I can’t help but get the itching feeling that there MIGHT be a more reasonable way to explain how Sophie was “manufactured”, without conceding to the rediculous notion that she’s a robot or something. @@forgetaboutit1354 Its ridiculous cuz its doesnt really Fit with the current themes of the story to them. It is jarring when you consider the supernatural aspect. But I must say, if they do mix ai with supernatural, I eagerly await to see what they do and how they will pull it off.
Lara's comments about the air in her room being thick and unpleasant, but more desirable than the air outside, puts me in mind of how addicts sometimes describe drug addictions.
Sophie: "When you're in the middle of a hurricane, you don't get to stop and look around." Simon: "Flamingoes are supposed to protect you when you're in the eye of a hurricane." (see: I Am Lara update video) Just something I noticed while binging I Am Sophie content.
Interesting. Simon's talking about flamingos that are supposed to protect you in the eye or the middle of a hurricane whilst Sophie is talking about how when you're in the middle of a hurricane you're not able to stop and look around. Even more interesting is that Sophie is notable for wearing a pink piece of clothing(I think it's a suit, but I honestly forget exactly what it was). Pink like a flamingo.
You’ve got people from a company which seem to portray themselves as being some sort of doctor. You’ve got Simon ordering a very specific woman from the just mentioned company. If I were to put those two together, I might be inclined to think that these doctors are taking actual human beings and stripping away everything that makes them an individual and then “rebuilding” them into a set of specifications from an order. Plastic surgery, memory implantation, any other physical and mental manipulation that you might think of could be what would be needed to “make” Sophie who she is. That still begs the question of why is this happening to Lara specifically, how Sophie is able to get inside Lara’s head in the way that she does, how the hell does Mr. Facepalm come into play, and still much more. But, I’d much rather doctors and such being where Sophie came from as opposed to her being a damn android.
people insisting that 'david is/could be dad' are essentially saying that there are two sherlocks, one of which is a wizard and the other is a billionaire philanthropist. *actors can play multiple characters*
It's like saying Edward Scissorhands, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Lord of the Rings are crossovers because of Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom playing characters.
I truly believe the pandemic is the reason for this series' upheaval; I just get the feeling that the writers and creators had to go in different directions due to social distancing etc.
I was thinking the same, but in Inside a Mind's video - he asked the creator of the series questions & one of them was has the pandemic affected the series & the creator basically said no
You dont think they filmed this all ahead of time? Like... you think they’re filming it as they go? OR do you mean you think it was going to be like interactive and they were gonna have people get involved and that messed it up. Not at all trying to be rude, I just dont really recall any scenes with more than one person besides the ones in the mansion, and we already know they rented that mansion for 3 days and made all the videos. I think they thought it was going to be hugely viral and they didnt like that it wasnt. Because pandemic was the PERFECT time to do this. But hopefully you’re right.
I don't think this twist, like, eliminates or conflicts with the paranormal aspect. The YRP game had something evil inside of it, and it infected Simon probably before he sent it to Laura I think. The game was then torturing Laura, and Simon ordered the "Real" Sophie based off of the one in the YRP game, possibly making a portal for the evil to get through? And by the time it did and the Hand of Hate manifested completely in the real world, it had infected Laura and the "Real" Sophia had served her purpose, so Laura took her place.
Indeed. Paranormality doesn't exclude advanced tech. After all, any sufficiently-advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic, and knowing the systems governing paranormal phenomena doesn't diminish their spooky factor. If anything, knowing how it works can make it even more spooky.
I literally just got done watching the previous two of these and was like- "Hm, Wonder when he'll post another one about this series," Perfection at it's finest!
Another idea: Sophie isn't an android at all. She seems to refer to the Hand of Hate as her father(if indirectly). What if Crataeis is actually passing off some sort of summoned creature *as* an android/bioroid? They're using some sort of technology to control them, a bit like the EVA units. By giving the description of the Sophie entity of the game to "create" her, he's actually directly summoning her into the real world. There being some overlap between code and the paranormal is already suggested by the YTP game, which Simon has some involvement in.
