As a native Texan, you're lucky you werent confronted with a firearm exploring private property like that. Would have been much more likely than finding a monster. xD

I admire their dedication and I ESPECIALLY admire you, Cat daddy, for going out looking for... whatever this was!
This whole ARG has hit waaaaay too close to home! As a central Texan, it adds an extra layer of creepy. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to solving the Jack Torrence mysterious, it’s been a wild ride that I’m super glad I jumped on!
Are you sure it's not real? My video just cut out and I'm panicking lol I'm a devout Christian and this do be freaking me out Guess I'll stream on twitch
This exact content - the mixture of standard investigator stuff and the "player" pov that we just never get from these types of ARGs.. it's amazing. We always read about or see the results of the players getting items like dead drops but this is one of the first times I've seen these two concepts crossed.
Thank you NM for being so sensible about the locations. As someone who grew up in areas with a large number of buildings in extreme disrepair, never assume they are unmonitored. We had several barns and shacks at the far end of our property that hadn’t been used since my grandfather bought the land in the early 50’s. Because of this, we knew when cars and people shouldn’t be there. Also as a landowner you don’t know if strangers have good or bad intentions and so we responded with drawn weapons. I really wish people who design these kinds of ARG would stick to land they own or public land.
Solid point. If you don't tend to that land, you don't know what actually happens there. Someone, either the legal owners or someone, human or wild animal, who'd live there precariously could feel threatened by adventurers tresspassing and could feel justified in fending them off however they can. It really puts everyone in danger just for a poorly conceived internet game. Unfortunately there are too many ill-advised "game masters" with no sense of ethics, decency and a significant lack of common sense.
Yeah, this looked so exhausting, and he has to do a whole video a month? Sorry, but I'm really starting to lose interest in this channel. His content was so great. Holy crud the last bit of this ARG really hit god tier. Taking pics of peoples houses (Given it was only through google) was really creepy but it was a nice touch considering you hit the "Climax" of this story in a way. It was very much thanks to you that Jack was able to finish this story. You took one hell of an initiative and Jack latched onto it and invited you into their creation and Im so goddanged happy! Thank you for this Night Mind! And thank Jack for this adventure!
I know we're all about the immersion, but I think you should've noted that the danger wasn't just some potential spooky monster or whatever in some of these locations, but you could run into squatters, farmers, wild animals, etc that could be dangerous. The person in the warehouse very well might have been a homeless squatter.
Jack Torrance Explained was my first Night Mind video, the one that got me hooked on what it now one of my favorite channels on the site. Love putting on your videos when doing homework-- either I'm able to actually concentrate for once, or I abandon the homework to watch the video. Worth it.
Crazy to randomly stumble across an ARG so close to my hometown! Heck, my mom still lives in Georgetown, I wonder how easily I could find these places if I was to look around town
@@HannibalBurgers There's so many good filming locations for horror down here. When I was a teen my friends and I went to this railroad track that was supposedly haunted, I don't believe in anything supernatural, but that place is creepy as shit and there's graves from literally hundreds of years ago during the Texas Revolution.
I noticed the hand of the person recording the video with the modern camera in the video "Nighttime Return" has nail polish (0:48) which might mean is a woman, there's a girl bleeding in a dark room in the video "VHS-C: 12.00000.00 / Token: 74", and in the video you found in the USB the voice is of a woman... what if that girl in distress and bleeding is the original owner (or one of the owners) of the jack torrance channel and was caught by the entity and that's why the channel went silent? Another thing you can notice is that the latest videos have old format but are clearly recent, what if the last video from 2016 is also recent with the entity capturing the girl who owns the JT channel and disguising the video as "old"? (proof of that might be that the last video from 2016 has a tag that says "ask forgiveness" and "repent"). One more thing, inside the the house in the video "Nighttime Return" there's a Happy Birthday balloon, and the packages you found on your field investigation all had Birthday related stuff, does that mean something? (perhaps the birth of the entity into our world?) Just sharing my thoughts

Just so you know, they make compact VHS to regular VHS adapters so you can play the tapes on a regular VCR. If you often use the VHS-C tapes, it might be something to look into getting. They shouldn't be too expensive these days but they were never that common either.
Ngl, my interest in this channel completely died during the time when this Jack Torrance stuff was going on. But watching this now, a couple years down the road, it's kinda fun to watch

