This. And his old style of making videos. He's pumping videos out like they're on an assembly line now. Same exact formula, every video is the same. I know he's a busy family man but this is just depressing when you compare it to his old content.
One of the things that makes the older videos so different is the music. The new ones mostly use stock audio, but the older ones used a bunch of old-school videogame music and chiptunes. It seems minor, and it took me a long time to notice, but it makes quite a big difference. I also think the older videos had more elaborate and exaggerated jokes, which is funnier to me. Pac Man has a cataclysmic tomato allergy. Not only is it lethal to him, it causes his corpse to release noxious spores that zombify passerby.
Never expected AVGN to cover this game. It's a guilty pleasure of mine. Infuriating, yet so charming and harmless adventure title with some great spriteworks!
"Now that we're friends..." Making a lot of assumptions Pac
I actually had plans to get this game, it's got a charm that no other game had ever had.
This didn't really feel like a complete episode. We got roughly an 8 minute review that really didn't say much and then just abruptly ends.
Well ....old school I guess. I loved it!
There is not much to talk about the game itself
That's exactly how his earliest reviews went. Typically, he wouldn't even show the game's ending.
@@gjergjaurelius9798 But even in the castlevania series insulted more
@@akiradkcn then why make a whole video about it ?
Hey, still better than PacMan on Atari 2600.
facts
But not better than ms Pac-Man on Atari 2600
The opposite
Fortunately, Ms. PacMan on the 2600 is fun.
Think on a tiger handheld would be better the 2600 version 😂
I really liked this game as a kid, played it a lot on SNES. Loved the animations, especially all the funny faces pac man do.
James needs to go back to his old shirts.this is too clean.
This. And his old style of making videos. He's pumping videos out like they're on an assembly line now. Same exact formula, every video is the same. I know he's a busy family man but this is just depressing when you compare it to his old content.
There's no originality anymore.
@@chiarosuburekeni9325 I don't mind the actual new vids, but there's no aggression anymore....no clever wordsmithery or frustration behind it...
I still like the new videos, however, and since we're getting close to episode 200, James might be planning something big for that, so let's see what happens.
@@chiarosuburekeni9325 James has made it clear that he hasn't really had a passion for AVGN for almost half a decade now, but he still wants to keep doing it because he wants fans to be happy.
“Let’s all be adults here!”
“I’m going to paint his town red!”
Wouldn't it be paint his town white in this case?
@@alphagiga4878 no, those are just my favourite lines from two different reviews of the same game.
Now you know the true meaning of friendship. Shooting power pellets at your friend
one of my childhood heroes 😂 so glad to see you’re doing well and still uploading, james! best of wishes!!!
He should give the Atari 2600 version of Pac-Man the Nerd treatment because it and the infamous ET game nearly killed the video game industry
I hope all is well James, this one didn't feel like it had the usual energy of previous nerd videos.
Based on the ending i think it's meant to be a parody about how Pac man 2 is different from the usual pac man stuff.
It was pretty empty
It’s been like this for 2-3 years now to be honest. I think he is just burnt out
Maybe he is tired and don't want to do this anymore
@@sloppynyuszi Funny, people saying the exact same thing for well over 5 years now. I wonder when those "2-3 years" took place exactly .
Thanks for featuring our recording we appreciate all the love that has come our way!
Ska ska ska
It's an incredible rendition... Thank you for arranging and recording that version
Oh no, SKA!!!!!! 😂🎸🤟 I love all the different theme songs James has done over the years!
Do you...like...Oingo Boingo?
@@judsongaiden9878 we cover grey matter its on youtube and we have played dead mans party and we attempted to play violent love. Stay Casual
That's a dissapointing review. Only covers the basics of the game.
I used to play BOTH Versions as a Kid.
The Minecart was REALLY difficult to deal with, but it was still fun to play.🙂
Have you discovered the secret minecart level?
me too, but for some reason I got higher percentage on genesis but never 90+ on snes
@@thetokutickler I recommend
This game looks great visually, and I like the idea of game that combines elements of games like Shadowgate and Lemmings. It may not be executed correctly but I like where they were trying to go. Sometimes when you try to Innovate you don't always hit a HR.