20:27 OH MY GOD! That’s why Dad made an appearance in the comments awhile ago. What a clever little foreshadowing that was for who was playing the character.
I think Sophie is like a Tulpa, an imaginary friend manifested into reality. Which makes the questions about being real, make sense, is this who she really is, or is it what Simon wanted?
Let's just hope that, in case, they will be able to insert the concept with the same mastery Lynch did in the Return;) maybe the hand of hate is the incarnation of an idea, too
When he's placing the order for 'Sophie', I couldn't help but think of the Neil Young song "Sample and Hold". Lyrics: Sample and Hold Hair, blonde Eyes, blue Weight, 1-1-0 Disposition, even Mood code, rotary adjustable I need a unit to sample and hold But not the angry one A new design, new design I need a unit to sample and hold But not the lonely one A new design, new design I need a unit to sample and hold But not the lonely one A new design, new design Sample and hold Sample and hold We'll send it out right away Satisfaction guaranteed Please specify The color of skin and eyes We know you'll be happy Sample and hold Don't hesitate to give us a call We know you'll be satisfied When you energize And see your unit come alive We know you'll be happy I need a unit to sample and hold I need a unit to sample and hold But not the lonely one, the lonely one, the lonely one
There is two primary interpretation of the flamingo symbolism. One is that Pink Flamingo represents Romance and Life Balance. Second, it represents Self Love and Success. To dream flamingo is usually a positive experience, and can indicate happiness and joy.
It's more like the video of the cat sacrifice had to be replaced by something, he had a flamingo theme going, then they decided to "sacrifice" his anima (animal/anima? Maybe trying to merge the two ideas). Sophie being his feminine projection... etc... It all just trails off when you try pulling the three threads of Lara's dream, technology, and supernatural. He created an algorithm that connects computers and hell.
I'm still leaning towards Sophie being an AI, maybe even a video game character that has evolved to be a "real" person. The first game, she was a really basic 8 bit character, then the phone game gave her more detail. Last, we saw her as a 3d model, so she's being "upgraded", and maybe Lara is the new player that's trying to take over the role.
i mean the simplest explanation is that there are multiple layers of (virtual) reality; this meshes with the worm/insanity/mind-hack theme from the beginning and explains how lara can be "trapped in her room" at the same time as Sophie's tour. It's a mind-control experiment gone wrong. Sophie is a computer program that is hacking Lara's mind, creating three layers. Layer 1 is "Original Lara," a personality that is stuck inside her room deep in Lara's subconscious. Layer 2 is "Crazy Fan Lara," the layer of Lara's 'conscious' mind which is being hacked by the Sophie/YLP/Hate virus that Simon created to transform Lara into his perfect girlfriend. Layer 3 is the layer of 'actual' reality, where the only version of the "Sophie" blog stars Lara. Because we're experiencing all of this through Lara's perceptions, we are confusing all the layers just like she is. This is why space is so weird in Layers 1 and 2 (re: Mark's teleporting), and why Simon killed himself -- a victim of his guilt and possibly his own virus. It's also why Chloe's job changes so drastically depending on context. (Yes, it does fail to explain Plum. One of Lara's friends?)
Something about the “as good as your code” got me thinking. What if Sophie *is* some kind of android (or, as I’ve seen other people suggest, a trafficked woman given a programmed personality). And the code used had some kind of arcane fuckery involved? Like this could have been the story of “guy tries to make the girl he likes jealous by bagging a social media personality”, only he got a bit too ambitious with the coding/ combined necromancy with lT, whatever, and accidentally created both a sentient creature AND summoned a nightmare thing at the same time. Maybe there was a ghost in the machine of the original game, and putting that programming into a human/ humanoid body acted as a summoning. My brain hurts.