And as we all know, curses cancel out
*RING RING* Hello, Mr. Exorcist? We got some cinnamon rolls who need some help with the demons...
Hixxy or sis
As a native Texan, you're lucky you werent confronted with a firearm exploring private property like that. Would have been much more likely than finding a monster. xD
Night Mind, i know i'm like a whole damn YEAR into the future, but i just found your channel, and i find your own camera work to be beautiful.
You know what... I'm kinda happy I hadn't followed this as closely as everyone else and I didn't send anything in. Not that my house would be on street view since it's in bumpfuck nowhere.
I admire their dedication and I ESPECIALLY admire you, Cat daddy, for going out looking for... whatever this was!
Me too. This is the first time I watched anything Jack Torrance related.
CAT DADDY
I’m 4 years late but *CAT DADDY*
God ew. Wtf. Zoophile..
This whole ARG has hit waaaaay too close to home! As a central Texan, it adds an extra layer of creepy. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to solving the Jack Torrence mysterious, it’s been a wild ride that I’m super glad I jumped on!
Also a fun reminder to people who have high anxiety like myself: THIS IS NOT REAL. it is an intense, very immersive ARG. You are going to be okay.
Are you sure it's not real? My video just cut out and I'm panicking lol
I'm a devout Christian and this do be freaking me out
Guess I'll stream on twitch
Always really appreciate seeing comments like this on these sorts of videos, thank you!!
@@BearlyAwake13 yeah it really helped ngl
I needed that thank you lol
But yo, even knowing this is 100% fake, Nick was very much actually there and put himself in serious danger. That's what got me lol.
I love the fact that you have the most relaxing voice I have ever heard yet you cover such terrifying topics. Way to put that voice to great use, NM.
Thank god, you can finally move on to something else
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't sick of Jack Torrance.
Edit: hoo boy.
And you have no idea how much I've been waiting to, as much as I've loved this whole insane adventure.
We're getting off Mr. Torrance's wild ride.
*the ride never ends.*
Night Mind it never ends
"The flesh" is why I never marked down my return address on the forgiveness card I sent...
i'm sorry but
Jack Torrance: oooh i hope Night Mind-chan will find this. I wuv him secretly.
I honestly love this headcanon
Why do you have to do that to me
It's very entertaining to see someone made a real world investigation instead of sitting on a laptop for 7 1/2 hours
if only all Utubers actually went this hard 🦉

Perhaps they do own that land, theres no way to be sure
Assuming this is an ARG.......
muh ha hah ha haaaa 😼
Just shoot people if they don't own the land their on.
Always assume it's a serial killer and kill them first, what's the point of guns otherwise?
@@wolveraspeaks Agreed. Not to mention, how else are people gonna know how fun killling people is?
Solid point. If you don't tend to that land, you don't know what actually happens there. Someone, either the legal owners or someone, human or wild animal, who'd live there precariously could feel threatened by adventurers tresspassing and could feel justified in fending them off however they can. It really puts everyone in danger just for a poorly conceived internet game.
Unfortunately there are too many ill-advised "game masters" with no sense of ethics, decency and a significant lack of common sense.
This is going to be an ARG equivelent of deathnote style battle of wits.
mr maxwell I’d watch an anime of this
@@theamazingmr.shovelman8328 S_ame.
someone needs to make nick sleep or something, poor boy needs a vacation
In detroit.
How about hell? Its in Michigan.
Yeah, this looked so exhausting, and he has to do a whole video a month?
Sorry, but I'm really starting to lose interest in this channel. His content was so great. O was always willing to wait for it because of the quality, but now that quality has been replaced by crypt TV ads and watching him play a pretty bland arg.
i have no clue how that last statement applies to my original comment but alright dude, go watch someone else
@@InsaneAtTheMoment you don't see how "boy needs a vacation" relates to my sarcastic implication that he doesn't?
It really isn't that hard to decode. Go watch someone else? Oh, I forgot the golden rule of TH-cam, if you don't like something you should never criticize it.
This was INTENSE. I love that you're putting yourself through the ringer to be able to get all of this. This is true dedication to your craft.
He went on private property...with a camera...in TEXAS. Truly one of the most bravest things I've EVER seen. Godspeed Nick.
HE PLAYED US LIKE A DAMN FIDDLE
Yes
Good to see that you’re still in the field Nick!
I know we're all about the immersion, but I think you should've noted that the danger wasn't just some potential spooky monster or whatever in some of these locations, but you could run into squatters, farmers, wild animals, etc that could be dangerous. The person in the warehouse very well might have been a homeless squatter.
he thrusts his fists against the post and still insists he sees a ghost !
(The ghosts) but, yeah! We all float down here!!😁
Tttttthat helpppps with my sssssssttttutter
the whole thing with the box makes me think this whole thing isn't really an ARG. if it is whoever is putting it on is batshit crazy
Jack Torrance Explained was my first Night Mind video, the one that got me hooked on what it now one of my favorite channels on the site. I'm thrilled to see it turn into something so deep and interesting. And thanks to Nick for taking the time and expending the effort to fully explore this enigma of a project. Now let's burn this extra-dimensional devil.
32:04 Blam, mystery solved. Just some hipster who wanted to share their favorite records and get you to shell out for a record player
Great job, gang, everyone go home
Y’know, I’m beginning to think that this is that ARG that you said you’d be part of a while back.
Imagine if a janitor or security guard picked up a geo cash
(If that’s how you pronounce it)
Geocache
Literally have that fear as I’m watching this alone in the school I clean, I feel like this would be a definite landmark for these things and always has me paranoid, looking out the windows, or even hearing noises.
*spell, not pronounce
*Geocache
Your attention to detail is so friggin admirable. You never fail to bring good content, keep up the top notch investigations my friend
Isn't Jack Torrance The Shining guy?
Yeah, some uninteresting other channel used that name for their uninteresting ARG
What the hell is ARG?
@@fulanitoflyer Alternate Reality Game, the kind of stuff that this channel always covers. Like "This House has People in it".
Cool Thxs

