which one is faster? (In your opinion, not on paper.) ;)
Giulia is faster GT4 more sporty
So which has been - after all - more fun to drive?
is the uk version has the OPF filter?
I believe so for new cars
Just take a look in the forums or Facebook.
the german cars has better quality. especially Audi. but where is the soul?
@@snkcorp.502 soul is a quality that Audi lacks
How about a compare with the M3 BMW specialy in the handling?
Video on that is on my channel now
Can you speak to any improvements with the MY2021?
New infotainment with widgets, enhanced safety systems active blind spot and lane control. Level 2 auto drive. New rear lights. Different colour options, Akrapovic exhaust option, new interior centre console. Performance and chassis remains the same
Thank you for replying! Just to be clear, though, do you mean they did all of these changes between the 2020 and 2021 models?
@@curtisdeansmith2626 I have a MY20, there are no differences between the 20 and 21. Think Stef was referring to MY20 changes 👍
@@mattbottrill6020 Yes, that is what I was thinking. Thank you!
Even compared with the G80? I know people have been saying the F80 is very good but not great, but I thought the G80 might have just edged the QV. Pity about the G80's front grille though.
Got the G80 coming so will be a good comparison.
The Poorelli tyres are just not fit for anything but a hot day, and even then they are not the best
Yeah I found once you get heat into them they do a decent job but can’t beat some Michelin PS4’s on this
@@StefABtv can you get the Michelin’s on the quad? Always thought (maybe wrongly) the sizes were incompatible
@@mbarn you could always but rears were 295 not 285. Michelin just released PS4S' in 285s before Christmas. Got some on my MY20 Quad now. Waaaaaay better than Corsas 90% of the time 👌
@@StefABtv be good if you can find one with some Mitchelins on and do a comparrison
Auto express would disagree mate.
Yep but everyone is entitled to their own opinion ;)
Great Review Stef. M4 .. great car but sorry it is orrible.
It looked as if the steering wheel was trying to buck you off at times! Not sure how much was weather conditions and how much was the driving mode you had it in or if it was a combination of both. Not a car I see in the states, which is a shame.
Was 0 degrees outside with summer tyres lol
@k c These cars come with summer sport tires which are not good in the cold and snow. My Porsche GT3 are even worse in those weather conditions. And yes these cars are sold in the United States and I own a 2020 Quadrifoglio in Rosso Competizione. Amazing Car!
It does look brilliant, but I think the BMW M3 comp version is better than this. It sounds good though. My opinion of course .
Getting the new m3 soon so will be great to compare
A word to the wise don't curb the wheels! The paint Alfa use does not have a paint code and is very difficult to match! 😞 Found this out the hard way!
Haha defo! Not cheap to fix!!!
I ve managed to find paint to my veloce rimms but it was rly hard. Ordered it 3 times before i got right one
I got same wheels that in your video and its worth mentioning that they stick out from the edge of tire instead of beeing protected by it. My wife scatched 4 od them in no time
@@mjarowicz Where did you get your paint from?
@@mjarowicz 😢 I feel your pain!
I'm trying to choose between this and the stelvio. Giulia is just way too twitchy I think.
Stelvio is easier to drive fast let’s put it that way lol