I am SO relieved I’m not the only one who has been banging my head against a wall trying to figure this out. Really hoping they’re able to return soon and give us some more pieces to the puzzle
I'm convinced Lara's dad is vital to the story somehow. I mean he definitely works at(owns??) the company making artificial girls or whatever. And the whole part where Lara talks about how she felt like she was "conditioned" to stay at home and then him getting rid of the car so he can bike to work, further isolating her, feels significant. I also feel like maybe it might be worth looking into the mythology surrounding Scylla more as well with this in mind but honestly, it's late and I've been binging your videos for half the day so I can't piece anything together in any meaningful way, I'm pretty intrigued by the turns this one's taking though.
I do wonder if the creators had another idea of where they wanted to go, but had to make a very last minute change due to the pandemic and the need to social distance. I could be wrong, but it might make sense on why we’re in a such a weird place w/this series.
Truly. They had access to all these sets, seemed to have a budget, actors, etc. Perhaps the pandemic is the reason for the intense focus on Lara and Simon in their little vaults.
@@samphelps5010 they might not be telling the truth though. An ARG’s audience really doesn’t want to hear “yeah, things have gone off the rails” because of so many disappointing ARGs not having a endgame. So, the creators would definitely want to keep people thinking everything is under control
I just had an idea - what if the "code" Simon created wasn't for the CGI Sophie, or even some android, _it's the game._ The code Simon created was to make that game that somehow literally learns how to act human from an actual girl. That's why the "Sophie" in the game keeps getting more sophisticated the longer Lara plays, it's stealing her identity for the base AI to learn how to act like a real woman.
@@Hi-lq7xx Now I'm her age, that she was back then. And back then I kept thinking that when I get to her age I'll understand it all. I thought that I would stumble upon some profound meaning, an understanding. But I still have no clue what it's all about. Last night I lay sleepless in bed, trying to phantom the size of it all. The world, the universe and black holes. I could sense how we orbit around a sun that one "day" will run out of hydrogen and begin expanding as it burns helium. It'll expand beyond the orbit of Mars and vaporize Earth - including the atoms that make-up you and me. I guess there's no profound secret to it all. Everything just is, because if it wouldn't then what would be?
Maybe Sophie is a genetically engineered and vat grown person? Maybe cloned off of a real person? I doubt she's an android. I personally don't know what to make of the series, other than I'm loving the concept, and I can't wait to see more! P.s. I sincerely hope Covid didn't stop the series for good... I so hope!
Why not? I just can't understand why they would need a doctor for a robot. Right? I was leaning towards test tube baby as well, since you wouldn't really need medical information for an android. At least a cyborg, right? Because androids are completely synthetic, there would be no need.
@@kennara5 Exactly, and as long as that ominous company hasn't managed to build Blade Runner style Replicants, it would be unlikely an android would bleed and feel pain like a human.
@@babyfaceweeb8937 XD Someone get on this. Go analyze the footage and find the answer! In all seriousness, though, would this be a detail that could be overlooked? I personally hadn't thought about that til you said something.
I think it would be a far more interesting twist if there was a human trafficking/reprogramming plot beneath it all. Not androids, but real women pre-programmed using multimedia and then taken to be molded (psychological manipulation, physical makeover) into a customer’s ideal woman.
Theory: Sophie is a Genetic Golem. assuming we start treading into sci fi, it's possible Sophie was built like some sort of clone from modified DNA and created as a character for Simon and Mark and Chloe to manage and puppeteer into an internet celebrity.
When I first saw the newest vid, I got the impression that "Sophie" had been a simulation this whole time, being used to replace the void Laura left in Simon's heart OR as an avatar for the chaos of the yrp game.
I mean, you could still tie together these supernatural and technological aspects. The Hand of Hate certainly is a paranormal being, but the methods it chose to spread were through this technology. Recursive nature of things begs this idea that Sophie was brought into being because that's what the Hand of Hate wanted. This whole loop creates and destroys Sophie, whatever she is. Forces propel her to creation, she questions that existence, and then is squashed. The bigger question is where does it go from there. What is within the loop that'll ultimately lay things out for us to break it and move forward with something new?
Old superstition was that photos stole the souls of people and housed demons so I can easily see technology like videogames housing malicious entities.