14:50 To be honest, _that_ is the scariest part of this video. I got chills.
dude, I love these, you inspired me into this community and create my own, not mainstream but it alliows me to express myself, and I feel it helps me alot as someone who gets frustrated and doesnt like classical art styles
I was so honored to be part of that. I missed the live stream but I was excited to see you being on an adventure. I felt by two weeks it was onto the next phase and I was too late. I hope I can either participate or host an ARG someday and this one inspired me. What can I say: I'd love to catch a demon cat.
I was researching the tribetwelve live stream and this notification came in I don't think I've ever clicked on a video so fast.
IT'S CAT DADDY TIME
If I didn't know any better I'd say that this is the arg you said you'd be a part of a while back.
Exactly.
Jack torrence is great and all, but wheres the *DAMN GOOD MARGARITA*
I'm nee to this channel, but what is up with so many people saying that line? Is it from a ARG he covered?
jeilman93 It’s from My Dads Tapes where the main character hangs out with a serial killer and drink some damn good margaritas
@@NorthSudan haha thanks, I actually saw it recently, was hard taking that "tough serial killer" seriously while drinking that margarita😂
Oh dayum. Wasn't expecting my name to show up in Patreon support, Thank you! This has got to be the craziest thing to happen yet Nick, please keep up the great work
I forgot about the whole geo cache thing. The one I found was a military ammo case about 12 years ago with random things in it behind a big oak tree. It felt pretty spooky.
So what you're saying is that you got us all cursed?
Thanks Nick!
I'm early to a video?! Omg!! Its good to see you've finally got it done!!
Now Nick, got get some rest okay? You need it!
Very intrigued by the Leviathan curse.. I’ve suffered with back problems, mystery pain, and other various illnesses for years and was diagnosed with fibromyalgia a few years back. Fun to see parallels from a favorite ARG to my personal life.
And this is why having a PO box is so nice.
We have defeated jacky boy
For now
Night Mind:Jack Torrence strikes back
Things got legitimately Texas Chainsaw Massacre for a bit
The abandoned place with the old truck and "coffin" door was actually a filming location for that movie.
26:00 All I hear in the background is Rich Evans dragging that ladder to the Plinketto board
Love how you called his bluff and made this happen
Awesome
(perhaps the birth of the entity into our world?)
Just sharing my thoughts
**notices your package tied with string** owo what's this?
Kinky.

@Stamatis I have indeed, being owned by a cat myself. And that very playfulness is what I was referring to as "kinky".

The Jack Torrance serires was my first introduction to this channel, I rememeber watching the livestreams in a hotel in a family vacation befire binging the rest if your channel. Thought it would be fitting to rewatch during the channels 8 year annivesary.
Just recently discovered this channel and am now binge watching all the quality content i've been missin
Welcome to Night Mind!
Hats off to them, they adapted the story to someone actually intervening with it, well done
This, now this is epic
Your pfp is amazing
Give the four eyed cat a cup of coffee
I have to say I'm kind of impressed that the silky-smooth baritone we hear in the videos is just your normal speaking voice.
I have listened to you for years and just today was directed to this video! I love this! I must say I was shocked your old time radio voice is all yours …. I now picture a toddler (Stewie Griffin style) not saying one first word but you giving your parents a full narration of your morning… than supplying video footage… as you walk away your parents stare off , mouths agape… 😂
The cemetery at 46:03 keeps giving me a headache, it abruptly starts at 46:03 and abruptly stopped as soon as the cemetery is gone. I know no one else might see this but I still wanna put this out.
fo the entire live stream he just sounds like out of breath
"OK hah ITS DEFINIT..hah..hoo..ELY A DEAD DROP"
1.I remember being at the stream with the curse and being scared out of my mind because it was 12am and I was a child
2. I’m pretty sure after that night mind actually assured the audience watching that cursed aren’t read and that made me feel better