Haven’t watched it fully yet, but my main question is; who is the hunched figure? Why is he the one who gives bad vibes to Lara compared to the literal hand of hate? Something tells me he’s someone good, but the hand is manipulating her to distrust her
Is no one gonna bring up the potential tie-in between Lara's mom's death and the plane crash footage? She mentioned in her video she died in an accident when she was 3. Maybe it was the entity or the company behind it? Perhaps including it was just another way for the Hand of Hate to get inside her head?
From an interview between the creator and Inside a Mind, the creator said, regarding the plain crash's significance, that it was connected to the reference image that Simon sent when asking for Sophie to be made. Which I take to imply that Sophie was based on a plain crash victim.
HONESTLY. I was so confused when he mentioned the plane crash and then said there was nothing to connect it to yet. Both Lara and Sophie are maternal orphans, and Lara specifically mentions "an accident." The game blindsiding Lara with a traumatic childhood event while it targets her would make sense as well.
The Meta method they used to launch the ARG by piggybacking on insult commentary TH-camrs and their audiences suggests there's a good chance you're right; the writer(s) are probably scanning comments and forum threads for ideas to flesh out their concept as they go. There's likely an overarching plan, and they can fill in details they like as they go.
The way she talks about how she feels like her room is weighing and dragging her somewhere she doesn't want to go.... She said her room was where she felt safe before all this. Big contrast.
Nick, you notice during the "everyone is watching" montage that your logo is there for one frame? Also, "POP GOES THE WEASEL" was re-upped to Vimeo, hopefully that helps.
Theory: the hand of hate is born from the malicious misuse of technology. This new technology formed by the company (I'm bad at remembering names forgive me) was not made for the intent that Sophie was created for. But, by using it in a deliberately malicious way it created a monster? Mark is now under control of the monster the people (simon) have created by how they used his product, and the manager has unwittingly? Gone along with it. The technology was a blank slate, but it was the people, simon in particular, who influenced it to become the monster it is now, and terrorize the people around it.
Apart from everything you've said, which is brilliant as ever, Sophie kinda makes me think of the gnostic diety Sophia. Especially the way the last upload "I can see you all" is phrased, as Sophia is representative of an all-knowing being that is created by a 'person' who wants to create a reality apart from the one they belong. Weird theory but its what I've been stewing over lately. I really hope to see more soon.
I know this is old, but I don't think I've seen anyone mention this yet. In one of Lara's older videos she mentions that her dad sold their car, and she can't visit her friend in Oxford anymore. Since we don't see any other friends of Lara, I'm pretty sure she was talking about Simon. Which would explain why she couldn't get a drink with him, she can't get to Oxford anymore.
The perspective for the events happening in "my #1 super CRAZY fan!!" video changes so drastically after knowing all that info. I'm really not sure about nature of Sophie's existence. In crazy fan video, when Mark plays the sound file, he clearly reacts to it, yet Sophie doesn't react and says "I don't get it, that's nothing". It's like she can't hear what Mark is hearing
Haven't finished watching yet but getting the notification for this video has got me so hype, I love this series and I've rewatched the previous NM videos on it at least 5 times.
I have a theory... Clearly, the makers of I Am Sophie are highly perceptive of trends on TH-cam. That's the foundation for the story. They knew there would be TH-camrs setting out to figure things out. To put the puzzle pieces together. They purposefully made some pieces not fit. They want the confusion and chaos. The sweet, beautiful chaos. In my opinion, it fits perfectly with the theme. Let people drive themselves mad trying to figure this out. Let them lose their minds over a TH-cam series. Let them be possessed by obsession.
Thank you so much for expressing your frustration! I had been working myself into a loop too with the recent twist so I kept thinking I was missing something, I didn't understand a clue or theme or post... but if you're in the same spot, Nick? At least I'm in good company. Time to patiently wait for more info....
I just saw this in my notifications, and I haven't watched it yet, but I loved your two previous videos on this series and I was praying for an update, so I'm excited to start now! EDIT: All right, I just finished watching now, and holy crap... I didn't expect the series to take a turn like this, but it's pretty brilliant. It's clear from the start that Sophie wasn't legitimate, that this is all a webseries and that it's fake, but to find out within this webseries that the character of Sophie was *actually* fake, in the sense that she's an artificial intelligence of some sort... that's really interesting. It makes that phrase "am I being real?" from her first video have more merit now. Plus, you had mentioned in your last video that there seemed to be two Laras - one that was in her room, and another that was with Sophie and Plum during the house investigation video - and if there's a company that sells artificial people (which is what I'm gathering from this), then chances are one of the Laras are fake and the other is real (or maybe they're BOTH fake? Probably not). I'm don't think Sophie's an android, though, that seems a little TOO "out there", but it *is* clear at this point that she's not a real life person. And when you had suggested that it was a simulation and immediately dismissed that though, that got me wondering if this whole thing is some kind of virtual reality, where everyone is a real person who's connected in it via a headset and such, but Sophie is 100% an NPC, and these NPCs could be purchased from an IRL company to help enrich the individual's VR experience. The series being a simulation would also explain the glitches and reality shifts, like when Sophie and Ben were running from Mark and the Hatefingers and suddenly got warped from the mansion into a dark and abandoned room. Is the horror and paranormal side of the webseries actually a virus within the virtual reality, or was the VR actually hacked by someone and resulted in things getting twisted? I doubt that this is really the answer, but it's a fun thought. The series is still great regardless. :D
Thanks for specifying that Dad isn't part of the I am Sophie universe. I genuinely wasn't sure if it was a crossover or a reference or what, so thank you for clearing that up for me. And let's be honest, considering both have themes of what it means to be yourself, Internet culture, time travel/parallel universes and seemingly transhumanism as well as artificial humans, one can easily be forgiven for assuming the two shows could be set in the same universe, especially after Dad change his avatar to show Sophie's face in his place. As for the reveal from the last episode, I agree that it seems unlikely that Sophie is an AI or an android, but I can definitely believe that she's an artificial human. Supporting this is the fact that we don't know much about Sophie's past, and even she doesn't seem to know what her dad did that made him so rich, which seems just weird to me. I know, I know, she's supposed to be an airhead, but she's also supposed to be a believable character, so not knowing what your dad does and how he became rich is rather strange. On top of that, even in-universe, Sophie seems to have come out of nowhere. She just appeared one day, proclaiming herself the queen of TH-cam and revealing she's got a clothing line going, without any further background. Honestly, at this point, I think Sophie was created for Simon, whether it was to fulfil a fantasy of is or for some sort of project having yet to be determined. I don't think she's an android, but she might be a clone or something who could somehow be "programmed" (hence the reference to Sophie being as accurate as his code allows her to be). But again, not an android, more like data was injected in her brain, for lack of a better word. I also believe that at some stage, Sophie became self-aware, or a copy of her personality did, and she was pissed to find out she'd been manufactured to fit someone's desires. I presume this is when she somehow found out about the Hand of Hate, and it helped her start her revenge, including tormenting people who envy the Sophie they saw on TH-cam, like Lara, despite this Sophie being a literally artificial and mindless shell, by perverting their desires for being young, rich and powerful. Ans yes, I think we have both sci-fi AND supernatural elements going on. Regarding the delays in getting a new upload, I'm guessing Covid probably threw a wrench in a lot of it. They had a lot of material where people could record from their own place, and possibly stuff they had already shot before launching the channel, but it's possible that now they'd need the characters to physically meet again, which isn't going to be possible for a while, or at least having everyone wear masks and having to stand at least 6 feet away from one-another at all times isn't exactly conductive to horror. Presumably the same reason why Echo Rose seems to have stopped in its tracks.
Wow, this is the first series in a long time that watching late at night actually made me too freaked out to sleep with the lights off. As I was preparing to go to bed I was so terrified of going through my dark house I had to turn on all my lights leading to my bedroom, and then go back and turn them off one by one until only my bedroom light was on. And I couldn't bring myself to turn off my bedside lamp so the first time in years I slept with it on. I love the dark and scary, I basically celebrate Halloween all year around. And I've grown pretty accustomed to being scared and watching this kind of content. But something about this one really got to me. They did such a good job making you sympathize with both Sophie and Lara, and the mysteries kept getting deeper and deeper and I could never find a moment to breathe and calm down. Well outside of just pausing the series and walking away, but where's the fun in doing that? And don't get me started on the Hand of Hate. It is such a good monster design, and it's behavior made me feel a kind of fear I haven't felt since the early days of the Slenderman youtube series. I don't know, maybe the fact that the day I watched through this was also the day I say my own grave for the first time had something to do with it? I might have just been in a vulnerable state of mind, but even if that's the case this series is seriously something special and I hope it keeps up the quality it has.
I think it's established that hate is called algorithm by now. Also join the I Am Sophie discord, it's very fun and has a lot of information organized in docs by members. And one weird thing, Dad showed up on Inside a mind's video and commented that we should forget about I Am Sophie. I am sure he is not involved but it's very curious.
I can't imagine that the actors for Sophie, Lara, David, Mark, and the Dad cameo would all be incapacitated entirely by the pandemic all this time. Hopefully at least someone will contact NM behind the scenes so he can give us the thumbs-up or thumbs-down for the future of the series, if the creators won't do it directly. Here's hoping for the best.
Another TH-camr called Inside A Mind actually conducted an interview with the creator of I Am Sophie recently, and they confirmed that the pandemic did little to affect the direction of the series.
They said they did all that in like 9 days or something or that's all they had the places for so maybe it's not about them not doing it maybe they can't get any locations and unlike others they don't wanna ruin it. But that's me giving them the benefit of the doubt.
I think it broadly shows how these influencers are "fabricated" or synthesized - all trying to be something they are not- or copying something that they are meant to be or supposed to be. The horror element comes from lara's loss of identity, for something extravagant yet toxic. I think it was done well, it really had me going in the beginning, now im kind of like "meh" when the new videos come out. Perhaps the creator did make more content, but got ticked off that something was removed from yt, so they decided to not release more videos in the sense that they figured it would be removed. Also the pandemic might have affected them because this seems like a very large production.
So glad to see a video up about this again. Maybe this will send a flare up for us to hear something soon. It's so rare to find a gem like this one. I do hope they're all okay too though.
Honestly, I feel like the real tragedy is that the pandemic obviously threw a huge wrench in to the development of the series. The sheer spectacle and ingenuity of the early episodes was probably telling of what they had in mind to move forward with. But when the pandemic hit I got the impression that it was no longer possible to continue with what they had in mind, and had to really try to scrape together what they could. I feel like it honestly shows when the more minimalist and somewhat more cliche videogame creepypasta arc started, after how incredible the initial ARG arc was.
Anyone else see the optical illusion with the pattern and the sponsor text? Just pause there a moment, then gently move yourself/phone gently back and forth or side to side. It's a neat trick. :3
The issue is i think the creator confirmed that the imagery of plane crashes that occasionally shows up is because the source image for sophie comes from well yea
the creator of the arg when asked what the relation with the airplane accident was answered "simon had to get his reference somewhere" implying fake Sophie was made to look like an accident victim Mark probably saw the photo in the news
I think the malware was sent to lara as genuine malware the first few times, and when she wasn't taking the bait, he switched the game out to a brainwashing program, so then he had to make sophie. I'm still not sure where the paranormal comes in unless it's part of the brainwashing, but that's the best I can come up with.

It is jarring when you consider the supernatural aspect. But I must say, if they do mix ai with supernatural, I eagerly await to see what they do and how they will pull it off.

Sophie: "When you're in the middle of a hurricane, you don't get to stop and look around."
Simon: "Flamingoes are supposed to protect you when you're in the eye of a hurricane." (see: I Am Lara update video)
Just something I noticed while binging I Am Sophie content.

@@RejectReef for just a moment...
Here's my theory: The writers mistakenly created a plot hole and TH-cam horror hosts are going insane over it.
Yeah. I got a "Lost' vibe. Creators making too much lore and don't know what to do with it.
At this point we were dealing with a paranormal entity but now we're dealing with an AI? It's weird
Can't rule that out. It's a glaring plot hole though.
The Fact that Hand is an internet ghost only complicates things.
@Inspiration Date : Haha, nice cameo. Dude your work was really good, you need to stop being that a masochist.
I LOVE Mr Facepalm
Sorry, but from this day forward The Hand of Hate is only going to be referred to as Mr. Facepalm.
Mabye, going off of your mention of plastic surgery, his Facepalm happened in some sort of surgical accident or as punishment or something.

I truly believe the pandemic is the reason for this series' upheaval; I just get the feeling that the writers and creators had to go in different directions due to social distancing etc.
I believe that's the case as well. They might not have access to the things they need to film. I truly hope that the staff on this are well and safe
I was thinking the same, but in Inside a Mind's video - he asked the creator of the series questions & one of them was has the pandemic affected the series & the creator basically said no
@@ancientemail1679 *price_is_right_loser_jingle.mp3* :/
Poop! Poop I say!
AAYOOOOO WHERES MY INSIDE A NIGHT MIND COLLAB

Jamie has an excellent meta about this series. Nick is right about the android/paranormal angles being a bit "tilted" haha.
I know right, I'm here with both channels open and I don't know which one I should watch for this
Wow you're a genius!!🤣🤣
Thing is though-- it wasn't /just/ Sophie from the game that made it into the real world-- it was also Ben and Plum, in the very least.
like
That is a creepifying thought.
I literally just got done watching the previous two of these and was like- "Hm, Wonder when he'll post another one about this series," Perfection at it's finest!
You sure that wasn't Inside a Mind?
Another idea: Sophie isn't an android at all. She seems to refer to the Hand of Hate as her father(if indirectly). What if Crataeis is actually passing off some sort of summoned creature *as* an android/bioroid? They're using some sort of technology to control them, a bit like the EVA units. By giving the description of the Sophie entity of the game to "create" her, he's actually directly summoning her into the real world. There being some overlap between code and the paranormal is already suggested by the YTP game, which Simon has some involvement in.
That one does seem pretty interesting. Like it much better than android Sophie.
You had to flaunt that Evangelion watcher's purple heart badge, didn't ya
20:27 OH MY GOD! That’s why Dad made an appearance in the comments awhile ago. What a clever little foreshadowing that was for who was playing the character.

Hand of Hate is Quentin Tarantino confirmed
I think Sophie is like a Tulpa, an imaginary friend manifested into reality. Which makes the questions about being real, make sense, is this who she really is, or is it what Simon wanted?
thats an interesting theory :o
The concept of a Tulpa always intrigued me, I could see it be legitimate in the storyline of Sophie
This was my thinking as well.
Let's just hope that, in case, they will be able to insert the concept with the same mastery Lynch did in the Return;) maybe the hand of hate is the incarnation of an idea, too
First I've ever heard of a Tulpa. I'm interested, care to elaborate?
When he's placing the order for 'Sophie', I couldn't help but think of the Neil Young song "Sample and Hold". Lyrics:

I like your idea
Huh, interesting.
Self taught conscious machines .. kinda like us 😉
Inside a mind basically confirmed this
She died in a plane crash and simon found her image from that
i mean the simplest explanation is that there are multiple layers of (virtual) reality; this meshes with the worm/insanity/mind-hack theme from the beginning and explains how lara can be "trapped in her room" at the same time as Sophie's tour.
That damn arcane fuckery.
If he goes to that extent just to make you jealous, he's a keeper

Ahh and now I'm stuck on Sophie's mentions of her own dad, particularly the "literally grew a million dollar empire out of nothing" line.
I do wonder if the creators had another idea of where they wanted to go, but had to make a very last minute change due to the pandemic and the need to social distance. I could be wrong, but it might make sense on why we’re in a such a weird place w/this series.
Yeah. Who knows about what's going on with the behind the scenes for the writers.
Truly. They had access to all these sets, seemed to have a budget, actors, etc. Perhaps the pandemic is the reason for the intense focus on Lara and Simon in their little vaults.
@@happyclam1266 Neither makes sense or it was planned to focus on Lara and Simon.
The creator said pandemic did not change story at all
@@samphelps5010 they might not be telling the truth though.
I've been surprised by every direction this series has taken, but even then that was a swerve

@@Hi-lq7xx Now I'm her age, that she was back then. And back then I kept thinking that when I get to her age I'll understand it all. I thought that I would stumble upon some profound meaning, an understanding. But I still have no clue what it's all about.

"While everyone is watching..."
That flash of all those TH-camrs was meta.
YAY SOMEONE SAID IT
From an interview between the creator and Inside a Mind, the creator said, regarding the plain crash's significance, that it was connected to the reference image that Simon sent when asking for Sophie to be made.
Jamie released an interview with the creator, I don’t know how recent it was conducted, but hopefully it’s a sign that content is coming soon

Plot twist: they wait for videos like this to come out before releasing a new batch of updates to figure out where the story goes next

Just when i finished Inside A Mind’s videos on Sophie. You got some nice timing.
Ahhhh, an update, I've been eagerly waiting for this!
Oh how I missed this. Always so happy to see another Night Mind video, especially in October!
I came in comments to see if anyone would connect Pitius Sofia with the Sophie character.. you did not disappoint :)
I love how TH-cam didn't tell me you were uploading content since 2 months ago.

The score in this series alone deserves major praise
"He touched my feet." That's a hard nope for me, dawg.
I’m glad to see that there’s an update for this! Was really hoping so
I have a theory...
It's always fun to see a Night Mind update in the middle of the night.
Time to watch before I sleep lmao.
If the android theory is correct, expect to see a cool teenage swordsman try to kill Sophie.
Thank you so much for expressing your frustration! I had been working myself into a loop too with the recent twist so I kept thinking I was missing something, I didn't understand a clue or theme or post... but if you're in the same spot, Nick? At least I'm in good company. Time to patiently wait for more info....

I hope a big channel makes a video about your series, it's good.
You should get out more
I just saw this in my notifications, and I haven't watched it yet, but I loved your two previous videos on this series and I was praying for an update, so I'm excited to start now!
October is here friends, time to get spooky
Thanks for this update! This is the first arg I started following myself after your first I am Sophie video!
The hand of Hate is the REAL hero. He just wants love and no one will give it to him.
I was just wondering when you were going to revisit this. Perfect timing!
Was watching something else, this came up in my notifications and I clicked SO FAST.
WOAH I DIDNT KNOW DAD WAS IN THIS its so cool that hes in other other popular projects :))
Night Mind I was just about to go to bed-
guess i'll sleep later...
Sleep is for the weak.
This whole thing is insane. I love it. TY for bringing us more. Captivating
There was a livestream on DAD s YT channel sometime in the last week and In it,The Guy who plays dad said that he has news that IAS will continue
Another TH-camr called Inside A Mind actually conducted an interview with the creator of I Am Sophie recently, and they confirmed that the pandemic did little to affect the direction of the series.
@@averagebritishguy7082 Yeah.Wonder what went wrong
He's already spoke to insida a mind
Holy shit this is surprising but why at 11:38 PM?!
Feel that
I mean.... It's "night mind" ... 😂
@@jessicapeterson1188 1:41 here lol
the veil between worlds is only thin enough at night and only when the veil is thin can the videos be uploaded
I just watched your Iamsophie videos couple of days ago, so happy to see an update so soon 🖤
Anyone else see the optical illusion with the pattern and the sponsor text?
Just pause there a moment, then gently move yourself/phone gently back and forth or side to side. It's a neat trick. :3
Been waiting for you to cover the rest of this!
